Taco Bell
705 W Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
Here is my experience from a few days ago. I went to the drive through and placed my order. I intended to order a Baja Bast Zero for my drink but before I could even finish saying Baja the person taking orders interrupted me to say that they were out of Baja Blast. I asked if they had any sugar free Baja Blast and they said that they didnt have that. They then asked if I would like a Baja Blast Zero. I felt like this was a very rude question to follow-up with after saying there was no sugar free Baja Blast. Im sorry I didnt use the correct brand name for the product but clearly they understood what I was looking for by offering exactly that but in a rude and condescending manner. At this point I considered canceling my order but they line was long and I was hungry. But wait.........theres a lot more. At the window the person asked if I would like a receipt and I said yes. My boss pays for my lunch up to 10 dollars if I provide a receipt. I payed recieved a Sealed bag of food and was told that the receipt was in the bag. I pulled out parked and checked the bag. No receipt. I walked inside and requested a receipt and was denied. They claimed that once I left the drive through area, I couldnt get a receipt or record of my transaction. I requested to speak to a manager. A person approached and confirmed what the previous employee had been saying. I asked for any kind of confirmation number or identifying information for the transaction and was told it was not available. I left the store feeling extremely frustrated. I called the corporate phone number and spoke with a very nice person who assured me that I would get my receipt and began to take my information. Thank goodness for corporate appreciating their customers. I was told that I would receive a phone call no more than 24 hours later and indeed I received a call that evening from the GM of the location that I got my food from. That person apologized and said that they had located my receipt and that I could come pick it up whenever I wanted and that I could have a free combo meal when I returned. I thanked them and was satisfied. But wait..........theres more. I returned in two days to get my receipt and it took three people to find it. Upon receiving the receipt the person made no effort to inform me that I would receive a free item and promptly turned and tried to flee as soon as I was handed the receipt. I had to audibly grab their attention and ask if the free item was still available. They scoffed a little and informed the register employee that I could receive a free combo meal. I asked for a freeze and got it. I dont know who the manager was on the phone but I wish all the employees had that level of professionalism. I hope things improve here because I love tacobell but for now Ill just go to a different location.
Nekter Juice Bar
1034 W Gladstone St, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
Friday November 26th, 2021. I had been suffering from a massive grand mal migraine for the past 3 days. I decided to treat it naturally and drive to this Nekter for my usual migraine healing treatment. A 32 oz. Glass of fresh beets with one orange added for taste and benefit. When I arrived I placed my usual order with the blonde girl whom I believe is a new manager-in-training and she flat out refused to make my custom drink since she said she didnt want to make it with only beets. As she railed at me the blood vessels in my skull began pounding and my vision became blurry I chunked up the peace sign wheeled around in silence and left. I drove to the nearest Nekter where they made my drink just as I needed it. I am drinking it and making this review after which I will give THAT OTHER Nekter 5 stars, there. Thanks for giving me the strength to carry on other Nekter. Glendora Nekter; shame shame shame at your upset over special orders. #BuyerBewareThe beet juice with a shot of elderberry (and nothing else) was lovingly prepared without incident or ATTITUDE or even passive aggression at the nearest other Nekter down the road. Buy there Google reviews faithful. Just, #BuyELSEWHERE.

Papas Best Sandwiches and More
1034 Arrow Hwy unit b, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
When growing up, most of us had that one neighbor whose kitchen had the most hypnotic scents wafting from the windows. This describes my experience each time I open the door at Papas Best Sandwiches and More.My very first visit, I naturally ordered a sandwich, Hot Capicola Pastrami with house spread, and added a cup of soup to go with it. High quality ingredients went into that sandwich and I knew that I would have to come back again and again to try the other options. Then I tasted the soup and it has become an obsession! There are usually a couple of different selections of soup each day but heres a valuable tip: dont wait until after lunch to stroll in for soup because you will likely leave empty handed. This is especially the rule for Friday when all of the regulars know that it is Tomato Soup day. I never in my life thought that I would be raving about, of all things - tomato soup. It really is that good. It is broth-based, as are all of their soups, but is unlike any tomato soup. This is a spicy and extremely flavorful soup; whenever possible, I try to bring home several large cups of it to have in my fridge at my behest.Another favorite is their spicy chorizo and potato soup. A very multi-layered flavor profile and also worthy of having several in the fridge for a soup fix. One really wont be disappointed by any of their soups but the tomato and the spicy chorizo are absolutely top notch. My personal favorite sandwich is still the first sandwich, the Hot Capicola, but highly recommend their signature pulled pork sandwich. This is the home cooking everyone yearns for because this is a small family business built on Papas passion and that is evident in all of the items he prepares.
