Soong Soong Restaurant
3680 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95117, United States
Unassuming Chinese restaurant, but the food tastes authentic. We ordered the braised beef, walnut shrimp, garlic eggplant, tea tree mushrooms, bitter melon chicken, and glass noodle mushroom beef soup - this was our favorite. It tasted like pepper steak and onion with pickled vegetables in soup form. I forgot to take pictures of the food.
Hometown Noodle
3617 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124, United States
The rice beef strew noodles and the stock (No MSG) takes ok, nothing special at all. I also tried the stir fry seafood rice noodles and it was salty. Wouldnt come back here anymore. There are much better chinese noodles restaurants in the area.

Simple EatsSan Jose's Little Saigon is a treasure trove of simple comfort eatsRather than advance reservations or prix-fixe menus, you find an abundance of flavors served simply and quicklyI dropped by Leung Noodle to try of the newer Cambodian style Hu Tieu noodle specialistsAt 10:30 AM, the place was packed and bustling…always a good signThe menu focuses on only one item - Hu Tieu - and simply offers multiple customization optionsI ordered the Dac Biet (special) that is served with a large pork bone. I chose the dry style with soup on the side, chose both egg and rice noodle, and ordered a simple beef ball soup for extra brothFlavors are great, especially the signature sauces and the condiment game is strong with delicious pickled garlic and chili oilI found Leung Noodle cleaner than Nam Vang, less artificial tasting than Dalat, and with a more authentic Hu Tieu version than China Chen noodle options (I ❤️ China Chen)Leung Noodle (Silver Creek, San Jose) has no geolocation or instagram handle? #2 Dac Biet (Saigon Special), Kho (Dry style with special sauce), Hu Tieu Mi (Rice and Egg noodles) $15.50 ~ Saigon shrimp and pork, (#1 toppings of slice pork, ground pork, liver, heart, shrimp, squid, fried garlic, green onions, cilantro / Beef Ball Soup $6?Leung Noodle (San Jose, CA)Indoor dining only. Special Noodle
1530 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129, United States
Recently discovered a new noodle restaurant in Newark. Perfect for a warm bowl of hot noodles on a cold day! The name of the place is Special Noodle?.This place offers a variety of noodles, dumplings, and stir-fried dishes. They even have pot options, catering to both Northern and Southern Chinese cuisine enthusiasts.?Recommended Dishes:☑️ Sichuan Stone Pot Snowflake Beef Noodles: A must-try! Generous portions [thumbs up]. Plus, you get to enjoy a live cooking performance. The moment the hot soup is poured in, its incredibly satisfying! Highly recommended!☑️ Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings): Each one is a delight, bursting with flavorful broth.☑️ Sricky Rice Pork Ribs: I love sticky rice, and this dish is a winner. Skip ordering plain rice as the sticky rice absorbs all the meaty goodness, and the meat is tender!☑️ Pressure Cooked Pig Trotters: They also have pressure-cooked chicken feet, both are their signature dishes. Rich in collagen!☑️ Stir-Fried Beef: Decent portion and tasty!☑️ Sweet and Sour Pork: Im particularly fond of sweet and sour dishes, and their version is excellent! The portion size is generous too.☑️ Celery and Bean Curd Skin Salad: A light and refreshing choice after indulging in carbs and meat.☑️ Milk-Flavored Steamed Buns: Very filling! Perfect for those who love steamed buns.
Hankow Cuisine
1071 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129, United States
We came here for dinner, a long time since our last visit before COVID. The restaurant is now newly renovated, with a clean bathroom and cleaned up dining area. We tried a few old time favorites: hot dry noodles, beef noodles, a few skewers and the eggs and rice pancake. Only the hot dry noodles is still decent. Beef noodles is super salty and not flavorful, skewers were average. The bamboo in the rice pancake had a smelly taste. The waitress was not friendly at all, gave us mean look when we asked for one additional cup and chopsticks. I felt bizarre that a restaurant provides only one time use plastic cups for water, paper plates, and flimsy plastic forks. Maybe it makes you feel like you are having some authentic street food ? I'm quite disappointed in their beef noodle soup, not only it's very salty and not tasty, it also made my mouth very dry afterwards. I would much rather to pay $20 or more for a properly prepared plate. I can understand it's hard to make a business survive charging only $15 per plate, in a high cost area like Cupertino…
Mings Garden

When you decide days ahead of time where youre going to have dinner, thats usually an indicator that the restaurant is pretty good.We started eating here after the change in ownership and were quite surprised at the quality and freshness of the dishes. The service could have used a more friendly touch at the time, but it didnt completely put us off. Fast forward a few years and we no longer live in SJ, but will happily detour from our commute for dinner now and again. The service is so much nicer. Restaurant is always clean, and the food is just top notch, save maybe the sweet and sour pork. American Chinese *requires* a good sweet and sour pork. Mings is acceptable although somewhat plain. Overall, Ive never been disappointed with any of the dishes served here. Of course, no MSG and they dont go crazy with the salt to compensate like a lot of places do. You can taste everything thats in a particular dish. Also, leftovers reheat quite nicely...another indication of freshness. Because if youve ever reheated day-old Chinese, most of the time youll wish you hadnt. Some of my favs would be the Beef Curry and Onion, Pork Fried Rice, Pork Chow Mein, General Tsos Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and the Pork Egg Foo Young. Only thing I dont recall seeing on their menu is cha siu bao. Most places offer them, although likely the frozen variety.
New Tung Kee Noodle House
264 E Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA 95113, United States
Solid place for a bowl of Chaozhou/Teo-chew(?) style noodle soup, a ethnic type from somewhere around the Chinese-Vietnamese border. Ive been coming here since I was a kid, and my dads been a regular here since his SJSU days back in 1989, and the only thing thats changed has been the prices. Which are still pretty cheap, mind you. Two bowls of noodle soup and a plate of radish cake runs about $25 with tax and tip. Fast service, no-nonsense staff, great food. Plus its not full of students, like the more popular San Carlos restaurants.

