Caf del Soul

Average plain food that could easily be made at home. expensive for what we got. vegan options but I’ve never heard of a vegetarian restaurant that has chicken.
MIXT
590 E Blithedale Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
Visiting MIXT in Mill Valley for the first time tonight. The style of the place immediately feels relaxing, clean, and a nice place to sit. Its located on an intersection, but theyve done a great job of shielding you from noise and the view of the traffic when you are there.I didnt have to wait long before being served. I ordered a BEETNIK salad, which was made in front of me in really quick time, and every ingredient looked super fresh.I took a seat outside and enjoyed the evening sun, an a cup of water. Despite intending on eating half and taking half home (it was a generous portion), I ate the whole salad as it was so delicious. They are dog friendly, with a cut dog bowl and water outside on the patio.
Vitality Bowls Mill Valley
765 E Blithedale Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
Definitely worth the time and money as the food is fresh and you dont eat a ton of ice or sugar in their smoothies or bowls which means youre eating nothing but real food with no fillers or additives. Definitely love my decision to switch from Jamba Juice to Vitality Bowls! I dont mind paying a bit extra because the service and quality I receive is awesome, and my energy has gone up tremendously and I find myself sleeping and working better.Oh yeah I was so surprised to taste warm chicken in my salad! Completely blew my mind ? never wouldve thought that warm chicken with cool crisp and fresh vegetables would pair so nicely. But yeah other than that the owners of the Mill Valley and San Jose locations are two very kind, honest, and hardworking sisters. They are in need of people at the moment so, if anyone is in need of a job or knows someone in need of one and you love healthy food and people then show your support and love to these locations.
Corvus Bakery
154 Mill St, Grass Valley, CA 95945, United States
Ordered 3 specialty Coffees and pastries. All were good. Nice atmosphere. Our experience would have been nice however, if you order 2 double shots (4 shots) of espresso and ask for a larger cup to allow for some half n half, they wanted to charge me for a Breve with 2 extra shots. I said I didnt want a Breve as it is too weak. I promised I wouldnt use any more than I would use in a regular coffee. I was totally made to feel like a cheapskate in front of all customers and employees present. Literally only used 2 oz of 1/2 n 1/2. Just whom is really being the cheapskate here? This is literally a hypocritical blame shift with the intent to gaslight. Understanding there are some patrons that may take advantage of your establishments condiments does not mean that a paying patron whom orders 4 items has this intent. Not a very good business tactic, let alone way to treat your customers or welcome them to return. Customer Relations 101. Update to Managers reply 11/28/2023:Appreciate the response & concern as my intent was to only to bring this to the business owners attention as a constructive awareness means to improve relations with customers and the community aura of your establishment.

Acqua Hotel Mill Valley
555 Redwood Hwy, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
I am slightly hesitant to leave this review because I do not want others to know just how amazing this hotel is.Rooms:The body wash, soap and other amenities were high caliber. The beds were comfortable. We ended up staying an extra night because of how exhausted we were from travelling and how much their hotel made us feel comfortable and relaxed during this tragic pandemic.Cleanliness:Clean beyond measure. This hotel would make an OCD person feel relaxed. We always bring Clorox wipes, isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle to clean hotels before we stay. (Pre-COVID) and now its is needed more than ever. I wiped and wiped, and nothing. Ive NEVER experienced that before. My wife was impressed and she is NEVER impressed with hotels cleaning skills (or anything for that matter xD).Staff:Zen and Will were the paragon of customer service. Always asking what we need. They provided gift bags with cookies and brownies in them for my kids. We had had a cancellation on a previous hotel and late at night we were accomodated.Lydia was so sweet and hard-working. She and her colleagues worked hard and it showed. I wish I could make up an excuse to visit the area again just so I could stay there again. My family and I have fond memories of because of this hotel.Breakfast was the best out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip. Vanilla Belgian waffles, fresh fruit and oatmeal, among other items. They had delicious alkaline water that all of us loved and were always pre-chilled.During these hard times, their superb customer service, hard work, friendliness, and hospitality made me feel like I knew them and was welcomed. Ive never felt as relaxed and welcomed anywhere else I have stayed in my life.Every hotel should strive to be like this one.
