Asian Kitchen
30271 Golden Lantern Suite D, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
My partner and I dined at Asian Kitchen for our second time, this evening. The couple that owns the restaurant used to manage a restaurant in Dana Point, that we frequented for years before moving to Mission Viejo, and we have only had great experiences dining with them. So we were very excited to learn about their new restaurant opening at Marina Hills in Laguna Niguel. The food is fantastic, and we are very picky when it comes to good Asian cuisine. Its a genre that is severely lacking (great places at least) in this area. We have tried quite a few dishes, and they were ALL excellent, but I am especially loving the Salt & Pepper Calamari and the French Style Beef.I hope that Asian Kitchen has a successful and bright future ahead. We will be weekly regulars, just as we were in Dana. Thank you for the wonderful food and hospitality!!!
Good Choice Sushi Restaurant
30251 Golden Lantern # F, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
This review pains me a great deal as I have known the owners for nearly 20 years. I used to frequent the establishment when I first moved to the area in 2002; but that tapered off after a few rather unfortunate incidents involving poor service in and around 2010. The company began to employee younger and younger servers who did not seem to understand customer service, which I often consider a lost art form.I would periodically visit the establishment for convenience sake as I had adjusted my expectations accordingly. Slowly thereafter I would cease visiting the establishment, opting for other sushi places in the area or getting my orders as to-go orders to avoid the underwhelming customer service.I left the area temporarily in 2020 and returned in 2022. I decided to give Good Choice Sushi another shot and I was surprised that I was receiving good customer service and good sushi; but this did not lost long. What was most unfortunate was that the sushi chefs appear to control the establishment. For some reason, the establishment did not seem to have an actual manager, instead leaving the managerial tasks to the sushi chefs, which was quite unfortunate and many of them were quite rude and cocky. The straw that broke the camels back was after I visited Good Choice sushi after a short hiatus. There were only 2 servers on one of their sushi roll nights. You naturally expect some delays when specials are running as opposed to the nights I would go there absent any specials as I was visiting the establishment on a frequent basis, either Friday or Saturday and either a Monday or a Wednesday. I was a good patron and I tip well, so I expect good customer service. That night, however, the server was what we in the restaurant business call in the weeds, which happens; but in such cases, adjustments for poor staffing need to be provided. I ordered some sushi rolls on special with some cut rolls. I tried to get the servers attention several times before the 9:00 cut-off for the sushi roll special as well as to order some additional cut rolls; however, the sushi chef refused to accept the order advising the server that it was past the deadline. The server was experienced, so she should have advocated for the customer and for the fact that it was her fault because the establishment was understaffed and she was the one who failed to come to the table despite my repeated attempts to gain her attention for over 15 minutes. That was the last time I visited Good Choice Sushi in Laguna Niguel. That was about 4 months ago.The funny thing is many of us locals to this establishment have commonly referred to Good Choice Sushi in Laguna Niguel as: Good Choice? Is it? I now have to conclude after giving Good Choice Sushi repeated attempts to overcome what many of us know about the establishment as No. It isnt a Good Choice!I am sorry, Michelle, because I believe you are a good person; but a poor restaurateur. You need to hire employees who care about the establishment and your customers. You cannot spend most of your time at your other location and leave the customers who provided you with the means to open the other location feeling dissatisfied, displeased, and neglected. Loyalty goes both ways, and I am sad to see that you do not value your customer base in Laguna Niguel as you once did all those years ago.
New Mandarin Garden Restaurant
23902 Aliso Creek Rd, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
We had a bad experience with the food. The male server was nice. We ordered the Kung pao dish with 3 meats but replaced the beef with pork. The pork and chicken tasted awful, you can tell it was very old. The fried rice was saturated with oil and the wonton soup came out warm not hot. We only asked for an exchange for a different dish on the Kung Pau dish, we were afraid to eat it for fear of getting sick. The server was super nice but the lady name Ginger went back in the kitchen was literally screaming ? the whole time until the dish was done cooking then she brought it out and slammed it down on our table and walked away. We didnt eat that dish or the rice. We payed our bill and left. We will never go back and we do not recommend this place for the food quality. It was awful. Prices are extremely high for low quality.
