Braised Beef Noodle SoupThe holy grail for many in the Bay Area is Taiwanese Beef Noodle SoupUnlike SoCal and despite the large number of Taiwanese Americans in the immediate Bay Area, a strong recommendation for Beef Noodle Soup is still hard to find much less get a strong consensusPop-ups like takeout only @chiangbeefnoodlesoup have helped, but a true sit-down restaurant with high-quality beef shank and tendon, slurp-worthy noodles and a long simmered broth remains a pipe dream (with multiple weaker or pricey restaurant (Liang’s, Mama Liu, Chef Hung) renditions closing throughout the pandemic)Enter Duan Chun Zhen from Taiwan with their family recipe from Sichuan. With an aesthetic that is more reminiscent of Din Tai Fung than a casual Taiwanese noodle shop, Duan Chun Zhen emphasizes high-quality braised beef, three noodle types and a 23 spices long-simmering broth, all at an elevated price point to bootI opted for their signature “three-treasure” braised beef noodle soup with beef shank, tendon and tripe and chose hand pulled noodles. The entree only is $17 and a combo with a sweet drink and small side dish is $23The broth is actually very good and the quality of the meat is high too, except there isn’t much of it. The tripe had three tiny slices and I only had one small tendon. The shank was more generous but not sliced as I like (available in another version)The noodles, while hand pulled are too wide and I prefer my fresh noodles like Pho Ha Noi; not too wide, not too thin, but just rightOverall, it was a solid bowl but the price point is higher than expected, especially the combo priceNext time, I’ll opt for the thin noodles, skip the tripe and tendon, and choose sliced braised shank (which I sampled because I was still hungry after my main bowl)I’d also skip the combo and just get pickled cucumbers at Marina at a fraction of the cost and a Vitasoy drink that would probably taste similar to the overly sweet winter melon tea? Braised Beef Noodle Soup (Shank, Tripe, Tendon), Hand-Pulled Wide Noodles Combo $23 / Pickled Cucumber $5 / Winter Melon Lemon Tea / Braised Beef Shank $5.99?Duan Chun Zhen Noodle House (Cupertino, CA)

We were recommended this place by our fellow Yelp/Foodie friend and who doesnt ever crave for a hot bowl of beef noodle soup? As we were a large party, we were unable to make reservations and had to wait. Luckily, it was probably around a 20-30 minute wait so it wasnt too bad. They have an extensive menu that also crosses over to desserts and drinks. I almost wished that we hadnt planned to go to another spot for drinks/dessert because their selection seemed pretty good as well. Not sure if its because its Northern California, particularly the Cupertino area, but the prices were definitely not as competitive or forgiving as compared to prices youd find in the Southern California SGV area. Dont be scared by the higher price point, because they do deliver with the quality of their ingredients and portion size. We were all fairly happy with our choices and even wished there was a location in Orange County.|| L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G ||-Located in the same plaza as Sprouts, TJ Maxx, Starbucks and more!-Cross Streets are Stevens Creek Blvd and S De Anza Blvd.-Probably difficult to find a close spot, but there are plenty of spots in the plaza if you dont mind the extra steps. Id say the parking is hassle free.|| F O O D ||Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup ($19.00) - I was skeptical about ordering this due to the higher price point, but I was craving beef noodle soup, so what the heck. Got to get the wide noodles to have that authentic beef noodle experience! As soon as I sipped on the broth, I knew we had a winner right here. Also, Im someone who always wishes there was more protein in my bowl of noodles, but in this case, it felt like I had a never ending supply of beef chunks. Yes, please keep it coming haha. If you really wanted to, two people could split this, but Im a fatty so I took the leftovers home for myself. If youre not too hungry for noodles but still want the broth and beef chunks, they have that option as well.Beef Pancake Wrap ($15.50) - Cant order a beef noodle soup without a beef pancake wrap. So darn delicious. Crispy on the outside and just the right amount of thinly sliced beef and sauce on the inside. I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could order one for myself.Spicy Pig Ears ($11.75) - Found out my friend likes pig ears too so we ordered one to share. They were not kidding about the spiciness. It was so good that we had to slow down because the mala spiciness was starting to kick in. Although pricey for what it is, Id still recommend it.Spicy Red Oil Mini Wonton ($12.75) - Note that these are mini wontons and not the gigantic ones you usually see at most restaurants. These were good but nothing really special to me. I think it could have used more chili oil for more of that spicy kick.

The noodles are just ok. The sauce is disappointing and very average. We had garlic biang biang flat noodles, hoping for handmade but its factory type. There are better noodle shops around the Cupertino area. The staff are friendly though and service is excellent.

