Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors

Stay far away from this place, the manager is rude and ignorant and lacks any kind of customer service. I ordered Fire Cracker Tofu because we are strict vegetarians and when we got home it was chicken. I called the store and told the manager about the mistake, he kept insisting that I ordered chicken when I didn't, he continued to argue with me and insisted I bring it back. I told him I lived on the other side of Carlsbad so I asked him if he could give me a refund, he insisted I bring it back and then he would, I said I can't because I'm handicapped. Now this he didn't care about, he just wanted me back in the store to return the food so he could give it to someone else. He said, “well I can check the cameras.” I said go ahead and check them, he said, “I can't now but I will tomorrow.”I asked to speak to the manager, he said “I am the manager.” Wow I can't believe a business would treat a customer this way for $23!!!I asked his name and he hung up on me!Tomorrow I am calling the corporate office and report him. It's very sad because I really like their Fire Cracker Tofu, you couldn't pay me to do any kind of business with this guy.The company needs to give customer service training.2/9th updateI finally received a call from his regional director, she was applauded by the managers treatment. She stated that they would reimburse my money (which they did) and also send me a couple of coupons for free meals. She said if I download their app she would send them to me via the app, this never happened.

We spent seven weeks at the Homewood Suites in Carlsbad, California. On the morning of December 18th, 2018, I awoke and found 10 to 12 red bites on my back and shoulders. Uncomfortable and concerned, I went to my doctor who determined that the bites were from bed bugs. After my visit to the doctor, I offered medical proof of the bed bug bites to the hotel. The hotel staff was less than sympathetic to our plight, simply offering to move us to another room and to wash our clothes. I was uncomfortable with washing my delicate clothing in hot water to rid the bed bugs. Upset by the meager offer, which likely would cause damage to my personal property, combined with advice from my doctor, we decided to move hotels.Despite leaving we still believed that the hotel should compensate us for the damage to our personal property (clothing, suitcases, and medical co-pays). We once again reached out to management, who chose to ignore our concerns. Realizing that our issues were not properly being addressed, we decided to contact the regional manager through email. Once again, we are disappointed by the hotel's response. Instead of offering compensation for damage to our property, the regional manager chose to offer evidence of remediation, as though he was mounting a defense for a court case. The hotel's response to my valid and substantiated medical claims of bed bites was, “It possible that you came in contact with a bug somewhere in your daily life as there have been reports of bed bugs biting people in movie theaters, airplanes, taxi cabs, doctor's offices, and any other are were people or animals dwell.” In many ways I feel like they are calling me a liar. We lived in this hotel for seven weeks out of necessity. This was not a vacation for us. We did not spend days running to tourist attractions. We have suffered enough trauma as a result of displacement from our home. Why would we make up the bed bug incident? It is unfortunate that instead of putting guests need first, Homewood Suites, chooses to invalidate and disprove our very real suffering. I strongly advise against staying at a hotel that puts their bottom line above a guest's needs.
Noodles and Company
2521 Palomar Airport Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92011, United States
Noodles & Coompany is one of those casual chain restaurants that consistently delivers good food and cheerful service. They have a wide variety of tasty pasta dishes that should suit all tastes. They have typically American pasta favorites like macncheese, Italian variations like pesto cavatapi, and Asian entrées with udon noodles and ramen noodles. They accomadate special diets with gluten-free pasta. They have dishes with meat and without. Each dish comes in two sizes for really hungry and not so hungry customersIve been going to Noodles for many years and to different locations, and they have always served delicious food. My only complaint is that they no longer offer a free noddle dish on your birthday.I have been all over the country on various birthdays and could always count on Noodles for a good dinner. This year, I was offered a large rice krispies bar. Yuck! I didnt even ask the server for it.I think chocolate cupcakes or something similar might be a more appropriate birthday dessert. But I do miss those birthday bowls. I can no longer justify making a party out of my birthday at Noodles, inviting a bunch of friends ?
Chins Gourmet
West Bluff Plaza Shopping Center, 6990 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
We tried again...thinking maybe the first 2 times were a fluke. This place is so bad. I ordered food to go at 8:10pm, was told to come in 20 minutes. I showed up 10 minutes early and the order came right out. The fried wontons were stale, greasy and super disappointing. Those fried wontons had been around for a few hours or days. Ive never had stale fried wontons. I have scarfed them the next day or even 2 days later and they were still crispy. The handmade dumplings were rubery and cold and fleshy. The eggrolls were tasty because at least they had just been fried unlike the wontons but not special at all. The beef and broc was adequate at best. The last time we ordered I asked to replace the protein with tofu and they were adament there would be no substitutions...even though it would be cheaper for them. Lucky for them they have zero competition.
