Onnys Thai Restaurant
1903 W San Marcos Blvd #100, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
If you are seeking the most authentic, the best and most adventurous Thai dining location in all of upper San Diego county, this is the spot u need to go!!! This location is fairly new, having been open roughly three months shy of a year from when this review was published. The restaurant is fairly small and is smack on the corner of very busy, intensive traffic intersection, yet whenever I go (which is when I see the rush of vehicles originating from palomar airport road heading into my city of san marcos, coinciding with their happy hour) the restaurant is almost vacant! The general manager and I have come to agreement that those big circular decals they invested in for the purpose of sticking on the windows and the fact that they chose the location right in the corner of said busy intersection do them absolutely no good. It seems like the rush hour traffic is just so bent and focused on getting home or doing plenty of other things besides having adventurous Thai dining. Despite the fact that the place is right out of the corner of their eye, those people are missing out by not checking this place out! Seems like social media and the web may be better marketing strategies for them. As far as the food is concerned, it is by far the best thai food i have ever tasted, a complete foodgasm for lack of a better term. I usually get the chicke pad see yu with no spicy because i am not a big fan of spicy, but if you love spicy then they can make your entreè as spicy as you want it. The spring rolls complemented by the sweet sauce are also a really good appetizer. I usually attend this establishment for their happy hour and craft beers on draft. Their handles are usually rotating so do not be surprised if a couple weeks later you see a craft beer that was not there before. Due to the fact that this is a Thai restaurant, you can always find their signature Thai lager Singha on draft, which is very delicious by the way. Back then they only had four beers on draft but now they added two more for a total of six! My favorite one is the latitude 33 ipa. They also have a bunch of other crafts in bottles as well as wine. I highly recommend going during happy hour which is from four to seven post meridian pacific standard time because there beers are only three bucks a pint, which is almost a steal for quality craft beer. I also love the owners because they are very friendly as well as the staff that works there, that is another huge reason I go. I hope their business thrives so eventually they can sell the restaurant and move to Thailand, I can only hope for the best. Team pink always supports team purple!!!im out for now, peace!
Taco Bell
120 N Rancho Santa Fe Rd, San Marcos, CA 92069, United States
Waited an HOUR in the drive thru. A 15-30 minutes wait, fine whatever. AN HOUR? Unacceptable. When I worked for Taco Bell we were scolded for anything over a 4 minute ticket for the drive thru. I even had a mobile order, with 3 tacos and a quesadilla, I feel bad for the 15 cars who were behind me, as their wait will likely be worse. Whoever was managing this shift did not prepare properly for a Saturday night. The team should have also utilized both lines to combat the drive thru AND walk in orders.. with 5 employees, and 2 stocked lines,. This is possible.. The manager also NEDDS to make sure her crew is wearing their hairnets appropriately at all time. I should not see hair loose and swinging around the line. You already know your customers are going to be upset over an hour wait; it is crucial you do not give us another reason to feel uncomfortable or unappreciated as customers. I have additional comments I will be sharing with corporate when I call in the morning. I am so shocked. The only compliment I will give the staff is that they communicated to make sure my order was correct AND the girl working the drive threw was filling drinks when cars pulled up rather than making them and letting them sit. However in her spare time, she could have been used to help expedite, over restocking a line that saw a car maybe every 15 minutes.

Accessibility: they have a drive-thru and they have accessible parking near the front entrance with a ramp to get onto the sidewalk. The doors to enter are pull doors.Experience: I was going here every week, and then TWICE in ONE MONTH I had my credit card number stolen and large charges made within a day after coming here, both times. It was either this place or two other, but I kept using my cards at the other two places and stopped going here or only using cash here, and no more credit card numbers stolen. Hm...interesting. someone needs to look into this. I did come here again this week but I ONLY USE CASH HERE NOW.Also the last time I came here, there was a manager literally screaming at the other employees including a young man who worked at the drive-thru window handing me my food. I told the boy he shouldnt be treated like that and the manager is out of line and the boy said thank you, looking like he was about to cry. This is extremely inappropriate, unprofessional and unkind behavior.
Nekter Juice Bar
133 S Las Posas Rd, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
I know how it is working in the food industry, these guys work just averageService isn't consistent. For my birthday they made the smoothie liquidy which is stupid I come at least 10 times a month! It's never been liquidy.Prices are getting high in this market, that includes the ice cream. This place is pricey. The quality of the products themselves are questionable. They do seem fresh but I am skeptical about their shipment schedule. If they freeze their fruit it's definitely worth trying it out.The environment is small and can get dirty fast. Not a whole lot of employees work at a time so lines can form. The wait time can vary between 5 and 20 minutes.Inconsistency of service, combined with quality that may seem to be “fresh” and a nice small environment gives this restaurant a 3/5.

