Big Mouth Burgers
851 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
I really enjoyed my meal here. The restaurant is small but clean, well lit and unsurprisingly empty at 4:30.Their vegetarian menu has a good amount of variety. Another reviewer complained about a dry vegan patty last year. Im glad to say that it no longer the case. They now serve the Beyond Burger, which is delicious. It is gluten free and so is the vegan bun! (Remember that buckwheat is gluten free.) They often arent, so its best to err on the side of caution! If you arent into artificial meat, they also have a falafel Burger although I recommend asking to double check that its vegan.Although you order at the counter, they bring out the food and bus the tables, so be sure to tip!

And the good thing it was made fresh in front of me and came out in about 10-15 minutes. I met the owner and his brother. They had a great attitude and were very pleasant to speak to. Out The Road
2636 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I love this place!! I was there on a busy Sunday during the Warriors game, and the place was hopping, with a festive and fun vibe. I immediately loved the laid back yet classy decor, and sat in a booth with friends. We ordered a bunch of stuff to try and every thing was so delicious! We started with the “Not the Wedge” Wedge Salad and the crispy cauliflower. Both were so great—the salad was refreshing and a perfect starter, and the cauliflower was cooked to perfection with the most delicious romesco sauce. Next we had the Falafel Burger served with a side of the fries. Now, as a longtime vegetarian, I have had MANY falafels in my life, but I have never had a falafel like this! It was so light and crispy and it was such a fun take to have it burger-style with a super tasty bun. I loved it and can't wait to have it again. The fries were also awesome—incredibly thin and crispy and the perfect thing to have with the burger. And finally, my friends and I split the mushroom pizza. I loved everything about this pizza—crispy mushrooms, and a perfect combo of flavors and the crust was perfect. We ate everything on our plates! Great service too with friendly servers, and we loved the vibe. This was a fabulous experience, and I can't wait to go again. So happy that the Portola has a fun place like this!

Taquera Las Katrinas
2426 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I recently visited Las Katrinas and I must say I was impressed with the dining experience I had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home.Las Katrinas specialty is burritos, quesabirrias and molcajetes, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint me at all. The burritos were simply delicious. They were generously filled with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the flavor was authentic and satisfying. Each bite was an explosion of flavors that transported me directly to Mexico. However, what really captivated me was the quesabirria. This dish is a perfect combination of a burrito and a quesadilla filled with juicy meat and melted cheese. The outside was perfectly browned and crispy, while the inside was tender and full of flavor. I cant express how delicious it was. It is definitely a must-try in Las Katrinas. Also, I cant fail to mention the molcajetes. These traditional Mexican dishes presented in an authentic stone molcajete were impressive. They were filled with tender meat, spicy sauce, beans, guacamole and melted cheese. Each spoonful was a perfect combination of textures and flavors, and the molcajete added a special touch to the presentation. The service at Las Katrinas was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes they offered. They helped me choose the dishes that best suited my preferences and were willing to answer all my questions. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant has charming decor that reflects Mexican culture. Soft background music and dim lighting create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet meal or a gathering with friends and family. In short, if you are looking for an authentic and tasty culinary experience, I highly recommend you visit Las Katrinas. The burritos, quesabirrias and molcajetes are simply delicious and the atmosphere will make you feel like you are in Mexico. You wont regret trying their exquisite dishes!

Mazra
504 San Bruno Ave W, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
Mazra reviewI just ate here today, and had such a bad experience that I felt the need to immediately write a review.First of all, I wouldn't say the food was bad, but it wasn't amazing either. On the other hand, they have the audacity to ask for tips at check out, yet there is no customer service at all. In fact, there is NEGATIVE customer service, more like customer affliction. They literally said we can't sit down at one of the 4 person tables, even though the place was only about 30% full. When we said that we got a lot of food and we normally have issues with small tables and if we can sit at another one, the female worker shook her head as in to say “No”, but didn't even make an effort to talk. Is this kindergarten where we get assigned seating but there is actually zero service? You don't bother to offer anything and we even need to get our own utensils and water, why are you harassing people where to sit? I understand if they were busy and asked us nicely to get a 2 person table, but they literally REFUSED our request. I have never heard a No from a restaurant before, the most un-accommodating dining experience I ever had, and that includes everywhere in the world, not just the US.To take it even further, there were 2 sets of couples who came in after us and sat at 4 person tables and nobody asked them to move. We even seen 2 police officers come in and also had no issue sitting at the 4 person table; all that time it was already getting busier. So what is the logic to REFUSE our request and say NO when it was only 30% seats taken and then when it got busier they had no issue where people satSo in summary, I'm amazed this place had so many good reviews when the food is sub par and the service is non-existent, actually even negative. So the only way that these people get a hint is to write a real review, maybe figure out the seating situation so customers don't feel harassed.

