Pho Vy Restaurant
333 Union Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93307, United States
After trying a few Vietnamese pho places in Bakersfield, and being highly disappointed; we were hesitant to try another one. However, we are relieved to report that Pho Vy is a reputable Vietnamese restaurant. My spouse is Vietnamese and had high standards. This is great for you and me, because its been quality checked and authenticated. We ordered a simple spring roll with their special number 1 Pho. Their Thai basil and sprouts were fresh. They packed the broth separately. Most importantly, they gave generous amounts of tripe and meat! You think Arbys had the meat? Naw... More like pho vy! Its run by a pair of elderly Vietnamese ladies that are truly the sweetest pair ever! We will be returning.

We passed Bakersfield and found this place by accident along the way of our road trip. It turned out a pretty good place. Pho is served in stylish bow and tastes great. Interior has a nice sense of style and decor, not like a typical Vietnamese restaurant. Wait staff was nice. I would recommend.

I have had the pleasure of developing a great taste for delicious Vietnamese food over almost 36 years. Tonight, I had some of the very best atSai Gon Restaurant in Bakersfield, CA. On top of the delicious food, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff attentiveness to customers is first class. Food was served on time, hot, and the plating of each item made each food item cry out to be eaten. There were diners eating in the restaurant and a steady stream of takeout orders being picked up. This is an outstanding Vietnamese restaurant. Try it, you’ll love it!

We stopped by here for lunch on our summer trip from Las Vegas to coastal California. We have had different types of good food on previous days, and this small Vietnamese restaurant in Bakersfield did not disappoint us either. The food was tasty. Their Pho and rice dishes satisfied each and everyone of our family. Kudos to their great service too!

Im like a food critic without the license, and I came from Alaska, so I came to this place after work, and my little brother referred me to this place, lol. Had a food craving. I have massive high-quality taste buds for food and more on the menu to try out. I randomly selected the 2 entree meal combo with orange chicken and broccoli and beef and it all tasted amazing and cooked to perfection and also 2 orders of salt and pepper shrimp that were huge pieces and very flavorful in texture and tried they egg flower soup that the owner served us both and that soup is the best Ive ever tried in a long time and my mom used to come here a lot. I also tried out this mango boba, and the drink surprised me a lot for my first time. Overall wonderful place so far since Ive been here for about several months, and the customer service in the front was very well mannered and helpful throughout our time while enjoying our meal when she shown a lot of patience and was entertaining and funny, so sorry if I forgot your name so keep up the good work from the time I was there at about the time you were almost getting close to closing time on Tuesday night, everything tasted fresh and was very fulfilling with massive portions and great price overall as well. You can park and come inside when they lobby is open or walk here and enjoy the amazing atmosphere they have and the clean environment while dining in or take out or drive through. They also have condiments to get or ask for. I highly recommend them for when youre hungry or family dine in or if youre in a hurry. I have a few recommendations, better employee uniforms and hats to represent the place and logos because they deserve it!. Thicker wider straws for the Boba drinks to make it easier to drink out of. Overall Keep up the good work and the people in the back, and whoever else was working today, they deserves a raise and a couple of new business shirt uniforms and hats and name tags for all the employees. God Bless ??

Pho Hut

Sadly, the quality was of this restaurant has gone down since the original owner sold it about 2 years ago. Today, I ordered the three meat combination plate. The wait person said it included pork chops, chicken, and meatloaf. There were only two meats on my plate (no chicken). When I told my server, she looked a bit worried, and said, “I’m sorry.” I told her to be sure to let the cook know. I guess she was afraid of the cook, or me.This used to be our favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

I remember when this place was a Sizzler 30 years ago! And then Ichiban sushi (owned by my uncle), and then Shangri-la (where the current decor is from), and now Asian Vegan Bistro. Ive been here twice now, and the food has been great so far! The first time, I went for my birthday with a bunch of friends. Most of the food we tried was really good! The only exception was the tonkatsu ramen, which tasted a little funny. I had the spicy beef noodle soup, which was under the Chinese menu so I thought it was going to be more like Taiwanese beef noodle soup, but it ended up more like bun bo hue (which is Vietnamese), with rice noodles. It was still good, just not what I was expecting. The walnut shrimp was also decent but could have used more sauce (my standard for walnut shrimp was the version at Panda Palace back in the day). Happy there is a third fully-vegan restaurant in Bakersfield now (after Better Bowls and Vida Vegan)!
