Teriyaki Madness
875 Middlefield Rd, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
I ordered spicy teriyaki chicken bowl to go, and got regular one instead. I was very hungry so the food was good to me, but there was not much sauce on the chicken. The staff was polite! The wait for the food was quick, but they got my order wrong, which was saddening.I didnt check it while I was there and got home before opening it, but what I ended up with was good. If I would have checked my order before leaving Im sure it would have been resolved appropriately because the staff seemed very nice.Just make sure you check what you ask for!
Aroma house
3215 Oak Knoll Dr C, Redwood City, CA 94062, United States
Nice little restaurant tucked away in a pretty serious and silent neighborhood. It can even be a little hard to spot. We were the only one dining at the time of our visit, probably because it was a weekday afternoon. We ordered mango lassi, pesto naan, garlic naan, and kadai paneer. Each item was deliciously prepared and piping hot when it arrived, except for the lassi of course. It was among the best weve had in the Bay! Service was a bit slow, but nothing to complain about. The curries come with a side of rice. We also had the veggie momo and some really nice masala chai. Definitely deserves a bigger crowd crowd!

Where do I start? This is by far the worst that I have EVER been treated, worst service, worst drinks, worst everything. Definitely wont be coming back. First gave me the wrong drink, and I just let it go and asked for a new one. But when they started giving my daughter dirty looks and handed me the drink back I realized that they had put a ton of bobba when I had asked for none. When I asked who was in charge, they told me that nobody was. One of the girls seemed under an influence of some sort. She refused to give me her name but I thought I heard jocelyn from a coworker which was also under an influence. He had earrings and was on his phone the whole time. I hope you hire more responsible people next time around. Another thing, you should consider a deep clean every once in a while, my daughter found a fruit fly in her drink. Another reason we wont be coming back.

I was in that mood where you want to eat, but not sure what you want. It was good to try something new. I seen all these people come in and out of the restaurant. I thought, well this place might be pretty good. Well, yes it was!! Yummy Asian Fusion. The shrimp and steak, scrumptious! Shrimp was crunchy and the steak so tender. Some spice, I’m not much on spicey. All and all a very yummy yummy place to eat. Can’t wait to go back and get some noodles! Ray it was such a pleasure meeting you!!Thank you ?
Sushirrito
2053A Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
*The hottest spot in FiDi*If youre undecided about going Latin or Japanese for lunch, Sushirito solves that dilemma in a nifty burrito. Youve got to plan ahead though. The line out the door starts as early as 11am and I usually stroll over around 11:30am to wait in line for about 10-15min. There are less than 10 rolls and my favorite is the Salmon Samba. The creaminess of the teri-mayonesa nicely contrasts against the vinegary cucumber and agave soy king salmon. It comes without any sides for $10, pricey but satisfying. Another crowd favorite (as youll hear it repeatedly in line) is the Geisha's Kiss:Yellowfin Tuna (Hand-Line Caught), Tamago, Piquillo Peppers, Yuzu Tobiko, Lotus Chips, Namasu Cucumber, Butter Lettuce, AvocadoSesame White Soya. I liked it but definitely lean towards the Samba. I tried the salad once and it had too much lettuce and not enough of other ingredients to balance it, making it a bit underwhelming. Ill stick to my favorite, the Samba! I have to admire the entrepreneur who realized that giant sushi rolls (uncut) would be such a hit as sushi burritos.

