Taco Bell
1240 Broadway, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
I am a recent transplant and living in beautiful Placerville.I have family that lives in the bay area. I was on my way back home (early May 2023), from visiting my parents and it took me four hours to get to Placerville, twice as long as what it normally takes. I was hungry and tired, wanted something quick.I will echo what many people have posted here…I stopped at the Placerville Taco Bell for the first time and it was a terrible experience.I ordered a Nachos Bell Grande and a Burrito Supreme.Prices are higher, portions are smaller and the quality is zero. This will be my first and last time at this particular Taco Bell. The young man making my food was more interested in socializing with coworkers than focusing on two food items.I just wanted to get home and unpack, etc.The nachos Bell grande had no beef or tomatoes on it. It was mainly refried beans and a squirt of nacho cheese and sour cream. I didn't ask for no beef or tomatoes. The burrito supreme, just as bad. Mainly refried beans, one tiny piece of beef that was way over seasoned with taco seasoning, two tiny little strips of lettuce, and about two small diced onions and zero sour cream.I called to talk to the manager Brianna. She was very nice and seemed surprised about my botched food order. I only complained about the nachos Bell grande and not the burrito supreme. This seems to be more common in practice what I experienced and based upon numerous reviews I have read, sharing the same experience, and should not be a surprise to a supervisor or manager. But I will give her the benefit of the doubt.I was offered a remake for free, and I seriously doubt I will take up that offer. Also, the food was not quick and took a long time. All fast food restaurants are going downhill rapidly.I do not recommend this Taco Bell.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
65 Fair Ln, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
Order a pizza online. It said it would be ready. 25 minutes after I put the order in. I go 25 minutes later to pick up the pizza and there is someone in front of me ordering their pizza. I am told my pizza will take another 10 minutes. I completely understand places get busy 100%. But I wait for another 15 minutes and three people who walked in after me that did not pre-order the pizza got handed their pizza as I still sat there, waiting one of which was an employee who came in from a break and decided to make her family member who was with her for her break. Two pizzas. The two got the pizza in front of me. I never complain on these things, but I'm sorry that was so wrong!
Pizza Guys
4370 Golden Center Dr Suite F, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
Not only did they get my order wrong, they also got my dads order wrong 3 days after and gave us the wrong pizza. So not only are we angry, another customer is also angry. They are always late, it takes 2 hours to get a pizza. If they werent the only pizza delivery in placerville, they would have ZERO customers. They consistently get orders wrong, but unfortunately they are the only pizza place around. I dont know who needs to be fired, but there needs to be some changes. I am never ordering from here again, Ive had it.

Leave your kids, the suburbs and your worries behind. Out here there's nothing but peace and quiet. Our suite was the gray pine and for inquiring minds, this room overlooks the entrance to the inn. Robes upon request, as are the masseuses. Yes! There is absolutely an on-site spa room where I thoroughly enjoyed a deep tissue massage before a soak in our giant tub.You are in the middle of the country, so Uber and DoorDash are not going to be your best bet. We ended up using a cab service to shuttle us to and from a Wedding we were attending. Keep that in mind!Breakfast is a set menu every morning and it was OK. I'm not big on eggs so I ended up not eating breakfast the second morning. I didn't realize we wouldn't be able to choose what we wanted, and I was secretly disappointed. I wasn't there on the day waffles were being served. lol. There was a shared kitchenette where we could store the drinks we brought, and any food if we wanted to.The bed was of the utmost comfort, which is probably like the most important detail. The shower was just as fabulous as the outdoor tub. The room was incredibly welcoming, serene and very cozy. And the views, just wow. Lovely grounds and a nice welcoming staff.OK, so what's an honest review without some cons right? I mean nothing major, but details matter. With that said, the towels were rough. Literally. Like sandpaper. So do yourself a favor and bring your own bath towels because I think they might not use fabric softener, which is probably to conserve.Getting out of that nice dual head shower or that nice deep, soaking tub and using a rough towel is no fun! Kind of ruins the experience, ya know? Not for nothing but considering I think we paid $500 plus, for our second night there, I mean fluffy towels should be a no-brainer...maybe the towels are better in other rooms. I don't know. All I know is our towels were bad enough for me to mention it.And before anyone, cops, an attitude, I am California born and raised. So fire season is not something I am a stranger to. With that said, I don't know if I needed a post-it on my candle, telling me open flames were prohibited. I get it. We are surrounded by dry timber. I thought the “no open flame policy” was for the outside deck area…I know I'm not the only one who brings travel candles for ambience. And while I did acquiesce to their request on the post-it, obviously, I was slightly annoyed. But since we are guests on someone's property, we threw away our $200 candle.… I'm just kidding! Lol Just a minor nuisance but yeah, leave your candles at home if you're going to stay here. AND yes…my responsible self never left the room with the candle lit. It was blown out anytime we left… I noticed they also unplugged my hair straightener, which, for the record was also off. But something tells me their paranoia about fires is more than the average bear...understandable. 100%… I just admittedly have to say it felt like my mom came into my room while I was gone lol! Leaving notes and unplugging straighteners…mom, that you?Okay I'm done. You'll love it here. Just leave your candles and bring your towels and you'll be good!
