Ten Japan Japanese Restaurant
1340 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Coming from someone who’s been to Japan a few times, ten Japan definitely recreates the feeling of what a real authentic Japanese restaurant is. Most restaurants in Japan are small hole in the wall spots like this which makes the ambiance so much better. The sushi and ramen is really good! I always look foward to eating at this place because it makes me feel like I’m back in Japan. Definitely a hidden gem here in gilroy for Japanese food

Sushi Omakase
6905 Camino Arroyo #50, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
6 of us ordered a variety of sushi and sashimi. I am vegetarian and had fried tofu in a sauce and the veggie roll. The tofu was pretty tasteless. The sauce didnt offer much flavor. The sushi fell apart to the touch though presented beautifully. My sweetheart had sashimi which he said was good. Everyone enjoyed the flavored edamame. The service was good but we wont choose this restaurant again. There are too many wonderful Japanese restaurants to enjoy that prepare their food beautifully and with awesome flavor.

Pearl Sushi Lovers
340 E 10th St ste a, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
This place was awesome! I was passing south on my way back to Colorado and was really craving some sushi before leaving the coast. This was some of the best and freshest sushi Ive had. Add a couple sweet old women running the place, a great decor from the recent remodel, and reasonable prices and its a place to check out.Note, their maintenance (or knowledge of how to) of this listing is low to non - existent. If I would have checked google before coming here I wouldnt have because it said they were closed. They obviously were not.So, swing by and enjoy some wonderful sushi and a delightful environment. You wont be disappointed.

O-Town BBQ & Grill

Word got around that there was a new restaurant at the Gilroy Golf Course so we ran over to check them out a couple times. So far, weve enjoyed everything weve tried there, even some thing off of the main menu that we were lucky enough to be there for.Orlando is the new owner and he is a great guy and fun to chat with. Weve had a great time getting to know him while there trying more and more of his food.So far, weve had the following (pics attached):1. Chicken potstickers - He doesnt make these in house, BUT he does make the sweet & spicy dipping sauce that he serves with them and that sauce is excellent! The potstickers are nice and just the right crispiness that we enjoy (like Japanese gyoza)2. Bacon Cheeseburger - Moist home made patties cooked to the doneness I like my burgers to be cooked to and the applewood bacon is nice and thick with an tasty flavor. The cheese is put o while the burger patty is finishing cooking so you get some bits of crispy cheese flavoring, which is something I thoroughly enjoy.3. Westernburger - Like the bacon cheeseburger above, it was made perfectly to my husbands liking and comes with the same bacon and cheese as well as onion rings that are fresh and crispy on the outside and homemade BBQ sauce. Definitely a burger to try if you like onion rings!4. Pizza (non menu item) - A personal sized pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The crust is a nice doughy on the inside crust with a crisp bottom and edge crust. We had leftovers and brought it home to our roommate and he loved it and requested us to buy it again when we went back for our second visit. I am not a fan of doughy on the inside crust, but I am a fan of THIS doughy on the inside crust! If he has it available when you go there, I recommend trying it! You will not be disappointed.5. Fries - The fries are good and seasoned extremely well with a nice dusting layer of seasonings. I am personally a fan of fries that have the little bits of light breading, but I enjoyed these fries still.6. Texas Sausage and Eggs - Texas sausage is kind of like polska kielbasa texture with a different flavor profile. I liked the flavoring but not sure I would be able to eat an entire sausage as it was big! The eggs were made as ordered to perfection and the house potatoes were a perfect compliment to the rest of the plate.7. Meat Lovers Burrito - This one has bacon sausage and ham in it and of course eggs, cheese, caramelized onions and potatoes! The caramelized onions gave the burrito that extra kick of flavor you dont usually get in a breakfast burrito.8. Chorizo burrito - Not the type of chorizo you are thinking of, it is a New York style which is meaty like Italian sausage texture, but with the yummy chorizo taste. This one has all of the same ingredients as the Meat Lovers Burrito above, except for the two other meats. Again the caramelized onions just added that extra flavor that paired well with the sausage.9. Salsas - There are two salsa that Orlando offers and both are are tasty in their own way and one is the hotter of the two. We enjoyed both salsas and will eat them both every time, but we really enjoyed the milder salsa flavor. We are the spicier the better kind of people, but the flavor of that milder salsa was just overall a better taste. All in all, this is a place you have to come try for yourselves and we recommend eating the food there for your first tome for the best experience and to get to know Orlando! They do take out and ordering ahead as well as BBQ Catering, which is listed on their lunch meu in the attached pictures. The prices might look a little high, but the quality ingredients Orlando uses are 100% noticeable and worth every penny we have spent there.

