The yacht club is really an excellent restaurant. We had gone as a family group with a varying food requirements including vegetarians. The chef was very accessible, accomodating and dished out fantastic vegetarian food as well!! Very courteous, and quick service. Food quality and taste was superb. A definite 5star rating.
The Curry Pizza Company 6
376 S Lemon Ave, Walnut, CA 91789, United States
First off, the pizza was delicious. I called in an order and an answer service recommended ordering online or stay on the line for placing order over the phone. So I tried going online to order but there was too many options of add this or delete that I was confused and not willing to mess up the intended taste of the pizza. I Decided to call back and just order the Butter Chicken pizza how they designed it. Im familiar with eating butter chicken at Indian cuisine restaurants and though there are different styles, my pizza didnt have the flavor I expected(chicken sauced up with Indian butter sauce). There was plain chicken and like a real(stick) butter flavor type of sauce in place of a traditional Italian marinara on the dough. Not the type of orange, sweet curry type of sauce at Indian cuisine restaurants.Other than that, I really enjoyed the unique flavors/spices and topping combinations they chose for the chicken curry pizza. Price was fair, but I was disappointed seeing all the extra meat that use to come on the pizza 8 months ago in the reviews. If Im ever in the area again with people who never tried this place, I will surely treat them to a uniquely different experience and visit again.
True Food Kitchen
120 Broadway Ln Bld #4 Space #1044, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with True Food Kitchen that I feel compelled to share. I had placed a substantial order for my event, totaling nearly $600, and I took all necessary steps to ensure everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete disaster. To begin with, I called the restaurant a day before my event to confirm my order and was told that everything was good to go. This gave me a sense of assurance that my carefully planned event would have the food it needed on time. However, on the day of our meeting, when we were eagerly awaiting the delivery of our food, I received a text from the restaurant, and to my utter shock, my food order was canceled. Yes, you read that right--on the very day of my event!I was flabbergasted by this unprofessional behavior. The whole point of placing my order weeks in advance and confirming it the day before was to ensure that everything would be ready and delivered as scheduled. This was not a last-minute order; it was planned meticulously, and I relied on True Food to fulfill their part of the agreement. To make matters worse, when I called to inquire about this abrupt cancellation, I was met with a callous response from the general manager, Chris. Instead of offering to attempt to rectify the situation, all I got was a Sorry, can you re-order again? This was a shocking display of indifference towards a customer who had spent a significant amount of money and trusted their service. As someone who values professionalism and reliability when dealing with restaurants, I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am in the way True Food Kitchen handled this situation. Canceling a large order on the very day it was supposed to be delivered is inexcusable, and the lack of accountability from the general manager only adds insult to injury.Needless to say, my event was marred by this experience, and I would strongly caution anyone considering placing a large order with them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, as they have demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism, customer care, and reliability when it matters most.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
1159 Locust St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
Worst food service experience I have EVER had. My girlfriend and I walk in. The first thing the cashier says Why are both of your faces red We are like umm because its hot? All while he is slouching over the counter. We get our food ordered and sit down. 5 mins later a mother and her disabled child walk in to order. I hear the cashier being rude to them but I just stay out of it. Until I heard him shouting at her across the store trying to embarrass her saying DONT STEAL I WILL CALL THE COPS ON YOU HAAHAHAH Meantime the customer was just standing there.... she wasnt even doing anything. I found this behavior completely unacceptable. As a manager myself, I would never speak to customers like that. He only spoke to them like that because they were vulnerable. I stood up and confronted him for his unprofessionalism and then he started commenting on my clothes, my weight. Everything. This guy not only discriminated against a mother and her daughter. He discriminated against me when I was only trying to do the right thing. I included a picture of him. My sandwich was good, the one my gf got tasted like freezer burnt bread. 0/10 experience.
panCoast Pizza
1516 S Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
Walnut Creek has its fair share of delicious restaurants as well as fast casual spots to choose from. But it doesnt have a whole lot of pizza places, especially when youre in the mood for just a single slice of pizza. With that said and done, this takes me to panCoast pizza which focuses on their New York-styled pizzas. Located directly on S. Main St. and parallel to Highway 680 on the south part of Walnut Creek, this place has been serving their piping hot east coast pizzas dating back to 2012.What makes this place great is that the owner Bob Pancoast is originally from the Philadelphia/New Jersey area which means he brings a lot of his ideas out west. I ended up coming here during the evening of Sunday 9/5/2021 at around 8:30pm. Even though this was 30 minutes before closing time, they still had a very generous amount of customers ordering for dine-in and to-go. Since I live out of town, I decided to dine outside and take advantage of the warm late summer evening. The inside of this place is rather small but still allowed indoor seating as well as TVs, a self-serve fountain drink station, and a single restroom. After looking over the menu, I ended up going with a slice of their sausage, olives, red onions, and cheese while my +1 went with a slice of their pepperoni with jalapeños. Prices here for the slices are fairly reasonable as you can get a fairly generous slice in between the $5-7 range. In addition to the slices, they also make whole pizza pies as well as hoagies, salads, and strombolis. They also carry a fairly decent amount of craft beers on tap.Considering it was quite busy on a Sunday evening, my pizza still only took about 5 minutes until it was ready. Overall, this definitely has a nice unique New York taste to it with the crust being thin while still packing in a ton of flavor. The only real downfall is that since this pizza was sitting under a hot oven for quite some time, it didnt have that 100% fresh out of the oven taste. If I could critique one thing about this place and that is to not have that cracker crust taste to it. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my slice from start to finish. But it was still flavorful, filling, didnt have a whole lot of grease while it was generous with the toppings. The outside area was also well lit and spacious; perfect for those comfortable Bay Area evenings. All in all, panCoast pizza is definitely one of the better mom-and-pop pizza joints. They have fairly generous hours being opened Sunday through Thursday from 11am-9pm and Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-10pm. Decent prices, a very large assortment of specialty pizzas to satisfy all taste buds, and above average customer service. My rating, an above average four stars.
