Fantastic Asian fusion restaurant. I specifically recommend doing their lunch combos. They come in to go containers which is nice because I always have some leftovers. I highly recommend the blistered green beans and drunken noodles. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is great and if I lived a little closer I’d probably be here more often.
Namaste Spiceland
821 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States
Namaste Spiceland prices are unreasonably high. It makes sense to buy something at this store only if you are in urgency and have no other choice. But if you do have a choice then stay away from this place.PRICE:I did a thorough price comparison on a variety of Indian grocery items listed at Namaste Spiceland and other Indian grocery stores. Namaste Spiceland prices are anywhere between 57%-180% higher than other Indian grocery stores in Woodland Hills.Next I compared their prices with Valley Produce in Simi Valley which has a wide range of Indian and other ethnic groceries and Valley Produce prices are much much much lower than Namaste Spiceland. Take a Sona Masoori rice bag for example, Valley produce sells it between $12.99-$13.99, depending on brand for a 20lb rice bag and Namaste Spiceland is selling the same for $16.99 - $19.99.VIOLATIONS06/16/2016 INSPECTIONEMPLOYEE PRACTICES - A FOOD HANDLER WAS OBSERVED NOT PROPERLY WASHING HANDS BEFORE HANDLING FOOD OR CLEAN UTENSILS.EQUIPMENT SANITATION- EQUIPMENT/UTENSILS USED IN THE PREPARATION AND DISPLAY OF FOOD ARE NOT NON-TOXIC, NON-CORROSIVE, ARE NOT CONSTRUCTED, INSTALLED OR MAINTAINED TO BE EASILY CLEANED, OR ARE NOT KEPT CLEAN AND IN GOOD REPAIR.EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE- PLUMBING FIXTURES ARE LEAKING OR IN DISREPAIR.EQUIPMENT SANITATION- CUTTING BLOCKS, BOARDS OR SURFACES ARE NOT RESURFACED AS NEEDED TO BE EFFECTIVELY CLEANED AND SANITIZED.REPEATED VIOLATIONS ->check decadeonline websiteCockroaches, you dont have to be lucky to find one, chances are you will find them along the aisles, kitchen and restroom areas. Speaking of restroom, unless your bladder is begging you to drain it out, dont you dare step inside their restrooms.Food, is average quality nothing to rave, just like normal street food that you get elsewhere.Bottom line, if you are living in and around Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and you need Indian groceries and ethnic vegetables drive to Valley Produce and purchase there. Even stores like ISS, Sunshine in Woodland Hills sell good at higher price compared to Valley Produce in Vanowen St and Simi.If you are one among those who purchases groceries in bulk then head out to Artesia with your family, purchase groceries at dirt cheap prices, enjoy lunch and dinner at some of the finest restaurants there, then watch an Indian movie, stroll along the Blvd and come home. End of the day you would have spent your money wisely. All the best
Thousand Wok Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar
450 N Moorpark Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States
Ordered the orange chicken, will never eat at this restaurant again...half the pieces didnt have chicken and the rest were extremely dry. Felt like I was eating week old food with no flavor. Also, this is the only Asian restaurant I have been to that doesnt serve rice with entree (must pay extra...)
Exotic Thai Cafe
1930 Newbury Rd #100, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320, United States
When I feel like curry for dinner, I go to Exotic Thai. Preferably the location off Kanan Road/Lindero Canyon though. This location, while much closer to home, has much lower quality standards. At my most recent visit, I was served Tom Ka Gai with a chunk of ginger as big as my thumb, and the potatoes in my Karee Gai were undercooked and could have done with being sliced in half. The curry itself was unusually thin as well. My Pad Thai was a bit soggy (still reasonable though). My Pineapple Fried Rice had only a single shrimp. When I placed my order, the employee taking it kept trying to predict what I was saying (out loud) and thus I had to correct her three times.Hopefully they correct course in the future, but they should definitely take notes from the excellent quality and service of the Kanan/Lindero location.EDIT: Ive come back twice since my initial review, and they have gotten worse. Ordered the pineapple fried rice, received it BURNT. Their prices are absurd enough on their own, but compound that with 0% QA and youve got nothing but a recipe for disaster. Sorry, yall lost my business, and referrals, for good now.
Panda Express
1744 N Moorpark Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States
Honestly, this is the worst Panda Express Ive ever been to. To the point, I refuse to eat Panda anymore when near work by this location. More bad experiences than good. Same story. My love for Panda has been giving this location chance after chance for several years. Ordered food in person tonight, and just as always, there wasnt enough food there to make a simple plate. They had me pay up front after asking what entrees I wanted, and then I sat for 15 minutes waiting for them to update their food portions to serve myself and everyone else standing in line, and those that continued to pile in. Under normal circumstances you see the food they serve you, however when youre asked to sit and wait for them to catch up with making the food, you dont see them serving your plate. After over 20 total minutes of sitting there, my name was called with my food bagged. Not only did they not get the order right, but they proceeded to give me 5 whole total pieces of orange chicken with no sauce on them (bone-dry), and beef and broccoli which wasnt what was ordered. They then in turn just piled up the chow-mein to fill the plate. I tried to callback to let them know, but no one answered the phone for the last 40 mins they were open. Being completely transparent, the workers were extremely nice and pleasant, however that doesnt make up for the rest.
