Jalapeos Restaurant

It took 45 minutes to even get the disgusting worse pupusas and horchata I've ever had. I live in a place with at least 4 Salvadoran restaurants not Mexican/Salvadoran. My family are from the country and I've been eating them since a baby. So maybe I'm biased, but this place was overpriced and terrible. I'm sorry four dollars for one pupusa is a lot to ask but than for it to be garbage was extremely disappointing. The masa was dry, the pupusa was over cooked and slightly hard, the beans inside were dry. I've never had dry Salvadoran beans we make them more looser than the Mexican refried. Anyways to continue on with disappointment. The dry beans were not mixed with cheese it seemed I would get bites of pure cheese all along the outside rim and then closer to the middle would be the beans it was not mixed. Seriously the absolute worse pupusa I've ever had. I usually eat 2 could barely finish one. The salsa was bitter, and seasoned weird definitely not authentic, the curtido tasted old and honestly dirty. On the topic of dirty I decided to get an horchata and boy I promise you don't make that mistake it was seriously one of the worst liquids I've ever put in my mouth. It tasted watered down with dirty water, it was not creamy at all, it was super dark which is fine but once again it tasted like literally toilet water. When I threw it down the drain in the morning the color was a disgusting grey color then all the brown powder that made it dark to begin with. I can't believe what they're making passes and could be sold I'm surprised people feel any other way maybe they haven't had better…
Panera Bread

Cashier in the front of the bakery w brown curly hair has poor customer service. Literally ordered a bagel pack w the two cream cheese tubs. They didn't have one of the flavors and she let me know she put 4small ones in there I understood I looked at the pack and the 4 smalls didn't equate the 1 8oz tub, so I asked for 2 extra because it's for a Corp. event and it's hard to share the small ones. She said no because it's the same. So I went and did the math and realized it wasn't the same. So I went back and asked if I could just have one extra she blows her breathe because she has to turn around and grab one extra but then she opens the other side of that mini fridge grabs a box huffing and puffing and say “here I actually found the large ones just go to your car and get the other ones and you can have this” mind you this is a rapid pick up order …. For me as a customer to be inconvenienced by an employee like her w a bad attitude because I'm asking her to do her job is crazy despite the fact or that I orders was in stock but not in my bag because she had to cut open a box …
Claybank Deli & Bagels

We came here on a whim because we were craving delicious deli sandwiches. We arrived there and it was a hole in the wall place. We ordered a 4 items that came out to $35 and left a $5 tip. We were excited that they served up boar's head product and had high hopes from the clerk who helped us.Caramel apple crepe- the texture was rubbery. I kept tasting coconut in it and I don't know why. The apple filling was decent but I've definitely had better crepes. Unfortunately, this was the best item we had.Everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese- usually this is one of my faboro combinations anywhere. The clerk said that their bagels are boiled but I've had these types of bagels before. This was was denser than your typical one and crumbly. Tasted stale bur my issue with the cream cheese. It tasted sour and off. I took another bite and it was so bad that I tossed it.Custom sandwich with multiple types of meat, chipotle mayo, added veggies- the sandwich was horrible. I took a bite because I was asked to. I wanted to vomit bc it was soggy but tasted sour. Also, another one to the trashA side of macaroni salad- this was basic, right? How can it be messed up? It was as it didn't taste right and the pasta tasted hard. Like frozen hard— not a good Al dente.Overall, the most disappointing food trip we had. We are left starving and trying to figure out how to get rid of this taste in our mouths. It tastes like the food went bad. Was it not stored properly or has the items gone past their shelf life? I don't know but I don't recommend this place.

We were in town for a conference in the Bay Area and needed catering for 30 people (Needed Ghanaian food). A friend from Stanford university recommended him and We called him a day before the event and he delivered. It was yummy. Perfect spice level, he actually ask you how you want it. The black sauce on the side, he calls it Shito was so good.We ordered Jollof rice, fried rice with grilled fish and chicken and he added fried plantains, salads and even added a drink made with hibiscus and ginger. This was perfect and everybody loved it.I will recommend him but try and call him ahead of time.
Lebanese Spoon