sweetgreen
1556 Mt Diablo Blvd Suite A, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
First and probably last visit. Food was awful, no engagement with staff preparing it, restaurant was dirty. I’d say go more towards grains than greens, unless you want a mouthful of weed-like “mixed greens” also quite miserly with the dressing to cover up all that “lettuce”. No beverages except for canned or bottled whatever’s. I get it we’re anti-soda and healthy but how ‘bout some iced teas and lemonade. For my money I’ll go to Veggie Grill (I’m not even vegetarian) or spend a few dollars more for True Food and actually have a dining experience. I live in the sacramento region and drove over to meet a Bay Area friend of long standing (who is vegan) for lunch and thought we’d give this a try.
Pokeatery
1345 Newell Ave Ste B, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
Located next door to a school of rock and in the same parking lot as a whole foods, getting parking was really easy. I actually parked right in front of the restaurant, which also gave me a great view into the school of rock. Kids. Practicing some song..I feel like I know it but I dont know the name. I couldnt actually hear it. Even when I went into the restaurant though they were right next door, I couldnt hear it. If I didnt have rehearsal that day, I probably would have stayed to eat my food but I got a poke bowl, spam musubi and a strawberry lemonade to go. Everything was absolutely delicious. The food is very fresh, the guy who took my order was very quick and also helped me a lot. Lot. I never been to this place before, and was honestly a bit starved as I hadnt eaten all day. I got a lot of things in my bowl and when I got to rehearsal to eat everything it was almost as if I hadnt left the restaurant. Everything was delicious!
Pieology Pizzeria
505 N Grand Ave Suite E, Walnut, CA 91789, United States
I have seen many people write reviews where they say they wish they could leave a negative star rating and I was always curious on how a situation could be that bad. Well, this Pieology location and repeated bad experiences have given me the perspective that they truly lack an understanding of what customer service is.Many times I had visited while in uniform and told we received a discount, but when I examined my receipt I found that not to be the case. No biggie since I don't expect any special treatment but why offer something you aren't going to honor? Honesty is everything. Then there was another time that I saw bugs all over the restroom and tried to let your management know so they could fix it discreetly, only to be rebuked like I was lying. I brushed it off because everyone has a bad day and food service can be stressful. But today took the cake/pie. My young son loved Pieology because he has multiple food allergies and they have always gone above and beyond to cater to his needs. When it comes to this situation, Pieology and many other businesses voluntarily will ensure their workers change gloves and ensure there is no cross contamination, to the best of their ability. When my wife noticed the worker was not taking some basic steps to do this, she addressed this with who she thought was the manager. This manager immediately went to the employee in question and basically put them on the spot. Human nature is that people will become defensive, it happens. That is why you correct in private and just offer to fix the problem for a customer. But no, this so called manager responds by insinuating my wife was lying and that my 10 year old was arguing with she and the employee. A total fabrication of the facts. When my wife says that the food is not acceptable and that she is going to contact corporate, your response is that “you are the owner” and “you can leave”?I wonder out loud that if my sons allergy was explained in advance and that you totally disregarded your own process to handle these situations, would it be considered an ADA violation. At a total minimum it is horrible customer service and not how you would want yourself or a family member treated. But that's fine. I will just drive a little farther and patronize Blaze, Pizza Press, or Pizza Rev for my individual and business catering needs. They have always understood respect and people's needs. Nobody wants to get sick eating, something a lot of us take for granted.
360 Gourmet Burritos
1558 Newell Ave, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
I was pleased by the veggie burrito. Good size for the price. Ordering online was easy, fast pickup time and food was impressively accurate, including a special request.Unfortunately, restaurant does not offer customers a restroom at all (recommended a nearby grocery store ?♂️), so washing hands or finishing up a dine in experience comfortably are considerations.Food, service and online/ app ordering were all great, disappointed by lack of accommodations and covid/ cdc related safety.
Pizza Guys
1548 Newell Ave, Walnut Creek, CA 94596, United States
Best Pizza hands down. Ive read the reviews here and am disappointed by the couple bad reviews as I have NEVER had a bad experience with them. The pizzas here are like candy they are so good, so probably these people are just the kind that if you dont hold their hand and give them free stuff they write a bad review as a revenge thing. I would say give them a try and order a pizza with the creamy garlic white sauce....its the best ! Thanks to Pizza Guys owners for opening a location here in WC ! I order from you pretty regularly and your people do a great job !!! Cheers !Just a heads up on the delivery....they deliver to me all the time and have always been in the time range they quoted...Pizzas are always hot and ready to eat.