Lams Kitchen
89 E Blithedale Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
Lams kitchen is our absolute favorite restaurant in Mill Valley. Mae is the sweetest person ever and you can taste the love and kindness in the food. Im a vegetarian and she is always so helpful in either altering a dish to fit my needs or recommending a different one that she thinks I will like. Her husband, the chef, never disappoints as Ive never not liked something from his kitchen. Im pretty sure Ive tried just about everything vegetarian on the menu at this point and its all delicious. My boyfriend, Bobby, is not a vegetarian. He always orders the orange chicken or the general Tsos chicken and the chow mein. Mae will also recommend things for him as well if he needs a change. Seriously, best Chinese food in the area. Go here if youd like good food, a friendly atmosphere, and to support a small business as its just Mae and her husband.
Bootjack Wood Fired
17 Madrona St, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
Im going to start writing reviews like this: GO.This is easily in the top 10 of the entire Bay Area IMHO, especially because it isnt a tired approach, nor too edgy. Its a very appropriate and homey spot for Marin & Mill Valley, and firing on 12 cylinders like an under the radar supercar should. =)Ive reviewed enough people trust me, and know I like multi-coursed dinners whether at a pizza joint or in fine dining. I just like gluttony. But this is the perfect marriage of modern fine dining and hip, without the hip feeling like Portlandia. That being said, youd think a vinyl music play list to border along those lines, but its tasteful, and YES... as the night progresses, the busy kitchen and staff abandon worrying about the playlist and just operate the restaurant. As a vinyl DJ with a residency who has also worked in the kitchen and front of house in multiple situations... HOW CAN THEY DO THAT? Well, they dont make it a thing. Thats how. But this place is a thing... and I can tell you I am disappointed I waited this long. Were back this Friday, in fact... so thanks Marjorie!! =)Course 1 -OYSTERS EVERYWHERE, and they were fantastic... no mignonette, but its all prepped just to slide into the mouth, and enjoy with whatever topping they decide. The Pickles are an arrangement of different veggies, and I wouldnt miss this. They are that good. I am not a huge pickled cucumber fan, but the way they pickle is tasty as it gets.Course 2 -Smoked pork ribs with charred broccoli, mae ploy, mortared nuts, and cilantro. They are breezy... if, say, you didnt like cilantro, tell them and its not there. The ribs were phenomenal.Monterey squid cast iron w/ shishito peppers, Carolina gold rice, and carrot escabeche. The latter part being a tasty foam sauce that really compliments the dish. Also fantastic. Actually, that applies to everything.Seared Albacore with broken avocado, lemon cucumber, and preserved lemon with olives. I coveted this dish and shared far less than I should have with my two special lady friends. We paired the front end w/ 2014 Chateau Coussin La Croix du Prieur Grenache Blend from Cotes de Provence... a lovely apricot not too pink Rose. Earthy notes, not too much fruit/floral and very old world, or at least they valiantly lay down to the acidity and minerality.Course 3 -I drink Oregon Pinots to the point it annoys my wife, so I thought something bigger for our main entrees, and it was SUPERB. I picked out a Northwest Syrah that was VERY SURPRISING - 2011 Fausse Piste from Amador Vineyard in Columbia Valley, OR. Most of the up & comers grapes are from Washington, but his various Fausse Pist incarnations are likely to make you happy... adopting the northwests soil into an older world, far more complex wine than a Sonoma counterpart. WATCH JESSE SKILES. WATCH HIM CLOSE.McFarland Springs Trout w/ cauliflower (which they made delicious, BTW, something hard to do for my nemesis cauliflower)Pork Chop with yellow peach, bacon vinaigrette, chopped almonds, and flowering thyme. These two entrees were sublime.Course 4 -Blackberry Cake w/ Creme fraicheStone Fruit Crumble w/ whipped goat cheeseSuperb desserts... not over-sweet, skillfully made.and of course.... 2013 Chateau Roumieu-Lacoste Semillon Sauternes and possibly partying with the staff, a bit. I think we are meant to come in and stamp with them.
