Anh Hong Saigon

The first time I came here must have been over 10 years ago. I don't think the items changed, but prices must have gone up through inflation. The first course was the house special beef salad. The beef was scarce or so minced that some folks thought it was chicken or pork. It was quite refreshing, but felt that the beef disappeared. The second course was the lukewarm pot shaba-shabu style. The heat was low and took a while to cook the rare beef. Not that the beef needed to be well cooked. The idea of this was nice, but the reality was different. Then came the heavy weights and probably the stars of the 7-course beef: One plate that had steamed beef patties, beef sausages, beef rolls and beef wrapped in leaves. With the 2 kinds of fish sauce (one that looked almost nasty but packed a punch of shrimp paste) as dip, these four different beef items were delicious. The dipping of the rice paper and adding veggies and meat to create the wrap was fun initially, but I got lazy later on. The staff forgot about the last course until we asked - the beef porridge. The porridge was flavorful, but I had only one thin beef strip in it.We also heard that the cat fish was good so we got a medium one. I'm not a cat fish person, but I felt it was tasty enough. I was lucky to try this dish as we had a huge group. Overall, not a bad meal, but for the salad and the porridge, beef was an after-thought. They could have replaced the beef with another meat and it would not have made much difference. I gave this place 3.5 stars. The service was lacking since it was a busy Saturday night. A few people had asked for chili sauce 2-3 times, but it never came. Since we had 10 people, the service fee was automatically added at 20%. With a required 20% fee, I expected better service. Thus, rounded down to 3 stars. It's good to try it once, but probably don't need to go back often.
Kalesa
1783 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Went there yesterday service no comment but first is no condiments on the table like salt pepper vinegar, second your plate are to big and the shape does not apply on your servings meaning dinner plates are too big not enough space on the table you should have exact size of your bowl or serving plates for any types of order that way it's not too crowded on the table even if the customer has a lot of order. There is a lot of different plates for exact amount of order . Third your music kalesa is the name Tagalog your ambience and music should be Tagalog not English, we have a lot of OPM music and good artist in our country pls. this is a filipino restaurant let's advertise it and be proud of it . Last but not the least is your RICE I'm not expecting a very good quality rice but not as dark as yesterday “May Amoy Pa” I know my self that we have a cheap rice here but it's not brown as we have yesterday “NAKAKAHIYA” we want steam WHITE rice not like in the Philippines na NFA RICE rice lang yan.And put some native decorations I'm proud to recommend this restaurant but please try to make better your food is very good . And I would recommend this restaurant to other people .Make us proud this is the only decent restaurant that we have here as far as I know . My family and I we love your food .And you place are big but I notice it's not organizedBe hide the kitchen messy . And the bathroom I notice all the Filipino restaurants here in San JoseRestroom is also and junk room . I remember the first time I went there “maayos pa sya “but now hmm…… I know everything is expensive here but if you have nice place good ambiance clean area and specially good food more customers will be happy and more recommendations will come .This is just an advise but I hope you will consider itThank you ?
Thaibodia Bistro - Milpitas
338 S Main St, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This is their second location. Opened a few months ago...Welcome to Milpitas. The first one is in Campbell.Thaibodia Bistro is not a traditional Thai restaurant. Its more of a Thai, and Cambodian fusion along with traditional dishes as well. The portions are on the generous side, definitely bring an appetite. The staff is friendly and efficient. The venue had a lot of open space, especially in the middle. Im guessing they will fill it up with more seats once they start getting busier. Some delicious Southeast Asian eats:~ C5 - SALAW MACHU KTISS - 4.5/5A Cambodian style stew: sign me up! Love meself some Cambodian food. So many ingredients in here! Tasty, lots flavor...a good balance of everything. Not overpowering in any way. I did think the Chicken was a bit overcooked though.~ FIVE FLAVOR - 4/5This is more of an Asian fusion dish. So Orange...Slightly Sweet to start, but then the spices start to kick it. You can taste a variety of spices. While it gave me the spice sweats, it didnt linger and wasnt overly spicy. I ordered this dish Medium.~ GARLIC BUTTER - 4.5/5One of their Signature Chicken dishes. A lot going on here, its a hearty dish. I recommend a side, rice or noodles to compliment this one. Also make sour to eat it when its warm and crispy. This is one dish you cant let sit...unless youre a fan of soggy chicken.

Getting the good stuff out of the way first. This is my go to theater and as usual the theater was clean, seats were easy to find (assigned seating is amazing), had no issues during the film (sound, picture, etc.)Unfortunately the wait time on pizza is always bad, anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Even getting to the theater early its an inconvenience that its ready to grab 1/5 visits. My main issue with my visit today (5/28) was that my boyfriend grabbed their chicken tenders & fries for $7.00+ (this was our first time getting them) and when he opened the box in the theater he realized it was ONLY chicken tenders.I told him to give me the box and I would go and talk to someone but he wanted to watch the movie so we waited. After the movie I went to customer service (with said box), the guy there was friendly and was able to get me a manager (who didnt bother giving me his name) and I asked him if the chicken tenders & fries were supposed to come with fries. He simply told me that fries is supposed to be crossed out. Clearly it wasnt so, naturally, we were expecting fries in the container. I also told him they should make sure theyre crossing it off because the next customer might not be as friendly as myself.Unfortunately I felt as if he was tired of me talking to him (the whole exchange was under 60 seconds) and even asked if that was all I needed/if I needed anything else. There was no resolution. A refund or partial refund would have been ideal considering the false advertisement but a massive headache kept me from pressing the issue.I definitely feel unnamed manager could have handled that much better with an approach that didnt come off as him not wanting to deal with me or the issue.
Layang Layang Malaysian Cuisine

