Santiagos Taco Shop
755 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220, United States
The ONLY thing I dont like/agree with is Santiagos raising the price of their tacos from $1 + tax to $1.10 + tax. Im still giving them 5 stars because the food is great, they keep the place clean & Air conditioned, unlike their competitors on the very same street (Ramsey Blvd.), the staff is always nice & professional, they have A great salsa bar compared to other taco joints, you get A good portion size for your money etc. But according to an employee here, the owner raised the price of their tacos because of the states minimum wage raise which ofcourse, long time customers like myself, do not like. I still continue to come here sometime but I dont come here every single Tuesday like I used to just because of that price rising. I have looked & found other great taco joints in near by cities that still sell tacos for just $1 / 99cents & did not raise their price because of the minimum wage raise. If Santiagos wouldve never raised their prices then I wouldve never looked elsewhere & found other dollar taco restaurants. I know people personally who has also stopped coming here period & go else where for 99cent tacos all because Santiagos raised the price. So they have lost quite A few customers to other taco competitors because of their action but overall, I recommend this place over any Mexican joint in the city of Banning.

Consuelos Home Style Mexican Food

Great food in this spotlessly clean takeout restaurant. We went to Consuelo's today nearly 7 years since our last visit — we are from the East Coast and hadn't been to California in that time. However, as we planned our trip, the lingering memory from 7 years prior of incredible food made us build a stop here into our trip as we traveled from Palm Springs to LA. It was totally worth it!One big change is that the restaurant is now only for takeout (used to have a dining area 7 years ago). We were mildly disappointed by that, but oh well…the food was still delicious. We ate our tacos in our car and they were nice enough to give us containers to do so to avoid the mess in the car.The tacos are very big. One soft taco was like a small burrito and was sufficient to fill each of us up. The drinks were very large too (Coke products). The place was also very clean looking which is something that stood out to us 7 years prior and had not changed.Having tacos for breakfast was somewhat unusual but we were so thankful that we could have them at 9:30am to fill a long overdue craving. They did offer more traditional breakfast things too. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but hiding within is a true gem. After your first visit, you'll likely want to plan your future trips around a stop here too.
Surin Thai
300 S Highland Springs Ave STE 6B, Banning, CA 92220, United States
Ive only had 1 or 2 dishes, but both were quite good. The dining room is clean and waitstaff are prompt and friendly. The only issue youll regularly encounter is that it takes quite some time to get your food--frequently 30 minutes or more. I came in around 3pm on a Saturday and waited 30 min for my food after ordering (I was alone, so just one portion) and when it came they had forgotten my brown rice, which I waited almost another 10 minutes for. However, they were very apologetic and did not charge me the extra $2.50 for the brown rice because I waited extra due to their mistake. One thing I appreciate is that they are very upfront about the current wait times when you sit down or order takeout, and they even have a sign on their door to that effect as well. So I would say if you have time for a leisurely meal, go for it because the food is very good and the overall experience is pleasant! If you are on any kind of strict time limit, however, visiting Thai Chili in Calimesa or Thai Air in Beaumont might be a better choice in that respect.
Grammas Country Kitchen
2868 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220, United States
We have eaten in there on and off for 30 years. it had been a few years but we were close. We had the meatloaf diner. At $15.99 it is way over priced and the food was not all that good. The baked potato was small and not cooked all the way. The corn on the cob was very small and no flavor. The meatloaf was cut very thin and a little dry on the edges. The salads were small. The corn bread was a little dry and my wifes banana bread was not cooked at all and was like dipped in water it was so wet. The meal was $34.45 for 2 plus a tip. The value would have been half on a good day. We eat at Jennys dinner in Highland CA and get the same meal on the senior special for $6.99 and out the door for $15.20 including tax. The salads are 3 times the size and nicer. The potatos are 3 times the size, the veggies are always different and good. The meatloaf is thick and not hard on the edges. You can also have soup or salad. The soups are good. You get a nice dinner roll. You get pudding or Jello for a desert. You really get a good meal and they are not expensive on the entire menu. The servers at grammas were very nice and spot on. They are pushing $30 for a stake and it is not a stake house. Sorry but it is way over priced and a 5 out of 10 on the food. We travel all over the country and other parts of the world. So much better food in LA and even at hole in the walls in the mid west. Never going back. I am over 70.
Thai Orchid Restaurant
6350 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220, United States
Good food with friendly service. May not be as flavorful/savory as other Thai restaurants, but we love it down to earth!!! The Tom Yum noodle soup was alright, while the papaya salad we ordered was especially goooood, but be mindful its still very spicy, even tho theres no chili icon by the item on the menu. Its a solid Thai food restaurant after all! Will def be coming back next time! Its right off the 10 and a perfect midway stop between LA and Joshua Tree NP.
Guys Italian Restaurant
5970 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220, United States
Had dinner in Banning. A little Italian restaurant called Guys Italian restaurant. On road Northside parallel to interstate 10. I had ice tea and Water to drink. Italian wedding soup. Beef raviolis in a tomato sauce. I added two meatballs. They provided a hoagy roll sized loaf of buttered garlic bread. Got out of there for $23 and change plus tip. I stopped there because of all the cars in the parking lot. Lots of them. The clue I needed. The locals, couples and lots of families, eat there and the restaurant was busy and waitstaff was attentive. I was pleased with the meal, the price and the service. I would stop there again without question.