Timmys BROWN BAG
451 Main St Suite #10, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
For months I would stop and read the menu but just couldn't bring myself to try one their “concoctions”. That was my loss. I've stepped out of my comfort zone trying several of their master pieces and have not been disappointed once. This place is like the Disney Epcot of sandwich shops. Ready for an American classic, the biscuits and gravy sandwich might be their simplest sandwich but I'm salivating right now just thinking about it. The gravy is top three I've ever had, if not the best. Ready for a trip south of the border, the enchiladas suizas sandwich might be my favorite so far (minus the sour cream). The addition of the chips might seem like something my kid would do, but don't think this sandwich would be same without them. The salsa verde rivals anything I've had at any Mexican restaurant. Looking for something a little on the sweet side then give the honey walnut prawns a try, and continue down the Asian fusion path with the pot sticker cheese burger. I could go on but just know your trip around the culinary world doesn't stop there. Don't like to travel, no problem, the cheese burger will more than get the job done. Fair warning, they have a lot of fun and work their butts off, but on busy days there can be a bit of a wait so take some time and enjoy all Main Street has to offer. It will be more than worth it.
Shilla Teriyaki & Sushi Bar
2942 Paul Bunyon Rd, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
Always great service, no wait, and amazing food! Very worth the extra couple minutes driving out of town! My son loves the chicken teriyaki, and the Mochi they give him for desserts. The staff always make him feel special when we visit. One time he unknowingly left a toy behind, and when we visited a couple weeks later, the server remembered and brought it right out to him and made his day! I love their vegetarian roll and gyoza, but most of all, the spicy Ramen is amazing! I dont usually order Ramen at sushi restaurants, but I do here! Very affordable compared to similar options, and superior service.
Amore Mio Italian Bistro
451 Main St #8, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
As locals of Placerville who frequent local restaurants and shops we were very excited to hear a new restaurant had opened, but very disappointed with our experience there. We saw our waiter twice. Once to order and once when he brought our bottle of wine. Otherwise all of our courses were brought out by bus girls. Who by the way were very pleasant. Our waiter never inquired if we were enjoying our dinner. We also observed two women walking around introducing themselves as owners to surrounding tables. Throughout our whole dining experience they never came over to our table to acknowledge us. We then observed every table receiving a free appetizer the owner or server would just bring it out, out of the blue saying it was on the house in thanks for there patronage and in return that they only ask for a nominal donation to the fire victims. It was a nice gesture and I would have donated. The point is that it was never brought out to us like everyone else. Apparently they did not appreciate our patronage. I ordered the crab fettuccine. Could not find one piece of crab in the sauce. Seemed like the sauce was only flavored with some kind of fish juice to give you the impression there was crab in it. We were looking forward to dessert. While we were dining we saw the owner walking around to the tables describing an assortment of desserts to guests on a tray. We waited a while after our dinner plates were pulled for someone to come to our table to offer us dessert and no one came around. So we asked the bus girl to see the dessert tray and she said we ran out of dessert. You would think the owner would have, maybe at this time, come to our table, introduced herself and let us know they were out. Since she was the one going around from table to table describing the desserts. Still never saw our waiter again. Even though he was there. Oh wait, I was wrong, we did see him again when he brought our check. Then when we put our card out to pay all of the sudden the owner came out of the wood works and swooped up our payment card real quick. Our bill was over 100 dollars for two people with average plate costing 15 dollars in this restaurant. We ordered appetizers, wine, higher priced entrees. We were completely ignored. I would think that being a new establishment the owner should acknowledge all guests that walk in the door. Locals are important to Placerville businesses . We are all not tourists that frequent shops and restaurants here. We are the ones that support you when the tourists go. It was just so strange for us that this is a small intimate restaurant and we spent more than most people there and we were totally ignored. It was almost a slap in the face how friendly the staff and owner were with everyone else and our presence didnt matter. We will give this restaurant one more try cause we truly do want to support local . Hopefully it will be a better experience and it will be another go to restaurant for us with friends and family that come to visit us in this beautiful town we live in!