Tasty Noodle House
2501 S El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Amazing food, which came out hot, tasted phenomenal, & the service here was above average. My wife picked this place, & she told me it was new, so we gave them some business. The only thing I didnt like about this place, was their Thai iced tea, as well as this iced green tea was $4.75, per glass, for a regular-sized glass-with no free refills. I showed up here super thirsty, & theres no way I was gonna pay apporox. $10 for 2 glasses of tea.Tasty Noodle House starts off by bringing you two small, free bowls -1 filled with fresh salted peanuts, which were very good! The other was a bright green mound of pickled cucumber, mixed with seaweed. This was also mighty ?.I ordered the $15.99 Beef Chow Mein, In Black Pepper Sauce. When my plate came out, my eyes bugged out, when I saw how gynormous, the mound, of steaming hot noodles, mixed with green vegetable & thin, tender strips of beef, was! Not only that, my food tasted amazing! The pepper sauce...gave this dish a nice zing of flavor. My wife ordered the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. She loved hers, as well. There were humongous chunks of Asian-spiced Brisket, along with a large bowl of tender, super hot noodles, plus baby greens. In the broth, you could clearly taste the cardamom, & the flavor from red chile peppers, plus also the tastes derived from cinnamon sticks. Yowza, this was so good!To cap it off, we ordered Shanghai-Grilled Pork Buns. These babies looked beautiful, tasted incredible, & were loaded with ground pork. There were golden brown sear marks on the bottom of these, & pale-colored sesame seeds, on the bottom of these, & black sesame seeds, sprinkled on the top of these Pork Buns, which really rocked!Id definitely come back here!
P.F. Changs
5621 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
My second eating experience with P.F. Changs with kids (first was in Waikiki Beach) - and certainly I would summarize it as disappointing. Similar to other reviews, presentation of the initial plate (Kung Pao Dragon Rolls) was pretty with smoke coming out of a transparent cover, but the food itself fell far below standard. We order pork dumplings and they, too, were stale and not soft and delightful - instead they were dry and old.The only item that came out well was their signature lettuce wraps. The Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts were satisfactory - a bit charred and oily, while also very tasty. Our server seemed to be having a bad day - or just has a less than gracious personality. When he brought out the water, we mentioned that our daughter prefers no ice, and he said, oh, theres barely any in there, and it will be the same temperature anyway - i.e. he rejected our request for no ice.The child portion of egg noodles (with chicken and a side of broccoli) is extremely small, and this seems consistent at all P.F. Changs. We ordered a second one, and asked if it was possible to swap out the chicken and broccoli for extra noodles, and were told no, so we said, thats fine, just bring out the same. However, our server ended up accommodating our request without disclosing hed charge us 71% more - which was not okay. The charges described extra chicken and substitute broccoli. And finally, there was the snarky comment after we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, kung pao brussels sprouts, pork dumplings, and kung pao dragon rolls - and he said something like, oh, youre only having appetizers? On the ambience side, the decor was pleasant, bathrooms are well appointed and clean. I noticed the architect or designer artistically integrated a fire sprinkler into every light fixture so that it wrapped below them to be able to effectively put out fire while blending in. We also ordered a signature cocktail - which was nice. So, perhaps Mondays are an off day for the main chef and top servers, and so food quality and service are lower...