CORNER TABLE

Updated review:Came back and its nice to see that they fixed their growing pains. Ordered quick and food and drinks came out in timely manner. Ordered fried chicken sandwich which turned out to be buffalo style which I dont remember seeing in the description. Strawberry cruffle for the kid, a biscoff cruffle for dessert. My sister and friend got the fish and chips and they both really liked it. The cruffles were great. The chicken sandwich was ok I think if I knew it was buffalo I would have ordered something else. Ube milk tea was pretty good too. Overall food is still good and better service now.Original review:Saw this come up as new place on yelp and food looked good. Came here with some friends to try out. Ordered strawberry cruffle, all day burger, kimchee burger, Korean fried chicken, and loco moco. We all loved the strawberry cruffle, that was super yummy, kiddo liked it a lot. I would definitely order that again, not as dense and more like croissant like. The all day burger had a hot link in it which I dont remember from the description but it gave it a nice smokey flavor and the garlic fries were delicious. Kimchee burger was ok, it had fermented kimchee so was a bit sour for me and little hard to bite through. I prefer the all day burger. Loco moco was pretty good too. Fried chicken surprisingly had a kick to it, which I liked. Overall food is good.I think they still have some growing pains since they havent been open that long so theyre not that consistent with cooking things. All of our wagu burgers were cooked differently, med, well, and medium rare. The gravy for the loco moco was to thick. Mind you they didnt ask how we wanted it. I think they are little understaffed as the cashier kept leaving to serve food which left people waiting to order. These all can be fixed and hopefully they iron it out cause the food is good.
Falafel and things
975 Veterans Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
I came here after seeing the very high reviews, and drove right by it since I didn't realize it was a food truck. Parking on a Wednesday night along the street was pretty tough but found a spot around the corner down the street (seems like there was a church service starting) I ordered ahead online and my food was ready when I arrived.Ordered the vegetarian plate, chicken and steak plate, and a hibiscus tea. Veggie plate came with three large falafels (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) three dolmas (fresh and tangy) babaghanoush (my favorite, smoky and creamy) hummus with some sort of creamy sauce on it (I'm never impressed with hummus so it was standard), a couple of pickles (too salty for my taste but my bf liked them) and shredded lettuce and cabbage/raw onion mix.For the chicken/beef plate I asked for extra hot sauce on the side but it came on top of the meat so it was too spicy for me to enjoy. The rice had good flavor and the pita was warm and soft but I couldn't eat much of it. Also came with lettuce/cabbage/onions.Hibiscus tea was very refreshing, I added club soda to it since I don't like drinks too sweet and it was perfect. There were a few gritty bits that took me by surprise that I think might have been from the sugar? But it was delicious.Overall, good value with the amount of food for slightly lower than usual Bay Area prices. I live in the city so would probably go back and try something else if I was in the area.
Zareens Restaurant & Catering
2039 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
I am a long-standing customer at Zareen's Mountain View and Palo Alto branch. I love the food there and keep going back for more. Today I dined at the Redwood City restaurant for the first time. Inside decor was really cool. Very clean restaurant with plenty outdoor seating. The reason I took off stars - I had ordered my usual chicken boti sizzler that I have been eating from few years now, it's their signature dish. However, today it had multiple issues. It was extremely salty. It was that salty that tongue felt burnt towards the end. I am still gulping tons of water to kick off that extra sodium. Also, as it was a sizzler, it came on the hot plate. It was that hot that it kept sizzling for the next 5 mins. It looked cool to other costumers sitting nearby, but for us - we started coughing, it smoked for too long. When that got over, we realized with so much heat the chicken got over cooked. In fact the layer of chicken and onions below was completely burnt and had to be discarded. I would say - please serve the regular food - it got spoiled by adding extra gimmicks. Parantha was as usual great, super oily but great. This review was specific to Redwood City branch. I will keep going to Mountain view and Palo Alto ones. 5 starts for them!Update: the manager reached out to me personally and explained that it was a one-off incident. I am really impressed with the kind of genuine concern she expressed. This shows the strong character to own up and that the restaurant really care about the customers. I wouldn't expect this kind of courtesy from most of the restaurants. As a longstanding customer of this chain, I already am aware of the delicious food they have been serving from years. She graciously offered to refund for the item that I wasn't happy with. I would give “awesome” rating to their customer service. I am changing my stars from 2 to 4, all for their excellent customer service!
Timber & Salt
881 Middlefield Rd, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
Timber and Salt is a small restaurant in the main pedestrian thoroughfare of Redwood City. It's a little bit more upscale than its fast casual neighbors (though no need to dress up). There's not too much space inside and the decor is timber themed. The bar is very pretty though quite crowded.I have been there a few times now and it is usually pretty good. The smash burger is excellent - sweet, spicy, creamy and salty with a great blend of textures. It's the only burger I've ever had that makes good use of bread and butter pickles. The candied bacon adds a rich decadence. Of other things I've tried, the gnocchi is unremarkable, and the apple cobbler dessert is very comforting. The olives are too salty for my liking.I most often sit at the bar, and the bartenders seem quite experienced. They chisel their own ice, and the cocktail menu is extensive and adventurous. The bartenders are very busy and are not conversationalists - some are somewhat friendly and some are more transactional, but none of them tell stories about the food or drinks, or seem that interested in getting to know people even if they are regulars in the neighborhood. It seems like they are trying to rebrand as a steak house to charge premium prices (you'll notice that the menus in images are quite different than the menu on their website given the shift) - if you are looking for a steakhouse experience, I don't think you will find that here. The restaurant is too small to be grand and too casual in my opinion to merit a “steakhouse” title. My guess is that they're trying this angle because Arya, their steakhouse neighbor, just moved to Palo Alto, so they may see a gap in the market. But I would never buy their $150 steak, because this does not feel like a celebration style restaurant. It doesn't have special occasion vibes - it's a little too dark, busy, and cafe-like - and the service while attentive is not five star.If I could break it down, I would give:Three stars for serviceThree stars for ambianceThree stars for wineFour stars for food