Lucabella at the Walker House
121 N San Dimas Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
I was there for Valentines day dinner. The food taste and visual experience were excellent. The Walker house itself is a visual experience with a lot of history if you like that sort of thing. Its a museum as well as a restaurant with placards, photos and paintings even in the restaurant areas. They had a special menu for the day with a few selections to make up a three course meal. I had a type of sea bass with asparagus, my date had the duck. We both started with the butternut squash soup and finished with the flourless chocolate cake. The only downside was the portion size. It was likely perfect for most people but Im a somewhat muscular 62 and normally eat more. It was also pricey for the special outing at $65 per person plus drinks and 20% gratuity. It came to about $200 for our evening. You do expect a lot for that but it was never disappointing. At a lower price point or more food quantity it would be 5 stars across the board. I rarely give anything 5. Ill need to try them on a regular day.
Palermo Cafe and Bakery
1124 Via Verde Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
This place is the greatest bakery Ive ever been to! Their paninis are GOD tier (I recommend dipping it in a side of soup, trust me on this.) Youd think theyd only excel in the pastries but literally *everything* they have on their menu is delicious! I was originally introduced to this place by a friend because they got me their lil chocolate bundt cake, and to go in myself and see that it was vegan was SHOCKING. It was the best chocolate cake, vegan or not, Id ever had. Plus, its awesome they offer an inclusive variety of sweets. But what makes a place great isnt JUST the food. Their service is so kind, it felt like I was talking to old friends upon my first time in. Not to mention, the interior is so clean and minimalistic. I cannot recommend this place enough. Plus! Theyre near a small park so you can eat with a view!A million/10, please go!
Twisted Sage Cafe & Catering
433 E Foothill Blvd, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
On any other day…TSC might be good for others with a predilection for this style of cooking, but today, was not a good experience, and solidified for my family at least that this is not worth the money or time waiting.Wait was about 40 minutes, above the inferred 20-30, which is not being factored in to this review.”, although expediency of cleaning outgoing customer tables could be. There did not appear to be much staff on.First order of business, kids juice. Ordered an apple juice for my daughter. $4 for 6 oz. Refill…another $4 for 6 oz. Other facilities would just refill it, not here. Might suggest refills be a reduced right for kids, maybe $2. It's not breaking the bank and $2 more from recharging is not saving your rent. So water it was…Second, the food. Ordering the pulled pork Benedict. Comes out colorful, near neon orange sauce on two eggs, and a hearty servings of pulled pork. But that's it. No sides, no herbs, no garnish. Just Benedict's.These congealed heaps of food are soggy and bland. The cholula hollaindaise is bland, and the vinegar from the cholula cuts through unpleasantly. Take the best parts of cholula and toss them out, and you're left with vinegar, that's what stands out. The eggs are well cooked, and the pulled pork by itself is great, but soaking through the English muffin left a soggy mess. The flavors don't mesh well. The sauces under seasoned. And it would not hurt to top with chive, or cilantro, or some accompanying herb. The margins to keep an herb on deck is minimal since you would use a splash per dish. This dish really needs some insight. The chicken fried steak. Served with one side of potatos. Now, a smidge of sea salt graces an edge of a couple potato's, but the upcharge for their signature twisted potatoes is a nice touch. Providing your signature potatoes might actually draw other customers in outside an average potato, but make your money how you want to. Other people might buy-in to it…but others who worked the industry know the deal.Potatoes aside, the chicken fried steak is cooked through, but the fry is very weak. The breading has no chew or flake, it's pale and guess what…under-seasoned. Yes, I see a pattern here. The gravy is ok, and can see and taste the beef bits that help offset the…if you have not guessed now…under-seasoned gravy. There is no garnish, no frills. The dish is varying shades of yellow, gray and white. Just visually boring. The aromas were also lacking…on both dishes. The nose knows good food…and this did not uplift the senses to heighten the palates experience. Now, the power went out during our service. This is no