Superhot Hot Pot & Korean BBQ
210 Hope St, Mountain View, CA 94041, United States
You can get hotpot and korean bbq at the same time here! Ive tried a lot of items, heres some thoughts:Korean bbq is pretty average in general. Dont expect super high quality meat, but its definitely not bad. Out of the meat Ive tried:- Galbi (short rib): run of the mill, standard quality meat, good marinade. Will hit the galbi spot but nothing special.- Spicy lamb: surprisingly really good, and I dont even like lamb. The marinade is fantastic.- Spicy beef: same marinade as the lamb, but for beef. Surprisingly bad given that the marinade is the same.- Wagyu: strong beefy taste. Not extremely tender or anything, but good for your hot pot- Pork belly: pretty meh, I wouldnt get it- Steak: good, but no marinade so it just depends on what you like. The meat is thick and standard quality. Overcooks easily.Their hotpot is decent. Ive tried the shanghai borsch and pork bone herb bases, both are really nice and have great umami. Some standout items for me are:- handmade noodles: really thick, chewy, and long piece of noodle. I cook this for up to 20 minutes due to how thick it is, and by the end its absorbed all the soup flavor but still remains chewy. Pretty good!- seaweed kelp: if you like thick seaweed you will definitely like this. Surprised by the good quality of the seaweed.- Fishball with roe: so good! Better than haidilao imo.- Fish paste: really yummy fish paste, although quality has gone slightly down recently- Fishball with meat: I personally do not like this at all. The meat inside has a super strange artificial aftertaste to it.- veggies: in general all their veggies are pretty good quality. No wilted leaves or anything like that. I recommend all of them. Now their dim sum is what I think really makes this place shine. They have such good quality dim sum, probably the best out of any hotpot type restaurant Ive ever been in. Stand out items:- dumplings: these dumplings are legit. Clearly sealed by hand, and the filling is very umami. I recommend the 3 flavors and the lamb & zucchini one.- crab cheese puff: if you like crab rangoon, this is literally the most elevated version of a crab rangoon Ive ever had. You can actually see the stringy flesh of the crab meat in pastry, and its fried to perfection.- potstickers: surprisingly good. It has more of a thick skin and the bottom is super crunchy and crispy.- pumpkin pancake: deceptive name, but this is basically a wonderful fried pumpkin mochi with red bean paste inside. The mochi is soft and gooey and the red bean paste is not oversweet. Probably one of my favorite items.- Beef pancake: Pretty good if you like ground beef + scallion-ish pancake- xiao long bao: These are more standard. Definitely not bad but Id rather leave more stomach room for other things.- Popcorn chicken: Better than at most hotpot places, but still not that good. Decent if you are really craving fried chicken.- Scallion pancake: not that good imo, pretty dense.- Fried bun with condense milk: really interesting texture on these, and really well fried. The bun itself is not too sweet. Worth a try, but not my favorite.
Lucky Chinese Bistro
1040 Grant Rd STE 100, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
This place feeds their customers old disgusting foods and eat the fresh lean food themselves. I went there since its close to work. It was around 2 pm. All the food choices didnt look good but I was hungry and thought everything around here is almost the same type of food. I ordered my food and thought $12 for a fast food lunch was fine. As I just got my food I saw the owners of the place, two ladies and two man who all are speaking Chinese to each other are having a nicest, fresh plate chicken, vegetables on top of rice. I ask the lady who helped me that I like that food too. She said no, this is only for us, you eat your own food. This was the craziest thing ever. Even one star is too many for this gross place. I give them negative 5 star to serve the customers old very greasy food and eat the fresh food themselves.

Chicken Gs

I am a fried chicken freak. I must try it wherever I go. I was in Mtn View on Friday, and I had to stop. I only like bone in chicken, and they do sell that-- although it was difficult to communicate this to the person at the counter. So, I didnt want any side dishes, I just wanted 2 pieces of fried chicken. This took a while to get this across, but I was finally able to order a 2 piece order of chicken for $9.49 (ouch). I waited about 15 minutes and the chicken came out super hot and fresh. The breading and spices are amazing. It has a unique flavor, but not in a bad way.Well, I was so excited that I wanted to share this chicken with my Wife, so the next day I returned with my Wife and I attempted to order 8 pieces of chicken without the sides and this counter person either did not understand English or was just a jerk? He just kept pointing at the menu and would not listen to me. I explained to him that I bought chicken without sides the day before. There were two other employees there that could have assisted, but they just stood there staring at me. I finally gave up and ordered the combo dinner. It was $44!! The chicken is great but most of the staff are clueless. I spoke to my daughter about it and she said that the staff were really rude to she and her girlfriends when they visited there. Due to the crazy high prices and odd staff, I will not return.
