Teriyaki Grill
380 3rd Ave B, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
What a lovely, CLEAN, casual atmosphere on 3rd Avenue! The employees are kind and attentive and the food is freshly prepared but... The portions were very disappointing. We enjoyed a very tasty salmon bento box but... for $18+ you would expect to get a decent portion of rice to go with the salmon filet (decent portion of salmon but I was struggling to find any rice or Teriyaki sauce on the plate! See picture.) The vegetables were delicious!!! Only two, tiny fried gyoza come on a small bed of mixed salad. The ginger dressing for the salad is served separately and was good but it was so much compared to the amount of salad you get.The actual white plate that the food comes on is huge and adds to the illusion that the food portion is small, which it totally is. It did not scream bento box.The lemongrass curry sauce on the wings was super yummy even though the wings could have been much crispier. They have canned sodas, canned Thai tea and green tea, Sapporo and other beers.I would reluctantly go back to try some other menu items but I wont expect good portions.
Agave Coffee & Caf
303 H St, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
My wife and I visited the bank that is next door to Agave Coffee and Cafe and decided to give it a try for the first time. I ordered their biggest iced tea that they had to offer for which I was charged $3.53. When they gave it to me the cup looked small when compared to other competitors similar large iced tea offerings. I asked the waitress if it was really the largest cup and she confirmed it. The size of the cup according to their menu is 20 ounces. One thing that irritated me was not the small cup vs price ratio but the fact that they filled it with around 50% ice and the rest was the actual tea. It felt like I finished it soon after I started drinking it. Later that same day I visited one of Agaves competitors and ordered a large iced tea. The size of their cup was 30 ounces and the ice vs tea ratio was around 10% ice and 90% tea. The cup was huge and I was only charged $3.45 for it. I was charged 8 cents less than agave on a larger cup with less ice and a ton more tea. Better value in my mind. I must be fair and say that I cannot form an opinion on Agave in general just on a one time visit but for now that is my first impression and it was not good. In my mind value is almost as important as service and the quality of the product. Hopefully on my second try ordering different food items (not ordering tea anymore) my review of Agave improves.

Food is as expected, service is horrible.Write this as I sit in the drive thru for a second time for an online order placed 10 minutes prior. Waited 30 minutes the first time. Got to the speaker box and worker tells me to pull forward to the window without me saying anything. Pull up to the window and she tries charging me for the order of the car behind me ( whose order she did take ). I tell her I have an online order and provide a name. She says there is no order under that name. I show her the order information and she says it's not here. I double check the address show her and she says it's not on her computer. She then tells me to park in front. I do and wait a the front door since its closed. No one acknowledges.I get back in the drive thru and have been here for about 25 minutes about to ask for my order again. App shows order as complete. After 1 hour ( total time here ) I pulled up to the box and was told to wait. I gave the order name again and was told to pull up to the window. Asked for a refund and was told they can't do a refund that it needs to be done to be on the app.Was told the system is slow. Could have at least acknowledged me when I was at the front door waiting. What a waste of time.
Tropical Oasis
417 Telegraph Canyon Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
Unfortunately there is only 5 stars to choose from because for sure hands down with out a doubt Tropical Oasis is worth 10 plus stars! The fruit is always the freshest, the food is always perfect and on point and the drinks are refreshing healthy and definitely thirst quenching. If that wasnt enough the entire staff is so kind and helpful. You will never find them with out a smile. I have been coming for years and will continue to come forever. Ive always recommend this place to all my friends and family. I live 2 minutes from a similar store and wouldnt even consider stepping foot inside not as long as Tropical Oasis is in business. Hats off to the Management/owners for having an amazing judge of character and always hiring the best employees. You can count on having this big white guy coming in ordering his Acai bowl with everything on it multiple times a week. Thanks
Nekter Juice Bar
1741 Eastlake Pkwy, Chula Vista, CA 91915, United States
My friend and I came here after our morning walk. There is plenty of parking available in the lot. The servers werent the friendliest and very unwelcoming when we walked in. The restroom had no paper towels and no toilet paper. I mentioned it multiple times to the workers and they ignored me and did not budge to put anything in the restroom. In terms of food, I ordered the banana berry açaí bowl and was very unimpressed. I got it with peanut butter and the amount they give is tiny. The açaí itself seemed very watered down and lacked flavor. Will not be coming back to this place.

I’m a huge fan of their delicious NUTRIENT dense food. Probably the healthiest “fast food” in a five mile radius. My bf is not able to eat food that has a lot of fat due to a sensitive gallbladder and we can always find something fun and mindful to eat here.Very grateful for this branch! We have a monthly subscription in Los Angeles and I am so happy to see them expanding.I would recommend starting a subscription if you are interested. New customers get a discount and you can send referrals to others for $40 to start theirs.. I have one for my mom and now my homegirl who is trying to get sober and doesn’t have the energy to cook and also doesn’t currently have a kitchen..This food will bring you back to life!Sincerely,Eight years vegan/vegetarian eater + happy, someone who has explored every vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Los Angeles. You cannot believe how excited I was to see a Chinese restaurant opening up. And when I visited the first time, I found that it was actually an AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant. And when I say authentic, I truly mean people and cooks speaking in Chinese - both Mandarin and Cantonese! But that wasn't all… the food is absolutely yummy and to get soup dumplings, yummy pan fried dumplings and noddles within walkable distance… I am so tempted to go every week!My kids love the string beans… and that's a complete win! My two older love the dumplings and my husband even said the beef ribs soup was pretty good!I'm definitely a fan and will be heading there more! The menu is small, but everything is made with a lot of thought and done so well!So support local business and head over and try them out!
