Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
4110 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
The food is all right for what it's worth but they really need to rethink their training process. The wait staff is doing a good job but I really don't want their corporate training culture in full display in my face every time I walk in here. They're always training new people in front of the customer. It's overbearing having two people tower over you as you're ordering. It just feels weird and dare I say unauthentic! I thought maybe it's a one time thing but nope! Keeps happening almost every time. It's not rocket science! Hire the right personality, trust your people to do the right thing and stop your role playing in front of the customer. Customers want to ESCAPE the corporate culture when they dine in. They don't want to be cuddled in corporate “fakeness”— it's nothing that can't be done out of sight. I just want to clarify that they are nice and attentive but it's overbearing and gets old having two people attend to you at the same time every time. It's as if they don't trust their people to do the right thing and have to keep looking over their shoulder. It's unnatural and feels like another corporate metric type of thing they are trying to achieve. This is a newer thing I haven't experienced before in all my time at different olive gardens in the state. Please stop this practice. As a customer I'd be happier with just the waiter giving me their attention instead of their boss looking over their shoulder.
Panera Bread
4103 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
It is May 11th and Im impressed that some changes were made, the salad to go containers were changed which made the stirring of the salad better and the baking of the tulip and lemon drop cookies is getting more consistent so good job Panera!!?I really hope this keeps up and thank you, those changes were much appreciated!?Im so dissatisfied with Panera right now because of the plastic salad container they are using now, you cant stir your salad dressing in without the salad going all over the place? Most of all those wonderful seasonal cookies now are always overcooked(last week they were great) this week they are backed to being overcooked and the lemon drop cookies this are really overcooked!!!?Think Im going to find another place to eat on Fridays what a shame. They used to be so good?..I went back to Panera yesterday and I was very happy with the tulip cookies, they were cooked like they used to be and that alone improved the taste immensely. ???It is April 28th 2018 and here we are again and the baking is inconsistent again, so I wont be going back anymore, you know if the system wasnt broke with Panera before you shouldnt try fixing it. Panera has been around for years without any changes and it was great to go to a place that was consistent but now what are the higher ups going to change next!!! ??
Urbane Cafe
2257 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
?Sit back and a drink, this review comes to you hot and fresh just like the enchilada soup served here at Urbane Café! If you have read any of my other reviews you know that can be kind of lengthy but indeed honest.?☺⛅?(Ambience & seating)Me and the hubby visited Urbane Café one Sunday 2/28/2021 for afternoon lunch. We thought the sitting arrangements would be difficult because there possibly might be a Sunday lunch rush, to me pleasant surprise though, there was plenty and adequate seating. There is currently no inside dining but there are unshaded tables on their walkway out front. These tables get a little hot being in the afternoon sun, but it is welcomed with the cool breeze. There is also a white pop-up tent set outside in the parking lot with additional seating in the shade if you burn easy like me lol. It was fenced off from the rest of the parking lot, good to note if you have little children and could possibly be worried about a child running into the parking area. There is music playing next to the uncovered tables but cannot be heard from the shaded seating, shaded seating is accompanied by car engines and horns.??(Food & Taste)The menu has 9+ deliciously hand-crafted sandwiches, 6 salad combos, 2 protein bowls and 3 soups, that offer a variety of diverse flavor to meet everyone's picky palettes. This establishment also offers a child's menu for your picky little one equipped with a pb&j on their “fresh baked-everyday in house” (Owner) focaccia bread and a handful of other kiddo approved dishes like grilled cheese, etc.… What did we order? We shared their fresh warm bread with a dipping aioli type sauce that had a sweet vinegar dressing consistency, tri-tip sandwich, southwest sandwich, Baja enchilada soup, and a lemon cookie. The sandwiches came with a side salad that consisted of mixed greens with feta crumbles and mandarin oranges lightly drizzled with their aioli house dressing. The sandwiches were fresh and cooked to perfection, the tri-tip was not underdone and my chicken in the southwest wasn't overly cooked and was not dry. The Baja enchilada soup was my personal favorite out of this meal; rich, creamy, and packed a flavor punch with beans, corn, and roasted tomatoes. The soup was extremely hot when it was first brought out so a note here to my reader is to let it cool first, especially if you are feeding it to your kids. For the end of meal, we shared a fresh warm lemon cookie that was a bit tart for my liking, but it did have a ribbon of cream cheese in the middle of the cookie to calm down the tartness of the cookie. Overall, the bread is the clear winner here and I hope they never stop making in fresh in house, this bread is better than most others “compliment bread” and paying the $2.50 for it is well WORTH it!??(Final thoughts & improvements)1️⃣.) Overall the food was incredibly fresh and the owner being there and greeting all new patrons with a smile was a plus. I Would highly recommend eating here and trying the food. The food is geared towards a more health-conscious look but still delicious and satisfying. 2️⃣.) They had all their cookies that were freshly made displayed in the front next to the cashier behind glass of course which is a good sell tactic, you and your children will want one on impulse. 3️⃣.) ?Mask's? yes. Wear your mask and stay safe. Every employee was wearing one including the owner and it felt completely safe ordering our food inside.?Improvements?I would love if there could be low music inside the shaded seating as well to help distract from the street noise. Disability Accessibility, there was a ramp, but the order line and sidewalk are very narrow. The menu was printed on the wall and difficult to read, I would definitely recommend having a few printed menus for those who can't read the one on the wall, as well as a few picture menus as well for those who can't speak.

