Pieology Pizzeria Panama Lane, Bakersfield, CA
6509 Panama Ln Ste. A-1, Bakersfield, CA 93313, United States
Some say that is establishment lacks the care and quality that is found in most pizza places. This cannot be further than the truth. In the warmth of the bakersfield evening, I walk into pielogy with a mission. I must order a pizza for my gluten free/dairy free girlfriend.I approach the pieology employee with a smile as I hold a sheet of instructions resembling the hand writing of golem himself. I read the first line and pray for peace. Can I have the gluten-free crust? I spoke with a hinge of fright. Is that allergy or a preference? He says. The words rung in my ear like a beam on a railroad track being crushed by a train. What do I say? What do I do? I know the answer, it was indeed a preference, but my inner demon grabbed hold of my tongue and muttered three words that would change my expirence entirely. Its an allergy. I said, lying without my own consent. Then, like a bat in the night, the two employees at the desk jumped into action. The girl starts vigorously cleaning the stove and scraping any trace of a previously made pizza. The man gets new gloves and opens a brand new bag for every item. He caresses the dough as if he is a masseuse trained to massage a feather in the wind.As they remove any contamination within a ten block radius, I look at myself in the reflection of the window. Why did I say allergy? Just to watch them suffer? To amuse my desire to be special and quirky? I do not know. The care and quality at pieology is, without a doubt.....Biased towards people with allergies! Like bruuuuh everytime I order online, they replace my bbq sauce with ranch or something. Want pepperoni? Your not allergic? Lets just throw some anchovies on there!! ??
Tofu House Korean B.B.Q.
5550 California Ave Ste 106, Bakersfield, CA 93309, United States
Best restaurant for vegetarian options. Food was amazing! Reminded me of vegetarian restaurants Ive had in LA ?. $$ loved the price for all the food I got! I will definitely be eating here more often!
Mango Haus
700 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93301, United States
Restaurant offers breakfast and lunch, no dinner. An odd mix of menu items, lots of vegetarian entrees with very little meat protein. If that works for you then this is a good place to eat; as the house restaurant of a Best Western it struck me as unusual.Service was excellent and my waitress was very personable and professional.
Guapos Tacos
2517 White Ln C, Bakersfield, CA 93304, United States
Ordering through apps is SUPER risky and you will not get a refund if they mess your order up. Even if you call them :/ dont do it. They just drained my walletSo get this....We ordered on uber eats, the food that turned up at my door was something I was highly allergic to that had someone elses name on the bagWhen we called them, they wouldnt even give us a refund and said that they gave our uber eats order to a door dasher and when we told them we didnt order through door dash they just saidwelp sorry about that bye.Bruh...Kinda made me sad cause its my favorite restaurant in Bakersfield, but Im like really poor and I cant afford to keep having my money taken away when I want to treat myself :( i saved a months worth of tips at my job just so I could afford the item I wanted. Im gonna scrounge up some coins and see if I can get something at tacobell or jack in the box across the street.Maybe this would have been avoidable if I ordered in person but I dont have a vehicle and rise the buss everywhere so ordering through apps helps me access the restaurants across town that would take a while to get to.Dont make the mistake that I did and try to show more kindness in your life than these people did. It makes a difference for people like me.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
9000 Ming Ave Ste H4, Bakersfield, CA 93311, United States
While it has a lot of vegetarian options, there are fewer meat options. The building of flavors seems more focused on their use of sauces. I had the Menage A Trois and was disappointed. Small meat portions and very sweet. I didnt feel it was a $10 sandwich. They place the cheese on the bottom of the sandwich. As a result, we found the ingredients sliding out of the sandwich. Afterwards, I had the thought we should have went to Jersey Mikes instead. The menu is a bit confusing and apparently there are more sandwiches listed on signs near the restrooms. The store has 7 tables so seating is limited. However, we didnt have trouble finding a place to sit, which is unusual for a new restaurant opening in Bakersfield, where it is usually crowded after opening. Google Maps lists it where the old Basket Robbins used to be, but you find on the other side near Color Me Mine and Cold Stone Creamery.
Yard House
10308 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93311, United States
Birthday at the Yard House.Note: we came during COVID time and Kern County is in the Red Tier so no bar, 25% inside capacity but outdoor seating available. So I knew the wife and friends wanted to go to the Yard House, which is great, I've wanted to try it again. Previously I've had a small lunch there and wanted to try the dinner.I recommended making reservations. The wife called and they said it was first come, first served. Not what you want to hear when seating is limited, but roll the dice and see what happens. When we got there they have a check in area up front in the doorway where they ask the number in your party and they offered: inside dining, rear patio dining, front outdoor dining (tent in the front) or first available. I opted for rear patio or inside. They take your phone number and you wait. (I actually prefer the text method instead of the old pager. I mean why not? I always have my phone on.)Anyways we didn't wait long and we got the text and we were seated outside on the patio in a booth. Nice.Appetizers were great! We had Poke Nachos and Wings. Not a huge fish/poke person but they were good! We got a mix of Korean BBQ and Lemon Pepper wings. Also really good!I had the BBQ Bacon Burger. It's a 1/2 lbs. burger. It tasted pretty good. Won't lie. It's no gourmet burger. It's a solid BBQ Burger but the patty was very out of the packaging and the bun was too small for the meat. The bacon and bbq sauce were excellent. Like I said this was a SOLID burger. Just nothing spectacular. The wife had the Fish and Chips. And good gravy they give a ton of fish! It's huge. Look at the picture. She barely made a dent in her dinner. But she said it was good. Also she upgraded to the Truffle Fries! Totally worth it!I had the Long Beach Tea. It was a nice drink. But it didn't pack any punch too it. I'm guessing it's their version of a Long Island. It was tasty and looked pretty, but didn't hit me like a good Long Island should. So...make them stronger Yard House.Service: shout out to our server Steph. Her shirt said trainee but she was a pro. Took out orders in a timely fashion, refilled waters, checked on us. Special Note: she over heard my wife and friends talking about my birthday and asked us what kind of birthday dessert I wanted. No one at the table asked her but she picked up on that. Good job Steph! Also between the other servers dropping off our food, the bussers and management clearing our table (that's a real good sign of service) even the front door staff saying hello and goodbye. This is the kind of dining experience you want!I would recommend coming to eat here!
