Reason for visiting: lunchDate/time of visit: Tuesday afternoon, around noonParking: limited parking in the front, some in the back, and on the street. Better to park on the street; the parking in the back is tight (small spaces) and the front is limited due to parking reserved for other businesses.Party size: 2Environment/ambience: not too busy. Restaurant was relatively clean, as was the restroom.Service: prompt and quick. They dont come around often; one of those places you come in for a quick bite and leave. Pay at the front. Mostly Asian peopleFood: had the shrimp, crab, meat, pork with with wonton rice noodle soup (HỦ TIẾU HOÀNH THÁNH, TÔM, CUA, THỊT), which was pretty good (with the soup, not dry). Lemonade is also good.Cost: not too bad, 2 people roughly $25.
Ph 21
21525 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
I am an avid Pho fan! Im known in my rather large family as a Pho fanatic, when I visit from out of town they always take me to their favorite Vietnamese restaurants and wait for my review with baited breath. I have been to Vietnamese restaurants in many cities but in all my Pho adventures none comes close to Pho 21! Not only is the pho clear and flavorful the spring rolls are fresh and delicious and to top it all off the staff is warm and inviting! Wing has my regular order memorized, knows not to even bring a menu and calls me Sis . Hill is just as awesome she always has time for a kind word and a smile. Tom the owners son is super on top of making sure the place is spotless and things are running smoothly! The food is served quickly and is so comforting. Love this place and if you love Vietnamese food you will love this gem!

Pho Chala
8366 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Canoga Park, CA 91304, United States
Pho Chala is a nice, modern looking and very clean Vietnamese restaurant. The menu isnt the most detailed, but what they offer features fresh ingredients, good portions and with little to no salt or oil. The vegetables and meats are of excellent quality and everything is plated quite nicely. Prices are fairly low and on the moderate side. Service is friendly and attentive. Their pho and shaken beef are very good among other dishes, and are popular here. Appetizers like their spring rolls are great and filled with large, fresh shrimp and vegetables. This is the fourth Vietnamese restaurant to occupy this space, hopefully it remains successful.
Asian Sisters Caf
7140 De Soto Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
Asian Sisters is a new Vietnamese-heavy fusion cafe. Most all of the dishes are essentially Vietnamese with elements borrowed from other Asian cuisine, including Thai and Indian. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, among them, I recommend their garlic noodles, which feature crispy garlic over lightly stir fried egg noodles with cabbage. Their Asian Side Noodles are another popular item, with beef and pork stir fried into egg noodles and bean sprouts. Their banh mi is offered with beef, chicken or bbq pork. I recommend the pork. The only thing I wish is that they would grill the French roll...it is both typically done at Vietnamese restaurants, and gives the sandwich some extra texture and flavor. The atmosphere is modern and the restaurant is clean. As for service, the owners are friendly. Prices are moderate.
Cavarettas Italian Deli
22045 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91304, United States
Cavarettas Italian Deli has been a West Valley institution since 1959, and its no surprise. They havent forgotten the formula of providing a quality product, with incredible attention to detail and old school customer service!! Appropriately enough, theyre located on the west end of a section of Sherman Way, between Owensmouth and Shoup, that is known as a bit of a valley time warp....a mile and a half stretch of boulevard that harkens one back to a simpler, more analog time. Independent boutiques, craft shops, health food stores, pubs, pizza places, and Cavarettas all proudly line this length of thoroughfare largely unexploited by corporate big box stores. Walking into Cavarettas, one is instantly transported back to that simpler time....a time when kids went with their parents to the local Italian market to grab ingredients for home cooked meals, or friends met to order hand-sliced sandwiches to take for lunch at the ball game or beach. Want more proof of the old school, analog feel at Cavarettas?? The first thing one does when walking in is take a number....yep, those paper pull tickets....just like the old days at the butcher shop!! And, honestly, theres so much great eye candy in Cavarettas, from the small aisles of imported Italian ingredients in their market (one of the few places in LA to find uncut fusilli pasta....see pic!!), to the shelves upon shelves of Dodgers bobbleheads and LA rock n roll ephemera, including classic 1980s KLOS and KMET band stickers that used to be handed out at legendary LA concerts, that one doesnt even mind the wait!! The music plays behind the counter, and the employees all buzz around to the beat of the music, and seem to be having fun, as they serve customers....and that energy is absolutely infectious!! While I was waiting to be be served, The Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever was playing, and I caught the eye of one of the employees as we were both nodding our heads to the classic tune, and he immediately points to me and asks, Where are we going to? And without missing a beat I answer, Strawberry Fields! He gives a quick affirmative gesture, and says, YEA!! Now, that exchange might be one of those you had to be there moments, but it exemplifies the positive energy and rare attention to customer service that one gets at Cavarettas!! I highly recommend experiencing Cavarettas old school flavor for yourself. Pick up some hard to find ingredients for your next family meal, or grab a sandwich with some of their fresh Boars Head meats, but whatever you do, dont leave without treating yourself to one of their legendary cannolis!! ??

Basils Deli Cafe in Woodland Hills is an absolute gem, and my repeated visits speak volumes about its excellence. Ive savored their culinary delights on five separate occasions, and each time has been a flavor journey beyond compare.Lets start with their hot pastrami sub; its a masterpiece of tender meat, perfectly seasoned and nestled within a fresh, fluffy bun. The flavors meld together in perfect harmony, leaving a lingering satisfaction that keeps me coming back for more. The Philly cheesesteak is a classic done right at Basils. Juicy, succulent strips of beef, smothered in melted cheese, all encased within a crusty roll – its a carnivores dream come true. Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes, showcasing the culinary prowess of the chefs. Now, onto the spicy Gia, Maria Mamma Mia Panini – a mouthful in more ways than one. This fiery creation packs a punch with every bite, yet its balanced with the richness of melted cheese and the freshness of quality ingredients. Its bold, its daring, and its utterly addictive.Their chicken pesto Panini is a testament to simplicity done right. Tender chicken, fragrant basil pesto, and gooey cheese come together to create a symphony of Italian flavors. Its comfort food at its finest, leaving me feeling satisfied and content with each indulgent bite.In summary, Basils Deli Cafe is a culinary haven where every dish is crafted with care and passion. Hoa Viet Market
21001 Sherman Way # 6, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
Visited for the first time today. It is a small market, but it has many of the items you would expect from an Asian grocery. I picked up something I have been looking for, and found someone I didnt know I wanted—but thats one of the cool things about these specialty stores, isnt it? So many things that arent what youd find at Ralphs or Vons! I expect Ill be a regular customer from now on. The prices are really great, and the woman who checked out my order (who is the owner, I gather) was very personable and friendly. Glad to have a store like this so close to home!
