Pieology Pizzeria Cypress Village
9543 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
Update: my wife and I have been back a couple times (she really likes the pizza) and it seems like they are working on the customer service. Last time we went in (Saturday March 4th) everyone seemed to be having a better time, smiling and being very friendly. Much better experience, maybe I dont hate this place after all................First time here...but Ive had other similar things before. Probably wont be back.Pizza was good, not great, just good. I like the whole wheat option. And the salad could have been good if...From when we first walked in everyone seems unhappy, or at least like they are waiting to clock out... when we mentioned it was our first time, no one seemed willing to help, they just said something to the effect of, ok...thats great. The store wasnt even that busy. My wife and I put in our initial order then she asked for a salad in addition to her pizza. They pulled a side size salad but she asked about a full size salad which they eventually got for her. Then they didnt explain to her how the toppings worked and just seemed annoyed that she didnt know. So she gave up and didnt put much of anything on her salad.Once we got our pizzas, and as we looked around at the employees, no one seemed to be smiling or enjoying their jobs. My wife and I have vast experience in customer service and management, and this would have really upset us if it was our team. In this city and in this type of location you would expect nothing less than excellence in customet service. A smile and a friendly face goes a long way. Its the little things.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
1090 E Cypress Ave Suite A, Redding, CA 96003, United States
The pizza is consistent but the price keeps going up and the customer service at my last visit was awful. I ordered online 2 adult pizzas and 2 mini make your own. When I get to the store I only find the 2 adult pizzas. The staff will not stop working on the make line to let me ask if this is my whole order they just assumed I had all my items and said I was free to go. so I stand to wait in line to talk to the girl at the register but they all start talking at once instead and inform me that even though I placed my order online 5 hours ago(plan ahead order), that won't guarantee that I get one of the few they make each day. Which is fine but why not call and inform the customer during the 5 hours that when you pick up your pizzas we won't have the kids pizzas? They offer to give me a medium crust that I can top myself which I decline and ask for a refund instead. One of the girls on the makeline takes my receipt and says I will get a refund in 3-5 days, I asked her if she needed my card again then and she says no. I get home and within 20 minutes a gentleman calls me back to tell me when he tried to give the refund it declined the card so I need to come back in and pay. I tell him that I wasn't willing to come back in over $8 and he tells me I still will need to come back because my whole charge won't go through. I tell him I will come back later to deal with it but not that night. The full amount has now cleared on my account and the refund was not issued. I don't care about the money but I will not return to papa Murphy's.

Sandwich House

This is going to be a strange way to describe a Vietnamese banhmi shop, but this is not like any other banh mi shop (any that Ive been to at least). Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by shop owners Vu and his sister Anne, and the other smiley gentleman who made my sandwich in the kitchen. While Vu was kindly going over the menu with me, I was overcome with a sense of peacefulness.. maybe it was the 4pm sun coming through the windows, the old school purple barstools and purple orchids on every table, or even his white hair which made you feel like you were talking to a wise sage. Anyway, I was already having a good experience just ordering my house special sandwich (#1) when it gets even better! His sister comes out from the back and greets me with a bowl of buttery sugary toast and an iced jasmine tea saying she was so happy that I came and wishing me a happy Vietnamese new year and everything. And even when my sandwich came out, the owner handed it to me with both hands and a small head bow, and let me tell you, if youve never felt this level of kindness and respect from a food joint, you need to come experience this for yourself. And since I wasnt expecting so many goodies, I had so many things to carry, so without hesitation, Anne picked everything up, walked me to my car and opened my door for me! I left feeling so taken care of hahah. And later I found two extra cookies in my bag. Anyway, the sandwich was awesome and I like that you can use your debit card here. I know this review was longer than usual, but I had to share my awesome experience. Much gratitude to Sandwich House, I will definitely be coming back soon.
CJ Deli
5491 Ball Rd, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
4.5. 1/2 star loss because they ran out of squaw bread, the reason I was there. Squaw bread is a popular choice. Decided on rye because I like to choose breads that arent typical. Avocado, bacon and turkey on rye instead of squaw. Sounds like an odd combo but it worked. This was hands down one of the best sandwiches Ive had. Bread was fluffy and soft. Avocado and turkey were plentiful. Bacon crispy. Ordered a large combo but should have ordered regular. Will go again. Hopefully, I can score some squaw bread.Update - had #46 deli-k-sea on squaw. Soooo delicious. I had to go back for more. Tuna on squaw bread with avocado and pepper jack cheese. It was all I could think about afterwards. Chef salad was also good. What you dont see is the spinach leaves mixed in, thinly sliced eggs and avocados and shredded carrots.
Newcastle Produce
9230 Cypress St, Newcastle, CA 95658, United States
Have been going to Newcastle Produce for at least 10 years. My sister used to deliver fresh eggs, hence the discovery of this rare fresh produce grocer and deli. We usually purchase as many as possible of the daily, fresh, homemade peanut butter cookies ....which we freeze for afternoon tea. In addition, we choose several of the deli salads and some of the fresh vegetables. Sometimes, we indulge in the homemade salted caramels or other local delights. Always an adventure and great experience-the staff are friendly and offer their best service...if slow, it is because they care about the products they serve! A treasure!!!
Francos Italian Restaurant

