Thai Classic in Paso
1212 Park St, Paso Robles, CA 93446, United States
For the price, this was very bland thai food. Let me clarify the Lab sauce was vinegar and oil, no sign of lime juice or fresh pounded chillies or holy basil. The spicy noodles were sweet!, how disappointing. To top all of this they tried to charge me double the price, except I reviewed the charge and while they apologized it was not sincere. Im the locals like this place and think the food is good, however one as an Asian and two having been to Thailand, this restaurant is not even close.

Yanagi Sushi & Grill

Went to the restaurant with my family for my bbirthday on June 15. We sat at the grill. I got the shrimp and steak. The usual artistry grill cook was low energy and didnt listen to how I would like my steak and shrimp. I asked for my steak medium rare, he made it well done. I asked for my shrimp to be cooked more and he refused to cooked it more saying it was cooked well. Our friend rice has sesame seed in it and no vegetables, just egg and under cooked brown rice-very odd. Our whole party was suppose to get soup with our meals, and we didnt get it after our meal when we asked for it. I complained and they could care less. They didnt try to fix the issues at all. I let things go because it was my birthday and I didnt want to make a scene. What a poor time we had. I have been going to this restaurant for 10 years. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK, the employees were that rude and careless. Thankfully, there are plenty of other good restaurants in the area.

Panda Express

Usually have good experiences here. Today we placed an online order. I know they're busy so we showed up 20 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready and it still wasn't ready. When we checked the order they left out half of one of the entrees, and gave us 3 rangoons when we ordered 12. We went back in to tell them that the order was wrong and the girl working the register asked us if we need 7 rangoons. We told her we needed 9, because we paid for 12 and got 3. The girl hesitated and looked towards her manager. He said asked us what we needed and we repeated what we had paid for. He looked at the girl and just nodded as if she was allowed to give us what we had already paid for. When we got home we noticed they still shorted us 3 rangoons. There was no silverware or sauces either. All the stickers on the food showed exactly what we had ordered and they are the ones who royally messed up, yet were acting like we were trying to scam them or something. Terrible customer service. Food was subpar. Rice wasn't even cooked all the way.

Samurai Sushi & Roll
1131 Creston Rd #99, Paso Robles, CA 93446, United States
This place got a lot of good reviews, but it just didnt work for us. Theyve done a nice job of decorating, but the rock/hip hop/rap music made us feel like we were sitting in a bar doing shots instead of in a restaurant eating sushi. That might be a plus for some, but it was a mood killer for us. The rolls were generous, but they were so loosely rolled that every piece fell apart the instant we picked it up. The prices are comparable with other sushi restaurants in the area; no great deals here. The service was neither good nor bad; the food was neither good nor bad; so I am giving them three stars. If you like to eat sloppy sushi to the beat of rock/hip hop/rap music, then youll love this place. We didnt.

Rean Kaew Thai Cuisine

Chicken that tasted days old. I had the lunch special Hot Chicken. It came with a small, or should I say micro, salad and a small bowl of soup. Both these were fair. The main entree however was hardly edible. Besides being very small pieces of a very small chicken, it was either extremely overcooked or reheated as it was almost like eating chicken jerky. Not recommended!

If you enjoy Asian food, but dont have time (or money) for a sit-down restaurant, then this is the place to go. Ive been seeing these pop up in places like the Bay Area and Vegas, but we finally have one in Paso! So far, Ive only gone for the bowl and I thoroughly enjoy the Classic, but Ill be trying a burrito, too.

Not a pleasant experience or maybe we went on the wrong time.1. Took a video of how wine tasting experience but host seems irritated and obviously not fond of someone taking video. She should have told us the first time that video is not allowed. She even quickly asked and checked my phone what's on the video.2. Everybody served water in fine glass but us, and when asked if we can get water we were served in cheap clear plastic soft disposable cups.3. Now maybe she got irritated coz I'm wearing a souvenir NYPD baseball cap and I was asked why I'm wearing it. Even joking sarcastically I'm wearing it maybe to scare people. I was like whats wrong with this lady. Its just a cap and I dont want to be political.4. We've been to 2 other wineries that day and both we had a blast and no toxic environment. Bottles for reds and whites cost +$30 but here $65 a bottle.5. Kudos though, the Indian owner went out and greeted us earlier on our table and she seems very nice and even graciously told us short story why she acquired ownership of the wineries and the tastes behind the pairing cheeses served. We like her but other than that it was not a pleasant experience. We still left good tip to the host server if you will ask.

