Natura Bowls
4382 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
Usually I come here for juices. Sometimes Açai bowls. But for some reason whenever I go to get the same juice it always taste different like they arnt using exact measurements. This time when I tried the happy belly juice It tasted literally exactly like orange juice. I couldn't taste any of the other ingredients that I usually taste with the drink. Usually there's a little bit of spiciness too but I feel kind of got cheated this time. If I wanted orange juice I would've gone to the grocery store and bought it for way less lol. Was just trying to do something good for my body. Kind of a shame

The best breakfast burritos in the world, well at least SoCal. The owner works here with the employees. The workers are loyal, seem to love what they do and work their butts off during busy times.Call ahead to place an order or simply eat there at the small restaurant area. I live the vegetarian breakfast burrito, add avocado. The locals keep this place busy at all times because they live the consistency and great food.
Pasty Kitchen
3641 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
Say, that bloke looks mighty pasty-faced.You tosser! Thats because he was gobsmacked by the meat pasties at The Pasty Kitchen. Huzzah! When I think of pie, I think of meat, dont you? After a rousing session on the bog, I was hungry for some savory pies. Empanadas? Been there, done that. Samosas? Uh, no. Siopao? No, Ill pass. British pasties? Yeah, why not? I rang a bird, picked her up in my Union Jack mini cooper at her flat & we motored on down to The Pasty Kitchen for some brilliant pasties. Thats no hairy dog bollocks, either!A small little shop, I already had in mind ordering 1 small beef pasty, 1 small chicken pasty & a side of chicken gravy.Hearty, hearty, hearty. Did I say hearty? If these were small, Id hate to tackle large. With a heaping helping of potatoes & carrots (What? No peas?) to go along with meat, the pasties were cheap & filling. Of the two, I preferred the chicken over the beef. The beef pasty consisted of seasoned ground beef, whereas the chicken was made up of thick chunks of white meat. The dough wasnt flaky, as say a croissant, because it needs to hold up to all the ingredients. I must vehemently say - pay for the side of gravy! Its totally worth it! Otherwise, methinks the pasties may be a tad bit dry without it. My palate has always preferred chicken/turkey gravy over beef, as chicken/turkey is generally lighter, creamier & less salty. Whether you smother or dip, its all good. Everything is better with sauce. I dont go a day w/o slathering Awesome sauce all over me ;p BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAThe Pasty Kitchen also offers vegetable & fruit pasties. For those on the go, frozen pasties are available & buy four, get one free!Service was good. The lady obliged me when I wanted to take pics of the pasties I just bought. No indoor seating, but there are 3 picnic tables including umbrellas to dine at.Parking by way of street in the front & a shared private lot in the rear. The Pasty Kitchen, I am aghast at how cheap & filling your pasties are! As I dug into each bite, I envisioned myself as a filthy British chimney sweeper during tea time, savoring a proper meat pasty and recalling the jolly good time at the pub last fortnight. Without nannies flying around on an umbrella, of course ;p Inexpensive, satisfying & stick to your ribs good, The Pasty Kitchen is a great place to go when youre looking for a snack or a meal.Ready! Steady! Go to The Pasty Kitchen in Los Alamitos!Highly recommend! Pip, pip, cheerio!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
California Cocina
10900 Los Alamitos Blvd #101, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
It was a cold and rainy Sunday Feb 9, 2020 afternoon, when we decided to visit the California Cocina. We live about 3 miles away, and have passed this location many times, but never stopped. This time, as we got out of the car, at the small parking lot, with our umbrella, we closed it before entering the corner restaurant. We walked up to the Public Counter and I ordered the special of the day..Sea Bass and my wife ordered the Shrimp dinner. Both were excellent, the dish included tortillas and two side orders. The order taker was friendly and answered our questions as to what was included in the order. He gave us a number to put on the table, and brought the food to us. We got a visit from the chef, he checked on us to see, if every thing was ok. We told him, it was great ! . We noticed a salsa bar with three different strength salsas and other condiments like onions and Cilantro. We took advantage of the onions and the mild salsa. It was mild for my Albuquerque New Mexico ( a Green Chile eater from birth ) wife, but it was hot for me ( my Mom did not cook with Chile ) . We noticed the tables are cleaned, immediately when the patrons leave the table. Everything was clean. The soda fountain included a couple of extra different drinks...like Agave Vanilla soda...which i got, it was good. There was a single old timer adjacent to us, who over heard our conversation. He knew it was our first time there. He comes to this restaurant often and advised us to get the business card that get a punch out every time you order a meal, when you order the 10th meal, one of the meals is free. Dont forget that punch out card, if you are going to be a regular at this restaurant, like us.I gave the casual, order at the counter type Mexican food restaurant a five...in this restaurant category.