I would give negative reviews to this place if I could. Their customer service is horrible––the manager especially (as of January 2019) is *extremely* incompetent. So, here goes: The restaurant messed up on an order that I made through Uber Eats. Maybe an honest mistake––it happens. I ordered the Mango Mojito drink with boba (an extra topping), but upon receiving the order from the Uber delivery guy, I found that the boba was missing. Unhappy with my order––as any customer would be––I called the restaurant to ask what happened. The lady that answered the phone was considerate; she offered a discount or free drink I could redeem upon coming there in person. I wanted some sort of written guarantee for my purposes, maybe an email or something, so I inquired. She routed me to the manager, which completely flipped the script.First, he claimed that the Mango Mojito did not come with extra toppings. He suggested this as an explanation for why I did not receive boba with the drink. This was peculiar since the form presented on the Uber Eats website *by the restaurant* presented a myriad of extra toppings, including boba. Further, I was charged for the boba, too, so minimally I should get a refund. Completely ignoring what I said, he blamed Uber for messing up the order to the restaurant. I could maybe understand that logic in some situations, but definitely not in this one. Heres why. The restaurant fulfilled my footnote requests for less ice and sugar in a second drink that I ordered, so surely they would have seen that I asked for boba in the first drink. I probed the manager again––I asked him, if I came to the restaurant right now and asked for boba with the Mango Mojito, then you give it to me? He said, Yes, but it would cost extra.YES! And this is exactly what I did through Uber Eats, so please explain to me how you *cant see* that I ordered boba for the first drink, but *can* see my footnotes for the second drink? On top of that, he started going off on how 60 cents isnt that much, Uber Eats sucks, Doordash is better, and the kicker––how the Uber Eats delivery driver is in charge of making sure my order is correct. Oh ok, let me get this straight. Now the Uber delivery driver––someone who merely transports food/drinks from point A to point B––is in charge of making sure everything that was supposed to be in my order was there? Yeah, it makes perfect sense for the delivery driver to start inspecting my drinks for boba, less ice, and less sugar. Because of the inconvenience, I asked for a discount or free drink, which was reasonable since that is something even his colleague had offered me before. He said he had no jurisdiction and I should take it up with Uber. What is Uber supposed to do? The restaurant messed up my order, not Uber. The manager even conceded that it was partly their fault, but he still refused to compensate me for the inconvenience.I thanked him for his time because there was no point in arguing with someone so incredibly out-of-sync with business ethics. What happened to the customer is always right? Point being, dont go to this place. Cupertino has a ton of other better pho and boba places.

Prepare for a long wait (at least 45-60 minutes) on Saturday night. It appears even more chaotic because the line for the boba shop next door is crazy as well. Three of us waited for about 1 hour before getting seated around 7:15PM.Food:*Spicy oxtail udon $16 - Solid udon noodle in a spicy, fatty oxtail broth. Both the oxtail and beef chasu were tender and yummy.*Utsuke (Udon Tsukemen) dipping udon $13.5 - The beef and dashi broth was thick and very flavorful, perfect for dipping the udon.*Chilled Shabu Shabu udon $13.5 - For the record, the person who ordered this had no idea what Shabu Shabu is. And even if he did, it is not the Shabu Shabu you are expecting. The only similarity is the thinly sliced beef. However, the soy milk dashi dipping broth was cold and tasted a little like wasabi to me. I usually eat Udon on a cold day, but this is definitely a dish for a hot day.Service was good for how busy it was. We ordered a Caesar Salad that never came, the waiter offered a free salad on the house but we were too full at the end of the meal. If Im craving good udon this winter, Ill be back!

You can see the pork intestines are cleaned very well and filled with fat. Most items are priced between $8 -$12 and good portion sizes. Residence Inn by Marriott San Jose Cupertino

My family and I come here every year to stay since my kids are in Scouts. The hotel in conveniently located next to Apples Headquarters and several of the hotel guests are Apple employees. The hotel has a free breakfast which is very good. if you eat breakfast, say “Goodmorning” to Rosa. she is the person who helps clean-up the dishes and always has a smile on her face. The breakfast buffet includes making your own waffles which my kids love to do; add some Nutella and bananas and you have a great waffle :). Breakfast is buffet style with scrambled eggs bacon sausage and other typical foods like oatmeal yogurt bananas (and other fruit) cereal bread bagels muffins hard-boiled egg etc.We always get the room with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. it works out perfectly for our family. The sofa is also a bed so you could squeeze 6 people in the room if you had to.The room comes with an electric stove, oven, microwave owen, dishwasher, all the utensils needed for basic living (fork knife spoon plates bowls toaster coffee machine refrigerator pots and pans, etc). it is basically a small furnished apartment.the hotel has a gym which is actually a pretty decent gym, a fire-pit and BBQ grilling area in the back of the hotel near the parking lot. Parking is free and in a parking structure (which always has parking available)Most importantly, the hotel has a laundry room with about 6 washers and 10-12 dryers. we just finished a 2.5 week trip and it was great to get all the laundry done in about 2 hours. detergent and bounce sheets are free !Within 30 second to 1 minute walk, there is a Philz coffee, meet fresh (bubble tea), Ippudo (noodles) and several other restaurants that are suitable for most people. Across the street (about 3-4 minute walk is a bowling alley. about 4-5 blocks away there is a Safeway grocery store as well as a 99 Ranch supermaket. So this is a fantastic place to stay. Citibank is just across the streetThe only thing i think could use improvement is the internet speed. given that it is next to Apple, i would think internet service would be faster (maybe it is a paid upgrade service or something-i will have to look into that)Would we stay here again ? Well we stayed here last year and we are back. my kids love staying here so we would absolutely stay here again ??Thanks Rosa for always being so friendly and cheerful in the morning when everyone else is still half-asleep ?. You've made staying here such a blessing ?

We got the seafood platter and garlic noodles! The place looked very new and location is convenient in Main Square Cupertino with lots of other shops. Unfortunately the seafood wasn’t fresh and tasted frozen so shrimp and mussel is hard, and garlic noodles portion was really small. Also they give out free desserts for google and yelp review. So be wary of that might be a contributing factor for all of the good reviews here.
Blackberry Farm Recreation and Pool

I love this place . They have a huge slide for the kids that are a little larger and can swim . There are two pools one for smaller children an is shallow an only has one lifguard on the pool with one on slide duty. The other pool is larger has two different life guards on duty . Id say it had a lot more oler kids in it an could pass a test performed by the life guard. You can also sign out a life jacket for your child using your ID which I liked a lot since my child is still tiny an unafraid . They also sold food on site as well as let you bring your own food. This place was amazing .
