Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
1884 Marron Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Our first visit to this Olive Garden location was pleasant and accommodating. When we arrived, the reception desk in the foyer reported the wait would be about forty-five minutes or more. The reception desk is in the lobby near the main entrance. There are dining tables behind the reception desk and the bar counter on the other side of the tables. Seating at the bar showed two stools were empty. We asked for the two stools and were immediately seated (Image: Olive Garden Carlsbad Foyer). One of my favorites at the Olive Garden is their unlimited Soup and Salad item. Most of the time, I’ll have a bowl of soup, “Pasta e Fagioli.” This soup is a mild Italian-style chili with a tasty broth. The large salad serving bowl always gets filled at least twice for us. I like their Olive Garden Salad dressing. It makes the fresh crunchy vegetables a wonderful meal that makes us return often. When we first arrived and parked the car, we didn’t see the main entrance. We looked for people, headed towards them. The main entrance is on the end of the building nearest to the Marron Road end of the parking lot. As we got closer, the main entrance was clear on that end of the restaurant (Images: Olive Garden Carlsbad Entrance Area, & Olive Garden Carlsbad Entrance). This Olive Garden has a lot of tables along the length of a long building. On each side, there are a lot of tables for a lot of people. Each dining area, not including the bar tables, is on the side of the building. That much dining space would make hosting a private party easy, while regular dining could happen on the other side.Bar seating distance was created by removing the bar stools. Unexpectedly, the spaced seating seemed to generate many conversations with those at the bar and the tables. I don’t remember this happening before the pandemic distance space.
Chins Szechwan - Carlsbad
2820 Roosevelt St, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant the other night while driving home. The waitress working was so kind and maintained great customer service while juggling bunch of phone and delivery orders.Black Pepper steak - 10/10Honey walnut shrimp - this isnt something I usually prefer at a Chinese restaurant but the waitress recommended it since its the most popular 10/10Ma La Three Flavor - had shrimp, chicken, & beef. I love the numbing spice and got a 5 out of 5 spicy. Dont be hesitant to order 5. I would say its a pretty normal spice and Im not one to eat too spicy. 10/10Chow Mein - the noodles are fried and it comes with the sauce that you pour on top. I didnt expect the whole thing to be fried and its usually not for me. Overall still great flavor just wouldnt order again. 8/10Salt & pepper wings - amazing! Must get this when you come 10/10

The staff were friendly and the restaurant is clean and trendy. The food is ok, the soup was over powered with cilantro and not the best Ive had, the egg rolls were delicious though.
Panera Bread
2501 El Camino Real Suite #220, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
This is a great Panera location! Never had a negative experience here, the staff are very friendly and kind and the food is always at paneras top notch standards. If youre a regular to Panera bread restaurants, this is a very good location, being at a newly renovated shopping mall and having plenty of space both inside and outside to enjoy your meal. Great place to grab a bite before seeing a movie at the theater next door, so you dont waste $47 on movie theater junk food. Come here and get a good meal instead. My personal favorites are the bacon turkey bravo, French onion soup and the blood orange lemonade.

This is a great Panera Bread restaurant. Ive been coming here since it opened and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly, and the indoor & outdoor seating remain clean. You cant go wrong with their soups or sandwiches.

FRUSTRATED with the lack of professionalism and accuracy of the staff. My company orders big lunches at least twice a month. Today when I ordered in Rapid Pick Up, the system asked for an alternate time of which I accepted but I never received a confirmation order. after I did this twice, I called and explained my situation I was placed on a 10 minute hold as the employee didnt know what to do. while on hold for over 10 minutes, I called from an alternate line and spoke with the manager who could not explain why the order did not come in. I asked if I could order over the phone and she put me on hold and had another employee by the name of Nathan take my order. when I went to pick up my order, I asked if he could confirm everything was in there. he reluctantly eyeballed the bag and said it was all in there. when I arrived back to the office, of course they forgot an item. I called and spoke with Nathan and he had nothing to offer me except a free lunch or a refund, when I decided on the refund, he said he would have to put me on hold and look for a manager, I asked the managers name and he was not sure who was working. This was embarrassing on our part to explain to our guests that they would not be getting what they ordered. needless to say, our company will no longer be ordering from Panera.
Noodles and Company
2521 Palomar Airport Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92011, United States
Noodles & Coompany is one of those casual chain restaurants that consistently delivers good food and cheerful service. They have a wide variety of tasty pasta dishes that should suit all tastes. They have typically American pasta favorites like macncheese, Italian variations like pesto cavatapi, and Asian entrées with udon noodles and ramen noodles. They accomadate special diets with gluten-free pasta. They have dishes with meat and without. Each dish comes in two sizes for really hungry and not so hungry customersIve been going to Noodles for many years and to different locations, and they have always served delicious food. My only complaint is that they no longer offer a free noddle dish on your birthday.I have been all over the country on various birthdays and could always count on Noodles for a good dinner. This year, I was offered a large rice krispies bar. Yuck! I didnt even ask the server for it.I think chocolate cupcakes or something similar might be a more appropriate birthday dessert. But I do miss those birthday bowls. I can no longer justify making a party out of my birthday at Noodles, inviting a bunch of friends ?