Pho 99 Plus
3620 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
My retired parents have been eating here almost everyday, and believe me, my Asian mom is especially picky about her Asian food dining experience. When I was in town, I went with them and saw why theyve made Pho99 Plus their regular dining experience. The pho or noodle soup is served in a large bowl with tasty broth and plenty of meat and vegetables. My folks especially like the combo pho which combines eye round steak, brisket, and meatball. They also serve tasty chicken wings, from 6 to 50 pieces, slathered with seasoned barbecue sauce. My dads favorite is the rice plate beef and stir fried tofu onions and broccoli. For beverage, they can serve you Vietnamese iced coffee or boba bubble tea.The owners mom who helps out with the business confessed to me that the pandemic has slowed business down and that theyre in survival mode now, which is a shame since it doesnt have to be that way since you can eat there now. They have COVERED PATIO DINING, which is nice on a breezy summer evening. Or, if you just want to do take out, they have that too. They do all the regular e-food take out apps also.Pho99 is on Katella Ave, right next to McDonalds, but for about the same cost, you can get a better tasting and much healthier meal at Pho99. McDonalds has enough of your money, so support small business, the back-bone of America.Pho99
Thailusion
10900 Los Alamitos Blvd # 131, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
My buddy and I went here to try a new place and wanted some thai so chose this place in lieu of Coconut Rabbit in the area. We went there on our lunch hour so time was limited. For starters, our sweet and sour soup took 15 min to come out. Like really, how hard is it to take a ladle and pour in a small bowl. I guess there was a large group who phoned ahead and they got there by the time we got our soup. Thinking, ok, they are just adjusting. Nope, took another 15 min after the soup for my friend to get his thai fried rice. Yup, 30 minutes after ordering to get fried rice with chicken in it. So there we are, him with his food and me now waiting for my yellow chicken curry. I kept being told one more minute, three more minutes, one more minute. At this point, frustrated, I ask again and was told another minute. Another nearly 15 min later, my food comes out, and our lunch hour is almost over and my friends food is getting cold cause he was polite to not eat while I waited. When the food finally comes out, it is like really, this took this long. It was a small bowl of curry with steam rice. At this point, we had been there 40 min.As if it couldnt get any better, my friend went to pay the bill of $21.50 with his cash and my card. He gives her a $20 and tells her $12 cash and rest on card. She ridiculously charges $1.50 on my card and takes the cash. Now, I have to go get up myself and it takes another 10 min to sort out. On top if, I see a little gem while leaving the table to go to front..... my plate had a big chip in the corner. Awesome ending I suppose. The whole time the staff was not unapologetic other than the useless so sorry. We finally left the place and it is 1p and have to rush back.I dont care if this place might make food that gives you goose bumps or not, the experience was the worst ever I have experienced. Getting a fresh warm pizza from Little Caesars is a more satisfying experience than this place. The couple before us complained about their 25 min wait for their food and the poor lady next to use who got there about 12:15 and on lunch as well, was still waiting for her food when we left.
