Our server was absolutely awesome. Very friendly and attentive without being overly watchful. Food arrived hot and delicious. We started with the Crisy Egg Rolls with fish sauce (one of my favorite foods). I ordered a Vietnamese style deep-fried chicken coated with spices that were phenomenal in flavor. It came with a Vietnamese style coleslaw that was nothing like any other type that I have ever had. Make no mistake, I didnt leave any behind. My wife ordered salmon with rice noodles and said that the meal was not disappointing in the least. Dessert was a coconut flan. I had never had it before, but I was more than pleasantly surprised as to how delicious it was. The meal was set in a relaxed atmosphere that was somewhat romantic. I highly recommend this restaurant, and if I travel to Palm Springs again, it will be on my list to eat at.

My wife & I stopped by for a very late lunch, after visiting a friend who ended up in hospital due to a broken ankle while hiking with us, and before our long drive home. Naturally, the restaurant was mostly empty. So we had the full attention of the waitress (= owner??) the entire time. Her service was good. The Vietnamese iced coffee had a different taste than what I am used to; not as sweet (a good thing), but not as rich either. Still refreshing though. We ordered the bánh xèo (= savory Vietnamese crepe) as appetizer. The crepe itself was small and tasted pretty good; but the dipping sauce was very good. The lettuce and herbs for wrapping were very fresh. Overall, this dish was good and just the right size for an appetizer. The beef salad with herbs and served with a side of sticky rice was pretty good. The meat was well flavored and tender. But I was not used to eating this dish with sticky, aka sweet, rice. After a couple of bites, I just left out the sticky rice all together. Just my preference. The basil chicken was the other dish we ordered. This one was flavorful; the sauce was tasty. The balance of meat & vegetables were good. For dessert, we ordered the banana wraps with purple sticky rice, drizzled with coconut milk & honey. Since I like coconut milk, I found its amount in this dish insufficient, like so many other similar dishes at other restaurants. The banana wraps were crispy.Overall, I will likely to return to this restaurant again whenever I am in Palm Springs, to try other dishes.
Rooster And The Pig
356 S Indian Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262, United States
The Rooster and The PigMy partner and I had a chance to experience dinner at “The Rooster and The Pig”Echoing other reviews, the line upon arriving at 4:50pm was quite long, but we were able to get seated right away. They open at 5:00pm, so I definitely suggest getting there at 4:30-4:45PM if you want to get seated right away. Otherwise you may have a little bit of a wait. The menu was very interesting seemingly taking a more gourmet take on traditional Vietnamese food. For Starters we had the following:1. Fish Sauce Wings: A nice light crispy finish on the chicken wings and the right amount of sweet and savory between the fish sauce and sugar. I would get these again.2. Calamari: Excellent. Crispy battered finish, with just the right amount of ‘chewiness'. The spice was excellent… just a bit spicy and the right amount of saltiness.3. Vietnamese Crispy Rolls: These were OK. Between the jicama and glass noodles we found those to be a bit overpowering. For the Mains we had the following:1. Pork Belly Fried Rice: This was good, overall. A little more bland, but definitely had some great starting tastes. The chunks of pork belly and crispy shallots were awesome.2. Shaking Beef: Pretty good. Would have enjoyed a little more flavor in the sauce, but the meat was very tender, and high quality. The Experience:Overall pretty good. The waiter was attentive. The dishes were on the smaller sides. Echoing some of the other reviews, the food is good overall, but there wasn't anything that struck us as amazing. At the beginning of our meal, we asked out waiter if we could place an additional order of Pork Belly Friend rice to go, and he was a bit hesitant saying that the manager was very picky about placing to go orders. This didn't make any sense to us, but we remedied the issue by placing two orders of fried rice right away and taking the extra to go.We also ordered two Vietnamese Iced Coffee's. They were a little strong, so my partner asked if we could have just a little extra condensed milk… again the waiter was very hesitant, but said he would ask the bartender if we could have some… to which he said no. We found that was odd. Would have gladly paid extra for it.Interesting place. Food was good, but the overall experience seemed a little… interesting.
Pho Na 92
14220 Palm Dr, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240, United States
Ive tried it twice. The 1st time was not good. The meat was not fresh, the vegetables were old. The place was also not clean. Tables still had food stains. The second time desperately needed a bowl of PHO, and the same results. Strangely some older Vietnamese man came out of the door across from the restroom. He had clearly just woke up.Im done with this place.. Id rather drive 30 mins. to a good Vietnamese restaurant.

Kreem

Great Food & Wonderful Staff. My partner and I recently visited Kreem and then gushed to friends about how much we enjoyed it. Today, we met one of those friends who asked if wed join her at Kreem. It doesnt take much to talk me into ice cream (let alone freshly-made specially flavored ice creams). Naturally, we agreed and ordered three different flavors. I had Confetti - basically vanilla bean with colored sprinkles, my partner had Purple Basil, and our friend had Coffee flavor. ALL were delicious choices. Our friend is soon to be a regular there. A large single scoop is $4, a double is $6, but what youre paying for is the quality of the ice cream. They offer the little tasting spoons if youd like to see what Purple Basil tastes like. Truly, they love making the ice cream and want you to enjoy it as well. About six flavors were Vegan ( made with coconut milk). The other eight flavors are traditional cows milk varieties. THANKS to everyone at KREEM... were very happy campers. Its about 106 degrees today so Kreem is a very welcome place and Ill make it a point to visit often!!!

Very good but the last visit the mussels were prepared incorrectly or the Vietnamese version was so similar to the wine and garlic as to be indistinguishable. Otherwise it’s very good and a smidgeon of European food in what can be a very similar restaurant scene.
Palm Greens Cafe

I had never been to this organic restaurant before today, and I am looking forward to going again soon. This will definitely be my go-to place for when my friends come visit. I had the Vietnamese noodle bowl with steak; everything was crisp and tasted so very fresh. The steak was rib eye and it was delicious - to say the least. The doterra immune system shots were really tasty as well. I appreciated that the serving size of the food matched the price. Thank you Chuy for your kind service and thank you amazing cooks for a wonderful, savory experience.