Saigon -2- Siam Bistro
1280 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
So I am very grateful that the owner promptly reached out encouraging us to return and try again. We did receive a seat and we were then BLOWN Away by the food!!! I am back for my now craved item of Panang Curry.. its a party of flavor from heaven!! Seriously everything we tried was fabulous! The Tom Kha soup was the best Ive ever had and the Crab Rangoon...I am speechless!! Unlike any Rangoon I have ever had and absolutely beyond words..just plain awesomeness!! I can only hope a sweet gal named Cynthia is working next time, because I will be sure to ask for her. Unfortunately when we did return for a table the same young man was our server. I can only hope he finds better suited work for himself elsewhere fast! He was absolutely terrible! Forgot our drinks, was so scattered and I am questioning his state of mind being under the influence of something. Grateful the owner jumped in anf grabbed our drinks after I had to go find someone to ask for them. That is the only reason the review was not changed to a 5+ star. The food is a 1000+ stars!! Its worth the trouble to get!Previous Post Retracted..owner quickly responsed and a new experience was given..I may have liked the food, but we were turned away by a young man (edited in response to owner question) at 8:11pm on a Thurs night when maps says its open till 9pm. We were prepared to order quickly as we had already reviewed the menu online. So instead we went to the Japanese restaurant just a few businesses over and had a fabulous meal! Perhaps we will try again, but probably not. Disappointing (changed original rating because of prompt owner response)

Ninja Sushi Restaurant
715 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Service was great! Udon was good. However, the bento dinner set I had was one of the worst ones Ive had in a while, and Im not even that picky! The rice wasnt Japanese type rice. The chicken teriyaki was dry and chewy. California roll was also made of non-Japanese type grain rice. Im assuming the sushi also wasnt made with Japanese rice... You can really tell a lot about a Japanese restaurant based on the rice they use! Maybe they just ran out of the better rice when I went there given the high rating??

Nob Hill Foods
777 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
No, not one star, ZERO. Absolutely Zero in Customer Service.Several months ago I went to Gilroy Nob Hill to do some dry cleaning on an expensive Burberry coat. I didnt know they subcontract out, but they do, and unfortunately the coat was shrunken and damaged quite visibly.Nob Hill remained extremely unhelpful in trying to resolve this issue. The first thing that left a sour taste in my mouth is that the General Manager at this Nob Hill, Vito, changed the story a few times about who damaged the coat (maybe he didnt want to admit they subcontract). Also, you would think that to make the customer happy, they would pay for the damages since they did not make it obvious that they subcontract out their services. You would also think that if they couldnt pay, theyd at least file a claim on our behalf with their insurance company. But this did not happen, they made me have to deal with the insurance agency directly (why should we do it if we did not make the mistake, nor was it us who did the subcontracting?). But unfortunately it seems no one at Nob Hill or their insurance company is competent to help -- in the end I had to reach out to the subcontracter directly. To add insult to injury, the subcontractor was working without his own insurance, and was a sleazy company (different story). Subcontractor also would not offer to pay for the damages. So we have three different parties (Nob Hill, Covel, Nob Hills Insurance company, Subcontractor called Fashion Express) all not claiming responsibility. Also, isnt it something that Nob Hill subcontracts out to a cleaner with no insurance? After months of this, we gave up as no one wanted to be responsible for the damages, and it wasnt worth pursuing this in small claims court. To make matters worse, one day Nob Hill decided to end their dry cleaning services but NOT INFORM ME about this. They removed all their garments and now my coat is in limbo somewhere. If they simply called me and said please pick up your damaged coat I would at least be able to get it back and give it as a gift to someone else. No, the coat was given back to either the adjusters or the 3rd party subcontractor -- GM Vito nor any other worker at the store knows exactly. Thats a recurring thing at Gilroy Nob Hill, no one knows anything at the store, and everyone seems to be a manager of some sort.. When asked for a reason why I was not contacted, General Manager Vito said I dont know. That is his answer every time, or its not Nob Hills responsibility anymore.Well, if Vito doesnt know the answer, then hes an incompetent General Manager, and hes not doing his job, and probably should be demoted or fired.Very little attempt was made to find out why there was such a mess-up as to why I wasnt contacted. Again, Vito shifted the responsibility to the insurance department/adjusters. I have to waste my time to contact the adjusters myself, because of course. This whole episode was just a horror show and I can NOT recommend this piece of junk grocery store to anyone. They claim a smiley face and friendly service, but when push comes to shove, they did not deliver.HORRIBLE SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. ZERO STARS..

Ginger Cafe
8657 San Ysidro Ave, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
This was one of my favorite restaurants in Gilroy until recently. I decided to take my family to come join me for a meal. Looking over the menu and deciding on what we should eat. Normally I just order the Orange chicken and veggie chow mein and the soup dumplings. Since there was 4 of us, I decided to add on one more thing that I've never tried to my usual order, which was the Beef and broccoli. I thought it was a safe choice..because how could you go wrong with beef and broccoli. Everything was going well, we received the soup dumplings first, then the chicken and chow mein..and lastly the beef and broccoli. I was the only person who served myself the beef and broccoli. I only served myself from the right side of the plate, then I noticed a black hair wrapped around a piece of broccoli on the left side of the serving plate and told everyone not to eat it do to the hair in the food. Once the server returned to our table we of course informed him that there was a hair in the food. The server looked a little confused and took the food back to the kitchen. One the server came back he was told to tell us the PAYING CUSTOMER That it wasn't possible for long hair to be in the food do to all the cooks having short hair. I understand that the server is just doing as he told, but I felt that it was very disrespectful and inappropriate to give us a reason for why the hair wasn't their problem. I would understand if we were throwing a fit and blowing it out of proportion..or just trying to get a free meal, then yes. But just offering us a new plate of food was the best they can do after not taking responsibility for the mysterious hair..I wasn't having it. I told the server to remove it from my order and we would take the check. Needless to say, I'm not going to be returning EVER AGAIN!!