Kitchen Sunnyside
31 Sunnyside Ave #1, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WORTH THE PRICE!I recently dined at Kitchen Sunnyside and wanted to share my experience. To be honest, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of my visit.First and foremost, the pricing was a major concern. The pancakes alone were priced at a staggering $18, which, in my opinion, seemed exorbitant, especially considering they appeared to be more decorative than substantial. Additionally, paying $9 for eggs, $4 for hash browns, $7 for sausage, and $7 for a glass of orange juice felt excessive. What further added to my disappointment was the quality and hygiene of the meal. I found a gnat in the fruit served with my meal and discovered a hair on my plate. This lack of attention to cleanliness was not only off-putting but also unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. In conclusion, I regret to say that this dining experience did not justify the total cost. It appears that a significant portion of the expense goes toward food presentation rather than taste and quality. For those seeking a better value for their money and a more hygienic dining environment, I would recommend exploring other dining options in the area.
Samurai
425 Miller Ave, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
I went on a first date at this establishment last week. I drove about an hour to get to the restaurant, and IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH the drive! Parking was ample, right outside the restaurant. We didnt realize they accepted reservations, so we were walk-ins. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated on what was obviously a very busy Friday, and we were pleased at the short wait time. Staff is super friendly and engaging. Very knowledgeable about the menu. We sat at the sushi bar and had a few enjoyable and informative conversations with one of the sushi masters who had been making sushi for over 20 years. Our food was simply divine! I had the salmon mustard salad.....which was TO DIE FOR! We also had the Lion King roll.....PHENOMENAL! We ordered more, and everything that we shoved into our hungry mugs was DELECTABLE! You will be truly thrilled after a visit to this restaurant. You will leave wanting to come back for more!
Good Earth Natural Foods
201 Flamingo Rd, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
This place is ridiculous. Ive never been so offended. I was sent by my girlfriend to pick up some important supplements for her as shes pregnant, which in and of itself is a daunting task for someone that doesnt know his way around those types of things. I finally hunted down what she was looking for (I think!), and this lady swoops in and grabs my basket off the ground and tells me its in the way, and that she could keep it up front for me. Well, Besides the fact that I was lugging my skateboard around as well, which is why I set the basket down, keeping my basket up front basically defeats the purpose of having a basket. She was super aggressive about it as she thrust it at me as I fumbled with my phone, my skateboard, and the basket. I let it go. No big deal. Then I decided I should get something to eat as we had a long drive ahead of us. As a side note, my girlfriend is extremely picky as far as what she can and will eat. So I took my time looking around and making sure to read the ingredients of everything, for one, because there was so many good looking options, and second, because I was in no hurry. I kid you not, this lady proceeds to follow me around the entire store, peeking around corners and pretending to converse with her coworkers just to keep an eye on me. It got to the point where Id mess with them and go a certain direction to see if I was just imagining it, and sure enough, there were literally 4 or 5 employees literally ON me as if Im trying to steal something. The final straw was when one of them walked by me and literally pointed at me and said him?. I asked why they felt the need to follow me and the stupid lady tried tried play it off like she wasnt profiling me. I immediately dropped everything and walked out. I refuse to spend my money at a business that treats people this way. I felt extremely profiled and disrespected. They lost out on a couple hundred dollar purchase and a return customer. It was unbelievable. I went to safeway and was in and out without a problem. This place is a joke. I wish I could give negative stars. Especially to the husky lady that seemed to be in charge. She should be reprimanded, big time. If you shop here, better make it quick! Or youll be followed around the entire store while youre trying to figure out what tf to have for lunch. Jesus Christ!
