Dos Coyotes Border Cafe
5450 Sunrise Blvd SUITE F, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
I wanted to share my experience at this location.I have been eating here for years, it has gone up and down with some experiences I have had, BUT this last visit was fantastico! When I walked in, they said Hello!. Saying hello can change a persons whole perspective on service, which it did mine. There was one gentleman ahead of me, but, noticed a young lady, a possible assistant manager. She waved me down and said What are you going to have today. Wow! I felt like royalty! Of course I explained, she was quick to voice the kitchen area chefs and relayed my needs. I then started the process with the young lady at the register and she formally took my order. During the payment, one of the chefs even flagged me down and stated, What type of meat?, I said Carne Asada. They were on it! Once I put my wallet in my pocket and started walking, my food was ready! Excellent teamwork for sure from this place. Now, that being said, I recognized what the manager was doing, she was expediting to be sure that I was taken care of as she noticed a couple behind me and another hungry customer coming in behind them. Great work! The manager didnt let me grab the plate yet as she offered to take it out for me. Me being great with customer service as well, said I got it, its fine. My main reason for doing that, is I wanted her to be able to assist the other flock of customers coming in. That is just how I am...Customer service is my thing as well and I recognized that. Well done again Dos!Later, after grabbing all my good salsa, etc., I then sat down and noticed a few other things. No trash cans, why, because they got it! You dont need to throw anything out, its all done for you. I felt as if I was in my own house with compassionate, hard working people to take care of yuh! Now, the tables and floors were immaculate, clean and neat. Great job Dos!In closing: You dont feel like just another customer. You are treated as a guest, in which ALL restaurants, even fast food, should be treating customers. We arent just a person coming in demanding things, we are here to pay and have a great meal, service experience.Plusses about this place:+Great service+Clean and neat environment+Food will fill belly and very healthy to boot+Prices are reasonable, based on the ingredients and freshness of everything.+Staff is very cordial and supportive as a team and to the customers.I give very high praises to the franchisee owner, if that is the situation. Great job and leadership across the board.Thank you again Dos Coyotes!

Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
7528 Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This location ripped us off. They said they honor $10 Tuesdays over the phone, but when my fiance went to pick them up, they said they wouldnt honor the deal. He was frazzled and paid for it anyway. I was furious, called corporate, and they assured me theyd return the overcharge. Nothing has happened yet and its been a few weeks. The Madison and Garfield location is much better. The food appears fresher and the place smells cleaner than this location. I wont be eating at Papa Murphys if they dont refund the theft from this location, but either way, Im steering clear of this location from here on out.UPDATE: After dealing with corporate, I only received one response to my compliant in the form of an insulting and rude email from this stores manager. As a result, we dont spend a penny at any Papa Murphys anymore. Theres no accountability, this store could overcharge your card and nobody in corporate will care. But if you like Papa Murphys, theres a way better location 2 blocks away, food is fresher too.

Taco Bell
7730 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
Used to be my beloved Taco Bell to go to right near my house. Then boom, as soon as new management came in all the good workers left because the lady running it now is horrible. So of course they had to hire new people, which now its been around 6 months since this happened. You would think the workers picked it up by now and learned at least some of the tricks, but I swear its like she tells them to do bad on purpose because tortillas are stale all the time now so clearly she has no desire to restock fresh food. And everytime I go in there shes once again refilling her Diet Dr. Pepper, everyrime I swear to God like that cant be healthy. Like how do you make a cheese quesadilla and forget the sauce and cheese?? No bean burrito has been even half way full since so I had to stop ordering that and its my favorite item. And so simple! Its a bean burrito. If you ask me the manger is the only real problem with it but still now I have to find a new taco bell to live at because she cares more about refilling her diet soda. DO NOT waste your money here!

