Sadly, I have been seeing the quality going down over time. At the beginning, the chickpeas were crunchy and tomatoes seasoned. They no longer carry the delicious green olives or black beans. Also, please consider not putting the sauce containers inside the salad containers after putting them down on the dirty countertop. Not the most hygienic.———This place has become a new favorite! Yesterday was my first time. I got the hummus crunch salad and it was absolutely delicious!!!! I added chicken to it. The pesto dressing was divine. Ingredients are super fresh and I love that they locally farm source everything!I first thought price was a bit steep around $17 (w/added chicken) but the ingredients are premium quality and their salads are big enough for two meals, so if you look at it that way, it is not bad.Staff was very friendly.I can't wait to try their other salads and hope the quality will be consistent over time.

My partner and I wanted something fresh and healthy for dinner so we put in an order online for pick up. I got the chimichurri grass fed steak and she got the braised beef.We werent far away and it was ready by the time we got there. It couldnt have been more than 10 minutes. When we got there, we were greeted very warmly by Aliett (Im very sorry because this is almost assuredly not how her name is spelled). I saw a stack of desserts and asked my partner if she wanted any and she said no, but I really wanted the mango tart. Our gracious host offered it to us on the house, which I thought was very kind. The steak was perfectly rare. So many places can barely get medium-rare done properly and even fewer can do a rare steak, which is the way I prefer it. The chimichurri was decent. It was a little oil heavy and the ingredients werent very finely chopped, but overall, it tasted ok. The mashed potatoes were not great. They were dry and even though it was decently flavored, it was merely a step above boxed mashed potatoes. The gravy was probably the most bland Ive ever had. It tasted like slightly flavored cornstarch and water. Im glad I tasted it before I poured it on my mashed potatoes because that would have made them worse, if that was even possible. The tomato soup was fantastic. Simple, sweet, and savory. I prefer a less tart tomato soup so this hit the spot. The braised beef was excellent. I only got to try one bite, but it was very good. It was flavorful and Im thinking Ill get that next time so I can have more than one bite. The mango tart was light and fresh. It wasnt overly sweet, which is how I prefer my desserts. I really dislike thick crusts and this was light and very easy to eat. I had a hard time sharing.Overall, I really enjoyed this place. Ill be coming back if for no other reason than to get the braised beef for myself.
Yard House
2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
I recently visited Yard House and I have to say, I was quite impressed. Overall, I would give it a solid 4 stars out of 5.The atmosphere of the restaurant was very lively and energetic. The dim lighting and upbeat music created a fun and casual vibe. The decor was modern and trendy, adding to the overall ambiance. The menu was extensive and offered a wide variety of options from burgers and sandwiches to salads and seafood. I especially appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options, as I have dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. The portion sizes were also generous, making it a great value for the price. One of the highlights of my experience at Yard House was the service. Our server was attentive and friendly, and made great recommendations for drinks and food. The drink menu was impressive, with a large selection of beers on tap and handcrafted cocktails. I highly recommend trying their signature sangria. The only reason I did not give Yard House a full 5 stars is because of the noise level. The restaurant was quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. However, this did not take away from the overall experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend Yard House for a fun and delicious dining experience. The food, drinks, and service were all top-notch and I will definitely be returning in the future.
Taco Bell
745 Carlsbad Village Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
The location made an error on their end and despite my multiple attempts to ask the manager to double-check, they did not rectify the situation. The manager, though initially professional, made an unnecessary comment when handing me my food, stating that he is only doing it for my children. To add to my frustration, when I scanned my Apple Pay, it showed that the order was processed 3 hours ago, indicating a system error. After a long and challenging day in a city where I dont live, I didnt deserve to feel even worse after spending all the money I had left for the day at this establishment. I am planning to contact someone higher up to address this issue. I have attached proof of payment to support my claim. Furthermore, I returned to the store and made another purchase using the original payment method to gather technical information for customer support. I have uploaded proof that their system is not accurately recording transactions, leading to order errors and potentially overcharging customers who encounter this issue.
