I frequent Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered Bun Thit Nuong, rice noodles with pork. I added shrimp for an extra charge, thinking I would get the very common dish Bun Tom Thit Nuong, cold rice noodles with shrimp and pork. I was very surprised to find the pork missing. With only shrimp, the dish was not really satisfying.
Pho Na 92
14220 Palm Dr, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240, United States
Ive tried it twice. The 1st time was not good. The meat was not fresh, the vegetables were old. The place was also not clean. Tables still had food stains. The second time desperately needed a bowl of PHO, and the same results. Strangely some older Vietnamese man came out of the door across from the restroom. He had clearly just woke up.Im done with this place.. Id rather drive 30 mins. to a good Vietnamese restaurant.

La Baguette Vietnamese Sandwiches
34580 Monterey Ave Unit 106, Palm Desert, CA 92211, United States
We put in a large order (about 30 banh mi and a couple other entrees, spring rolls) and first I want to say that everyone loved the food! The banh mi was great, and people loved the various spring rolls we got (shrimp, shrimp and pork, mushroom). Janel and David were easy to work with in placing the order, and communicating via email and phone. The reason Im not giving 5 stars is because we had big hiccups with the pick-up time and a couple mistakes with the order (2 missing banh mi). My friends had gone to pick-up the order at the agreed upon time, and they were running late with the order. My friends waited 1 hour for the order to be ready, and I felt really bad that they waited so long on my behalf. La Baguette was very apologetic and I believe they had another large order at the same time.I appreciated that they gave us free sesame balls and delivered the 2 missing banh mi to our Airbnb. Also, it seems I have a pending partial refund from them so I believe they took the mishaps seriously. All in all, wed definitely order from them again, but just had issues with the timeliness and accuracy this time around. But they are human, and I appreciate how they managed the mishaps!
Chef Tanyas Kitchen - Palm Desert
72695 CA-111 Unit A6, Palm Desert, CA 92260, United States
Intended to try Chef Tanyas the last time I was out in Palm Springs. So I was very happy to see they have a newer location in Palm Desert which was not too far off from where I was staying for the labor day weekend.Such a great spot for vegan food, so I can definitely see what all the hype is about.ITEMS ORDERED:Modern Hippie Veggie (added seitan)TASTE:First off, if you just browse through a few Yelp photos youll see this sandwich looking very aesthetically pleasing & mine turned out just like that. This sandwich is not just looks though since it also tastes good as well as gets great marks for texture. It comes with crack cheese, avocado, gomasio (sesame sea salt), tomato, jicama, shredded carrot, cucumber, purple pickled cabbage, beautiful lettuce, mayo on country levain bread. I added seitan to make it more meaty.Theres definitely lots of ingredients in this sandwich but everything actually works out so well resulting in a fantastic sandwich. All the veggies were very fresh, & crisp which makes the sandwich kinda refreshing. Flavor wise, the crack cheese has a tart flavor that somewhat comes off as hummus. Sweetness from the carrots, light pickling of the cabbage, meatiness of the seitan & nutty flavor from the gomasio all somehow works together pretty much perfectly for a great bite. Id eat this sandwich several times a week & feel good about it. The levain bread has that sourdough vibe just so you know. Its also a well sized sandwich & can be shared among two if you are not overly hungry.SERVICE:The cashier who took my order was friendly & had a good attitude. Always makes the food taste better. You just place your order at the register and they bring the food to your table.I was there within 30 min of opening (11 am) on Saturday (Labor Day weekend) & I walked right in & ordered without waiting. But it did get busy since, as I finished my meal, someone was waiting to sit at my table.LOCATION & PARKING:This might be as much as a cool retail store as it is a fast, casual restaurant. Once you enter youll see the register among many other offerings. When you walk to the other room youll see a few tables as well as other take home items you can purchase (soap, seitan, books, etc). Theres also a few tables outside as well. Overall the place has a nice homely vibe which I like. They are located in Palms to Pines West Shopping Center, off El Paseo. There is ample parking so its very easy.Honestly, if I was local Im quite sure Id be a regular here. I was impressed my this sandwich enough Id probably get the same thing again, although I am intrigued by the other items, & the desserts of course. I definitely plan on coming back when Im in the area.Cheers!
Desert Springs Marketplace