I had the chicken Tikka masala at this restaurant, but I did not enjoy it. The sauce was too creamy and all I could taste was the cream. It tasted like a mix of Trader Joes creamy tomato soup and garam masala, and the portion was very small. I paid $33 plus tip for four items, which were sold separately: chicken, rice, roti, and chai tea. The rice was okay, but the roti was chewy, like when bread gets stale. The chai tea was also flavorless and small. Although the place looked great and had good reviews, I was disappointed in the dish. However, the customer service was excellent, so most of my stars are due to this. I placed my order to go.
The Pickled Deli - Visalia
4130 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
I have always admired owners who actually go into their businesses, work and connect with their customers. My husband and I popped in for a quick lunch and immediately felt the love as the owner (we did not get his name and I wish I had) and his staff welcomed us. While ordering Mr. owner let us know that he brought back the original French fries Deli D used to serve, which in my opinion were some of the best beer battered fries I've ever had. On top of that, while waiting for our meals, he offered us a sample of his fried pickles, which were so delicious that they did not even need any sauce on the side and of course, we went back later to get an order for mom to try. For lunch I had the #5 vegetarian sandwich on wheat. The bread was nicely toasted and the veggies had a nice fresh taste to them, it paired well with the cream cheese and sprouts. My husband had the #1 Turkey sandwich and he says he loved the fact that it was not only tasty but the presentation was nice as well. When we returned later that day, the staff recognized us (even with our masks) and offered us a sample of their soup. I had the tomato basil soup and my husband had the chicken enchilada soup. The tomato basil was so creamy and full of flavor, i cannot wait to go back and eat a bowl with a sandwich! My husband said the chicken enchilada soup was creamy as well and didn't taste like any he's had before, both soups are perfect for a cold rainy day in Visalia! Overall, we really appreciate the team there and the food and will definitely be returning. I hope this review is helpful to those curious about Pickled Deli (used to be known as Deli D) on Mooney Blvd. and I truly hope you stop by for some fried pickles! They are the yummiest! We wish all the best to Pickled Deli & will see you soon.
Kaen Na Ramen & Sushi
3109 W Noble Ave, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
If the restaurant is rated by hostess attitude and enthusiasm, this restaurant can get 4 stars, but as a ramen restaurant, or as a restaurant, it can be rated 2 stars. I give it an average 3 stars. Ramen is swallowable, but soup base is definitely not ramen soup, egg is done wrong, pork is actually normal roast pork- not bad but cant say good, supposed to be slow cooked and should not be using bbq sauce with that pork. Worse is its noodle, its bad noodle that also over cooked. Rice in sushi were jasmine rice, please improve on basic Japanese food if you want to be a Japanese restaurant, you have to use sushi rice and vinegars, and you shouldnt rolled them into rectangles. After driving hours from city and hungry for good food and got in the restaurant with a 4.9 rating, have to say we were disappointed and annoyed.
Simply Mediterranean
2226 S Mooney Blvd # A5, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
On our way from Yosemite to Sequoia, I was tasked with finding a Halal restaraunt on the way. I stumbled across this place and decided to give it a go based on the reviews and pictures. Needless to say none of that does this place justice. We were met with immediate hospitality, didnt have to wait long for food, and the food itself TASTED fresh, companied with some crisp cold water on this hot Monday afternoon. Take it from me, someone who traveled all the way from Virginia, this place is the best Halal restaurant in the Fresno area. If I ever find myself back in the west coast, you can consider this a must-try.Food: 5 stars - fresh, delicious, and fillingCustomer Service: 5 stars - sweet lady at the front, very caring and made sure all of our needs were metAtmosphere: 4 stars - love the cultural integration with the interior design and music
Sushi Kuu
509 E Main St, Visalia, CA 93292, United States
Hands down the best sushi in town! Came here for my birthday and absolutely loved every roll we tried. The restaurant is really modern with brick walls and cool bistro lights inside. Perfect spot for a nice lunch of a date night. Price is typical for a sushi place but they do have great lunch specials that include a miso soup or salad.
Good Times Cafe
4132 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, United States
⭐Good times Cafe is a good choice. We are the regulars here and get recognized when we come in. Its the best for when you just want a delicious home style burger with juicy Harris ranch beef patties? The only place in the valley that proudly says what kind of beef they use for thier patties right inside the printed menu. They take a little bit of time to prepare and cook your food but this isnt a fast food joint. You come here to watch I love Lucy and talk to your date over a hand crafted milkshake. The kids shakes are a good treat on hot days, and if your feeling adventurous, Definitely try out the new monster sized milkshakes that are special to the months of the year. This month its a st.patricks day themed milkshake, topped with Swiss rolls, shamrock sprinkles, and a slice of chocolate cake ☘️!. Yeah you heard that right, a milkshake so fitting for the season, and you can easily share it between you and your party. ? Burgers not your thing, honey? Thats okay, because thier breakfast also rocks my roll. Thier breakfast foods are fairly newer but a Definite do again, and the atmosphere is just on par with the food. Take your date and your taste buds down to this jiving 50s joint and enjoy your food in a fun way. I am not sponsored or affiliated with these cool cats but man do I wish I was. Its family owned and operated, the staff is friendly, and it just feels right. So lets get this show on the road! Come on down?
