The passion fruit tea with less sweetened was great. The soup was not too salty and place was clean. Good service and foods overall. Glad to have more Vietnamese restaurants here in Manteca.

Golden Spoon Thai

A new Thai restaurant in Town. It was my first time found Thai food in Manteca. We have ordered many dished I recommented standout dish was the butterflyfish. There was a whole deep fired fish with thai special dressing with mango on top. Wonderful taste and filled with aroma. Oh, dont forget Pineapple fired rice. Beautiful presentation and simply delicious and brought along by Chef Pinyo from Lapat Thai noodle in SF downtown.AMBIENCE: I loved the atmosphere! The decor is classy with wonderful green color and natural lighting from windows.SERVICE: Service was fast when taking our orders and diligent in refilling our waters.ORDERS:- Pineapple fried rice was great and good presentation.- Butterfly Fish is the must I love a crispy fish and a thai style dressing with mango on the top.- Crying Tiger Classic staple in Thai cuisine, which was executed well! Loved the spiciness of the dry chili sauce and the savory texture from sauce. The beef was juicy but not too dry meat. Very filling and soft to chew.- Three kind of mushroom salad. They served as a warn dish texture was great and tasty.- Poh tak Seafood. The broth was so good and feel thai tasty spicy soup.RATING: Overall, my colleagues and I enjoyed the venue, and we were surprised by the portion quantities. Would come here again when Im in Manteca!PARKING: Easy to park as parking lot is front of the restaurant. The price is reasonable, good service, good aesthetics, and high quality food and presentation, this place is good for you!

Ernies Food & Spirits
1351 N Main St, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
Ernies Food & Spirits is an oasis in the restaurant desert that is Manteca. My husband and I have lived out here for a little over a year, and because there is nothing but chain restaurants, pizza joints or Mexican food everywhere you look in this town I was really surprised to discover that we had this type of greatness practically around the corner from our house.Discovered this place via the San Joaquin Magazine, Im vegetarian and the rave reviews about the Vegan Wings prompted my visit. I was not disappointed! We started off by ordering a few cocktails. I had the Truffletini (not as good as I thought it was going to be) and My husband had an Old Fashioned.Next came the 5 Onion Soup and well, that was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! I can see myself popping in for that soup often! The soup also went perfectly with my St. George Spirits Breaking & Entering Bourbon. (B&E is my favorite, its made in the SF Bay Area, and I usually cant get it outside of Oakland or Alameda)Our Entrees were FANTASTIC! My husband had the special (Duck with Risotto) and I had the Seafood Fettuccine minus the Sea Food. (the Chef gave me perfectly cooked veggies instead) We ended our food fest with, in my opinion, the only dessert that ever needs to be served. Creme Brulee. The service was fantastic! Thank You Laci for being so wonderful!Highly recommend this place!

Franks Downtown Caf
162 N Maple Ave, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
The one star is for the taste of the food which was pretty good but the service is what killed it. The gal they have working should not be a waitress...no interaction with any of the guests, it took a while to place our order, the food came out didnt check to see if we needed anything had to flag her down when we got our dishes and they were just kinda thrown at us like its expected that people should come there. But people go to lil personable places in downtown for the ambiance which is lacking and of course the service of mom and pop shop restaurants. This was our first and last time there because theres so many other places that we as customers dont have to go out of our way to try to get the server to talk and check on you...I think collectively between myself and my boyfriend we said thank you so many times it got tiring..woulda loved to hear that from the staff once..also you gotta ask for refills of course. Save your money or get togo if you must try them.

Mamas and the Tapas Caf
1317 Historical Plaza Way, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
After reading all of the reviews for this place I had to give it a try. Let me first start with the negative since they are few and easily fixed. I went here with my wife, daughter, father, brother, and sister. When we first sat down there was no silverware at the table and we had to ask for them otherwise I dont believe we would have received any. Also, it took a bit before anyone came by to take our orders and we were clearly ready with our selections. Thats about it. Our server was very polite, I just wish we would have seen him more often and that he would have told us his name but he was definitely a bright spot in a fairly busy night. The positives have to begin with the food. It was all delicious. We had the sweet plantains, the Caribbean burger (and sliders), cannon balls, chicken flautas, beef empanadas, a pork empanada, the cubana sandwich, and coconut rice. So there was a bit of a wait but that was perfectly acceptable to us because of the amount of food we ordered. It all came out to us hot and fresh. I would recommend the sweet plantains the highest since we had 4 orders and nothing left of them by the end of the night. I do not recommend the black beans though, way too watery.I enjoyed the atmosphere, it is pretty casual and non intimidating which is always great in my opinion. The menus were simple and easy to read. The Caribbean Rum Punch was the only alcoholic drink we ordered and my wife really enjoyed it. I had to drive so I just had Dr. Pepper. It is a cool little place, and I could see us coming here 1 to 2 times a month because it is a bit on the pricier side of things. I would say that most menu items warrant the cost, since the sauces are brilliant and we left full and satisfied. One last note though is I wish they had more dessert options! Thank you for reading and happy eating!