Absolutely the best food in this end of town, I live in Redondo Beach, happened by and had no idea of this place. I know great Italian food and this is right up there in quality, service, price is very reasonable. Alex was awesome and made great choices for my wife who is vegetarian. Highly recommend this wonderful little restaurant. Wish they had another location in Redondo! Outstanding!
Hoagies Sandwiches & Grill, Pismo Beach
580 Cypress St N 5, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, United States
Here is my review of Hoagies. Pismo Wrap was alright. Here is the breakdown of what was inside wrap. 65% fries, 15%BBQ Sauce,10%Tri-Tip, 5% Cheese and 5% avocado(this is according to what I saw and tasted). They serve the wrap cut in half but do not be fooled! All the premium ingredients seem to be in the middle.First bite, you get a little of everything, you can taste the Tri-trip, the avocado the pepper jack cheese, that sweet BBQ sauce and of course the fries. Second bite but you get a small ammount of TriTip, some cheese, sweet BBQ sauce, FRIES and no more avocado. By the third bite I no longer tasted the Tri-Tip. Avocado is no longer an ingredient, you can just taste the BBQ sauce and you get overwhelmed with fries, keep in mind that it comes with a side of fries. 4th bite, you just taste fries and BBQ sauce and maybe some juice from the tri tip. 5th and 6th bites are just Fries.... Give this wrap a 7/10.Wife ordered a Cali Cheesestake. She describes it as such. It is dry with a s#!t tone of onions. I just did not care for it. Not something I feel that I need to go back and buy another one. Rating 6/10.My 9 year old ordered a kids meal cheeseburger. She rates it 7/10.

Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant
435 E Cypress Ave, Redding, CA 96002, United States
Authentic Mexican cuisine! We stopped by this restaurant for dinner on our way to Dunsmuir and were totally blown away by the cuisine, vibe of the place, decor and most importantly the kind staff. They have a dedicated vegetarian menu for vegetarians. To start with, the salsa was too good in taste and unique as well. We ordered enchiladas de espinacas and combo vegetariano. First, the portions (per dish) are humongous and more than enough for two people to share. Next, the food quality was beyond delicious, the enchiladas had the stuffing of spinach and other veggies inside, everything served on the plate was unbelievably tasty ?. The staff continued to check on us if we needed something. They close at 8 and we came in around 7:30, they didn’t rush on us at all and greeted us well. I definitely recommend this place who wants to try authentic Mexican food. Last, we were given a small complimentary desert.
Dominics Ristorante Italiano
9921 Walker St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I had heard rave reviews about this place so went a couple of years ago and really wasnt impressed enough to go back. One night my daughter went and brought home her Tri-Color eggplant leftovers. They were DELICIOUS so I decided to give it another try. Its in the same shopping center as our Weight Watchers meeting so we went, after getting weighed in! Ha! We saved points all day for this meal. It was very busy because of a large party but we got seated right away. I ordered the Organic Walnut Salad but I was told that they didnt have the dried cranberries for it, so, I chose to substitute fresh blueberries. Not the same because it was missing the tartness that the cranberries would have added. It was good but not delicious. We were wondering why they hadnt sent someone to the store for them BEFORE they ran out. Its not like theyre hard to find. I should have ordered the Caesar Salad instead. My daughter ordered the Tri-Colored Eggplant and Minestrone soup. OK, so, Im no expert on minestrone soup but anytime that Ive had it, pasta and beans have been two of the ingredients. I just looked up some recipes and they all listed these in the recipes. The soup was basically vegetable soup and it was VERY BORING. We spotted 2 beans in it and NO pasta. Weight Watchers has a recipe for No Points Vegetable Soup and it seemed almost identical to it. I also didnt like the fact that the vegetables were huge! I took a few bites and I had to use a knife to cut up the green beans so they would fit on the giant spoon! It felt like bad prep work! I dont want to have to do the chopping that the kitchen should have done for me. I get the rustic, homemade vibe but soup should NEVER have 4 inch long green beans in it! Wikipedia says that its a THICK, vegetable soup OFTEN with the addition of pasta or rice and that there is no set recipe. So, it certainly CAN be just vegetables but this wasnt even good vegetable soup. If rich, thick, flavorful minestrone soup is what youre craving, this ISNT the place. Wanna stick to your Weight Watchers diet? Theyve got your soup for you but dont forget to count the 2 or 3 beans in there (sarcasm)! We should have gotten the lentil. The bread was DELICIOUS but we finished it all with the soup. We hadnt eaten all day, so that we could splurge, and we were starving. Someone took the basket away and we thought that more was on its way but nothing. Its for the best but, still, we were hoping! Ha! I didnt have any bread to eat with my salad. The poor waiter was so busy that we couldnt get his attention, no one ever offered it and we eventually just gave up. Ill take partial blame for this, for not being more aggressive but it seems like they would have offered when the meals were delivered. The eggplant was, again, DELICIOUS! The side pasta sauce was pretty boring. When I eat out, I like to have items that I dont or cant make myself. Bland tomato sauce is not what Im seeking out. At least the eggplant had other sauces to mix with it. I guess with any restaurant, youre not going to like everything on the menu. We will probably go back just to have the FANTASTIC eggplant and garlic bread and, now, I know NEVER to order that pitiful, giant pieces of vegetables, soup again. The waiter was pleasant and nice but we sat and waited a lot. I dont believe that its because he was a bad waiter. I think that they might have been understaffed, with a large party, so not his fault. He was running and working hard and we still tipped over 20%.