Lotus Falafel and Shawerma-SAN BRUNO
629 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
I got the chicken Shawarma over rice and a soda for around $20. I stopped by to have lunch as my car was getting serviced down the street. I told the cashier it was my first time. He tried to up sellme and suggested the shawarma with rice and salad for $5 more but I wasn't that hungry. For the record this was not my first Middle Eastern shawarma, I have eaten this dish thousands of time and choose this because it's simple and thought they can't mess it up. I was completely wrong, the chicken was disgusting leftovers that was crispy and burnt. I didn't finish the food and left to get my car. The food made me sick a few minutes later. This will be my first and last time coming here. Bad experience for me and I was so excited to try the food here. ?

Banh Mi House
2701 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I was craving a banh mi and saw how cheap this place was and decided to give it a try. They had high reviews and looked very clean. I called in three combination pork sandwiches. The sandwiches were ready when I got there and was excited to bring them home to eat. There is little parking and it is a bit difficult to drive here, so be wary of that when coming. Inside, they also sold some drinks on the side. I thought the bread was toasted perfectly. I kinda wish the sandwich was bigger since they did up the prices quite a bit from the images posted. However, I would definitely come back again as the sandwiches tasted great and had fresh ingredients.

Naan Point
851 Cherry Ave #6, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
When Naan Point first opened up, I opened my arms to the heavens and thanked the almighty. Having tried most of the Indian food in the city, I had been left sorely disappointed by the lack of quality and care. Sometimes it felt like the food wasnt even meant for me at all, and I felt a lot of these places get away with being kind of nice and serving some wine to the general populace, but the raw quality of the food was just atrocious, unthinkable to serve as Indian food anywhere in the world.Naan Point, so far, is different, and I can admit Ive eaten there probably 20 times so far, tried various items. (Im vegetarian.)1. There is genuine care and quality to their dishes.2. They dont nickel and dime you.3. They actually serve a Thali plate, and it is affordable - it might even be a loss leader, but all their Thali dishes are served fresh and made to order. (If youre the owner and youre reading this - please dont ever remove that option, you can charge me more for it, but I would be gutted if we dont have Thalis anymore.)Only time will tell if they can sustain this - but as it stands today, it might actually be the best Indian restaurant in a 15 mile radius, its actually that good. And thank heavens it serves us folk in the San Bruno area. You might think it unassuming but the majority of the clientele in there are not Indian at all. Who would have imagined most other people dont want to be ripped off and just want a nice authentic meal as well? Other businesses could take note. Seriously. Thanks for saving the day. I really appreciate your business and youll have my support.

Roma Deli
424 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
One of my favorite sandwich shops in the country(well, in the world). I have moved to Austin several years ago, but I stop here every time I visit the Bay Area(~once a month). This is an old Italian no-frills deli owned by a Korean family which serves quality sandwiches for reasonable prices. The decor is old and they havent updated it since the 50s or 60s, but no one goes there for the decor.I have never seen them completely empty. I have gone there at all sorts of odd hours and I always find people getting multiple sandwiches and the owners always working. They have Boarshead brand deli meat which is high quality to begin with. On top of that they make their own chicken and egg salads which are tasty. And they dont skimp on the meat. They hollow-out the bread to make sure the meat sits properly.Their Dutch crunch bread is to die for. I haven't found the Dutch crunch like theirs anywhere else, not even in NYC. I love the homemade chicken salad and the spicy sauces. The owner Sun is so sweet and awesome; I love her smile when she serves sandwiches. I have been coming here since 2007 and she remembered me and my order even after I didnt visit them for over 2 years. Her husband is also very friendly.I will be visiting for another 20 years.Update(2019/2020): Sun and her husband sold this shop and went traveling in Korea. I very much miss her warm smile. Luckily the new owners are their family friends and so they are keeping up with the tradition and still serve excellent sandwiches.

Taqueria Mi Durango
287 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
I was in the area on Thursday dropping off two pairs of jeans for alteration at Brigette Cleaners at 241 El Camino Real. It was raining lightly and not busy. There were two young met seated in a booth as I walked in - my first time ordering from this establishment. Since I dont eat a lot of meat I decided to go with the Mushroom Quesadilla. I had worked all day in San Francisco, commuted via BART & wanted to get home. I opted to get this only, no drink. Cost with tax was over $14. I was surprised not to receive any chips with my order. As I was waited for my order a couple came in. The two young men in the booth who I thought were eating in were actually waiting for an order. The man behind the counter took their order to them. As I sat waiting in a booth, I saw the man behind the counter place another order on top of a barrel located outside behind the counter, obviously a to go order. Then my order was ready. He called out Mushroom Quesadilla but did not take my order out to me. Was it because I was the only woman. Yes, I think so. From the get go I found the man to have a condescending attitude toward me and quite rude. Of note is that I am 64. I have also had Mushroom Quesadillas before. This one was sauteed and placed on a thin paper plate covered in tin foil. Had they not placed my order in a plastic bag it would have leaked all over my car. Upon my arrival home when I removed it from the bag it had completely leaked through the paper plate onto my counter. I immediately though of the Dixie Plate commercial. No, I will not be ordering from Taqueria Mi Durango again.
