The Caf
16300 Nyemii Pass Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082, United States
Shortly after my wife and I moved to San Diego from Tokyo via Washington DC approximately 3-years ago, we were introduced to The Valley View Casino Hotel & Casino. As an aside, over the years weve had the opportunity to visit a number of casinos from the American Indian casinos in Connecticut to the Vegas-style casinos in New Jersey to the exotic casinos in Macau to the iconic casinos in Las Vegas (strip and downtown venues). One of the important aspects of visiting each and every casino is finding an on-site restaurant featuring exotic culinary delights to basic American fare. Since our move to San Diego, we discovered the Valley View Casino. Out disappointment with the regulations prohibiting real roulette play was off-set by what we discovered on Cafes menu inside the casino. At the risk of initiating a stampede, we have been consistently impressed with the absolute yummy breakfast and lunch offerings of the Cafe. Of particular note, for us, the baker and his/her team at the Cafe are to be commended for consistently offering up some absolutely delicious baked goods and desserts.

No this is not a good place. Sorry they would be paid or be part of the family to leave a five star feedback because they have no friends. They don't like yellow Asians, Connie Kuumo from accounting even said it to a yellow Asian person in front of me that she doesn't like Asians. Apparently you can only live with your parents and have a child as a single parent to keep a job here. Beats having my child funded by this place.

The Sun Vegan
11743 Edinger Avenue on the back side of the shopping center on, Lilac Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, United States
Decided to find some vegan food on an early Saturday afternoon in the OC area. After dining here I can definitely see why they are rated so highly.ITEMS ORDERED:Chefs PlateRoyal Noodle SoupTASTE:Chefs Plate is basically a veggie stir fry with beef strips along with rice. They usually have a multi grain rice but the server apologeticically let me know they were out & only had white. The stir fry is seasoned well & pairs nicely with the plain rice. Its that savory, soy saucey (maybe oyster sauce), slightly sweet flavor Asian flavor. Veggies were very fresh & cooked well. I very much appreciated the asparagus since its less common than other veggies.Royal Noodle Soup is closer to a combo of bun rieu & maybe slightly tom yum. Good savory flavor, not overly salty & very comforting broth. Theirs rice noodles & sliced beef. Comes with like, cilantro & bean sprouts on the side. I enjoyed adding in Sriracha & a squeeze of lime halfway through as a way to have a different flavor.SERVICE, LOCATION & PARKING:Service was extremely friendly, welcoming & accomodating. Staff seemed very grateful for our business which was nice. They are located in Golden Triangle Center along with several other businesses and plenty of easy access parking. I was a little confused at first where the restaurant was since its the furthest in/located in the back of the shopping center.Interior was actually much nicer than I thought it would be. Mainly because this whole shopping center appears quite run down. Moderate amount of seating & theres outside seating that looks like the backyard of a home in a nice way.Id definitely return back here & would probably be a frequent customer if they were local to me. Good flavored, fresh vegan food at fair prices & fantastic service is always a win.

MoneyKey Ramen
1717 Simi Town Center Way #4, Simi Valley, CA 93065, United States
MoneyKey Ramen is a new ramen venture that opened up in the Simi Town center. Right next to where Musashi used to be.They serve a combination of Japanese dishes, most notably ramen. As well as sushi, edamame, gyoza, and other add-ons.The ramen is rich and flavorful. They carry four varieties of ramen broth. Traditional, spicy miso, garlic truffle, as well as veggie ramen. They all have a nice flavor to them, although the noodles are what one would expect from any other standard ramen spot.Being that it is in Simi Valley, which is sorely lacking in that department, Ill give it a pass. The service was bright and friendly. Although they are still in a soft opening so they do not quite have their liquor license yet. So keep that in mind.A nice place to go to for quick lunch meals or to satisfy your ramen cravings.

First time trying this restaurant. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp, ahi tuna tartare, and artichoke dip for appetizers. Everything was delicious except for the ahi. It needed a little more flavor and our waitress, Crystal, took care of that by bringing us an Asian galic chili sauce. For the entrees we had sushi, bbq beef and pork ribs, cesar salad, and a burger. Again all the entrées were great. We also had the cheese bread which was piping hot, melty, and hit the cheese spot perfectly! We will be back! They have a $20 corkage fee so we brought our own wine for our entrées. They also have pickled pearl onions and made me a succulent Gibson Gray Goose martini.