Pizza Guys
7340 Greenback Ln Suite # 2, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
I called Pizza Guys a few days ago to place an order for delivery and when I called, they asked for my phone number, confirmed my delivery address and then asked what I would like to order, I placed my order and I was very clear on the size of the pizza I wanted and what kind, I ordered a few other items and he gave me my total and told me it would be about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes for them to deliver, so instead I said that I was going to pick it up because it was too long. The guy I spoke with told me that in that case it would be about 25 to 30 minutes for it to be ready. When it was time to pick up the pizza, I go to pick up my pizza and the employee brings me my order and its completely wrong. I ordered a large, they made a medium, I ordered a pizza that was half garlic chicken half pepperoni, they made it all garlic chicken. So when I told him thats not what i ordered, he tells me thats what they have as the order. I told him again that they made my order wrong and be showed me the receipt that he printed and tells me again well thats what we have as the order. So I told him that whoever took my order must have taken it down incorrectly and he proceeds to tell me again that its what they have as the order and gives me the receipt for me to see for myself. As if the person who took my order couldnt have possibly taken it down incorrectly. He kept repeating himself as if hes trying to convince me that they couldnt have made a mistake instead of apologizing and offering to remake the order. So I asked him if he would like to listen to the recording of the phone call when I placed my order and he said, and I quote actually yes. (I record all my phone calls, and it comes in very handy in situations like these). So I get my phone, turn on the recording on speaker and hand him the phone, he listened to almost the whole recording before he handed the phone back and asked me if I wanted them to remake the pizza and said that because its going from a medium to a large that the price will go up and it will be a 10 minute wait. I told him thats fine because Im not feeding one or 2 people, so I needed the large that I ordered. He didnt even offer to keep the price as a medium for the inconvenience and the hassle and they took 20 minutes to make it anyways. He didnt even apologize once for that. He had an attitude and acted as if Im the one in the wrong. Smh. Pizza Guys does not know how to take care of their customers, this is not the first pizza guys that Ive encountered that has made a mistake and refused to own up to it. Its almost as if they choose to hire people who lack customer service skills.

Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
6456 Tupelo Dr Suite A-2, Citrus Heights, CA 95621, United States
Coming from someone who worked here for 2 weeks, this is not the kind of place you want to eat at. The sanitization standards are non existent. The front sink that is most accessible to wash your hands does not work, none of the employees wash their hands and no one wore gloves when handling the food. A lot of the pizza's that would be made in advance like the cowboy would be in that freezer for way past their expiration date and would still be used to give out to customers. The dough itself has a 3 day expiration date when after that 3 days you're supposed to throw it out, but a lot of that dough would still be used to make pizzas and be given out to customers on a regular basis to “save money”. The dishwasher cleaning standards are non existent as well, with the sink filled with soap being completely filled with gunk and filth and not be changed throughout the entire day, none of the bowls, containers, knives, or mixing equipment was ever truly cleaned. The sanitation buckets are supposed to be changed every 3 hours due to debris and food getting inside of it but those buckets would stay there the whole day and get extremely dirty and gross making the countertops extremely dirty and never clean. And last but not least, the reason I quit was because I had found meatballs in the bottom of the food drawer that had been 2 months expired and had mold caked all over them. When I asked the general manager of the store where I should throw them away, he said to just cut off the parts with mold and leave the rest. Someone actually bought those meatballs that day and to that person I'm sorry I wasn't able to warn you about it and I hope you're doing okay. In all this restaurant is a major health hazard and should not remain open.

Sushi Star
7777 Sunrise Blvd #2000, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This was the most disappointing sushi restaurant and dining experience Ive had in Sacramento. For context, there were 4 of us, my wife and two children. My wife is a career bartender/server/trainer at a steakhouse, so were super chill and easy with servers and restaurants. We get it, bad nights happen. But they can be corrected by a little bit of hospitality and the eventual arrival of good food. There will be none of that here. For the tl;dr - Drive a mile up the street to Bonsai Sushi, youll get better service, MUCH larger portions, and better food. The whole experience started with red flags. The restaurant was full so we sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef didnt acknowledge us, there was none of the usual hospitality one would expect for sitting at the bar. The servers were very invested in moving my family from the bar to the table, which is fine. Mind you, we eat out at sushi a lot, sitting at the bar is no big deal... but fine, all good.We ordered our appetizers, food, and drinks. Some appetizers arrived, some didnt. Pretty sure one of them got shipped to another table in the chaos. The other tables order got to us like 20-30 minutes later. After the first touch, the servers wouldnt make eye contact with me. All I wanted was to order a second beer, and it wasnt like I was slamming them down. Eventually I was able to eye one into coming over and I ordered another beer, at this point I also reminded them of the missing apps. That was legit like 45+ minutes later. The restaurant was churning out to go orders while we sat waiting, along with other the customers. (Recommendation: Quote longer to-go times and take care of the house first.)Slightly over an hour after ordering (for SUSHI!) our food arrived. The hand roll wasnt a cone, looked nothing like the picture, it was a small roll in crispy seaweed like you would buy at the store, not soft, and it was a roll! A tiny roll! Like the size of your finger and thumb together. It was SMALL! Which was a theme for the night. As our sushi rolls started arriving they too were small, super tiny. Yet the prices were full on Mikuni prices. And by small I mean between the size of a quarter and a half dollar. So small that one of my 11-13 year old girls could have polished one alone and still been hungry. My wife opted to not eat so the kids could get enough food. (and I didnt clue in until after cuz I too was ravenous...dont judge me!) None of the rolls looked like the pictures. The food was alright but the wait, the portion size, the price, the service, and the experience... It was terrible~ We will never go back.Look, 1.5 miles (5 min) up Sunrise is a place called Bonsai Sushi. Its amazing. The portions are the same price but like 3x the size. The food is delicious. The servers are friendly and take care of you. Go there. Skip this place.