Country Skillets

Well, My family and I went in this morning for breakfast, they were very busy. In the past we have really enjoyed going here. On this occasion it seems they only had two servers working the dining area. The servers were very apologetic about the wait. I ordered the garden omelet with fruit and sour dough toast. The lady asked if wanted salsa and I replied yes. The omelet came along with the other two guest meals but without the salsa, fruit or toast. The other guest in our party had nearly finished their meals as I was waiting for the salsa to eat my omelet. I felt I would have eaten mine before the salsa or toast would come. So I waited, it finally did come and the server was once again very apologetic. Well we ate and the cook who checked me out asked how everything was and I said it has been better in the past he said im sorry, I will give you a little discount. So that was a nice effort to make things right. The toast was very hard and difficult to eat. Well my issue is, now (nearly 6 hours later) I have had the worst stomach ache and heartburn since this eating my meal. I very rarely get heartburn so it is very unusual. I have been taking tums and pepto-bismol all day (with little relief) and have had severe stomach issues all day. Im not really sure what it was because the other two in my party seem to be fine. Something about that meal has not agreed with me at all. Needless to say I am disappointed. I dont know if corners were cut to account the for massive delay in the dining area but it will be really difficult for me to want to return. :(

Luus Chicken Bowl

I needed to use the bathroom and had considered ordering something after as a courtesy. However, the smell of their bathroom, reminiscent to me of rotten flesh and old fish, nearly had me vomit into their sink. I needed to come out into the dining room three times for fresh air, and even then, I had to use their napkins to dry my hands, rather than their air blower. My boyfriend smelled it from where is was waiting in the dining room. He told me the smell was MOLD and MILDEW (A smell he knew well from the rundown house he used to live in) and said that it was clear the smell was all over the place (I was a little nose blind from spending 6 minutes sitting in the worst of it). This made the thought of eating there downright horrifying. They need to soak the place in bleach and tear up the carpets ASAP, before someone calls the health department. Honest, theyre lucky Im only writing a very warning review rather than calling them myself. Hopefully the owners read this and change their cleaning habits before someone isnt as nice. If you get sick after eating here, now you know why. 1 star for just the blatant disregard for cleanliness, health, and safety.

King Ph Vietnamese Cuisine

This was my first time trying Pho and though I havent tried Pho from anywhere else, I have a feeling its one of the best around. Great flavor and very fresh garnishes. I would give them 5 stars but although the place got pretty busy while we were there, a customer grabbed a chair from another table and sat right in the way of the entrance/exit. The other door was blocked off. We all had to squeeze by him literally rubbing our butts on his back. He still didnt move. It was a little embarrassing and nothing was done after previous customers had to do the same. There was room for him to sit in a different location but was never asked to move. I would go again as I realize this might not be common. Hopefully theyll open up the other side since the place is already very small. Superb soup!

Mihana Sushi
293 Spreckels Ave, Manteca, CA 95336, United States
Poor customer service. Sushi chef frequently wiped his nose with bare hands without washing them after. He continued to work behind the counter. When this concern was addressed, the waitress became confrontational with us and she argued he only touched the plastic wrapping on the food containers. He even glared at us as the concern was being discussed. In addition, our wasabi had discoloration on the edges from sitting out for a long period of time prior to us arriving. The soup and edamame beans were room temperature when they arrived to our table. To make this situation even more offensive my husband is Japanese from Hokkaido and he was so upset that he vowed to never come here again because it misrepresented the Japanese culture. In Japan, food is prepared like an art piece and cleanliness is high priority. This is far from what we are use to.We normally do not write reviews no matter what type of service we receive, but this experience was too much not to tell others.