Had a fantastic experience here this evening. Came to visit my son and we wanted to try something new. Stopped by the Lebanese Spoon and were warmly greeted by the chef and family. We both tried the hummus, which really was some of the best hummus Ive eaten. We make it a lot at home and this blew ours out of the water. I was originally going to order the Kebab, but the chef suggested the Lamb Bi Ajheen, which I gladly took him up on. Absolutely delicious! Terrific seasoning and great overall flavor. My son got the chicken shawarma and he really enjoyed it. To top it off, the chef gave us some of the Zataar and Cheese dish. I was honestly shocked at the cheese portion - I couldnt quite put my finger on the overall flavor profile, but it was fantastic and quickly devoured. I had never heard of it, nor have I tried zataar before, but the flavoring of the herbs along with the tomato was spot on. My son said hed definitely be back - and if I make it back here, I will as well. Some of the best food Ive had in a while, served by a very warm and friendly host and chef. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Trattoria Martone
1058 Horizon Dr, Fairfield, CA 94533, United States
We three dined there for late lunch yesterday (9/4/21) and with the pizza chef not yet in residence, we shared superb appetizers and desserts. Though outsourced, the sourdough bread was great as we pleasantly were provided a second serving. The site is next to Heretic Brewing in a semi-industrial complex; the decor is muted minimalist streamlined with gleaming flooring, gentle musical ambience with no Sinatra muzak. The potatoes croquette were so tasty and unique; the Marinara meatballs delicious; the frito misto was in a very light batter, the calamari quite tender. The eggplant Parmigiana was rich, subtly seasoned, thick with layered cheese; the Caesar salad with anchovies was a large serving as was the wonderful Gorgonzola port-poached-pear salad with amazingly fresh crisp lettuce and spinach leaves -- the salad dressings were flavorful with a light touch, not heavily drenching the greens. The candied pecans and unique sliced pears were fabulous and I cant wait to order that salad again. We shared the beautiful layered tiramisu served on a saucer (not in a glass or cup, thank goodness) and a generous slice of the chocolate torte, both desserts accented with rich fresh whip cream and juicy sliced strawberries. Both such delectable treats we thoroughly enjoyed! The prices are eminently reasonable for gourmet-quality cuisine. Service was absolutely friendly and most attentive. The restrooms are in pristine sanitary condition of the highest standards. The wine list is clearly commendable, though we brought our own Pinot Noir: corkage fee is $20.00. We were happy with the experience as the presentation and exceptional ingredients for each order was quite an unexpected thrill enhancing the Fairfield-Vacaville dining scene. We shall return soon to try more selections and hope for pizza from that unbelievably authentic huge red-tiled oven that is indeed a work of art. The chef and his wife (our smiling most-accommodating server) have obviously invested labors of love with much work and enthusiasm in launching this epicurean enterprise. We wish them all the best of future success and look forward to another memorable visit . Check it out! (:
Joes Buffet

Been going here since i was 15 and im 33 now. They usually know all their customers by name and are so humbly nice and courteous. You can tell they truly enjoy their job and what they do and genuinely care about their customers. The food is spectacular and you get good hearty portions for your buck. They even have student specials for the nearby kids who attend school that come to eat. You feel right at home here and they keep it clean. I love everyone who works here and they are always happy to see me and ask how im doing everytime. I give them 10 stars. Very hardworking gracious loving people with excellent great tasting food and side dishes. A total must to visit if your ever in the area and want a great filling meal. I would recommend to anyone. And always get your gravy cup to dip your sandwich in. Even get your meat dipped while they are making the sandwich. Absolutely amazing. I recently became vegetarian but the sandwiches and gravy is so good i will just eat the sandwich with mayo lettuce and onions and mustard and dip it in the gravy. Happy to say i can still enjoy most of their side dishes. Some i will just take the meat out cuz their macaroni salad and their pasta is sooo good. Their salad is also so amazing and the dressing is absolutely fabulous. A+ in my book. Love you Joe!! Its Lisa by the way if you ever happen to come across this! God bless you may your buisness continue to thrive. Hands down best sandwich place in the city. You will leave full and happy and most likely with leftovers:)
Rod-Sap Thai Lao Kitchen
1767 N Texas St, Fairfield, CA 94533, United States
The staff were extremely friendly as soon as we walked in, even though we came in less than an hour before closing time. It is very clearly a family run restaurant that you can feel good about supporting.Food was good, we both had dishes from the fried noodles section of the menu, the portions were a good size. This restaurant provides much better value with comparable or better food than other Thai restaurants in Fairfield. If you dont order a drink and dont have a huge appetite so you can get two meals out of a dish, the value could be as good as In N Out.
Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom
800 Texas St, Fairfield, CA 94533, United States
Only been once but so far rather impressed. Lets be honest, 4 stars is pretty darn good. Great selection of beers on tap plus cans/bottles representing an eclectic mixture of stouts, IPAs, lagers, sours, etc. Id prefer a few more pilsner/lager options but I get it, not many breweries are focusing on those these days. They also feature some great local wineries: GV, Wooden Valley, and Galvan from what I could tell. I may bump them up to 5 stars as I gain more experience there but only took away 1 star (in reality 1/2 a star) for 2 reasons: I would love to have a full menu in front of me detailing not only the brew and wine options but also describing the food options. I got a hot dog with chili and cheese but come to find out the chili was all beans and no meat. Again not any kind of a deal-breaker and I will definitely be back because its a great watering hole with tons of options.

Never knew of this place until I saw their stand at alamo carnival in san Francisco. Got myself a plate of waakye and its the best food Ive eaten in a while. African restaurants always try to westernize African dishes and thus lose the uniqueness of our dishes, this wasnt like that. Their food had that unique African taste and flavor. Im definitely visiting them in Fairfield soon! Great food! Quality service!