Beautiful location, I accidentally bypassed it at first but finding our way back home was way easier. Lots of open land around, we walked up and there are d plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Friday night and there was even live music on the patio area.Teri had a great variety of food and coffee/non coffee beverage options on the menu as well as standing fridges with a variety of canned and bottle options (everything from freshly squeezed orange juice to even a large selection of beers and wine). Looked like they even had wine by the glass as well. I got my standard Americano, 30 oz was about $3 +/- and it was really good. The kids opted for hot chocolates which they really enjoyed and they were very reasonably priced.I got a few chocolate chip cookies and coffee/brown butter/walnut cookies to bring home. My son got a breakfast bagel to snack on (whats better than breakfast around dinner?) And my daughter got one of her favorites, a jalepeno cheese bagel. She really enjoyed it, said one of the most flavorful, best best bagels she has had.The staff was super friendly and all smiles. It was quite busy for a Friday evening which is good and the staff kept up with the crowd. There is also a cute store where you can purchase some locally made items like jams, jellies and dog treats. Some fun gems, I got a cute homemade ghost magnet. Looks like they also have an event space as well as some fun activities planned.Well be back soon, great place to hang out and just relax. Plus Teri is doing a great job helping out their community and great causes. Thank you TERI, Yelp Elite, and Anne for another awesome night out!
Copper Kings Burgers
925 W San Marcos Blvd # B, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
If youre looking for an amazing burger, with fresh homemade ingredients, this is your place! We found this place just walking around waiting for our car to get detailed, so its definitely a hidden treasure. Dermot, the owner, greeted us and gave us a run down on what they do here since we had never been before. He directed us to their online menu where we placed our order. Theres a single table outside right under the shade of a tree that makes the perfect waiting/eating area. The burgers come out fresh and hot. When you bite its a delicious burst of flavor immediately. The fries are crisp and fresh. One of the highlights for me, the bbq sauce!! Its all homemade, and not like that sweet stuff you get at the store. It has real flavor with lots of spices, YUM!! Dermot the owner is a class act, I would come back just for the service, and good conversation. Thank you Copper Kings Burgers!

Green Gables Wedding Estate
134 Woodland Pkwy, San Marcos, CA 92069, United States
The grounds were beautiful, a little too rustic for our taste to be honest. I understand maintaining the true value of the vintage architecture, but with the amount of money that they make they should be able to do the patch work and restoration required to keep the grounds looking elegant instead of cheap. There were tiles missing out of the floor, cracked floor tiles, the only positive aspects of the bathrooms were that they smelled nice, and there was trash all over the place. Spend the money to maintain a clean venue, so each guest sees that you take pride in your estate. While we were touring the grounds, a wedding was being set up, which we didnt like at all, its almost intrusive. We agreed on our wedding day, we wouldnt want people wandering the property while were trying to set up. These were all things that we could have overlooked to have our day of celebration on this beautiful property.WHAT WE COULD NOT OVERLOOK was the staff. If I could even call them that. We made a 10 o clock appointment, and we knew we were cutting it close with being on time. We made a phone call to the lady we had an appointment with and told her we were close, but may be 5 minutes late at the most. We arrived 4 minutes after 10 and were told that our tour guide was with another guest. The supervisor of catering, Petar (who was awesome by the way), informed us that every tour guide was busy at the moment, but it shouldnt take more than 15 minutes. We waited 30 minutes and Petar was nice enough to check back in with us a few times and tried to find someone for us, with no success. We decided to give ourselves a tour of the property and made our way around to see all the amenities it had to offer. 45 minutes passed and Petar was checking on us again, so we asked him to give us a tour. He gladly accepted our offer and took time out of his day to show us around and explain how the weddings unveiled on their property. He was extremely informative and gave us all the information we were hoping for, minus the price of the packages for obvious reasons. We passed a few of the tour guides on our tour with Petar and they were unfriendly and acknowledged us. After Petar showed us around we thanked him for his time and our original tour guide found us to talk over price. We had a good conversation with her, but found her sales approach to be very pushy. She offered to give us a deal on the decor if we put the deposit down today, otherwise we would lose the deal if we waited. The approach by her was what I would expect out of a used car salesman. When you are requesting to be a part of the most important day of someones life, you want the couple to feel like they made the right decision because you are exactly what theyre looking for, not like their decision was forced. She decided to offer us the ability to cancel within 24 hours after making the deposit, but we had more venues to see and we couldnt be happier that we did. The terrible service and unfriendly environment overshadowed the beauty of the property, no amount of beauty is worth the lack of customer service we experienced. Needless to say Green Gables Wedding Estates is no longer on our list of potentials, it was easily replaced by a few other beautiful venues that had both wonderful staff members and more beautiful ground. I want it to stand out that Petar was exceptional, and it was only because of him that we didn't just end up leaving the property. Because of Petar we could say our visit was enjoyable.
Flavor of Himalaya

Excellent. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air for the area. The menu is extensive featuring appetizers, breads, vegetarian, chicken, lamb and biranyis. Also chefs special dishes and lunch specials. Rice and naan are standard fare. But the entrees are very well prepared with delicious sauces, fresh spices and vegetables. Taste is the ultimate quality to judge on and these taste darn good. I have eaten Indian cuisine all around the USA and Canada and I can recommend these. We tried the chicken Momo, a dumpling dish like pot stickers but with a different filling and sauce. To me more of an appetizer, but good. Butter chicken was as good as any around and at the top. Malai kofta was excellent, a thick creamy rich sauce and fresh tasty dumplings. Saag paneer was excellent as a standard fare. Chillii chicken has great flavor and almost a relative to a Thai dish. Lastly chicken karahi had a unique flavorful sauce different from the standard Indian curry, rogan josh or Tikka. A nice change.Give this restaurant a chance and I think you will be pleased and want to come back. No, I am not a relative or paid reviewer, just someone who appreciates a good effort by a chef
Aria Restaurant
1650 Descanso Ave, San Marcos, CA 92078, United States
Fantastic restaurant. The food is amazing. Its way more of a hidden gem than you would expect. This restaurant definitely has an upscale feel, but isnt pretentious. You can go there in casual clothes and enjoy some delicious food. There is a wide variety to meet all needs. Its not a problem if you are on various diets or vegetarian. Everything that they have can be ordered a la carte, whish is wonderful. The staff is super helpful with recommendations and explanations of the various dishes available. Their kabobs (Beef Koobideh, Lamb Koobideh, Chicken Kabob + side of Gyros) were seasoned to perfection! Amazing comfort food that seems akin to family cooking (made with love), certainly more than your average restaurant. There was ample parking (including wheelchair accessible parking, of course!) Its worth your time to this place.
