Seasons Noodles & Dumplings Garden
702 Villa St, Mountain View, CA 94041, United States
My friend and i were looking for restaurants still open at 8:00pm (a difficult task in the south bay) and decided to try seasons.upon entering, there were a lot of available tables. service was relatively friendly. menu has a variety of noodle soups, noodles, and other meat dishes.unfortunately i was pretty underwhelmed by the quality/flavor of the food itself.// braised beef noodle soup ($) //i was excited to try the niu rou mian as it seems like this is the most popular dish. however, the soup lacked flavor depth for me. it was slightly bland and tasted a bit watered down? i was really looking for that flavorful broth with a bit of kick. the noodles were chewy and good, but the broth was disappointing. it was also lukewarm which did not help.// pork and cabbage pie ($) //the pie came out hot and fresh. it tasted like how i thought it would, but nothing extraordinary. it was also really oily.overall, due to other places in the bay area, i wouldnt come back but im glad i tried it.
Lucky Chinese Bistro
1040 Grant Rd STE 100, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
This place feeds their customers old disgusting foods and eat the fresh lean food themselves. I went there since its close to work. It was around 2 pm. All the food choices didnt look good but I was hungry and thought everything around here is almost the same type of food. I ordered my food and thought $12 for a fast food lunch was fine. As I just got my food I saw the owners of the place, two ladies and two man who all are speaking Chinese to each other are having a nicest, fresh plate chicken, vegetables on top of rice. I ask the lady who helped me that I like that food too. She said no, this is only for us, you eat your own food. This was the craziest thing ever. Even one star is too many for this gross place. I give them negative 5 star to serve the customers old very greasy food and eat the fresh food themselves.

Samovar
1077 Independence Ave, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States
We go to this store every week, a rare find for all things Russian, eastern European. They have a big selection of ethnic groceries including farm cheese to make syrniki, jams, cakes, candies, pickles, sausages, pastries, caviar, even Russian books and toys. They also have the dine-in section on the side of the store, but a bit narrow. You can also order to go box there too.Its located on the back of Costco Mountain View which is very convenient too. The staff there are all super friendly, and they speak both English and Russian to customers. The owner sometimes gives a little treat to my kid, which is such a nice gesture! Overall, Id highly recommend Samovar to anyone who wants to try some eastern European food, or who wants a sneak peak into the eastern European culture!
Chicken Gs
1414 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
I am a fried chicken freak. I must try it wherever I go. I was in Mtn View on Friday, and I had to stop. I only like bone in chicken, and they do sell that-- although it was difficult to communicate this to the person at the counter. So, I didnt want any side dishes, I just wanted 2 pieces of fried chicken. This took a while to get this across, but I was finally able to order a 2 piece order of chicken for $9.49 (ouch). I waited about 15 minutes and the chicken came out super hot and fresh. The breading and spices are amazing. It has a unique flavor, but not in a bad way.Well, I was so excited that I wanted to share this chicken with my Wife, so the next day I returned with my Wife and I attempted to order 8 pieces of chicken without the sides and this counter person either did not understand English or was just a jerk? He just kept pointing at the menu and would not listen to me. I explained to him that I bought chicken without sides the day before. There were two other employees there that could have assisted, but they just stood there staring at me. I finally gave up and ordered the combo dinner. It was $44!! The chicken is great but most of the staff are clueless. I spoke to my daughter about it and she said that the staff were really rude to she and her girlfriends when they visited there. Due to the crazy high prices and odd staff, I will not return.
Garden Fresh
1245 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
I love meat and have often fought with my sister over restaurant options when she was vegetarian. However, Garden Fresh was a place that we could always agree on. The fake meat here is tasty enough to satisfy the carnivore within. Many of the dishes can be hit or miss in terms of flavor but the standouts are anything but bland. Our favorites are Kung Pao Eggplant, Orange Veggie Chicken, Veggie Ham, and Veggie Chicken Curry. Be wary during entree selection. Some of the sauces and fake meats are repeated throughout the menu so you may end up with variations of the same dish. I always like to double check with the waitress to make sure this doesnt happen. Its a very casual place with limited seating. The owner is very friendly and food comes out quickly though they can get overwhelmed when the restaurant is crowded. Parking in the lot is limited. A friend mentioned that this is the sister restaurant of Garden Fresh in downtown Palo Alto. Im not sure if this is true but I heard that the wife operates one location and the husband operates the other.Avoid: Spinach Linguine Salad with Sesame dressing (It used to be a favorite but its become quite bland and they have become stingy with the sesame sauce). The happy family and orange beef were not great when compared to the other dishes.Tip: Dont order soup because they usually give you a complimentary one after you place your order (its happened to me during both lunch and dinner). The default soup is corn and tofu but Ive substituted for the hot and sour on occasion.