Valley View Casino & Hotel
16300 Nyemii Pass Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082, United States
Went to Valley View Casino for the all you could eat buffet. The food was good, but the lobster which was featured as Special for the buffet was very small. The claim the lobster is Maine Lobster. It might be but all the lobster served was bigger then 3 inches long and about 3/4 wide. In other words, there was not much meat on the lobsters. The crab legs were snow crab. Both were good, but more of a snack size then a main dish item. The vegetables served was awesome and the shrimp was good as well. The buffet provided a variety of foods from Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Japanese (Sushi), American (Prime Rib and Roast Beef to Chicken and Fish).Lots of fresh vegetables for salads as well as baked, sauted and grilled veggies. Also, the buffet offered wide variety of desserts, ice cream and fresh fruit. The waiters were excellent. Cleaning up dirty empty plates, providing plenty of napkins and whipes for your hands. They continually provided drinks (cold and hot) and asked if they could get you anything else like condiments (hot butter, hot sauce). The downside to the buffet is that you have to walk thru the entire casino in order to get in line for the buffet. Walking thru the non-smoking area was ok, but the smoking side of the casino was horrible especially if you have asthma. Even though the casino seemed to have good ventilation to pull the smoke out, the smoke smell was just too much on my lungs. I recommend for those with asthma to bring their inhaler and a mask. The second worst thing about the buffet was standing in line for 1.5 hours just to eat. We got in line to the buffet around 6:30pm and we did not get inside the buffet area until 8pm.The reason for the long wait was to due to the casino giving the regular customers (Gamblers) the short line for the buffet. If you have a member card, you were put in the VIP buffet line. You generally were seated within 15-30 minutes. For someone with asthma, standing in line around a bunch a people smoking for 1.5 hours was torture! If I were to ever go back, I would definitely bring a mask and my inhaler. I would recommend this to anyone who has asthma or any breathing issues. Its too bad the buffet could not be set up on another floor or the casino couldnt build a glass wall separating the smoking area of the casino from the buffet line area. Even my friends and my husband were bothered by the smoke. The parking garage was easy to access and park. The casino has free parking attached to the casino and hotel. Leaving the casino and parking garage was easy as well.I would have given the casino a higher rating if it was not for the long wait in the buffet line and for keeping people waiting to eat in the same room as the smoking side of the casino. Even though the dining area of the buffet is somewhat separated for the smoking side of the casino, you still have to be tortured by the smoke on the smoking casino side before you eat!The Casino really needs to look at building a glass wall between the buffet line area and the smoking side of the casino. It would make the entire experience and atmosphere much better. Light music in the dining area would also inprove the dining area.Only thing that helped clear my lungs tonight while eating dinner was lots of water and a strong cup of coffee after my meal!

The Buffet
16300 Nyemii Pass Rd, Valley Center, CA 92082, United States
Time to chew at Valley View$10 Steak & Seafood lunch buffet Mon - ThursI declare Im a recovering buffet-aholic. I used to be feared at all the buffets across the greater Southern California region, incorporated & unincorporated. Buffets would post a picture of me at the register saying Dont let this guy in! Disciplinary action and possible termination may occur if not followed. Having not been to a buffet in a great while, I couldnt pass a great deal when I see one. At 50% off regular price, the $10 Valley View Steak & Seafood lunch buffet had my name all over it.Having met & befriended a Silver Players Club member on the Valley View Luxury Line bus, she claimed us as her guests, as we waited in the VIP line in preparation for the buffet madness to begin. Its nice to know people in high places ;pSoft drinks, coffee, tea are included in the price of the buffet.Valley View buffet, like most buffets, has various stations catering to particular tastes & cuisines. The salad bar had various fresh ingredients, with different types of soup & bread. The Asian station had fusion-type food items. I enjoyed the teriyaki chicken wings. The sushi selection, however, was weak & I didnt touch the stuff. The seaweed salad was refreshing, though. The carving station had prime rib, NY steak & turkey awaiting slicing by the friendly staff. It seemed the prime rib & NY steak were alternated, perhaps so everyone didnt rush the prime rib, like I would. I asked for the fattier cuts/skin, as thats where the flavors at. Remember, fats not bad (aside from trans fat). Its the sugar! I also inhaled the roasted garlic. The cloves were so good. The Italian station had pizza, pasta & other items. I only helped myself to the sautéed vegetable medley. The Mexican station had the sole shrimp offering, coconut shrimp. Also available were fresh cut avocadoes, mahi mahi, sliced jicama & mango. My favorite had to be the ensalada de nopal (cactus salad). It had a spicy kick to it.All these stations surrounded what probably is the highlight of the buffet for most people - the 100 foot dessert bar!I think everyones eyes first glimpse the chocolate fountain. I restrained myself from sticking my tongue out and lapping up chocolate like a dog does water. No chocolate dipping for me on this occasion, as I stuck to the other offerings.Cake, pudding, flan, cookies, ice cream, fresh fruit & more! Have your pick of our hearts delight! Some of the dessert highlights were the crème brulee & rice puddingThe flan was the instant, so not thick & rich as good flan should be, but the red velvet cake was delightful.Service was good. The attendant was quick clearing plates, refilling our drinks & bringing coffee & creamer when we asked for it.For $10, the Valley View Steak & Seafood lunch buffet is a tremendous deal. Although the seafood portion was rather lacking, there were still plenty of delicious options to select from. You cant find a better amount of food for the price that I know of. Just the dessert bar alone is worth the cost of admission. If calorie consumption & trivial things like diet & obesity arent a concern for you, then you must go for the Valley View lunch buffet while its priced at only $10. Take a load off for an hour or so, before heading back and losing money at the casino.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Hinata Japanese Steakhouse, Sushi & Bar
Green Valley Shopping Center, 5113 Business Center Dr, Fairfield, CA 94534, United States
Terrible customer service the moment my father and I walked In the staff was trying not to serve us. There wasn’t that many other people in the restaurant and for them to take a long time to seat us was ridiculous. When we finally got seated the lady took our drink order. Then a group of people got seated next to us and took their drink order and got their drinks out right away. The staff made my father and I feel really uncomfortable and I’m not sure what judgement they made up in their heads. It’s really upsetting because I’ve never felt this type of judgement from others fellow people in the Asian community. I’m not sure if it’s because my father is white and I don’t look like him and the staff thought something but this was a very uncomfortable experience. Will not be returning and I’ll be sure to tell others about what happened.