Pieology Pizzeria Bressi Village, Carlsbad, CA

Where to begin.. I stopped by here because Doordash gives me 21% off here for being a driver. I placed an order online and was surprised when it said it would take 15 minutes. Upon arriving it was a complete ghost town inside, I was the only customer. Still, it took about 10 minutes and I was not greeted by staff (a group of teenagers) who were chatting loudly among themselves while I was just sort of there, being ignored. Their conversion was insensitive and questionable. Anything that should be included in the price of the pizza is not, from the normal non-thin crust to a side of ranch costing $1 extra. I used the restroom while I was waiting and it was quite dirty with graffiti and it had 2 soap dispensors but both were out of soap. To think that employees had the same problem is concerning. I ordered the vegan meatballs on the pizza but the website did not inform me that this location was actually out of that, but the guy who made the pizza gave me an inferior mysterious substitute. As far as the pizza itself goes, it was boring and forgettable and not worth $15 in any way, shape, or form. Oddly enough it tasted like it had zero salt and the bottom was burned somehow (see photo) Ive had better pizza from no-name small business markets. Avoid this business by all costs.
Taco Bell

Service here is really bad. First off, if you go inside, be prepared to wait a long time for your order. 10-15 minutes wait easily, even if you order just 1 or 2 items. They focus on drive thru, dont consider you important if eat inside. I get it, a lot of places are short staffed and all that, but the fact they dont really even acknowledge your presence even if youre standing at the front counter.Went through the drive thru a few times, last time they didnt even include napkins in the bag. (Found out after I drove away and stopped to eat.) The same guy didnt ask if I wanted hot sauce, I had to ask myself. These are just basics of fast food service and they dont do these very simple things.Went inside to eat another time, the employee there informs me theyre out of nacho fries for the nachos fries box, offers me a cinnamon twists as a substitute. I say thats fine and ask if we can get the nacho cheese since it comes with the nachos fries but he says I cant do that for you since youre not getting nachos fries. (SOOOO ITS NOT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT THAT YOURE OUT OF AN ITEM, ITS THE RESTAURANTS FAULT YOU DIDNT ORDER/PREPARE ENOUGH. AND ITS ADVERTISED ALL OVER YOUR FRIGGIN MENU BOARD. AND YOU REFUSE TO INCLUDE A SIMPLE ITEM (THAT ONLY COSTS 50 CENTS) THAT IS ALREADY IN THE VALUE MEAL THAT I PAID FOR?!?!) That part didnt even seem the worst of it. The same guy (didnt get his name, they dont wear name badges-- Hispanic male in his 20s) who refused this places the order on the counter (and didnt give out my drink--which is included in the value meal--without me asking for it). The bag falls over, he doesnt say sorry, the cinnamon twists fall out onto the counter and I stand there thinking hes going to apologize or something and replace them with cinnamon twists that havent touched the counter and get this-- the guy PICKS UP THE CINNAMON TWISTS THAT FELL ON THE COUNTER WITH HIS DIRTY GLOVES AND SHOVES THEM BACK INTO MY BAG! Doesnt say sorry for it and doesnt offer to replace the contaminated ones until I basically beg for it! Very bad customer service, no regard for customers food safety and very disappointed!
Nekter Juice Bar
2647 Gateway Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
I only go here because its the closest juice place near my job. The juice is okay, drinkable.I would say that the service is pretty wack. Thats right, wack. Once I ordered my juice and after almost 20 minutes, had to go back to the counter to check up on it. Come to find out, my juice was done and sitting on the counter for who-knows how long. I dont know why any of those kids working back there didnt even try to call my name or acknowledge that my juice was ready.Another time I ordered online to try and avoid a reoccurring incident as the last. The website noted that I could skip the line when I arrived, but when I walked up to the pick up counter to inquire about my order, no one came! The girl taking orders for people in line didnt acknowledge me at all so I just waited, thinking they would call my name when the order was done. A few minutes after my order time as scheduled online, I realized that I need to take action, so I stood in line, asked about my order and the girl walks to the back fridge and pulls out my order. Guess what? You CANT skip the line! If you dont stand in it, you wont get your order.Lame.

