Everyday Vietnamese Cuisine
951 Nord Ave #3, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Stopped in at lunch time looking for a quick-bite before going to an estate sale. THAT was my 1st mistake. I knew of other, better, restaurants but went against my better judgment and walked in. 2nd mistake. The place was empty...and Ill tell you why. Only 3 lunch options besides Phö, so I choose the #3...Combination Teriyaki (beef, chicken, and shrimp) with vegetables and rice. The picture included shows what it was...2 scoops of dried rice, ZERO vegetables, overcooked beef and chicken with 3 small shrimp, 1 small container of sauce, and 1 small Luke-warm pot sticker. In so many words, un-edible!! NO amount of sauce wouldve fixed the palpability of the meat, and after scraping off the top layer, very few bites of rice. Im sorry...3 strikes...NEVER again will I eat here and I mightve found out why the place was devoid of customers. FAR better hole-in-the-wall establishments... Ill just have to look harder next time.

Vietnam Bistro
788 East Ave, Chico, CA 95926, United States
The place was clean. The waitres was helpful and nice. The pho was good at this location. This is the 4th Vietnamese restaurant that Ive visited in Chico. Compared to the others the amount of pho given to us was the smallest in town. I paid $3.50 extra per bowl for extra shrimp. One bowl had 4 shrimp the other 6. I always ask for the vinegered onion and this is the first spot that didnt have it. They didnt have all the ingredients that you usually get at the other pho locations. I will go again and try something else next time but this is not a place I would recommend for pho.

Ph C & C
3211 Cohasset Rd # 110, Chico, CA 95973, United States
This is not a Vietnamese restaurant. The operation is run by people from China. Therefore, the food tastes awful! Even the fish sauce tastes bad. Do not come here if you want to experience authentic Vietnamese food.

Noodle House
605 Mangrove Ave # 130, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Not sure why my sister and I wanted pho on a 93⁰ day, but we did. We saw this place while walking by a different day and had been interested in it since then. On this day we were both craving a bánh mí so we decided to check it out! On the way there, we also started thinking about pho and were talking ourselves into the idea of eating that too (or in addition to) disregarding the weather. Our divided food wishes were answered when we found out that the menu offered a combo meal of a small pho and bánh mí, which we both ended up getting! She got tofu in both of hers, while I got steak in my pho and pork in my bánh mí. I also got a lemonade. It was delicious and hit all the spots, literally. Not only did we get what we set out to get in terms of our food cravings, but it also filled us up completely!Being a combo meal, I half expected each part to be slightly lackluster in comparison to ordering them as their own dish, but boy was I wrong! The small pho is still a lot of food and arguably a size I would want normally to eat and the bánh mí seemed like a normal portion/size too. It ended up being almost too much food, haha. The pho was very flavorful. As with most pho dishes there was a lot of noodles, but I never mind that and it wasnt unexpected. We also got a plate of bean sprouts, thai basil, lime, and jalapeno to add as we pleased. They also offered a hot/chili type sauce to add as well if wanted. Speaking for my own, the bánh mí was perfectly crispy and loaded with pork, again with a great flavor! In terms of the building and staff. My sister and I were the only ones in there, but we did go at an off-meal time. The staff was very friendly. They did have A/C running and the place seemed clean too.Overall, we really enjoyed eating at Noodle House and I 100% will be back again.I highly recommend if you like Vietnamese food!

Pho Bonsa
221 Normal Ave B, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Among the best Vietnamese restaurants in the vast region including Sac metro. I think Pho Bonsa is comparable to our long time favorite Pho City in Sac, but Bonsa is even better in terms of soup. Surprisingly all our super picky little kids finished all the food including soup. It was a great discovery for us and great addition to once disappointing county for pho lovers. The only disappointment was lack of choices on menu. My most favorite Vietnamese food is vermicelli but Bonsa doesn’t have any.

TasteMe Tea
2485 Notre Dame Blvd #390, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Went with husband Saturday, May 24, 24. Delicious Bhan Mi Vietnamese sandwiches. I had pork and pork pate, and hubby had house special. We also had the Parmesan fries. I had the winter melon fruit tea with brown sugar boba, and hubby had milk strawberry tea. The bread was perfection, crispy fresh and flavorful. Every element on the sandwiches was seasoned and fresh, carrot slaw, cucumber, herbs, and other fresh components made eating a delightful experience. The Parmesan fries were hot, fresh and well seasoned with garlic, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Both our drinks were superb as well. Fresh and pretty atmosphere, lovely staff and perfect service.

MY Oriental Market
2550 S Whitman Pl, Chico, CA 95928, United States
I recently moved to Chico from Sacramento. In Sac asian markets have really taken off within the last ten years. Being someone who was raised there though, MNY Oriental market takes me back to when I was a child. When the local asian market was just a small shop that was crammed with amazing ingredients that are hard to find and amazingly priced. Its nostalgic but definitely a positive outlook on this place. I hope they can grow and expand in the future. With that said... The selection at this place is incomparable to others when you are looking for asian ingredients in the area. The people who run this place are knowledgeable and always willing to help you find a product. So, if youre in the area and want to find some amazing ingredients at good prices, definitely stop by.

