Trieu Chau Restaurant
4401 W 1st St #4016, Santa Ana, CA 92703, United States
We came to this place with zero expectation. Firstly, the service impressed me. You know how it is coming to a busy Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. But the receptionist was really nice trying his best to calm the crowd and seat everything (he even prioritized elders, kids and pregnancy women). Then, the food. Broth is bold and flavorful, wonton is surprisingly good - thin n silky skin, well marinated fillings. And fhe portion is HUGE compare to the price. No wonder why everyone has to wait at least 40 mins to get seated on lunch time on the weekends.

Perhaps been a Chinese restaurant in the heart of the Santa Ana cant complain but the fact they staffs are Hispanic and the dont speak English it makes it difficult to understand and communicate but the food is alright nothing fancy about just an average Chinese Fast Food .

The food is good but the customer service is AWEFUL!!!We are Chinese visiting from Canada. The moment we entered the store, we felt discrimination towards Chinese (yes - no typo here, discrimination from Chinese waitress towards Chinese customers). We have 4 adults and 4 kids, and asked whether it is possible to be seated together. With an wired superiority, the waitress told us that it is Los Angeles here, unlike in China, US restaurants don't usually provide a table to accommodate that many people. ???Excuse me?? Can anybody in US let me know is that true in the US?? Since it is very common for a Canadian restaurant to offer a big table like that. If that is the case, I feel sorry for our American friends. Even if that is true, I am sorry but where is your superiority coming from? From the assumption that we were thought to be visiting LA from China and you are living in LA?And at the end of our dinner, after I paid for the dinner, busy finding the changes for tips, and at the same time, trying to clean my kid's stuffs, the same lady who I mentioned above, came again and asked whether that is the tip. I answered yes since I was thinking she could see that I am still searching my purse to find some additional money to add to those already on the table, she said to us rudely that here is Los Angeles and we need at least 15% off tips. ??? Excuse me???? You could not see I am still searching and is it a culture here in the US to ask directly for your customers to give you the ideal amount of tips in a rude way? If that is the case, I am sorry for our American friends.I am 100% sure that on this process, we are nice and friendly in all of our behaviors and words, since we we've been expecting some really good experience in a Chinese restaurant in LA heading all the way down from the north. But all we felt is discrimination from that lady. There are three waiters and waitress in total that night. The gentleman and the other girl (probably from Taiwan?) are ok. But the other lady who served us from the beginning, who I believe coming from mainland china, is AWEFUL.We are typing out all this in English just because we thought it might be more possible to get the attention of the manager or boss in this way. We are not from local LA and probably our bad comments won't affect their business too much. But we have friends in LA and other places who will visit LA for sure for vacation, we will tell them our unpleasant experience for sure.To that lady who share the same nationality as Chinese with us, we have one comment to her: shame on you and good luck for your life in the US.We have been visiting US cities for a couple times and have had good experiences all the time from people originated from different places except this time. Ironically, this only bad experience is from a Chinese restaurants.

Chinese restaurants run by Vietnamese are a little expensive and the taste is okay.

Panda Express

Update: 9 months laterI returned here after a long hiatus at the request of my sons. The food remains very good. However, the service was poor, and the person assisting me was rude and hostile, and got the orders wrong (blending my sons two orders into a single order), then acted resentful and irritated that my 11 year old did not want to share a plate with his younger brother. When I commented to the cashier about the experience, rather than apologizing simply shrugged her shoulders, and then said I could talk to the manager if wanted to.The manager, while very pleasant. was not the actual manager, and said I should come back to talk to the actual manager when she returned the next day. He acknowledged that he had had multiple complaints about the same employee, but acted like there was nothing he could really do about it. He also said I could call in, or provide feedback on the website, and referred me to the receipt. The receipt did not have any phone number other than the stores number. The online survey (The only way to provide feedback) was a three question survey: (1) How was your visit; (2) How likely are you to return based upon your visit; (3) How likely are you to recommend to someone else? No interest in actual feedback.Really poor, disinterested customer service seems to be a company policy at Panda Express. The Kung Pao Chicken was actually very good, but not so much as to have to deal with the poor customer service.Original ReviewI have been here twice, and the food has been very good both times, each time for carry out. What has been completely unacceptable is the portion size. The rice and/or chow mein is served in abundance, but accompanied by ridiculously small portions of the actual entree. Very small in comparison to other Panda Express outlets. It may be a training issue, but will unfortunately prevent me from coming back.

