Friends House Korean
4647 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
We came to Friends House Korean on a Sunday night only because Handoo was packed. I wished we wouldve waited because I would not recommend this place at all unless you want bad customer service, mediocre, and overly salty food. The restaurant looked busy so I had good expectations, but we waited 20 minutes for someone to seat us, even though we were standing right in front of the workers by the register. They didnt acknowledge us or said hello either after we greeted them. A bigger party came in and they got seated first than us, which was a red flag already. After we got seated, we ordered seafood soondubu, fried mandu, egg drop soup, soju and dolsot bibimbap and it was good at first, until a couple of bites in and the salt just overwhelmed my taste buds. Some of the banchans were good though, but the kimchi tasted store bought. Our egg drop soup came really late, we were practically done eating so we asked one of the girls to bring us to go boxes and more water. She didnt even come back at all. Thankfully, one of the male workers attended us and got us water for the overly salted food. We didnt want the to go boxes anymore and we didnt finish our food at all which is something I would never do, but it was just that bad. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant for Korean food.

Tofu House SDSU (Korean BBQ & Wings)
6061 El Cajon Blvd suite 4, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
My partner is Korean and has declared this Korean-adjacent or Korean-inspired. It has all the elements of Korean food within being entirely auntentic. It’s GOOD. He loved the soups. I liked it cuz it was spicy. I am not a fan of tofu and thought I was getting a bulgogi as a stir fry and not a soup. My partner ordered wrong. The meat in this soup was minced, tender, and melts in your mouth. The japchae was some of the best we have had in San Diego cuz we can’t remember the last time we had a local restaurant’s taste decent. This will definitely be a popular spot for us when the weather cools off to enjoy these hot pots.

Buga Korean BBQ Restaurant
5580 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92117, United States
I had an incredibly enjoyable experience at one of San Diegos finest Korean BBQ restaurants. The menu not only offers seriously super delicious BBQ options but also a variety of other outstanding dishes. I was so immersed in the delightful flavors that I forgot to capture many photos of the mouthwatering dishes.I savored marinated beef ribs, cold noodles, and steamed egg in a stone bowl – each dish was beyond delicious. The attentive servers added to the positive experience, displaying genuine sweetness and kindness. They checked on us with great care, a gesture I truly appreciated. The restaurant boasts a spacious parking lot illuminated by super bright lights at night. The clean and recently renovated bathroom further contributed to the overall positive impression. I wholeheartedly love this place and highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Korean culinary experience.

Woomiok
3860 Convoy St ste 113-114, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
Nice Korean restaurant specializing Korean “Tang (soup)” dishes in San Diego. Very clean interior atmosphere and there are outdoor dining as well. I’ve had few of their soups and they were all good (meat portions on low side). Side dishes are delicious. Price have increased a bit from older menus listed here so be aware. Definitely dine in for these dishes since they are not a takeout friendly dishes. Overall, must try Korean restaurant in San Diego!Updates 3/2023: They have updated & raised prices on each dishes again. Less variety to choose from and service has been on the decline. Still a good Korean dinning option in San Diego but with constant price increase and no improvement to show for, I’m subtracting a star.3.3/5 ⭐️

Kogi Korean BBQ

It is a Korean barbecue. Its good to have a variety of menus, especially the makchang. The staff is good and the service is good. The parking lot is spacious, so you can park your car comfortably and use the restroom. There are many Asians, including Koreans.San Diego thinks its a good barbecue restaurant here.

Taegukgi Korean BBQ
7655 Clairemont Mesa Blvd #501, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
Taegukgi is still the best AYCE Korean BBQ places in the area. Theres a lot of korean bbq restaurant now and I have tried some of them, theyre good but nothing beats or levels with TGG yet.We prefer coming here for early lunch right when they open. Dinner gets a little bit crazy because this place is so popular. They give you large meat servings. My favorite is the beef belly and spicy pork belly. You should not miss the steamed eggs. It takes longer to get served because of the cooking process but please be patient. Their banchans (side dishes) all tastes good. The servers are very friendly and quick on their feet. They are also paying attention when your grill needs to get changed.Overall, we always leave with happy tummies!

Gen Korean BBQ House
10765 Westview Pkwy, San Diego, CA 92126, United States
Why!? ...are there crowds most nights and long lines with 45+ minute waits? I found out what makes this place different from other Korean BBQ restaurants. Of course it has all the things you would expect in a great Korean BBQ joint ( stoves at the tables, all you can eat, classic meat choices, etc., etc.). But the thing that seems to be attracting such crowds ( especially young groups) is the night club vibe. The bar, the nice tables & chairs, the lights, the hip music, the big investment in decor, and the sound system all make think you are hanging out a new popular night club in north, inland San Diego county. Here are pics of the menu, the restaurant and bar area. You wont be disappointed!

Olleh CONVOY Korean BBQ
4344 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
This is the best spot in San Diego for Korean bbq. I like this restaurant better than TGG, Manna, Prime, and Gen. The service is always fast once you are seated. The servers and bussers check on you always and clean as they go. I wish it was better Ike TGG but I feel the side dishes are better in flavor and quality than the other locations. TGG has the best ventilation out of all the locations, I don’t walk out smelling like bbq at TGG. OLLEH I do smell like bbq but it’s so worth it.