Great Khans Mongolian BBQ
382 W Hillcrest Dr, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States
Service was terrible, no one at the register to take our order for a while then all the employees except for one basically looked and acted like they didnt want to be there. Once our food was done we asked the cook for napkins and he told me I need to go back to the register, so I did waited behind two people to order once he took care of them and it was my turn he turned away and started wiping off trays completely ignoring me. After a minute I called back to him excuse me trying to get his attention still being ignored the cook came all the way over hearing me to hand me some napkins. Food wasnt too bad but did have way too much of the liquid they put on while cooking ended up almost soup like once I got to the bottom of the container.
eLoong Dumplings

First: Be warned - They do not serve any alcohol. No Sake, no Beer, nothing. The main lady said, You can bring your own, but we charge cork fee. A cork fee? You dont even serve alcohol of your own. Maybe to cover the cost of washing the glasses if we used some? I was able to use the restroom without incurring a water fee to flush the toilet though.Food: Not great. Half the dishes were ok and the other half were bad. Compared to say, Ocean Fresh downtown, bland.Decor: Feng Shui was kicked out on its butt from this place. What was up with the table arrangement? They built upholstered benches on both walls. Normally tables would be set parallel to the benches where people can sit in a chair on the outside and the others sit against the wall on the bench. Not here, no they put the tables perpendicular to the benches and push them right up to the bench so you cant sit on the bench at all. It was the dumbest thing Ive seen.Service: This was the only reason I gave a third star. The food came out quick and warm. The young lady doing most of the front of house work was the best part of the visit. One of the bigger restaurants that are having staffing issues should go swoop this girl up asap and pay her well.
Ot Bistro
245 N Moorpark Rd C, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, United States
The dreadful experience at this Thousand Oaks restaurant wasnt just limited to poor service and subpar food quality, but also featured a shocking display of rudeness from the chef. When I received my rib eye with garlic noodles, I was taken aback by the overcooked and chewy meat, a far cry from the medium preparation I had requested. Upon speaking with the waiter and eventually flagging down the chef, I was met with a dismissive and insulting attitude.Rather than acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, the chef adamantly insisted that the dish was prepared as requested, despite clear evidence to the contrary. In front of other patrons, the chef proceeded to argue with me, even tearing a piece of meat to demonstrate its supposed doneness. This condescending behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful.Furthermore, when the dish was returned for a redo, the chefs lack of regard for customer satisfaction became even more apparent. The second attempt yielded the exact same overcooked dish, leading me to suspect that they simply reheated the prior meal. It was a truly appalling and off-putting experience that highlighted a severe lack of customer service and basic decency from the chef.Reflecting on this unsettling experience, it is clear that what could have merely been a culinary mishap sadly escalated due to the chefs unprofessional behavior and disregard for customer satisfaction. The disdainful approach and failure to listen or rectify their error turned a simple dinner outing into a frustrating ordeal. This was sadly underscored by an unwelcoming atmosphere created by the chefs demeaning attitude, something no customer should have to encounter. My recommendation would thus be to seek dining options elsewhere, where respect and quality are paramount, ensuring no such grievances overshadow your meal.
Yama San
370 Via Las Brisas #120, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320, United States
This restaurant in just down from a family members place, so we thought we could give it a try. The first time we went it was pretty good. Enough so that we chose to try it again a few months later. Our last experience (in early April) was a bit of a fail all-around. Once we were finally greeted by our server, we ordered several items straight out of the gate. First the garlic edamame as an appetizer, along with miso soup. The miso soup showed up in about 5 minutes, along with a few sushi dishes we ordered about 10 minutes later. It was a bit of a chore for the staff to keep our water glasses full. Funny enough, I had asked for a carafe or an extra glass from the start but our server instead asked if I wanted a straw? I think she missed the point that I was trying to make her job easier, but I digress. As soon as our food came. these fruit flies came out of nowhere. I saw them in the restroom but didnt think much of it. Now those same bugs were buzzing around, landing on our food. When I said something to one of the young ladies, she simply replied yeah they came early this year, normally they dont show up until summer. It must be the weather. Like really? Your a restaurant in California, not Costa Rica. There are easy ways to avoid bugs taking over your inside eating establishments.About 30 minutes after sitting down we were wrapping things up. All of a sudden the gentleman that works the front dropped off our garlic edamame. Now by this time we wrote it off and figured the server simply forgot to order them. A few minutes later our actual server finally stops back by to check in on us. She asked if we were good. I gestured to the edamame and said we actually ordered these as an appetizer, not a dessert. She simply replied yeah, I think the kitchen was back up. Not do you till want them? or our bad, its on us. Anything besides passing the buck in true millennial fashion.Based on this experience it will be our last. Its really unfortunate a local restaurant in such a tight nit community would be so disconnected from decent customer service. If you dont love your job, do something else. For a $50 tab most expect better than this, we definitely do. Save your time, your money, and your patience. I am giving 2 stars because the food is actually good. But whats that worth if the ambiance and service is off, and youre sharing your meal with the uninvited guests of the flying type.