Mexico City Cuisine
3146 Tiger Run Ct #111, Carlsbad, CA 92010, United States
Mexico City Cuisine did the catering for my wedding and I cannot speak highly enough about them. Here are a few great things:1. They worked with me on a special diet. This was particularly amazing because what we were looking for (vegan) was far from their norm. But Leo was open minded and helpful and creative. Also, we remembered an allergy issue at the last minute and he created a special meal for that person.2. They were so easy to work with beforehand and very friendly the day of. Everyone we interacted with was responsive and helpful. I never felt like they had dropped the ball--which was really different from other caterers I considered. I also had *several* people--totally unsolicited--tell me at the wedding how friendly they were. Just so nice and helpful and great.3. The food was SO good. Again, so many people told me how good it was. And this was despite the fact that no one else at the wedding was vegan.4. The venue was so impressed by how friendly and clean they were that they asked for their information so that they could make them a preferred provider.I honestly could not recommend them more highly.
Carlsbad Food Tours
2897 State Street: Parking Lot with fountain, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
We loved this tour. Ben Mastracco was very engaging and will informed. He gave interesting facts and history about the city and the eateries as well as holding conversations with the guests. One of the cool things that I liked about this is Bens knowledge of food, nutrition, cooking, science and history. What a perfect combination for a food and wine tour guide. Plus he is always looking for more historical information and ways to improve the experience. The portions were surprisingly large compared to other food tours weve been on. And everything was quite tasty & ell worth price, imh. It was a relaxing pleasure from start to finish. (The only things I would add are asking at the time of reservation for any food allergies or intolerances, announcing bathroom breaks and giving each person a water bottle.) And the eye candy is just an added bonus! ?
The Red Chickz - Carlsbad
2525 El Camino Real UNIT 217, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Its always exciting to see some of LAs best food places making a new home in San Diego and this new Red Chickz..... Ive gotta say.... its a game changer in the Nashville hot chicken scene here but they go beyond that too. Its places like this that make you realize Red Chickz cares about the craft, and places like Daves Hot Chicken is just a cash grab.Lets start with their signature Nashville hot chicken. The flavor hits you with that perfect blend of heat and spice, but what really sets it apart is the fresh, hand-breaded goodness. Every bite is a crispy, juicy delight - its like a little taste of Southern comfort right here in Cali. It will confuse you why you havent experienced eating chicken like this before, very unique experience. But hold up, its not just about chicken here. I tried their fish taco, and man, it was a revelation! The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked, nestled in a soft taco with just the right amount of toppings. Its like a seaside trip in a bite.Shrimp taco? Yes, please! These little beauties were packed with flavor, and the shrimp were cooked to perfection - not too rubbery, not too soft. Its a seafood lovers dream. Now, lets talk about the cauliflower taco. I was skeptical at first, but wow, was I wrong! Its a veggie masterpiece, bursting with flavors and textures thatll make even the most devout carnivores pause for thought.Cheese curds and potato wedges? These sides were no afterthought. The cheese curds were gooey and delightful, a perfect contrast to the crispiness of the potato wedges. Each wedge was like a mini flavor bomb - crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. And dont get me started about the corn ribs. That is such a clever idea and it tasted fantastic. In all honesty, I wanted to try every item on the menu but I was gasping for air towards the end at least I have so much more to look forward to try and eat.The vibe of the place? Super chill and welcoming. Perfect for hanging out with friends/family or grabbing a quick bite thats miles away from the ordinary. Its even a perfect spot to grab a bite with a coworker during your lunch break! The Red Chickz isnt just another Nashville hot chicken joint. Its a fusion of classic Southern cooking with a fresh, SoCal twist. If you havent tried it yet, youre missing out. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
