Native Foods

I spent time in Palm Springs and found the most wonderful Vegan restaurant I have ever dined at. I love the staff that work there, and they are personable, kind, and gracious. While traveling, I always seem to have a difficult time finding an eating establishment that offers vegetarian/vegan cuisine. And, when I have found one, as I have traveled all over the USA and abroad, many times the items are limited to a simple tofu dish or two. I hate hotel food, and it goes without saying that I try to do my research before traveling. Many restaurants advertise that they have a side menu for those who are vegan. I used dine-and-dash, and I ordered from one restaurant in Minneapolis, and all I got was a. bowl full of noodles, some broccoli, and indigestion.I think that I tried everything on the menu during my week in Palm Springs (from the spicy Nashville, the Orange Cauliflower, the AMAZING vegan macaroni-and-cheese, to the delicious vegan chocolate chip cookies. All I can say is DELICIOUS! If I had to be in town any longer, I would definitely needed cool sculpting and/or another gym membership (I am saying that tongue-in-cheek). I tried other dishes, and each one blew my pallet away. Now that I am back in North Carolina, I am actually going through separation anxiety, not from the wonderful people of Palm Springs, but my FAVORITE vegan eatery.I really want to thank Shawn and the young lady who was working the cash register (I am blocking on her name) for making me feel like a welcome guest in their home. Shawn took the time to explain various facets of the vegan lifestyle, while the cashiers was again patient, kind, and worked with me in narrowing down my item selections---Holy Pete, it was hard. I actually ordered two or three entrees just to try a little of this, and a little of that. My only regret? Well, its simple! Not being able to sneak it through TSA. When I return to PS, I am going to be hitting the establishment regularly. Such WONDERFUL food and staff. Check it out, you will LOVE it!

Peppers Thai Palm Springs

So good! Many vegetarian options including tofu and soy meat substitutions. I haven’t yet tried the soy meat, but the red curry with tofu was very good. My family judged moved here and we are so happy we have found a good Thai food restaurant. Will be coming here often.

The Restaurant Two Bunch Palms
67425 Two Bunch Palms Trail, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240, United States
Essence Restaurant is located at Two Bunch Palms (a natural mineral spa & silent yoga/ therapy retreat.) The property offers natural hot springs; a place to unwind & heal ...away from the grind of the city. I am quite snobbish about where I dine; I really love Essence. I love the decor, the menu, the simplicity, the service, and the entertainment. The menu & dishes are highly suitable for vegans & vegetarians, and yet will not disappoint carnivores. One of the best restaurants Ive been to in & around Palm Desert.

Very delicious vietnamese fusion restaurant. They have a generous vegetarian/vegan menu. The crispy spring rolls are amazing. The vegetarian pho was filled the fresh vegetables and the broth was so good! The curry was very good with just the right amount of spice. Everything was fresh and the cocktails are excellent. Love this place and will definitely be back next time Im in Palm Springs.

Wrap Houz
555 S Palm Canyon Dr Ste A109, Palm Springs, CA 92264, United States
My husband and I enjoy Mediterranean food and Wrap house is now on our top 5 list. We loved the chicken Shawarma Wrap, and green lentil soup the most. We love how Hass and Karla are friendly, accommodating, and their willingness to make custom orders if given advance notice. The atmosphere is only 4 stars as this is take out only and there is NO space to dine in or bathrooms available. However, if you purchase a drink at the hair of the dog bar next door you can eat and relieve yourself there if you dont mind the bar atmosphere and are over 21. Not the best for kids or families but they do have delivery options available which I recommend if thats you because the food is worth it! Also side note the pita bread is more akin to lavash if that matters to you and although we preferred the chicken more this was the best beef shawarma we have had ever and that says alot because I typically dont even like beef shawarma. Happy eating!

Hoja Blanca
800 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262, United States
Best food in Palm Springs. PS is full of so many restaurants catering to tourists and even the good restaurants have gone downhill over the years. Hoja Blanca is in the business of serving inventive, beautiful, modern Mexican food. Every dish had a flavor profile that was new to us (despite growing up in SoCal and eating Mexican food my whole life). So so good. We had the Bread, Guac and Tostaditas, Tetela (our fave), Quesabirria tacos, and the seasonal Pan de Muerto for dessert. Please dont miss this place or Bar Chingona (in the airstream). The ambience is also adorable. We will be back every time we are in PS.

