Urbane Cafe
1042 N El Camino Real, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
First, from the outside, you do not realize how big and spacious the restaurant is. It had plenty of open seating.Upon walking in, I noticed the massive menu, with so many delicious options to choose from. I also noticed the bread/focaccia making station, which assured me of how fresh my food was going to be.The lady taking my order was so kind and she helped me by giving her suggestion of what Sandwich I should get, as I was stuck between two; their seasonal Mojo Chicken and the Bahn Mi Chicken. She suggested the Mojo Chicken and the Mojo Chicken is what I ordered. While waiting for my lunch, I filled up my drink cup with half tea and half of their blueberry basil lemonade. SO GOOD!!!! When I left, I filled up on half tea, half Mango lemonade! Just as good as the blueberry basil. When I received my sandwich, I was so excited to dig in. The cheese was ooey gooey and the veggies on my sandwich were grilled to perfection. The chicken was nice and juicy and the sauces on that sandwich were AMAZING!!!! I did not eat much of the salad, as I am not an arugula fan, but my problem, not theres. I will most definitely go for a cup of soup next time, as I am a soup lover and would love to try one of their soups of the day. Luckily the sandwich came with a bag of chips that left me more than satisfied! The staff was amazing, so kind and offered up any help when needed!Overall, I had a great experience and will be back. Healthy eating, but different and fun menu all at the same time. This location is a little out of the way for me, but the Mira Mesa Urbane Cafe has my name on it!

Rated best chicken in San Diego? There must be some terrible chicken in town. Dry chicken, no sauces to wash it down with, bland, overcooked etc. Go to just food for dogs and have a meal cooked by experts. I had the cajun vegetables nothing cajun about it except maybe the way they opened the can with dirty hands. I ate half what they gave me threw the rest away. It wasnt even fit for a homeless give away. Try chicken at local supermarket deli counter, save yourself a trip. If its marinated in what they claim, theyre doing something wrong. I waited for three weeks to try this place because of the ratings. Obviously nobody in San Diego knows good chicken. Dang yall got some messed up taste buds!P.S. The owner just responded that I should get myself tested for Covid. I didnt think that I would catch that there too but now that you mention it, I do feel a little sick. At least I know now where I got it. Thanks for blaming your shortcomings on the unsuspecting public!

Ramen and Sushi Spot
127 N El Camino Real Suite E, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
I stopped in for an early dinner while my tires were being serviced across the street. I got a miso soup, house salad and a salmon roll with avocado. The house salad was bigger than I expected and really good crunchy onions on top. Excited to come back for ramen and a try few other menu items that I havent seen before at other restaurants. Very clean and pretty inside, outdoor seating available too. Gender neutral bathrooms and wheelchair accessible.

EEEAAAHHH. OOOKKKKKKKKAYYY. Or as I not call this place lil johns.80 beers in 80 days. Ok so Im probably not going to make this goal despite my best efforts. I live a little too far of a drive and commute in the opposite direction and have been traveling lately, but I will be back when I have more time. I shall dedicate myself and try not to drink my good beer elsewhere.EAH is small, probably less than 50 seats. Tall tables up front and shorties in the back. Bar stools as you belly up. Whats great about this place is its size. Its meant for intimate drinking with people who love not just good beer, but know good beer. Now we all know San Diego is the Mecca for craft beer, but in my travels to Germany and The Czech Republic Im pretty sure theyve got the real fire in their blood. It was there where I found my love for good beer and its a pleasure to see so many imported here. Forget the British Pubs find a place like this with Belgians, German, French, Swiss and Czech beer, most put most of what we consider craft to shame. There is a lot to be said about availability and creativity so Im not saying trad houses are better, but just look at all the tap handles on the roof, youve probably never seen half of those.Water jug and glasses for cleansing is near the country style doors which is great during the summer. So inviting. Bathroom outside and around the corner. Service is amazing, they sure know the beer better than most bartenders know mixed drinks.Food is actually pretty good from the fries to the wagyu burger (get the gorgonzola on the side because the gruyere is plenty enough already and you dont want to take away from the beef). I havent actually had much of the menu, but have had most of their burgers. I stayed away from the cheesesteak because it was tri tip and not ribeye, who wants a beer float anyhow? With good pizza nearby I could never force myself to try a pizza. Costa Rica Fish tacos are good, but Im not sure what makes them costa rican. Its local white fish, slaw, generic white sauce with mango salsa (thats probably it). It could totally use more bite, its fresh and crispy/crunchy, but could use some refinement on the profile. The calamari plate is really scallops, shrimp and calamari. I was hoping it was all calamari for which I prefer an aioli and fresh lemon, but the scallops and shrimp kind of dictated the heavier tomato based sauce.EAH!!! OK!!!