I recently tried this restaurant on my way home from the airport. I am a returning resident to California. I found this restaurant to be small and cozy. The meal was very delicious. I ordered California roll and teriyaki shrimp. Along with teriyaki chicken, miso soup, and a salad.
Crazy Coyote Tacos
13033 Malki Road, Banning, CA 92220, United States
Food was good. The reason for one star was that the kitchen staff disrespected me and my daughter. My daughter, (2 1/2yrs) saying in a hurried tone to go potty. I went to take a look if they had a restroom on the side or anything and one of the kitchen staff popped her head out asking if i need anything. I asked if they had a restroom, she said that they did not and that i would have to go to the gas station to use their restroom. That is about a 4 min process to get to the restroom. I already spent 2 min looking for a restroom. Now my daughter is in distress holding back from going in her pants. I said nothing but thank you to the staff. I took my daughter all the way to the end of the parking lot near our car and put my daughter down, nothing else. Then the same kitchen staff ceme out yelling to me and my daughter saying that i cant do that here and that it is very disrespectful and that we should leave. (Disrespectful in what way? I havent done anything to disrespect anyone.) After that I went to put my daughter in our car and hoping i can make it to the restroom in time. In the midst of opening the car door my daughter peed herself and started to cry heavily. Do you know how heart breaking it is to soil yourself? That made me very upset. If there was any way to prevent that outcome, what would you have done?
Zen Japanese Thai Cuisine

I was surprised to find tonkatsu here in Banning. The food was great, miso soup was great(normally restaurants fail at miso). Service was okay, but the waitress served my food before brothers was ready, which is kind of bad but otherwise it was really awesome. Will go again for sure.
Johnny Russos Italian Restaurant
1335 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220, United States
I have been a fan of Johnny Russos for over a decade- I loved it the first time and never stopped finding more reasons to go back. Unfortunately, there are few local restaurants competing for my top pick, and Ive tried most. Russos had the advantage of being a family owned and operated traditional Italian restaurant - not a fast food, impersonal, efficiency seeking conglomerate with an assembly line approach to service. You feel part of his family upon being seated, and that homey touch lingers throughout the experience. Yes, the food is authentic, fresh, delicious but I expected it to be great. Prices have gone up like everywhere. But if your on a tight budget you can find great values. I opted for a lunch thing they very reasonable half order of fabulous rigatoni. I had a tooth ache and this kind waitress (probably a nurse on the side) starts me off with the perfect chianti (which I would never risk trying) and suggested the wedding soup instead of the salad I couldnt chew anyway. Expecting a typically bland house genetic slop,.i was treated to the simplest but most sumptuous surprise- a light broth with bits of tender chicken. I would never dip the unbelievable hot bread she brought into the soup- never (freakin heaven for aching mouth). Now, I guess you can adjust a pot of noodles so you can separate the softer ones cause she had the cook prepare my half entree to melt in my mouth without being mushy. That kitchen magician knocks out a rigatoni with marinara dish to die for. I covered the whole tab with spare twenty, but side-tipped the hostess for finding an isolated corner for me to hide, and a little extra for that angel Johnny found that pretended to be my waitress. Id say just like home but I never had it this good at home. I didnt even have to clean the dishes afterward. Anticipating the needs of each guest- and adapting to meet them. I call that exceptional service- from the front desk to the back burners.Support your local restaurantier. As he and his staff support you.