Nijiya Market Mountain View Store
143 E El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
Called at 9 am to see when their restaurant opened. Male employee on the phone said the restaurant opened at 8:30 am. I drove and spent precious gasoline looking for hot food at their restaurant, only to be greeted by a sign that said the restaurant was open at 11 am. I asked the attendant at the restaurant cash register and she said the restaurant was open at 11 am. The cashier said the one who takes the phone calls is the manager. I called again to see why the manager of all people would lie to me about when their restaurant opens. The female manager who received the call not only defended the previous misinformation from their employee, they also did so with a downright shoddy excuse. She said that Nijiya calls the refrigerated ready made bento section the restaurant and the actual restaurant the hot deli. Thats a hot excuse right there. Their own restaurant cashier referred to the place as a restaurant. Who in their right minds would say call and aisle of refrigerated onigiri a restaurant? The blatant lie and general unapologetic attitude of the managers working at Nijiya, who apparently lie to customers for fun, has destroyed my trust for this business. Unfortunately I cannot, in good conscience, buy goods at this place again.
Napoletana Pizzeria
1910 W El Camino Real, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
Update : 2022.02.11Weve been coming here for years and years. Weve gotten used to their multiple week closures during the summer time when they go on vacation and their strict standards to maintain high quality Napoletnana pizza. Our family of four have our favorites. Two of us always goes with one of our favorite pizzas, one has her favorite pasta, and one varies.Tonight was a shocker. Service was extremely slow (we even called ahead to check and they said only a few tables inside and a few outside were occupied). When we got there they warned is about the long wait for pizza. They were really back logged. At least 30+ mins. So I ordered pasta instead of my usual pizza. The pasta took about 30 mins to arrive, as did my wifes. Hers is the same favorite she always orders. But tonight it was quite Al Dente. But tasted great just a little crunchy. My linguine with meat balls was quite Al dente also (maybe rushed due to back log, it seemed there were TONS of pick up orders) but worse it was like someone accidentally dropped a salt shaker in my plate. It was sooo salty. I did not end up eating a lot of it. They offered for me to take it home but i couldnt imagine that much salt taste being salvageable. Very disappointed as compared to all our usual and frequent visits. I hope they adjust and warn people about busy times when asked over the phone or when people are being seated at the restaurant. Its kind of a bait and switch to not warn people that the whole service is slow, not just the pizza.Previous review :Great traditional Nepolatana style pizza. One of our families favorite go to for years ans years.
Ume Tea
220 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041, United States
I think this location is the prettiest ume tea so far in the Bay Area that Ive tried. Ive checked out Fremont, Newark, and Palo Alto locations so far and I think this one has more IG worthy decor that you can take with your drink. Its located in downtown Mountain View, the street was blocked off for pedestrians so find parking a block or so away and walk here.Upon walking in youre greeted with a bunny statue and youll see pretty walk painting to your right, and a pretty Ume light sign to your left. There are no tables/chairs but they have bench type seating against the right wall.I thought the popcorn chicken here tasted better than the other location - so crispy and flavorful! I loved their fried octopus! I actually enjoyed it more than the popcorn chicken, although both were very tasty. The portions were HUGE so I shared them with my family. I got the surprise bunny milk tea with regular milk tea, 30% sweet, light ice, and boba. It wasnt too sweet and it came with a cute bunny plushy! My friend got a cute plushy as well. So if youre looking for cute plushies, check this place out! I also tried a bucket of fresh green fruit tea - wow so good! I loved the real fruits infused in the green tea. I can drink this for days! My husband almost killed the whole bucket himself across two days. Id love to come here again if Im ever in the Mountain View area!
In-N-Out Burger
1159 N Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States
I cant say I like this place. I strongly prefer absolutely any other fast burger option. The burgers at in-n-out are dry, thin, and nasty, while the buns are greasy. At best they are comparable to McDonalds, which would otherwise define the worst fast food burger option. Worse really, the fries are undercooked and mealy. Hands down they are the worst fast food fries to be bad anywhere. Unlike the burgers, they dont even compete for last place. They are simply inedible. The service is unimpressive, though I dont see what would ever be good about waiting 20-30 minutes in the drive through. Dispite all of this, my wife loves the place. It cannot be explained. Maybe there are drugs in the food that she responds to. I cant imagine but, since I love her, we sit in the interminable lines so she can get her lettuce wrapped burgers. Anyhow, of you like the place, I guess you like it. I will never understand.
TBread
805 E El Camino Real D, Mountain View, CA 94040, United States
I was excited about coming here last week and trying their banh mi as the pictures looked good and the reviews seemed to be good as well. There are a few things that are causing me to rate this so lowly.1. There was someone walking around on the phone with no mask on talking on the phone while orders were being prepared, including mine. There is a sign at the entrance saying that masks are required to come in.2. Had ordered the TBread special and the Lemongrass chicken (#2) and had issues with both. The TBread was dry and the pork floss didnt help at all. The picked veggies (applies to both) tasted watered down and not flavor enough. The lemongrass chicken barely tasted like lemongrass and was generally bland.3. For $8+ a sandwich, they seemed overpriced and not worth the cost. Yes the size of the sandwiches were on the larger size but dont feel that for the lack of flavor with no major standouts to the sandwiches, its just not worth it.4. When I placed my order, I had also ordered an iced coffee but I guess they didnt hear me. Im fine with that if I they didnt charge me, which they didnt but what I do have an issue with is how the person said it. It was a very accusatory tone as if Im trying to pull a fast one of them or something. I left a 15% tip for take out, why would I trying and cheat my way out of a $4 drink???