Pieology Pizzeria Calloway Drive, Bakersfield, CA
5503 Calloway Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93312, United States
This rating is not for the food but for an employee. We have been to this pieolagy about 1-2 times a month since it has opened and normally we love it. However, the past two times we have been here one of the new employees has been very rude and unsanitary. I always get an after bake on my pizza and when I do this they ask what number is on the pizza so they know what pizza to put the after bake on. When I asked what number my pizza had on it she told me thats not for you. When I saw the number and told my husband what it was so he could let the cashier know she told use you dont need that, thats not for you. I informed her I wanted an after bake on my pizza and she said she would take care of it. When we got our pizzas there was no after bake on my pizza, instead it was on my daughters pizza. They remade my daughters pizza but what happened with the messed up pizza? She added more toppings on the pizza and took it on the patio and ate it. This time when we came in she was again rude. She spent about 5 minutes restocking the line that didnt need to be restocked when there were about 6 pizzas waiting to be made. She started on my husbands pizza and half way through walked away to go to the back for god knows what. When she came back she didnt have anything with her then proceeded to work on my husbands pizza. When he stopped her and asked her to change her gloves she rolled her eyes and ripped her gloves off. I have worked in the restaurant industry for a very long time, I know that you can not walk around touching everything then touch the food! Disgusting! Someone needs to do something about her before she makes someone sick. My husband told the cashier that the second pizza needs an after bake. When the cashier asked what number the second pizza was she told him it doesnt matter. This time we ignored her and told him what number is was and guess what... they didnt mess up our order. Amazing how that works right!
Taco Bell
2676 Mount Vernon Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93306, United States
I come here to eat often during my breaks from work, or when I have time between my classes. Service is okay, not the best, but also not the worst. There has only been one employee that has annoyed me. There was an instance where I dropped one of my tacos, and one of the employees wanted to make me another one, but I said it was still edible so it was fine, that was a kind gesture from an employee though. And this might sound rude or heartless, but if youre going to dine here be prepared to be approached by occasional homeless person often. They are the rather rude homeless people that wont leave you alone until you give them something, whether it be a couple of cents, or a bite of your burrito. Today, I was approached by one who wanted me to give him change, I told him I use a debit card, and then he proceeded to ask for an item on my plate, which I eventually gave him, and he simply walked off, no thank you, or even a gesture of gratitude. Now, Im fine with that. This whole area in Bakersfield is notorious for that. But, when youre trying to eat out to get away from people, it can get really annoying. I believe only dining customers should be allowed inside, after all we are paying customers, and should have the right to be left alone if pleased. Granted, this has nothing to do with the employees, staff, or food. Food is usually always accurate, but the drive thru gets clogged often, making it hard even for the dining customer to park in the cramped parking space. Overall, I like the Taco Bell on Oswell a little better for the fact that it is usually emptier, but the one on Vernon is the one closest to me.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
3705 Columbus St, Bakersfield, CA 93306, United States
I went in to see if I could get the kid special they offer on the app since I was using an EBT card to pay and the site doesnt offer that option they state you must go in store. Since that was the case I figured you could walk in and get the same special but I was told no the man behind the counter would not do it. Wasnt an offer of anything close or to say you could get this pizza size or thin crust or anything like they use to have a $5 special before. He just had the attitude of I dont want to help you in anyway. So I did the best I could and we missed out on an extra pizza. Had he offered any kind of assistance to get me close even if I had to pay just a few bucks more I would have given a 5 star review. Now I wonder if they have the same attitude making the pizzas and if the pizza could have been better. Ill be adding more toppings at some since these pizzas seem thin on toppings. Thanks my friend.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
2807 N Chester Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93308, United States
Get the thin crust pizza! it is so good. I was skeptical about pizza that you bake yourself. it seemed odd to me because its new to me. Ive always gotten pizza already baked. Im so glad I tried it, I only wish I would have tried it earlier. Aside from being delicious I like it because I can bring it home, have a few drinks then bake it fresh when Im ready. I dont have to worry about drinking and driving to go get food. and delivery can get expensive with other pizza places. This solves the problem. The place was also very clean and I gotta say the people are genuinely nice and friendly, I highly recommend this place.