Namastee Nepal Food Truck
1288 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
Average+ option for indo chinese food.We orderedveg Manchurian fried rice - quality and quantity of food was pretty good. Spice level was perfect and we enjoyed this dish. Can't say it was authentic dish because there was something missing in taste but still it was good compared to other places I have tried.veg Manchurian - I saw others reviews about this dish and decided to asked them to make it less oily and they did make it perfect dish. Compared to other places I didn't enjoyed this dish very much but it's ok.Taste ? wise I would give 3/5 stars because Manchurian balls were little uncooked or maybe I didn't enjoyed them because they were little sticky and chewy.Quantity wise it was ok. Dish had about 6 to 7 Manchurian balls.Maybe next time I will visit to try other veg options they have.
Garden Fresh
1245 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
Authentic Buddhist Chinese food (vegan) that features faux meats made of gluten or togu skin, to deliver the look & (mouth)feel of the real thing. One of a very few fully vegan Chinese restaurants in the region. Well executed dishes, though sometimes the flavors can converge. Highly recommend Veggie Duck. Do not recommend Hong Kong Style Fried Noodles (go to a Cantonese restaurant for this!) Excellent for plant-based diets. Due to Omicron theyre back to take-out only, though they accommodated us when we requested (and helped) to move a table outside.
Veggie Garden
2464 W El Camino Real C, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
One of my favorite restaurants in Mountain View - wonderful food, great service, and clean space. Absolutely 5 stars. The selection of American-Chinese style vegan / vegetarian dishes is large and varied. There are plenty of mock meats used that non-vegetarian meat eaters also enjoy. But there are also dishes that focus on whole foods and vegetables without any meat substitutes. I love that so many different styles of eating are accommodated. Some of my favorite dishes include:- Hot and Sour Soup (They make the best I have tasted. It is a little spicier than I expected, so be aware.)- Black Pepper Chicken- Generals Chicken- Gobi Manchurian- Noodles during lunch special. (These are SO good!)Restroom note: clean, not scary. Would use again :)
Ume Tea
220 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041, United States
I think this location is the prettiest ume tea so far in the Bay Area that Ive tried. Ive checked out Fremont, Newark, and Palo Alto locations so far and I think this one has more IG worthy decor that you can take with your drink. Its located in downtown Mountain View, the street was blocked off for pedestrians so find parking a block or so away and walk here.Upon walking in youre greeted with a bunny statue and youll see pretty walk painting to your right, and a pretty Ume light sign to your left. There are no tables/chairs but they have bench type seating against the right wall.I thought the popcorn chicken here tasted better than the other location - so crispy and flavorful! I loved their fried octopus! I actually enjoyed it more than the popcorn chicken, although both were very tasty. The portions were HUGE so I shared them with my family. I got the surprise bunny milk tea with regular milk tea, 30% sweet, light ice, and boba. It wasnt too sweet and it came with a cute bunny plushy! My friend got a cute plushy as well. So if youre looking for cute plushies, check this place out! I also tried a bucket of fresh green fruit tea - wow so good! I loved the real fruits infused in the green tea. I can drink this for days! My husband almost killed the whole bucket himself across two days. Id love to come here again if Im ever in the Mountain View area!
In-N-Out Burger
1159 N Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States
I cant say I like this place. I strongly prefer absolutely any other fast burger option. The burgers at in-n-out are dry, thin, and nasty, while the buns are greasy. At best they are comparable to McDonalds, which would otherwise define the worst fast food burger option. Worse really, the fries are undercooked and mealy. Hands down they are the worst fast food fries to be bad anywhere. Unlike the burgers, they dont even compete for last place. They are simply inedible. The service is unimpressive, though I dont see what would ever be good about waiting 20-30 minutes in the drive through. Dispite all of this, my wife loves the place. It cannot be explained. Maybe there are drugs in the food that she responds to. I cant imagine but, since I love her, we sit in the interminable lines so she can get her lettuce wrapped burgers. Anyhow, of you like the place, I guess you like it. I will never understand.