Lollicup Tea Zone
1550 E H St UNIT H, Chula Vista, CA 91913, United States
I have been coming here for over 10 years. I gotta say Im now sad I have to find a new spot. The new owners are messing with the original recipes so the consistency of the drink i once love and grabbed weekly is no longer an option for me. The quality of the drink is not there anymore. Now lets talk customer service, it seems that new owners son has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and doesnt quit know how to handle situations that may arise. After and unfortunate incident of a dropped drink I asked my drink to be replaced only to be treated as if I wanted to get things for free. He quickly need a break and his in the back to avoid me. I asked at least that my cup be replaced to hope to enjoy what I could salvage from my drink, to once again be treated as if I was a burden. Half the drink was on the floor ! To my disappointment even that was asking to much from them. Although they did re cup my drink, it was done so in a degrading manner. Iv dropped drinks at Starbucks and then workers there heal the situation without leaving me feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable. Would it really break the bank to replace 1 drink. Would it really cost too much to make 1 humiliated guest happy. As if I wasnt already feeling embarrassed that the drink dropped, lets add insult to injury and make me feel uncomfortable and unwanted. I couldnt wait to get out of there and am definitely not comfortable going back. What once was an sweet spot for my boba, is now a bitter unpleasant place that makes you feel unwelcome. Good luck new owners! Beware loyals that have been around awhile and have been accustom to what once was a safe un judgemental let your guards down place!
Mujer Divina Burrito & Coffee House Chula Vista
218 Third Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910, United States
Updated Review 6/24Exceptional experience! It was my second visit, and I am so happy that I came back to give Mujer Divina. I had an iced latte with not sugar but with cinnamon, a Birria Campechano, and a Machaca Ranchera Burrito.First of all, the iced latte was very good. It was not only refreshing but also very tasty. The espresso flavor was very good and on the strong side a bit, but in a good way.Although both burrito was terrific, the birria campechano was my favorite. The flavor of the beef Consommé was outstanding. It was rich in flavor from the beef, mixture of peppers, herbs, and spice, not to mention the 30 hours of slow braising that brought the flavors to their best level. This particular burrito also came with beans, onions, cilantro, and cheese.I loved the way they griddle the burritos on the hot griddle to the flour tortillas that great flavor and texture. Just like Mama used to make them. The service was very friendly and sweet. I like that they have outside tables now!____________________________________I stopped in this new Mujer Divina location in Chula Vista and ordered a Machaca Ranchero Burrito, and I wanted a cortado, but they said they dont make them, so I asked for an espresso shot, but nope they dont do that either. I couldnt understand because I was staring right at an espresso machine on the counter. Finally, the young lady spoke up and said, we can make an Americano, and I said to her, well if you can make an Americano, you can certainly make a cortado and at the very least an espresso shot. The Americano was what I had to settle with because she just starred at me for a moment and then giggled. They do have a lot of lattes on the menu, however. Oh yes, they overcharged me for the Americano. The menu has it for $5.50, but they charged me $7 plus tax. The iced Americano with whole milk was good. I did not like them over charging me for, though. The Machaca Ranchero Burrito was tasty, and the meat was very tender, but they missed the mark on the salt. It was over salty. I did like the flavor of the sauce the meat came in. It reminded me of my mothers recipe fromCuliacán, Mexico.Customer service was friendly enough. They offer limited seating inside and outside. They should set up some tables outside. Theres a good amount of sidewalk space.
The Empanada Spot
1223 3rd Ave C-1, Chula Vista, CA 91911, United States
I came across some reviews for Empanada Spot and decided we MUST drive down to give them a try. We love well made empanadas and this place, specializing in a Mexican version of empanadas made with love, didn't disappoint at all.We were greeted by an extremely friendly and courteous employee as we walked in. I've seen him on the Instagram posts that we checked out beforehand but I forgot to ask his name. We each ordered two on this trip. I had the Quesabirria and The O.G. Empanadas and my partner had the Bean and Cheese and Rajas Empanadas. They both came out pretty quickly and were hot to the touch. They gave us two types of sauce and I had a side of consomé with my Quesabirria empanada. They aren't huge empanadas but being savory we were pretty satisfied with just the two each. They were a perfect brown and had just the right about of crispiness and flakiness on the outside. Inside the birria was tender and juicy and there was plentiful cheese. Dipped in the consomé it was a heavenly bite. The O.G. was more savory with plenty of red sauce, black olives, steak and potatoes. Definitely glad I tried it. My partner loved both the Rajas and the Bean and Cheese options. Both were super cheesy and the sauces were on point. There are limited tables inside as well as a few tables outside. We definitely left knowing we will be back again. I want to try one of the pizza versions and the Shrimp and Cheese next time. My partner has eyes set on the Chipotle Chicken for the next visit.
