China Palace Restaurant
13444 Newport Ave # C, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
China Palace is the very best Chinese Restaurant in Orange County. Ive been going there to eat and take-out food since the late 1970s. All through these decades, their quality of food served has been consistently excellent in taste, texture, and appealing to the eyes. In addition, they have the largest variety of items to choose from on their Menu that cover the flavors and styles of different regions in China such as: Mongolian, Mandarin; etc.Over the years, my husband and I have brought visiting friends that have traveled to many places in the world to China Palace, and each time they loved the food as well as the service plus the atmosphere. Never has anyone of our guests complained about this restaurant. And, even we went there on Christmas Eve a few times which are now wonderful, cherished memories.Unfortunately, Ive grown old and disabled to the point that I had to move last year, 2019, into a senior living facility which is far away in North Orange County. Also, this place where I live has been on lockdown ever since mid-March, and who knows when its going to end in O.C. this I cant travel to Tustin plus Im located in far for them to deliver to. What a real heartache.

Believe it or not its harder to find awesome Chinese food than you think in Irvine/Tustin area. This spot is everything you want a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant to be, great online ordering, fresh (was still being cooked when I arrived), great portions well packaged, and delicious! Would probably recommend takeout vs dine in as seating is limited. Will absolutely come again- the garlic noodles with chicken will haunt my dreams!
Sichuan Impression
13816 Red Hill Ave, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
I wish there were more Sichuan restaurants like this in town. It has authentic flavors - Im addicted to their rattan pepper chicken, toothpick lamb, spicy boiled beef, and many other dishes. I do wish they have Yuxiang Rousi, and a few other traditional Sichuan dishes as well. There are areas they can improve: 1. Cleanliness. The food material is usually fresh, but the quality can dip on a Monday to Wednesday - Id give it a 8/10. The restaurants cleanliness rates about 6/10, with a horrific restroom and sticky chairs that detract from the atmosphere. 2. Service. Most the time, you must to pay and order from a QR code, the service is limited, possibly due to low tip expectations. Given that the average cost per person is between $30 and $50, they really need to improve their service. Id rate the service 7/10. However, they do excel in presenting traditional street food and farm-style serving plates and bowls, earning a 9/10 for the presentation. Plus the unparalleled authentic Chinese flavors in Orange County leaves little competition, as most of the other local Chinese restaurants would only score lower in cleanliness, service and flavor. Meizhou Dongpo has better atmosphere and service, however, if you order Kung Pao chicken from them once, youd find it worse than Panda Express.
MaLuBianBian HotPot Tustin
1056 Walnut Ave, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
It means a lot to me that the staff always speaks English to my girlfriend and I, even though she’s Chinese and I’m American. Many restaurants would choose to just speak directly to her and act as if I’m not there.MaLuBianBian always makes me feel included and their skewer hotpot also tastes amazing!

I have been in Restaurant business for more then 16 years. I know a thing or two about good food & good service. Before covid there was a different chines restaurant at the same location which was not good at all. I was driving by & I saw grand opening which was strange during Covid. I said I will give it a try. I always try Kung pao chick to see if the restaurant is good or not. The wife and husband were running around to fulfill a big take out order. I order Kungpaw chicken when it came it did not look like traditional Kung pao chicken and they forgot the peanut but it was really good. It had zucchini which I am not used. It tasted good. The next day I took my brother in law with me. He said he does not like orange chicken so I told him lets try 3 launch special. I order orange chicken, Kung pao & beef Broccoli. It was one of the best orange chicken I had in a long time. He fell in love with Orange chicken. Every time we go there he orders Orange chicken now.The hot & sour soup is really good. Very friendly service and great food. If you visit this place You will not be disappointed.Food 5+Service 5++

Very good food from the regular Chinese food norm. Just be aware of your choices, to avoid the greasy choices. But the food is good. Restaurant is clean. Employees are very nice. And the soda machine is there for you to access all the refills you desire.
Yangs Braised Chicken Rice
13824 Red Hill Ave, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
This place has pretty good chicken and rice. The miss here is the rice quality. To some people rice is rice and they figure most Americans don't know the difference between good rice and bad rice so they cut cost on quality of rice. Rice here is below average. The chicken and mushrooms are pretty good but recently the chicken has been very greasy and oily. Seems like they cut back on getting rid of extra fat from chicken. Just allow it to sit for a few hours and then look at it and you will know. One other thing here is the bags issue. Not sure who on earth ordered these kinds of yellow bags. The food packages don't sit right in them and by the time you are home they would have fallen over. One of the employees today actually put the chicken sideways in the bag. Who on earth would put chicken with liquid in it sideways in a loose bag..? For next bag order I highly recommend properly sized bags for these to go packages so food does not fall over. I would also recommend a better quality of rice and some how eliminate excess fat and grease from chicken sauce. I come often here but think management can do better.
Mama Lus Dumpling House
17662 17th St, Tustin, CA 92780, United States
Came on a Monday night and it was surprisingly crowded but we were seated right away. Mama Lus is known for their classic Chinese cuisine such as dumplings and noodles. We got the Juicy Pork & Crab Dumplings, Honey Garlic Pork Chops, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, and House Special Chow Mein. My personal favorite is the pork chops because theyre sweet and savory from the honey and garlic sauce but also crispy. The dumplings were just ok. The crab flavor was very subtle, a little too subtle compared to DTF. The eggplant was very garlicky and saucy and not too mushy. The chow mein was also good but I would add more chili oil for more flavor. It came with fish, squid, chicken, and shrimp. Ive been to the Rowland Heights and Monterey Park location before but this Tustin location was a lot more cleaner and newer. It is located inside a market so theres a giant window looking inside the store which was a little weird IMO. It also seemed more Americanized and less like a typical Chinese restaurant. Shout out to our super accommodating and super attentive server Juan!

Horrible service. I rarely give negative reviews, but this experience was exceptionally bad. We had reservations at 6:30 PM last night. After being seated, we ordered our food. We received our first dish after a 30-minute wait, but it came without rice. We kept asking for steamed rice, and since we were hungry, we finished the chicken by itself.Forty minutes into our first entrée, we ask where the same rice was. Another waiter informed us they were out of steamed rice and needed to make more. He asked if we wanted to upgrade to fried rice, which could be served faster, but we declined. Meanwhile, people who were seated after us were getting their food. Our entrées came out one at a time, about 15 to 20 minutes apart, instead of together.Once we started to get upset, the rest of our entrees arrived. By then, we were frustrated with the long wait. We asked to speak with the manager, Ken, to understand why we were receiving one dish at a time without rice and why the wait was so long.We checked the receipt and noticed they put in our order at 7:30 PM, an hour after our reservation. By this time, we were extremely upset. The manager explained there was a mix-up with our ticket but no apologies. Surprisingly, after we complained, the remaining food started coming out promptly.Ive never experienced service like this, especially at a Chinese restaurant, where food typically comes out quickly. The manager eventually apologized and gave us a discount because we didnt leave until almost 9 PM. Spending three hours at a Chinese restaurant is unheard of. The food was okay, but the service was awful. We will never return.