Golden Gate Chinese Fast Food
431 E 1st St ste 3B, Santa Ana, CA 92701, United States
I have been to a number of Chinese restaurants (fast food, casual, semi casual, upscale) and this is one of the worst places ever with horrible services. I only decided to try it because I was passing through and craving Chinese food. It was the 1st one that caught my eye and I wasn’t really familiar with that area. As soon as I walked in, the spaces were cramped and the interior was filthy. They did not even greet or welcome me. My instincts told me to leave instantly and I should have listened to my intuition. There was an older man changing out the trash bags who was also in my way. The path leading to the register was so narrow and here this fool is blocking my path. I said, “Excuse Me,” and was able to squeeze through when he moved out a little bit unintentionally. He did not even bother to move out of the way out of courtesy so that I could pass through. When it was my turn to order, the stupid man tried to pass me carrying the huge bag of trash nearly hitting me without saying excuse me, sorry, or anything. What is wrong with them??? No common courtesy and no brains either. I had to sit down on the bench just so he could pass through down the narrow path without hitting me. He headed towards the back of the kitchen. He didn’t even wash/sanitize his hands afterwards. It is unsanitary, rude, and brainless of him to do that while customers are trying to order. He could have briefly waited to hold off on that a while considering the narrow spaces. It’s also disgusting because he didn’t clean his hands after handling trash and he could be cooking foods at that point. Then, the woman at the counter rudely took my order, but didn’t listen carefully so she almost gave me the wrong items but I caught it in time. She also tried to rip me off. She also charged me an extra fee just for using my card. Who does that??? I confronted her about my order and the extra fee and told her that nobody else charges extra fees for simply using our cards. She said that all cards require an extra fee if the order is under $10. I said that is so ridiculous. I have seen that mostly Vietnamese and Koreans do that. I heard her speaking Vietnamese (I am familiar with many foreign languages). No other places I frequently go to charges extra fees for using cards and that includes Panda Express, PickUp Stix, or PF Chang’s. This place deserves to be shut down. With bad sanitation and hygienes, I don’t trust the quality and cleanliness of my food. I immediately threw it away after I got it. Did not have the appetite for it anymore. Went to Osaka Japan instead. I love their teriyaki chicken. It’s one of the best and services are excellent too! There are better Chinese fast food places with much better services, food, and integrity. Sadly, there are no good Chinese Fast food places in my area in south OC, so I have to drive to Garden Grove, Costa Mesa, Tustin, or Santa Ana to get some. Here are some in that area: Hong Kong Express in Costa Mesa, China Town Express (17th & Cabrillo), Spicy Noodle House (Bristol and Alton), China Wok (Euclid & Chapman), Chinese Food Express (Warner & Fairview), Dragon Bowl (McFadden & Harbor). For a more decent dining experience, try Capital Seafood in Irvine, Din Tai Fung in Costa Mesa, & AnQui Bistro in Costa Mesa. Pricier but good quality authentic Chinese food.HAPPY EATING! ?

Bad service,Discrimination against Chinese, chaotic management, the manager and cashier are terrible. The food portions are small and the money is skimped on. This is America, but it is managed by people from poor countries. They distribute food and treat customers in their own way. If you are an immigrant from other countries, you will encounter serious racial discrimination. Even if you speak English and ask for chopsticks, you will not get any tableware. Before taking the food, you must check carefully whether they have skimped on the service after you paid. Even the change will be quietly deducted. They are managing and serving American restaurants with the model of the poor. It is a shame for America. This will no longer be America. Because of these poor people, this will no longer be the American restaurant with good quality, low price and large portions.

Mrs Bean Jianbing is one of my favorite restaurants. The menu includes items that are not at most casual Chinese restaurants, and everything I tried tastes upscale. The owner is a wonderful person and his staff are really nice. I highly recommend.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in town and one of the best “fast food” restaurants in town as well. The service is amazing and the food is always consistently good. They also give very generous portions for a decent price. Couldn’t recommend eating here more.