This place has really gone downhill. While other casinos are getting better, this one has barely held on. The service is the worst, the security is almost non existent. To give you a couple examples, I left my credit card at a bar and when I realized it I was home an hour away. I called but they told me to fill out a form online and they will get back to you once they find it. There was nothing to find, it was ran then I assume places in a holding area. 5 days later after sending the online form, still no response. I called again and they said let us look, they FOUND it and it was there. I asked where should I go to pick it up. They informed me to ask and employee and they would get it. Once we arrived we asked the first security guard as he passed, but he said he was helping someone and come back. He never came back, so we tracked him down at the seat he was sitting which was a security podium. He passed us to get to that podium. We approached him and he went to find the other security guard we found to help us as we assumed that last one was not going to help. The two met up and without saying anything to us then proceeded to go in the back again. Once merged they had the card.Another incident where lurking people take tickets from people had taken my $580+ ticket from my machine. Long story short they dont do much to find the people. We suggested they hand pictures up in the security office or remind guards of people of open cases. Our incident they say to keep calling back, but after a year of calling back every month we finally got a manager to tell us. To be honest, you can stop calling.. We dont really find those people. Unless they are easy. It happens 5 times a day in the summer. Seems like there is not enough deterrent or enough security to stop this from happening. This rarely happens at Viejas because they have real security. The cafe is not at casino prices but more like a higher end cafe, which it is not. Service was so so. The hostess barely accnowledged us, but the waitress was very nice and accommodating. The shrimps wasnt as expected but not bad, the waitress was able to switch them out with no problem.Love the robot wait staff helper, (seen in some Asian restaurants). We come here for Hells Kitchen and have never been disappointed.

Awful experience. Service was not bad but definitely not good. Food was absolutely not good.General run down of the evening:Sat down and waited about 10 mins before ourServer came to us. We immediately placed our order. It took 15 mins before bread and water came out after that. Followed by appetizers that came out several minutes later, cold. We sent them back and did not see them along with our meal items and specialty drinks until about 50 or minutes after sitting down at the table. With in 5 minutes of receiving the food we asked the Server for the check and boxes which also took another long amount of time before we finally saw him again.Food reviews:Avocado egg rolls- coldSmashed Avocado Bread- old wilted salad, with avocados that looked slightly brown “smashed” on top of hard cold focaccia bread.Hawaiian pizza- averageDrinks: strawberry mango cooler… awful tastes like a candle and again was not brought out until 30 plus minutes into our meal. Aka 5 minutes before be left.Raspberry lemonade- so tart it was almost undrinkable.Overall not good. We wished we had just eaten elsewhere. Save your money and time and skip eating here.