one's fault. However, there were zero contingencies to pay the bill outside of cash, which few people carry these days thanks to things like Apple Pay, square, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, etc. however, there were no credit slips to process billing during power outages. This is standard operating procedures at restaurants. You have to plan for these.Behind us was a couple of women, who sat down behind us. They just put there order in right as the power went down. They ordered bloody Mary's. The server said we can't serve you food because the check writer in the kitchen did not get there order in time and since it did not print, they won't be cooking anything. Then presented the bill for the Bloody Mary's. The people at least spoke up and said because they are inconvenienced, the drinks should be comped. The server checked with their manager. This is poor service. The drinks should have been comped immediately for service recovery. You want better reviews and for customers to maybe come back…comp the drinks. It's a tax write off for the business and is good customer appreciation in these events. Hospitality 101.Honestly this cuisine appears to be some contemporary southwest/Tex mex missing core Latin influences from the region that could be spared in to their modern approach. It feels like plenty of recipes over cater to white palates that dumb down the flavors upcharge because they can afford it, but lacks character and authenticity.
Shamieh Bakery & Deli
1451 W Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
I have been devolving a real taste for Middle Eastern food and decided to check this place out seeing as I was nearby.Inside its a little run down shop. But I saw they had pastries and decided to ask a few questions and maybe get a few.At least that was the plan.I stood in front of the deli counter and had employees including the owner come by stare at me and then walk away. When I was there I read the menu and I noticed that they had their meatball on the vegetarian menu....some real Einsteins. At the front counter I got ignored again...and noticed they had some pastries out. After looking at them I noticed most were the same type as Bakery King down the street which makes theirs to order. So to conclude Mediterranean Bakery you suck.
Vincenzos Terrazza
121 N San Dimas Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773, United States
This is one I wish I could give 5☆s...but I cant in all honesty!I so clearly (placed the order and the waiter read it back) said what I wanted, not to have it come to the table was a bit shocking. Exactly what I said I didnt want was there and NONE of the things I asked for were.It came to the table after my company had already finished half their meal so I didnt re-order. Nor (after trying to choke down two bites) did I eat the dish. The waiter caught the mistake but did nothing to correct it. His excuse...someone last week ordered this dish and the cook got mixed-up... Really? All I ordered was pasta, fresh chopped tomato, fresh basil and toasted pine nuts. Thats all! And you confirmed NO PROBLEM...THATS EASY!Not this mish-mash of mixed vegetables (not prepared by an Italian cook Id be thinking...more Mexican style) with a heavy white sauce (I was explicitly trying to avoid) over too aldante pasta. So while it sat and the other plates were finished, the Owner walked bye and did her charm...then asked if I were full...(seeing my full plate?) I said No, this isnt what I ordered and I dont care for it.To which she replied Oh, didnt you get your pine nuts? So I guess she know there was a problem with the order. Anyway, she disappeared into the kitchen, we ordered and ate desert never to see hide nor tail of her again. The waiter came with the to go packings...packed it up and presented it on the bill.Kiss of death for me is a restaurant that wont back up its product. If the waiter knew it was wrong (as in not what I ordered) and brought it to the table anyway...(and late)... the others got finished first...thats huge! Pass it off...hoping what? Ill like it anyway? I didnt! Then the Owner...Wow!Not to take it off the bill, offering when were walking out the door to make a new order? Really???Kiss of death for me, earning you a 1☆ rating...I didnt get what was paid for (and the bill of $150+ on a Tues. night) PLUS A FULL TIP still wasnt enough for you???Now...to why I wish I could give a 5☆ rating. I could just dive into the appetizer...fresh scallops...and I did! Devine over the top perfection...so much so we doubled the order. The bread was done well. The wine superb. The waiters maners were polished professional (except what Ive stated). The ambience very pleasant. The other dishes well prepared.Too bad...kiss of deathgot you!