Yummy Tummy
7967 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
Absolutely amazing! They cook everything fresh and it's absolutely cooked to perfection and delicious. Very nice married couple own it. It's just them at the moment so order ahead if you're in a hurry. Our food came pretty quickly but if there was a line it may take a bit. Let me tell you it's well worth it. My boyfriend got the garlic chicken sandwich with fries and LOVED it. I am vegetarian and tried the grilled veggie kabob platter. The seasoning on the veggies is mouthwateringly good. Kabob plates come with rice, a small portion of green salad and homemade hummus dip and pita bread. I got a small side of tzatziki. That tzatziki is hands down the best. Fries, rice, salad, all delicious. Owners take pride in getting traditional spices from overseas, organic veggies whenever possible and opt to pay a bit more for the right kind of produce that is flavorful and let me tell you as a foodie I can certainly taste and appreciate the difference it makes! Wonderful people, wonderful food, go and see them or door dash them! Don't forget the baklava when you do. This is no ordinary baklava I promise you. I don't even typically like baklava but this stuff is nothing short of magical!

Panchito Mexican Restaurant
7683 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
This gonna be my new go-to I think. Back in the day, I thought Betos on El Camino was the sheet. Then the old Dairy Queen on Auburn Blvd turned into a Betos and I felt blessed (live close). Then it just started to go downhill. More expensive, and less quantity (quality consistent. Then I started going to that place qcross from the former Sylvan Middle school (Gilbertos), which, basically has the same menu. But after being open awhile, your basic bc burrito started feeling more like a pinner as the price just kept going up. They still got a lock on the sour cream-based salsa though (no match...yet, besides Betos). Anyways, Panchitos has a quality bc burrito, as in home made beans and tortilla like the ones on the street, for less money and is delish.places. Otherplaces are hitting like $7,$8 or even $9 which seems really high. I like the way they make the rice (my wife not so much), but shes hard to please, Asian (rice eater, lol), but loves the 3 street taco plate (I gotta admit, it was good, were not talking about three taquitos from a fryer; that meet was juicy, seasoned and flavorful). Nicer in-dining, with good A/C and the staff has been insanely friendly the three times Ive been in there. I like taking my family there. Its chill. Staff is chatty and smiley,, it almost feels like family, Welcoming. Looking forward to exploring the menu.

Tea It
8516 Auburn Blvd suite a, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, United States
After driving around for about an hour because the two bubble tea places we tried to visit were closed early for some reason, we ended up here at Tea It!We ordered the passion fruit slushie with boba, and the 50/50 fruit freeze which had mango freeze on top, vanilla ice cream in the middle, and pineapple freeze at the bottom. I really loved the 50/50 freeze the most! The fruit freezes were super refreshing, and the flavors were really bold and it tasted a lot like real fruit, just in an ice form! Ive heard that Gunthers ice cream was really popular, and there happened to be Gunthers vanilla ice cream in the freeze as well. My first impression of the ice cream was pretty good. It was very creamy, but I couldnt really taste the vanilla in the ice cream. It did pair very well with the two different freezes and made a perfect and refreshing, creamy, rich bite! However, I wasnt a huge fan of my drink because I really wasnt into the bits of passion fruit seeds, and they are really crunchy and slightly sour. The boba was also slightly undercooked, and some of the boba were really hard, but some were perfectly fine. The slush itself was very tasty and refreshing though!Overall, this place was really nice, and Im just happy they were open because we drove an hour to find a place that was open! Anyways, I loved the interior, and the staff were very nice, and the food was pretty good!