This is by far my favorite southeast Asian restaurant in the area. Ive been here many times, and been extremely happy every time. Must try items are Mee Goreng, Roti Canai, Spicy Crispy Calamari, and their Thai Iced Tea. I get those almost every time I go.Its a large place thats always crowded (regardless of when you go), but Ive never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.Service is very prompt and helpful, and the food is out VERY fast (within 5ish minutes of ordering). Even so, the food is fresh and doesnt leave the I wonder if this was cooked before I ordered and sat out question in your mind.Prices are also extremely fair and you get a good amount of food.
Great Mall
447 Great Mall Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
The Great Mall in Milpitas, near San Francisco, is one of the largest indoor outlet shopping destinations in Northern California. It boasts a vast array of brand stores, offering a wide variety of products ranging from clothing and accessories to electronics and home goods. Among its numerous retailers, youll find popular names like Coach, Michael Kors, and Victorias Secret, catering to diverse shopping preferences. The malls extensive selection includes affordable options at outlets such as H&M and Uniqlo, making it accessible for budget-conscious shoppers. Simultaneously, it houses high-end stores like Kate Spade and Versace, appealing to those seeking luxury items. This variety ensures that whether youre looking for everyday wear or something more upscale, the Great Mall has something for everyone. In addition to fashion, the Great Mall features specialty stores offering watches, jewelry, and unique items from shops like Pandora and Swarovski. For those interested in a different kind of shopping experience, there are also entertainment options and a food court with a range of dining choices. One aspect that might be less appealing to visitors from the Middle East is the malls closing time. Most stores in the Great Mall close by 8:00 PM, which is earlier compared to the shopping hours in many Middle Eastern countries, where shops often remain open until 11:00 PM, and dinner is enjoyed as late as midnight. This earlier closing time can be a bit disappointing for those who are accustomed to late-night shopping and dining.
Banana Leaf Restaurant

We were a group of nine people who reserved a table ahead of time. Since it was a big crowd we shared our food. We ordered appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert. A couple of people ordered separately as take out for their home. The service was good and we were meeting after a long time hence, didnt pay much attention to anything but went with the flow. It was not even closing time but the waitress came and told us the kitchen is going to close and so the moment we heard this we rushed to order more as some of them were strict vegetarians. But we realized the kitchen was not closing that soon. Anyway, when it came to paying the bill, it was decided the take out items will be paid by the individuals. We asked for the bill and saw that our bill included the service charge and then for take out there was a service charge included too. This seemed very strange as for takeout how can you ask for a service charge? Our friend asked the waitress, to which she responded- when you come in a group and ask for takeout, its a lot of work for us to fill in a box hence the service charge. This reason didnt seem reasonable hence my friend asked for the manager. The manager came and was already in an apologetic mode. My friend explained the situation and the manager without asking anything further did a refund for all the takeout items and apologized on behalf of his staff. The other thing, I had ordered a cocktail and I didnt want that to be included in the group bill. Hence ahead of time I requested the waitress to not include the price for cocktail in the main bill and I will pay it separately. She agreed and got my cocktail bill. Later while we were checking our main bill to make sure we were paying for what we ordered, to our surprise, the waitress added the cocktail bill in the main bill as well as she gave a separate bill to me which I had requested. The food was great and I have been going to this place since 2005. I always enjoyed the food, service and the manager was a nice person then too. This time I learned a lesson, always check your bill and when in doubt ask for the manager as he will never be wrong.
Milpitas Town Center

Safeway, Staples, Jamba Juice, and Keypoint Credit Union all close together. There is a 24 hour Fitness and a Bev-Mo near by. You can go to the gym for your morning workout, stop by Jamba Juice and Noahs Bagel for breakfast. Then over to Keypoint to get pre-approval for that new car loan then into Safeway to pick up your groceries (grab a coffee from the Starbucks while you shop). Next is Bev-Mo to get a bottle or two of painkiller. Time for lunch! You have a great selection of restaurants to choose from: New Tung Kee Noodle, El Torritos, IHop, Panda Express, Erics Deli, Cheese steak, Red Lobster, Wing Stop ... Way too many choices. Its a good place to go.
Marina Grocery
25 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This Marina Grocery provides you a one-stop location, not only for your Chinese groceries, but Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and more. The store offers an extensive selection of fruits and vegetables, aisles and aisles of foodstuffs, fresh meats, seafood, wine, a bakery, and hot entrees and bbq deli items (roast duck, pork, etc.) at very competitive prices. This place is the best if youre searching for any kind of Asian groceries around Milpitas. The store is rather crowded on weekend afternoons, but its worth it!My favorite areas in the supermarket are the snack aisle (buy ALL the Asian goodies!!) and the bread/pastry area further into the store. They also have a good selection of meat at a decent price – my sister visits the section almost every weekend. As for customer service, the cashiers are pretty friendly, and definitely get their job done. They warm up to you more if you speak to them in Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese.