Decided to try this place based on Yelp and Google reviews and am very very happy with how delicious and fresh the food is and would highly recommend it. I am generally skeptical of any Asian restaurants that serve more than one type of Asian cuisine, but this place has really surprised me. We ordered two Thai dishes - pad kee mao chicken and spicy basil fish. Both dishes were delicious!!! The chicken in the pad kee mao was so moist, the noodles were perfectly cooked - not over cooked at all like many places tend to do with rice noodles. Both were seasoned perfectly and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. My wife and I will absolutely be trying more of their dishes in the future. The owner is extremely friendly and sweet as well - as many have stated. Turns out she ran a successful Thai restaurant for over 12 years. It definitely shows!!!!A+, delicious!
Suggi Oota Take-Out
949 Ruff Dr, San Jose, CA 95110, United States
I came across suggi oota online and wanted to use their catering for our house warming ceremony. I was looking for an authentic and good Karnataka food in Bay Area which is very hard to find. I did read most of the reviews before speaking to Ranjini and so glad we chose suggi oota☺️ I wish I could give more than 5 stars. All the reviews speak volumes about how good Suggi oota food is. The whole experience of ordering for catering was so smooth. When you speak to Ranjini you can feel the passion she has towards food. I called her a week before my event to order Karnataka food for about 45 people. She was so cooperative in deciding the menu and gave such amazing options. So impressed with the quality of the food. We had our friends parents visiting from Bangalore and they felt the food was exactly like what one would find in Karnataka. It's really hard to pick one item as the best☺️☺️ everyone loved her appetizers Mirchi Bhajji and ambode, ghee rice was just too good with kurma. The methi chapathi was so good all my friends asked for extra servings to take home. What surprised me most was her sambhar. Generally with such catering orders people just give an ordinary sambhar, but Ranjini made the Sambhar with drumstick and all other veggies and you can feel as if it was made by someone'a mom. For desserts we ordered godhi payasa and dry gulab jamun. I am not a big fan of dry gulab jamun here in Bay Area but the one made by Ranjini was so good !! We hardly had anything left over. The godhi pyasa is just like what you would eat in Karnataka temples. What impressed me was the quality of the ingredients she used and went an extra mile to make the appetizers just before our order pickup so that people can enjoy it while it's hot.I am so glad Ranjini decided to open suggi oota so that other people can enjoy her cooking as well. Thank you Ranjini for making our house warming event so special with food that all our friends and family enjoyed. ?? Look no further for amazing Karnataka food for any events you are planning. You will be impressed so much by the care and passion Ranjini takes in her cooking.
Cali Pizza
5665 Snell Ave, San Jose, CA 95123, United States
I stumbled upon Cali Pizza during one of my late-night food cravings, and boy, was I in for a wild ride. First off, lets talk about the ambiance—or lack thereof. The place felt like it was stuck in some 90s time warp with its outdated decor and dim lighting. Its as if theyre trying to set the mood for disappointment from the moment you walk in.Now, onto the menu. They boast about their unique pizza creations, but the reality is far from that. The choices were limited, and the toppings were nothing to write home about. Ive had more excitement reading an instruction manual for assembling IKEA furniture.I mustered the courage to order a couple of pizzas, hoping they might redeem themselves in the taste department. But oh, how wrong I was. The crust was so bland and lacked any sort of texture—it might as well have been a stale piece of cardboard. And dont even get me started on the sauce. It tasted like someone had dumped a can of tomato puree without bothering to add any seasoning. The toppings, if you can even call them that, were sparse and looked like they were slapped on by a blindfolded toddler. If I wanted a pizza that resembled a barren wasteland, Id have gone to the Sahara Desert for my meal.To make matters worse, the service was laughable. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and could barely be bothered to take our orders. And when they did, they messed it up with a level of precision that could only be achieved through advanced incompetence. But wait, the fun doesnt end there. The prices were as inflated as my disappointment. I wouldnt mind paying a premium for excellent food and service, but what I received was an astronomical bill for an experience that could only be described as meh. Now, I must admit, there is one tiny silver lining—just a speck. They had a decent selection of drinks, but even that couldnt salvage the disaster that was our dining experience. In conclusion, I wouldnt wish a trip to Cali Pizza on my worst enemy. The only thing unique about this place is its ability to consistently underwhelm and disappoint. If you enjoy wasting your time and money on tasteless cardboard, by all means, give it a shot. But for anyone with functioning taste buds and a hint of self-preservation, steer clear of this culinary abyss. Youll thank me later. Now, if youll excuse me, I need to find some real pizza to wash away the taste of regret from my mouth.