Crispy Eggroll
477-491 E Park Ave, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Used to come here a bit but I will no longer be returning.Fly was in their chili oil which i put in my noodles before even noticing, mixed up my noodles and took two bites and saw it and didnt eat anymore of it. Called them immediately and they said I could come back to get a replacement. Called them on my way and was told they sold out of their curry noodle and I said thats fine can I get the sticky rice noodles instead which they said yes. I arrive and they wanted to just give me an extra chilli oil, now why would I want a replacement chili oil when a fly was in it to begin with? Was told two different times I could get a replacement meal to arrive and not receive what Im told. Wasted my money, apparently you're supposed to pick the fly out and just continue to eat your noodles with fly particles in it.

Mekkala Thai Cuisine
1196 E Lassen Ave Suite 110, Chico, CA 95973, United States
I was craving Thai food and wanted to try a different place---Mekkala did not disappoint!! In fact, probably the best Thai food Ive had in Chico in a long while. Ordered red curry, beef salad, and appetizer sampler. Curry and appetizers were still hot when I got home. Thai beef salad was on point, plenty of tender beef slices, red onion, mild chili spice, and herbs with that salty and sour, kinda pungent dressing Im addicted to, on a bed of lettuce---love it. Egg rolls and chicken satay were bigger than others Ive had---chicken was tender, not rubbery or dry as I have had from other places in the past---served with a delicious house made yellow color sweet and sour type of sauce. Red curry was steaming when I got home (yes, literally steaming hot), packed with a heap of fresh vegetables---and it was a good variety of crisp tender vegetables, not soggy or overcooked (and no disappointing loads of canned baby corn and canned bamboo shoots... ) Ordered the Mild+ spice level which was spot on, spicy hot chili oil and chili flakes swirling on top with the coconut milk, but not so much to make it unenjoyable. It was that addictive spice, that makes you sweat a little like a crack addict (spoon after spoon), but it wasnt burn your mouth to the point you couldnt enjoy it. On another note, I find a lot of Thai places make their curries too sweet, red curry generally seems to be the least sweet IMO. Mekkala red curry had a superb balance of spices, heat and sweetness with plenty of that lovely Thai basil herb. They informed me on the phone that curries were a $1.00 extra due to some sort of coconut milk shortage or supply issue---WORTH IT!! IDC! Take my money! P.S. felt bad for the nice young man who dropped the receipt printer/card reader (it totally broke) and they had pretty much just opened for dinner service...he said something like, oh no...im boned! Sorry bro, feels bad. However, if I have to pay with cash or gemstones...so be it! IDC! Take my money! Just dont stop making your delicious food. Thank You!

The Banshee
134 W 2nd St, Chico, CA 95928, United States
My wife and I decided to give this place a try after seeing it on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. As soon as we walked in we were surprised that it really didnt look anything like it did on the show. It was very dark and obviously it was a bar not a restaurant. I know they address this on the show but it looked more like a bar / restaurant instead of a bar that serves some food. there was no one there to greet us or tell us where we could sit so we decided to sit ourselves. We only found one open table and it was dirty. We asked one of the staff members to clean it and she kept telling us she would in a minute. She continuously walk back and forth next to our table however never stopped clean it. At this point I was going to clean it myself when a different staff member came over and cleaned it. there was no menus and they asked us to order before even letting us see what they serve. After asking for menus we placed our order. My wife had the fish tacos and I had the pulled pork sandwich. The food took quite a long time and I was quite surprised at the slow service. There were several tables around us that were also complaining about how bad the service was. Several of the guests at the other tables got up and went and found their own menus because the staff was not bringing the men you just as they did not bring us menus. Once they finally brought our food we advised them that we did not have napkins or forks and were told that they were in a bucket on the table. This bucket was empty and we had to find staff to go get us napkins and forks. The food was sufficient but nothing special. I was very surprised as I expected a more. My wife said the fish tacos were pretty good but nothing to write home about. My pulled pork sandwich had very little flavor and it was not spicy in anyway even though its called The Spicy pulled pork sandwich. It tasted like something you would get from Applebees. the service was the biggest issue though. Even after we were done eating we had to ask someone to get us a check because they would not come check on you at all. The guest next to us had the same problem finally just went to a manager complained about not getting a check and just gave them a debit card and said just to charge them so they can leave. So all in all I would say this is a bar not a restaurant and two go there with the expectations of going to a bar. The food is nothing special and you might as well just go to Applebees. The service is absolutely horrendous and be prepared to Serve Yourself. Very disappointingI might have just got a bad night because there seemed to be an issue with the staff. The two female waitresses seem to be arguing with each other and one of them even went and complained to the male waitress who very loudly yelled at her that he did not care. They appear to have some issues tonight.