In-N-Out Burger
225 Placerville Rd, Folsom, CA 95630, United States
Great bang for your buck. Good portions, very tasty burgers, very quick, and very cheap. My experience in time in particular was fun, I didnt realize it, but should have in hindsight, it was Friday at 11pm, peak hour for teens hanging out, and with that came the usual, loud conversations, newest fashion off the hallways, etc etc. Its not a bad thing by any means, I mention, just a bunch of young folk having a harmless and good time. I mention it because I expected the food to take a while as result, but the line moved quickly and the order went through quickly and the food came out quickly. I should also mention that all this was also at the same time as the drive through being completely full and backed up. The staff here handled themselves well, and really, my hats off to you guys, you must have served hundreds of customers in such a short time. And in addition to the quick turnaround, the food was very cheap, and I really enjoyed it!I ate the cheese burger animal style with fries and a drink, a friend of mine ordered a burger with fries and a milkshake, and another friend ordered a double cheese burger animal style with animal fries and soda. We also got the cheese burger with a lettuce bun to have a gluten free option and it was also very tasty.Let me know if you ever get poutine on the menu!
Heyday Caf
325 Main St, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
Placerville California, a.k.a. Hangtown, really has a lot of good restaurants. Most of them are on the main drag through town. This place is one of the absolute best. It is small but cozy, has great service, and the food is extraordinarily wonderful. They offer great salads, wonderful entrées, and believe it or not one of the best vegetarian burgers anywhere I’ve ever been. Many of the professionals that work in the Area diner here for lunch. It’s also a great place to meet friends and have a great conversation while you eat some of the best food anywhere.
In-N-Out Burger
3055 Forni Rd, Placerville, CA 95667, United States
Located just off the main highway with easy access this is definitely convenient and lives up to being ‘In-N-Out' for a quick bite. This iconic California born burger chain has made a name for itself and definitely has its diehard fan base that continue to rave about their offerings, which by the way are limited. A huge part of the success of this family owned operation (yes, all 380+ locations) is keeping it simple and supposedly never changing up the family tested menu. Its the same offering every time, every location and every day. No specials, no seasonal gimmicks and no questionable mystery meat re-configured into hundreds of various concoctions only excessive marketing magic can invent. At In-N-Out what you will find (at all locations) will be a) The Double Double (double patty/double cheese) b) The Cheeseburger (or half a Double Double) c) the Hamburger (see item b without the cheese), and finally French Fries. All burgers include fresh lettuce, a perfect onion slice, fresh tomatoes and their own secret sauce unchanged since the 1940's. Simple as it may be though, quality is key, as all meat utilized is local and hand select choice beef, hand trimmed, never frozen and actually ground by In-N-Out associates. French fries also follow the same path being potatoes are again all hand selected, hand washed, and cut as demand requires for freshness and quality. In-N-Out also prides itself in also being able to offer what the customer requests. If whats on the menu doesnt exactly meet your hunger needs? Then simply switch it up by requesting your own burger creation or taking a glance at the ‘Not so Secret' menu where you can find other fan approved menu mix ups. In-N-Out also offers the standard array of Coca Cola products along with Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry real ice cream shakes (or the Neapolitan, a weird concoction of all three flavors). Two other items that we found to be somewhat unique (or strange) were the container of little green (hot!) Chili peppers located with the self-serve condiments, and the printing of various Bible verses discretely located on cups and wrappers. The place was immaculate and bright with extremely enthusiastic staff. Is it better than our own locally owned and loved Puget Sound Dick's? Uhm, that would be a definite no.