Tudor Wines Tasting Room

Lovely Pinot Noirs, a must visit if you enjoy this varietal. Also featuring nice white wines also made from select Monterey area vineyards (cooler temps make for the best Pinot Noir and white wine varietals). Warm, welcoming tasting room atmosphere and central location next to the historic downtown park, restaurants and shopping. They also offer complimentary, excellent espresso! We highly recommend.

Paso Soul Food Grill

Visited Friday, 22 July 2022We tried visiting on the Thursday prior but there was a note on the door that stated they were closed because of the fair, so we returned the next day full of anticipation because of all the raving reviews. The exterior of the restaurant has bar-style seating facing the road. Inside has a few high-top tables/chairs and two short 6-seater tables/chairs. To the right of the cashier it looked like it also had bar-style seating. Overall, seating seemed limited as there was a lot of empty floor space; perhaps they plan to add more since the business is only ~4 months old.As you walk in, the cashier and ordering counter is straight ahead, you cant miss it (this may create some safety issues at the entrance/exit if too many people are in line waiting to order). To the right on the wall is the menu but you can check it out online before getting to the restaurant to save some time. You order and pay at the cashier, select a seat if dining in, then your food is brought to your table by the order number on your ticket.I was undecided so I ordered the dark meat combo (chicken): 2 legs, 1 thigh, 1 combo side (red beans & rice), and cornbread - $18.99; I also got a bag of cajun whole crawfish (1lb) - $19.99; and a side of fried okra - $6.99.We dined in. The food came out on a plastic tray. The crawfish was in a clear plastic bag inside a brown take out cardboard container. It had wedges of lemon inside and gloves to keep your hands semi-clean. The crawfish smelled good and looked well-seasoned but it tasted more buttery than cajun to me. Overall it was just okay. The dark meat combo (chicken) came out on the same tray except it was in a styrofoam to-go box. The chicken was fried golden brown with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. It was well-seasoned and did not need any additional condiments, except pepper sauce if you like it spicy. Be mindful, chicken is made to order so it could be up to a 20 minutes wait. There is a handwritten note to inform customers of this near the menu. The red beans and rice were good but the cornbread seemed a bit bland. My fried okra came out in a small yellow paper bag. That was the best part of my meal. They were fried fresh so they were steamy hot. They had a nice crispy exterior, moist inside, and perfectly seasoned. Yummy! For drinks - there is no alcohol. Fountain drinks are available for $3.50 and include free refills. Koolaid is also available for $2.99 but no refills. And there are a variety of bottled drinks. The portions are good and overall the food was good. I was definitely stuffed and satisfied leaving there. The soul food option is definitely a welcome alternative to the generally American and Mexican cuisines in the surrounding area.

J Dusi Wines- Winery and Tasting Room
1401 CA-46, Paso Robles, CA 93446, United States
The service was cold. We were surprised that the server did not talk about the wines in any detail. They spent more time talking to coworkers and other customers. Maybe towards the end it got friendlier after I tipped 20%, which I now regret. My husband and I wanted to do something special for my 31st bday so we decided on going to paso robles. We normally go wine tasting in los olivos so this was our first time in the area. We made a reservation beforehand and let them know we have our dog with us.We sat inside in the back. There were flies everywhere. Our server gave the bare minimum. We assume its cause we look young and Im asian, and they assumed that we wont spend a lot of money that we werent treated better. This is really sad cause we would spend more time at a tasting and we would purchase more bottles if the wine tasted good and if we were enjoying the service. Also every other winery and restaurant that we visited during our trip treated us warmly and impeccably except for J Dusi. The wines we tasted seemed like they were just opened and needed more time to breathe. Maybe it was our fault for coming in at 12 pm.The table next to us, the server, was super friendly and helpful. I also noticed our server spend more time at other tables. At one point, a fly got into my husbands wine, and we informed the server, and the server just took away the wine, and my husband didnt get to taste more of it. d, we were asked if we wanted to revisit or if we would like to try the zin port. It made it seem like we can only revisit a wine once or we can taste another wine once. We opted for the zin port. At many other wineries we have visited, you can revisit a number of wines and taste other bottles if they were open. This was not offered as an option to us.We were in and out of that place in 50 mins while other tables in there lasted longer. We purchased a bottle of the paper street mourvedre and the zin port. I even tipped 20%, which i shouldnt have. This place was recommended by a friend of ours, thats why we visited. However, we will not be coming back ever.