The Cheesecake Factory
2525 El Camino Real Suite 105, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
I came here at 9:30 and ordered my food to-go. I ordered the gumbo. The cashier seemed nice at first. It was a very long wait. Last time I ordered from here they forgot the chicken. So, this time I checked before leaving. They forgot the shrimp this time. I informed her of this. She immediately walked off saying shell ask for a side of shrimp instead of just taking the gumbo to have it fixed. She came back and told me itll be right out.I asked, Will it be cooked the same...? Will it taste the same? Her response was, yeah, you can just throw it in.I asked, is that how they usually make it?She says, yeah!So I say, oh okay fully accepting this as fact. She brings out the shrimp. I open the container to check it. Its pan seared (overcooked looking) shrimp with the tails still on. I say, uhh, the tails are still on...?She says, you could pull them off.Not knowing how to respond I just say, uhhh.... ?She then says, I could take a knife and cut them off for youuuuWondering if this really happening I start to look around for hidden cameras. With a complete attitude shift she says, Im just trying to be accommodating, maam. ??In response I could only laugh and cover my face in embarrassment. She was a completely different person.I politely ask, actually, can I just get my money back...? ?She says, Let me get my manager! And runs off.The manager comes over, hi! I heard they gave you the wrong shrimp?Yeah.... I respond. He takes the food, let me fix that for you! Completely ignoring any previous request for a refund. So I just say, If you could just have it made correctly with everything included....??Sure, no problem! He replied as he walked off.I wait nervously questioning if I even wanted the food. With the weird way people were behaving I was scared to eat anything and wish I had stood my ground on asking for that refund. They seem wacko enough to tamper with peoples food just because theyre having a bad day.He comes out with the food and says, Here ya go maam! I even had them add extra shrimp for you!Weird, I dont want extra shrimp. I just want it made correctly. Now the proportions are going to be off? Whatever. I just awkwardly nodded my head and said, okay.... as he awkwardly placed the food down probably due to sensing my own awkwardness.I checked the food and it looks completely different from the previous one they gave me. The original looked normal, but it was just missing shrimp. I get the gumbo all the time from various locations. This is the only location thats really weird. The second gumbo they gave me looked strange like curry. I struggled for a few minutes asking myself and my mom if I should just get a refund. She said, yeah, but Im always paranoid about my food. Get one if you want. I asked my friend on the phone who I sent a picture of the gumbo to, but he was responding extremely slowly. My mom got tired of waiting and started walk out so I followed her. Finally, my friend says, yeah, Id ask for my money back. Even my coworker says he wouldnt trust that! And they both started laughing and sneering at the picture of the food. I told them it was too late because I already left the building. Because the place took so long we left when they closed.I now have food in the fridge Im too afraid to eat. Im hoping to get a refund tomorrow. Also, they didnt provide any complimentary bread which I know they had because I saw waiters walking around with them. I also ordered the crispy crab bites, I tried those because we didnt go through a whole ordeal with them and have them brought back to the kitchen to be tampered with. They were burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Raw dough coating. Not good. This is also something Ive always gotten for years so I know how theyre supposed to taste.Long story short, dont trust this place. The people here are ghetto.Drive further for a better location. Its not worth dealing with these people.(See Yelp for my full review)
Chicken Basket & Boba
7610 Via Campanile #142, Carlsbad, CA 92009, United States
Very disappointed, hopefully they get their act together. Ordered some wings online, showed up a bit early since I didnt see the text until we parked that it should be done at 5:10. Waited outside a bit, popped in at 5:02 to see if maybe it was done early. Was told it would be a few more minutes. 5:10 came, no food. Went inside again at 5:15pm. Same answer, it will be a few more minutes. Ok, restaurant has 5 total people inside already eating, and there are a few people coming here and there for pick up. In summary its not busy at all. 5:23 pm, same answer again. At this point I said cancel my order. They said the drumsticks were ready but it would be another 4 minutes for wings. (Why?) How does that make sense. At this point I was done, and had them refunded my money. If the restaurant was actually busy, if they had a lot of people coming in and out picking up orders, maybe this would have been moderly acceptable, but a slow restaurant cant cook up 10 wings in 40+ minutes. Also doesnt help when your cook is walking past the window texting on his phone. Cant comment on the food, was really hoping for some good wings but I guess thats a tall request from a place with the word Chicken in the name.
Panda Express

We used to really like this place until one night I went in ordered my food about 45 minutes till they closed we were the last people before they closed. the people behind me were obviously friends of the employees they ordered exactly like my order and there was enough left in the pans for all of us to get the normal sized amounts . The employees gave them all of it and then made me wait for 25 minutes to cook another pan when it came out they dumped it all into a to-go container and gave all of it to their friends and they didnt charge them a dime. I requested to get my money back and they refused and made me wait another 25 minutes When they did give me the food it wasnt even cooked thoroughly and they were mad because I asked my money back that they refused, so they only gave me half of what we normally get, then I had to go home and use my pans to cook it thoroughly. To say the least I used to eat there three to four times a week spending about $70 a meal for a family of five. Well I now eat there is zero times a week.. I would have given zero Stars if I could have, their food was never that great kind of like eating at McDonalds they all taste the same, no matter which one you go to.