PS Drag Brunch
The Saguaro Hotel, 1800 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264, United States
This show is outstanding, the hostess is Rosemary Galore, she is beautiful in her custom Hollywood Glam along with her colorful wigs. She really holds her audience with her quick wit and gives every guest her attention making them feel special. Having been to a few shows, this one is exciting, fast moving, and Rosemary has several costume changes during her show, she along with her girls, have well put together outfits, wigs and music that makes for a great show. Rolys China Fusion offers all you can eat Dim Sum along with about 10 main dishes, what Brunch does that! Quality is what I want for my money and she definitely delivers, this is not your average corner bar drag show. I have seen her at a few different venues and the show always delivers the same level of entertainment. Rosemary is a “must see “ when in Palm Springs.

Crudo Cervicheria Palm Springs
515 N Palm Canyon Dr #9, Palm Springs, CA 92262, United States
Ate here for an early dinner ~6pm on a Monday night and got an outdoor patio seat with a heated lamp. Food was excellent, my partner had the steak and fries and he said the cut of steak was one of the best he's ever had, no grisly bits at all and they cooked it medium rare without asking because of course it should always be cooked that way (haha his words). I ordered the special of the day which was grilled sea bass with a lemon caper sauce over pilaf and asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly and the balance of the dish for flavors was excellent: salty, sweet, creamy. Daniel was our server and he was perfect, checking in on us without bothering us. The host that we were greeted at the door with was also very warm and welcoming. Overall a great experience during our road trip! We were originally going to go to chicken ranch next door, but were enticed by their menu and changed our mind, glad we did!

Play Lounge & Cafe
2825 E Tahquitz Canyon Way BLDG C, Palm Springs, CA 92262, United States
We went as a group of 4 for breakfast mid week @ 9:15 am which was a good time since it wasn't busy. From the street it's not apparent when not using GPS since it sits back from Tahquitz Canyon Road at the entrance of 2 condo complexes on Louella Rd. Very limited menu choices overall, but we all found at least 1 breakfast item including beverages like coffee, special nitro brew mix (a blend of Dr. Pepper, vanilla and nitro brew which was unique), etc. Coffee cups were smaller than Starbucks. Importantly, their breakfast sandwiches were not very good ( bland and mostly tasteless) and used frozen eggs/ bagels like Starbucks but we all agreed Starbucks and even Jack in the Box have better tasting (and less expensive) sandwiches despite those being mostly refrigerated/ frozen. Now, with that being said, they heavily advertise their daily happy hours which are probably the way to go to enjoy drinks, friends, games since their food is not the way to go: you don't go there to eat as food seems to be an afterthought. But, great patio space and of course, games to play! It's worth a visit but beyond that … ?

Minervas at Life House Palm Springs
1700 S Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264, United States
Pedestrian at best.Service was decent, as expected when you dine at a restaurant. So let's get into it.1. We asked for sparkling water but when we got it, it was so flat—kinda like when you open a can of soda and let it sit over night then take another sip and it's flat as can be. There was very little carbonation.2. Our server took our drink order right away—1 beer, 1 mixed cocktail, which took unusually long. Our server recognized this and to make up for this, comped up as an appetizer, which is very much appreciated.3. The appetizers. We ordered the carrot crudo, which is less crudo and more tartare. Our server gave us the heads up, again appreciated, but super underwhelmed once we started digging in. It was supposed to have sriracha in it, and I don't think there was any whatsoever, nor any salt or any other kind of seasoning. It was bland, boring, and something I would never I order again. The comp'd appetizer was the eggplant bruschetta—not usually a fan of eggplant, but figured it had to be better than the carrot crudo. Hmmmmm, still bland and flavorless.4. The mains. My partner ordered the chicken and I had the smash burger. Chicken was tender and lacked seasoning. The only redeeming quality to my smash burger was the tomato jam. Without the tomato jam, it would have been just like the rest of the meal-basic.I'm not saying NOT go here, but maybe just not for dinner. Maybe the brunch menu is better and has more flavor?By the way, I'm NOT a foodie nor do I have a “sophisticated palette” - I've had better fast food.