Very nice shopping center with Ralphs, banks, restaurants, drugstore, UPS Store, and other places. The Ralphs is a very good place to shop and has a lot more stuff than the store down the street. I always find whatever Im looking for there. Theres plenty of parking. The cleaners does a good job, including alterations. Theres a Starbucks inside Ralphs and another coffee shop next door. Theres even a wine bar. Its walking distance from the Marriott across the street. Easy to get in and out of the lot. Several high-end restaurants (Mortons and Coral Tree).

Ding Tea Palm Desert
74998 Country Club Dr #220, Palm Desert, CA 92260, United States
Update: I cant believe reply of this store is so rude. I took my whole family to Palm Spring to spend weekend. The only reason I order here is because it is close to JW Marriot where we stayed that night, how possible you can suspect your customer of cheating to get two free drinks!1, Hope your store camera has audio as well, that you can hear I had said very clearly hot, and twice on the first and second order. And you said nothing but ordered cold. Of course your note had ice drink because you are careless and typed wrong.2, Why do you skip the comment you silently add more charge for the large drink without asking me? Who is cheating?3, I opened the bag and saw 3 drinks in your store and left to my car, when I trying to grab the only cold drink for myself, I felt worried because all 3 drinks are cold, which is wrong. And so I went back to clarify with you. And you told me no hot milk tea, and you can refund. Then I have to go back to my car to take my phone to call my family and ask their idea. And thats why I returned with decision of refund because they dont want cold drink. These details has nothing to do to defend you. You made the wrong order, thats simple. Actually just because of this wrong order issue, I have to call and come back and forth to solve it. It is 8,9PM and 3 adults and 2 kids were waiting for me to bring food and drink back.4, During the whole process, I said zero of keeping the wrong drinks because I know it is your right to take them back. Also it is my option to share what a good service could be. It is not acceptable at all to suspect your customer especially when you made the mistake. I cant believe Ding Tea can tolerance it.------------------------------------------------------------------------Service is not good enough. I ordered hot milk tea, but they gave me cold. Service said milk tea cant make hot; they should let me know when I placed the order, I slowly and clearly said hot. Besides, all drinks are large and they never asked me about the choice. I will go large but service should let customer decide. In the end I got refund of the wrong order, and service took the drink back while in my past experience store usually will leave the wrong orders to customer as a gift if they made the mistake.
ISLAND BOBA SUSHI POKE
36901 Cook St #6, Palm Desert, CA 92211, United States
Tried this place bc it was close to our hotel and it did not disappoint!Went around 1:30, after the rush, and was seated right away. Options for seating include: sushi bar, inside table, or outside under bistro umbrellas.Ordered poke bowl, dragon roll, spicy tuna and Thai iced tea.DIY poke bowl: pick a base, 3 protiens, then up to 5 toppings, and 2 sauces. I went with rice base, tuna, salmon, unagi (eel). Added edamame, crispy garlic, Seaweed salad, green onions. Sauce automatically comes to the the side and I went with the eel sauce (sweet & tangy) then creamy sesame. Mixed them both together! Delicious.Dragon Roll: XL roll filled with a creamy crab salad mix. Topped with a generous amount of Avocado and BBQ eel. The single peices were so large I struggled to get them in one bite!Spicy Tuna Roll: definitely has a kick to it! Usually when I get spicy tuna, its very mild, with less kick then paperback cheese. This is actually spicy. Balanced with fresh cucumber and green sprouts for a touch of crunch.Thai Iced Tea: nice mix if sweet and Thai tea flavor. Helped cool off my mouth aftertaste spicy tuna Roll bites.