El Cubano
5806 Van Allen Way, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Nestled within the heart of our city, I recently had the opportunity to visit a Cuban restaurant called Café Cubano. Seeking an authentic culinary experience, I entered with high expectations, hoping to indulge in the vibrant flavors of Cuba. While my overall experience was decent, there were a few areas where the restaurant could have improved to truly capture the essence of Cuban cuisine.Café Cubano boasts an extensive menu featuring classic Cuban dishes such as the Cubano sandwich, ropa vieja, and arroz con pollo. The flavors were satisfactory, but they lacked the robustness I had hoped for. The slow-cooked meats were tender, but they could have benefited from a bolder seasoning profile to truly make them stand out. However, there was one aspect that piqued my interest—the mayo. The mayo served alongside the dishes had an exceptionally white appearance, lending a creamy texture and tangy flavor that complemented the dishes quite well. Its presence added a unique twist to the otherwise average culinary offerings. While the food was satisfactory, the service at Café Cubano left something to be desired. The staff seemed overwhelmed during peak hours, resulting in slower service and occasional mix-ups with orders. Despite these setbacks, the waitstaff remained friendly and willing to accommodate requests. I do hope the restaurant addresses the service issues to enhance the overall dining experience for their patrons. In terms of ambiance, Café Cubano had a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The décor reflected the vibrant spirit of Cuba, with colorful artwork and lively Latin music playing in the background. The seating arrangements were comfortable, creating an intimate setting for a relaxed dining experience. The only thing that stood out repeatedly was the mayos exceptionally white appearance, which seemed to be a consistent choice across various dishes. Though a small detail, it added a touch of visual appeal to the overall presentation.Café Cubano offers a decent selection of Cuban desserts that provided a sweet ending to the meal. The flan was creamy and flavorful, while the tres leches cake was moist and indulgent. The desserts were undoubtedly the highlight of the dining experience, leaving me with a lingering craving for more. Yet again, the mayo made an appearance, maintaining its pristine white color and contributing a tangy twist to the sweetness. In conclusion, Café Cubano offers a decent taste of Cuban cuisine, albeit with some room for improvement. While the flavors were satisfactory, they could benefit from a more pronounced seasoning profile. The service, although friendly, was somewhat lacking in efficiency. The ambiance successfully transported diners to the vibrant streets of Cuba, but the mayos exceptionally white appearance became a recurring element that caught my attention throughout the meal. For those seeking a casual Cuban dining experience, Café Cubano may be worth a visit, but dont expect a culinary journey that will leave you thoroughly enchanted.
AVO Caf (All Vegan Organic)
5808 Van Allen Way STE 115, Carlsbad, CA 92008, United States
Avo Cafe has just opened up around the corner from my apartment and Im very happy about it! Just a couple of blocks from the beach and a 10 minute walk from Downtown Santa Monica, its a great place to grab a late breakfast or lunch.Ive been by a couple of times now; its not been too busy and theres lots of seating on the patio outside in the back (which is dog friendly). The first time I went I got the the Mediterranean Panini and a Jam Dot which was delicious. The second time we split an Avo Pizza and a delicious slice of chocolate cake. I also grabbed a bagel with plant cheese to have from breakfast the next morning. They have a great selection of grab and go stuff, so if youre on your way down to the beach and are looking for a great plant based lunch, this would be a great place to stop off. I havent tried everything yet but I intend to stop by regularly and try the whole menu. Its great to have a new vegan cafe in town! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
