The food is super tasty, they are new cooks! Everything fresh, with an excellent seasoning. The delicious breaded fish fillet and seafood. They have very good prices, excellent service and everything clean. One of the best taquerias in Marin. I recommend it .

TuTu Lounge
1335 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
Tutu lounge replaced Bogie’s on 4th St., San Rafael. We went there and tried 2 things we couldn’t get it somewhere else in Marin. Shrimp tomyum (hot and sour Thai soup) scramble (or you can order omelette) and pancakes with Thai tea sauce. Both are yummy and unique. The tomyum scramble was a great idea, the tangy taste of tomyum went well with scrambled eggs, and the big shrimps on top made it very special as well. The pancakes were good and went well with the Thai tea sauce. The portion is also generous. They have a couple tables on the sidewalk and plenty of tables inside. The owner was very friendly. I saw the sign that they will serve dinner, starting on May 30th. This restaurant is a good addition to downtown San Rafael and deserves a visit from you.
Golden Era 1
842 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
There are already a number of really good Vietnamese restaurants in San Rafael. How did we get so lucky?Golden Era 1 adds to this line up and offers something different. The menu is not as extensive or as typical as other American Vietnamese restaurants, but the food feels very home style in a great way! Everything Ive tried has been delicious.Im not Vietnamese, but it really feels like you are having an amazing home cooked meal. The dishes are so hearty and comforting. Everything tastes like it was made with TLC.Ive tried the Beef Rib Soup, Combo Beef Soup, a special spicy Beef Soup, Beef Shank Stew, Shrimp Fried Rice, Grilled Chicken, Pork Rib Barbecue, and Korean Beef Barbecue. Im pretty sure the last two arent traditionally Vietnamese, but the chef includes Vietnamese tasting herbs and sauces with them, and I really enjoyed the fusion. If you have the Pho, the broth tasted clean and not overly salty. Just the right amount of flavor so you can really pick up the flavors of the fresh herbs that accompany the dish.If I had a gun to my head Id pick the Beef Shank Stew as my favorite, but I still have not worked my way through the menu yet.The food speaks for itself. Do not look this one over.
Himalayan Kitchen
227 3rd St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
Visited with high expectations. But was a bit disappointing. The menu is pretty overpriced compared to the taste. Picked up the following:1. Pork momo- Decent dumpling size but the momos were little hard.2. Chicken Momo- This was nice. Slow cooked chicken and the momos were tender.3. Classic chicken curry- Disappointing. Very blunt in taste. Chicken felt stale and cooked in a haste. No hint of garam masala, gg paste and aromatic spices.4. Garlic Naan- Soft and tender.5. Dal Soup- This is is horrible. Just boiled yellow lentils with lots of garlic and tomatoes.Avoid if u have other options.**************************************04/09/2023- Sadly couldnt find a better way to reply to this arrogant restaurant owner who forgot his nepali roots I think. I am not spreading misinformation. Buddy, you are so prejudiced that you even took my positive reviews 2,4 and defended yourself against it. I am from a border Indian state to Nepali and I think I know nepalese cuisine better than what you fed me. Yes I could not recognise the carrots in your daal soup as because you boiled it to such an extent that it become tomatoes. Buddy I know nepali style chicken curry. You have to make it with the skin. Anyway you wont understand as your customer base is different and keep them pleased. No point of arguing as I wont return. Loosing one odd customer like me wont make much difference to you I think. Peace out.

Emmas Restaurant
817 Francisco Blvd W, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
My boyfriend and I dined here on a quiet Sunday night. We are both born and raised in SF so we know good Chinese food. We were sad to learn Pings closed but were hopeful that this place would be a good replacement from the menu and reviews. We were so happy to doscover that it is actually an improvement on Pings in terms of portions, quality, and ambiance. We ordered the Westlake Beef Soup which very few Chinese restaurants outside of SF are able to do well and were impressed by how wholesome and substantial it was. Highly recommend if youve never tried Westlake soup. Then we ordered our favorite dish Beef Chow Fun. Often when chow fun is done wrong, it is too greasy but this was not greasy at all. The noodles were not overly seasoned and the portion was huge with plenty of beef. Must order! Finally we ordered the Black Bean Prawns which had a ton of shrimp and perfectly cooked veggies in a savory bold sauce. Could easily be three meals worth! This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Marin! We plan to come back regularly and highly recommend you come by yourself. You will be satisfied!
Pho
75 Bellam Blvd Suite I, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
This place makes the BEST PHO I have EVER had in my life!! The broth is seasoned to perfection. The vegetables are always so crisp and fresh! The Daikon is my favorite! The service is absolutely amazing! Fast and efficient and they do not skimp on the bowls!! And all for an EXTREMELY affordable price!! Nothing like all these other overpriced, underseasoned places on Marin. The staff are all so professional, kind, and accomodating. The best part, besides the Pho, is the music and the atmosphere!! A little bit of everything for EVERYONE! Love this place!
Pupuseria Blankita
48b N San Pedro Rd, San Rafael, CA 94903, United States
This place is wonderful. I found them fully by accident - my car overheated at the gas station next store and I was waiting for it to cool down when I had to pee. This little pupusa place had bathrooms for customers, so my friend and I decided to have dinner while we were waiting. The food here is such a surprise, and the staff are a delight. It might not look like much, but this little place is a diamond in the rough. Personally, I thought the refried beans and the bistek entree were really great! Im told the papusas are top notch as well. I came back the next day with my partner because he absolutely had to try it. We ate until we were stuffed, and they even gave us some empanadas to take home and try. Dont miss this place. Its a gem.
Jessie & Laurent
1945 Francisco Blvd E STE 32, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
J & L has absolutely delicious food that my entire family (3 kids + 2 adults) enjoys. When I was due for surgery, my family and several of my friends contributed to a Community Gift Fund for my family and me. It helped immensely to be able to simply order food as I was recovering, and know that something delicious would be headed our way. I love how everything is packaged neatly with labels that have heating instructions. Their pastas are so good and the desserts are delectable! My kids love the pot pies. Throughout this quarantine period, being able to order from a reliable service with excellent food has been priceless. Highly recommend!
Laos Kitchen
887 4th St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States
There are no Laos restaurants in Marin County.Love their fried chicken appetizers and Laos jerked beef with sticky rice and dipping sauce.Started with the Lemon tea which was awesome, and the passion fruit drink was amazing. They serve Lao Beer, you should try it. Taste like Corona.Their papaya salad was a perfect blend of sweet/sour/spicy. As a Laos/ Chinese American, it was the closest you can get without going to Laos. I encourage you to visit Laos.Their sticky rice wasnt dried at all even when cooled which tells me it was steamed fresh. We also had the Pad Se Ew with Shrimp, which was moist, and the shrimp was cooked just right. The texture was the same as the noodle, soft and moist. We also had their Larb, just like the salad was the perfect blend of spices. The vegetable garnishes were perfect and crunchy. There were a couple of dishes like the bamboo salad also good with sticky rice and a steamed pork sausage also went well with sticky rice. After our meal, we ordered sticky rice with ice cream topped with a coconut sauce that was drizzled on top that married the two very well.I encouraged anyone to try it. The place is spacious, well-decorated, and chill. The bathrooms are very clean and decorated.