I like the environment there! But the food is okay...the Tom Yum soup was disappointing. Its a bowl of clear and sour soup, not the red delicious Tom Yum I had when I was in Thailand or other Thai restaurants in the US.

Family run, consistent food, delicious. I recommend anything with turkey. They roast fresh turkeys for their club sandwiches, open-faced hot turkey sandwiches, Cobb salad. They have won local awards for the lima bean soup. The triple deck grilled cheese is my boys favorite. Chocolate cake heated with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Kids eat free nights weekly. Wednesday, I think? Best burgers. They get their meat from Tip Top Meats. If I dont feel like cooking for Thanksgiving we have been known to go to the beloved Encinitas Cafe. It feels like home. Ive been eating in this restaurant since I was a little girl and it was called the Coffee Mill.

Agave Birrieria

I have been going to the Encinitas location weekly since it opened. It used to be AMAZING! I ordered a Carnitas burrito and it was close to the size of a rolled taco. They cooked the life out of the Pico De Gallo and it basically tasted like a stew in a wet tortilla. It leaked everywhere and the tortilla turned into a noodle. I ordered my favorite Caldo De Birria, it used to come in a bowl. It now comes in a fountain drink cup. It was still tasty, but you can no longer stir in the side veggies and might as well use a straw to eat it. Unfortunately it seems like they are going down hill fast. Cutting corners, reducing the portions, and charging more $. I used to highly recommend it to anyone who came in town. Now I'm back on the hunt for a new place to recommend and enjoy. What happened Agave??

Fish 101 Leucadia

Great local eatery for seafood with an amazing beach side vibe and laid back decor.Food: 5/5 seafood known for their great fresh catch, fun selection of cold drinks, and oysters. This eatery is amazing. It's a local shop in the Encinitas area off of the 101 highway. They offer fresh oysters for only a dollar apiece during their happy hour. They have a decent selection and it is first come first serve. They shuck the oysters and leave it on an ice cold platter with homemade sauces and fresh lemon. The oysters are sweet and succulent and you can get as many as you like while they last. There is also an amazing selection fresh fish. The fish is cooked several different ways. The fish tacos are another solid staple that is a winner here. The fish is also locally caught so it's very fresh...the way seafood should be prepared. They also offer a few sandwiches that are wonderfully seasoned and always hot and ready.Service and seating: 5/5The service is great. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. It makes the dining experience extremely enjoyable. The restaurant itself is a bit small so if you plan on dining here then arrive early so you can find a table on the inside or in the back patio area. They also have some seating in front of the restaurant. This is a very popular eatery therefore there's always people arriving and filling up seats. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge. There is only parking in front of the restaurant and down a little ways. There is dirt parking across the street near the railroad tracks. Be mindful when you cross the street.Overall this is a great beachside eatery that is fun and family friendly. The fresh seafood is top notch and the service is inviting and friendly. Make sure you stop by this eatery if you are along the beautiful coastline. You will definitely thank yourself!

East Village Asian Diner
628 S Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
Oh my God this is actually the most amazing and delicious restaurant in San Diego. I was walking by it one day and decided to try it and Im so happy I did.Ive Only gotten the Mongol pot (I think thats what its called) and its so good. All it is is a bunch of vegetables, some meat of your choice (they also have vegan options and you dont even need to order meat), white or brown rice, and an egg. You can also substitute the rice with kale and add or take away anything you want. They serve it in a really hot bowl that keeps the food warm the entire time youre eating it (its what makes the food so delicious). However, you should take their advice and never touch the bowl under any circumstances ever unless you want to burn yourself. Anyways, so on top you can add their sauces and some Sriracha and it all melts together. to be honest Im not even the biggest fan of vegetables but they become so tender and flavorful that it would be a shame to eat the bowl without it.In terms of the restaurant, its very rustic and clean. The waiter that works their is really chill and cool so Ive never had a problem with the service. The price of the bowl is around $9 with no meat and with beef (which is what I highly recommend) its around $14 after taxes. You get so much food and its so delicious that its really worth it in my opinion.Tl;dr If you are looking for a healthy place to eat thats extremely delicious and unique, I highly recommend eating here.

Kaito Sushi

We sat at the sushi bar, and ended up sitting in front of the head sushi chef & owner of the restaurant. She was fabulous! The sushi was phenomenal and fresh, so much flavor. We ordered the blue fin tuna sushi, sashimi roll, edamame, miso soup, along with 2 additional rolls, total with tip was $100, very reasonable for the quality of the fish, no doubt!