Sango Sushi Restaurant
Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
This place is great. I moved here from NYC and was looking around the area for just regular sushi. Everything around here was fried, Mayo covered sushi. I don't scope out authentic Japanese sushi when I'm craving sushi but I just wanted sushi that wasn't basically carnival food or gross. Many of the places in the area had questionable fish quality. This place checks all of the boxes. Cooked sushi if you want it, raw, innovative sushi, or just basic rolls. The price is also the best in the area. Always something on special. Lastly, I am extremely sensitive to fishy sushi. I'll eat raw fish but not cooked fish because fishiness is the only flavor my palette can't handle. Nothing here has ever seemed old or room temperature. The texture of the fish, the temperature, and the taste are all on point. The last place I ordered before here was twice as expensive and had a slime texture on every piece of fish. We only order here now. Great staff too. They can be long for takeout but it's because they're following guidelines and are overwhelmed, but not because they're slow.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
27000 Alicia Pkwy Suite D, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
I love PICK UP STIXS. But when it comes to customer service... HORRIBLE at this location. Ordered the most simplest kids meal.. Orange Chicken and white rice. And everything gets thrown together in a small container. Didnt order a bowl. And anyone that has kids KNOWS how they can be picky. Reordered a lunch plate, didnt want the restaurant to take a loss. Paid for both orders! And the mgr still had an attitude? With no kids present! Not a kid friendly restaurant. Maybe a pick and up and goooo! Absolutely no welcoming feeling in there. Go to another location or a different asian restaurant.
Pho the Bowl
27931 La Paz Rd A, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
I love this place because theyre the only pho restaurant that I know of that doesnt put soy in their broth...since I cant have any kind of soy. And Asian food of any kind that I can have other than plain white rice makes me so happy❣Especially, since Im half Chinese. Dont get confused...because pho is not Chinese...I like and miss lots of Asian dishes. Since I cant have wheat or corn of any kind either.?
WaBa Grill
30190 Town Center Dr Ste C, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
Ok but not great. The salad was dosed in so much dressing as to be soaked in it. Had a Waba plate, the beef was basically finely shredded super thin slice it was hardly recognizable as steak and way overcooked. The chicken was decent for teriyaki chicken. The dumplings were pretty good. Fast for reheated food, probably would not go there unless there were no other better choices.
Jizake Sushi -
30001 Crown Valley Pkwy #C, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
This review is for the Jizake Sushi in Costa Mesa.I arrived when restaurant was empty. The waitress attempted to seat me at the worst table for no particular reason. She started asking if Id like to order appetizers or drinks before Id even sat down ant taken my jacket off. (I hadnt even looked at the menu yet). The waitress proceeded to hover and watch over me as I looked at the menu which was extremely uncomfortable. When I asked what the difference between Agedashi Tofu and Tofu Nugget she had no idea. She had to go back and ask, then came back and kept repeating over and over that one was stirred as if this would explain it. The waitress also kept coming back about every five minutes. In short, the waitress was in my face the entire time, interrupting my conversation and lingering too long each time. She seemed extremely inexperienced or just clueless, and made being there very irritating.Aside from the poor service, the food was not good. The portions were very stingy. The pieces of fish on the sushi were all only about 1x1 in size and WARM. The fish did not taste or look fresh. They kept falling off the rice when Id pick them up. The rolls looked cute, but were over handled and tiny. Plus they didnt hold together at all when picked up with chopsticks. I ordered a miso soup. The portion was tiny and the soup looked and tasted as if the base had come straight out of a powdered mix - it was extremely salty, and the tofu in it was sour and spongy tasting.I couldnt understand how this place has 4 & 5 star reviews until I saw that on each table there is a card that offers a discount on your meal if you LIKE them on Yelp. The food is not that good, although it looks cute. It is way overpriced and the service is terrible. I wouldnt recommend this for your money. Try Nana San up the road instead
Flame Broiler
27020 Alicia Pkwy C, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, United States
Love the food and typically the service is great. There's a Hispanic girl who is personable and efficient. Last two times an older Persian lady has been there. She doesn't come to counter immediately, I saw her on Facebook sitting in a customer table. She looks bored and mumbled something. Last night she was eating Cup of Noodles not even Flame Broiler food and again on her phone sitting in a customer's table. She had Persian music BLASTING on her phone you couldn't hear the TV over the Farsi singer. Again no hello, thank you, nothing. She hates her job and customers and the food ITS OBVIOUS. Love the food, but last nights front counter help needs to go.
Panda Express

I was curious about the beyond orange chicken but I didnt originally get it. At the cashier I was asked it that was all, and I told him I was curious about the beyond entree. They told me just for a bit extra, a bigger plate instead of just a plate I could get another protein, so I went for it, it wasnt busy so I didnt worry. The older gentleman behind me was curious also so I allowed him to try a bite of the beyond chicken, something that made me happy to share. After having the full portion I can review saying it tasted very much like the orange chicken, however without the distinctive crunch satisfaction I get from regular orange chicken + the premium price I dont think Id get it again, until those are adjusted at least.