Shenandoah At the Arbor
10631 Los Alamitos Blvd, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
I am not sure why I kept overlooking Shenandoah when searching for a place to enjoy brunch.Husband reminded me this past weekend and we finally we made it here just a little after they open at 11 am. Such a delight. There are indoor and outdoor seating. Weather was a bit breezy and cool this day, but we opted for outdoor patio seating that is so aesthetically pleasing. Big trees and a beautiful koi pond fill up the patio and make for a very peaceful dining. Love the shady trees. Perfect little secret garden dining around here!First things first, we were served Shenandoahs famous hot apple fritters. So yummy, dusted in powdered sugar and served with a lightly honey-sweetened whipped butter. Pairs well with coffee. To start we ordered some stimulants:artichoke hearts - Butter, Garlic, Wine, Scallions - yummy with fresh rolls. mmmfried green tomatoes - Fried Green Tomatoes, Andouille, Tomato Coulis, Rémoulade - this was a meal in itself! It is very rich in taste and the tomatoes were excellent.Ricks mushrooms - Butter, Garlic, Wine, ScallionsTomatillo Chicken soup - so flavorful. Great with rolls. All this was already a good amount of food, but we then split a crab cake melt - with sides of creole coleslaw and sweet potato fries. (super super tasty and rich. This meal is so filling. You will not need to eat for the rest of the day). I would have loved if there was a handful of arugula in the sandwich to balance out the richness. It was a bit early for adult beverages, but all the rich foods required us to split a glass of wine. We chose an interesting red. They ran out of Taken so they served us an equivalent wine. Good one. After all this we had no room for dessert. (and we also doggy bagged our leftovers. We will need to return and just order some dessert and coffee next time!Service was nice and friendly. Food came out quickly too.Parking: street parking + parking lot next to the patio seating.Bon appetit!
Volcano Burgers
3652 W Cerritos Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
I highly recommend Volcano Burger! This is a small, busy, family style establishment that has been around for a long time. They have a wide variety of items on the menu, such as fried zucchini, fried mushrooms, chili cheese fries, gyros, and so on. Its a big menu! Moreover, their portions are generous, so an order of chili cheese fries, for example, can easily be shared by two persons.I especially enjoy their burgers and fries, which are delicious and unique from other places. Also, if you have an issue, they are very quick to respond, which is always a good sign of a business that cares about their customers experience. For example, I once ordered a bacon cheeseburger with an egg on top, sunny side up (I recommend it!), but the egg was cooked hard. When I brought it to their attention, they immediately fixed it, no questions asked, and even apologized for the mistake.I appreciated the way they handled it and its just one example of why I enjoy supporting this family owned business.Be forewarned though, they are always busy precisely because they are so popular in the local community, so be prepared to wait a little bit, especially using the drive through. However, their food really is worth the wait. If you choose to walk up, there are plenty of spots on the patio where you can sit down and enjoy your meal. These are just some of the reasons why I am comfortable recommending Volcano Burger, especially if youve been looking for a new spot.Volcano Burger definitely provides their customers with a good experience!5 Stars...
Taboon Mediterranean Express
10895 Los Alamitos Blvd, Los Alamitos, CA 90720, United States
I'm so so sorry for all those that miss out on this little gem tucked away in this little strip mall cause you're certainly missing out on some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in ages. Superblylicious!!! The place is small and very unassuming and in fact I thought I had walked in the wrong place if not for the yummalicious smell of the food in the air that had pulled me further in…my son picked this place out but I'd been wanting to try it for several months. I had the Lamb kabab dinner my son had the steak and then ordered a chicken kabab on the side. They were so delicious and tender I will order all 3 again. Yep. All THREE and share. Oh oh…the Garlic potatoes are off the rocker. So Ah-May-Zing! One order is enough for 2 people. But let's talk hummus…seriously let's talk. I love hummus and they do hummus. 5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ for the hummus. So to recap we ordered the kabab dinner which are served over a huge bed of fluffy flavored rice with a grilled onion and tomato, huge serving of hummus ❤️ plus pita bread, salad, pickled spicy onions and the best garlic dip EHVERRRR! They have wraps, bowls and all kinds of items. The food is done right and I'm already planning to go back this week. They have 2 other locations. The one in Long Beach is a larger restaurant that is a larger dine in serves wine and beer. Going to try there too.
Pauls Place

Price gouge much? A club sandwich combo here costs more than Hoffs Hut & Katella Deli $15. Drink not included here either or they forgot. Its a vegetarian Club btw. More lettuce than anything. Very little cold cuts. The morning cooked bacon was good.A cheeseburger combo meal is more expensive then Off the Hook which is $18 with candied bacon, caramelized onions, etc while this is a plain burger. And slow as [censor]. Call in order and only made when you get there. Point of calling in?Please traverse our kitchen bleach and ammonia pooling to enter our finely decored welcoming patio. ??INFLATION PRICE GOUGING. SLOW SERVICE. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE HABIT. BYE PAULS PLACE!!! REVIEWS FROM OTHERS IS BASED ON NOSTALGIA FROM THE OLE.
