I order the Pho special. Pretty generous for noodle which is good for hungry tummies but the sliced meat quality is different from the Vietnamese restaurants I have had more lean meat basically just sliced beef. The price for a bowl Pho is $17+ is the higher side compare to a regular Vietnamese restaurant. The Vietnamese coffee came in a small cup. It has a lot acidity not too sweet than the Vietnamese I have had. I was not able to finish the the coffee.

This is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in south Orange County. I have been going there for years and its always very good. Food is fresh and portions are very good. Service is always fast. the egg-rolls are a must ... Any pho they offer is pretty good, I usually order the oxtail one and beef melts in your mouth!

A humble spot but probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town, super juicy chicken & beef. Try their ice coffee too!

It was our familys first time here for lunch on a mid-October Sunday in 2018. It was fine until one out of our party of 6 didnt get his food order while the rest of us were half-finished with our meals. After asking at least 2 different wait persons, the pho finally came. However, my brother-in-law had ordered pho with well-done steak and meatballs and he received rare steak with no meatballs. After flagging the waitress again, instead of fixing the order, the waitress showed us the handwritten order and insisted that my brother-in-law got exactly what he ordered, basically saying we were wrong. She could have written anything, since we didnt watch her write down the orders word for word. My brother-in-law said forget about it. Minutes later, the waitress returned with 4 halves of meatballs and said the boss said it was okay to give us some meatballs, like she was doing us a big favor. Just not the most pleasant or customer-oriented wait staff.

The owner of this place is the kindest man. He always comes out to say hello to my little son.The food is also amazing, some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in 25 years of living in San Francisco. It’s a lovely restaurant run by wonderful people. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

I have been to this place for more than a decade. I loved their 7 beef course set menu, so I could try all courses of beef. Unfortunately they dont do that anymore. Each course can be ordered individually. So I picked the ones that I liked the most. Bo Tai Chanh. The raw beef. Um. I never say no to this. I also ordered grilled pork, beef sausages, beef wrapped, and shrimp with sugar cane. Its a lot for two people. I like the hands-on wrap it yourself experience. The services were above standard. I highly suggest to rsvp. This place is always packed. If you cant find parking, theres a small parking lot about up a block where people go to golf. I wish they had 7 beef courses meal set again.

Absolutely loved it!!! Everything was amazing!! I don’t have a lot of experience with Vietnamese cuisine so I wasn’t sure the what to expect. We ordered several dishes and shared them, at first the fish looked intimidating but once you starts “scratching it” oh wow, what an amazing wonderful experience!! We also loved the fact that the owner approached us several times to ask if we where ok. This restaurant made it to my top restaurants in San Francisco for sure!! And don’t forget to ask for the banana ? dessert ??? trust me, ITS A MUST!!!

Hands down one of the best vietnamese restaurants in San Francisco, worth driving too. Incredible pricing and generous portions.
Le Soleil
133 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
No MSG Vietnamese cuisine!!!!!
Le Soleil doesnt resort to using MSG, but the kitchen gently coaxes out maximum flavor instead by using fresh premium ingredients, and classic cooking techniques. This is the only place Ill have Vietnamese noodle pho soup -- they only offer one kind of Beef Pho, but the broth is MSG-free which is pretty much a rarity. Le Soleils able to get a rich, deep and tasty broth by cooking beef bones for 10 hours (no instant beef broth cubes or canned chicken broth here).
Dennis Wong, the executive chef, is very personable, relaxed, yet impeccable in how he runs the kitchen and its execution of dishes. Hes been an executive chef for the last few decades (has other restos including one in Hong Kong), but Le Soleil is his home base. Dont let his title intimidate you, Dennis is so down-to-earth he was helping to bus my table (I came in 15 minutes before the lunch service ended) and graciously answered my questions about Le Soleil and warmly invited me back.
Ive been there for Lunch, Happy Hour and Dinner -- everything is delish! What Ive had so far: Spring rolls; Vegetarian rolls; Imperial rolls; Spicy chicken coconut soup; Lemongrass beef over Rice Vermicelli noodles; Traditional Beef Pho; and Turmeric Crepe (aka Banh Xeo -- a rice flour Vietnamese crepe made with no eggs).
I also really enjoyed the Garlic Roasted Dungeness crab with noodles — this is the only place I've come across in SF where they truly don't use any MSG.Many items are also gluten-free, but be sure to specify with your server if thats a health concern. The only items I didnt care for were the desserts.

A new spot in outer Richmond, but one of those places that sort of feel like youd never just stumbled upon on your own. Either way, still relatively new so came in with a group of 7 and was seated immediately at the sushi bar and we instantly felt like home. A clean bar with a slightly fancy feel. All the tables look pretty well done as well.FOOD :Chicken wings. An odd choice at a sushi spot but GOODNESS were these good. They took one of the bones out for ease of eating and the batter they had on this was ridiculous. Crunchy, salty and a little sweet. Juicy chicken served with a sauce to balance it all out. Highly recommended.Ankimo. One of the classics but the quality here was phenomenal. Smooth with a ton of umami balanced with the sweet and tangy sauce. Also highly recommended.10 piece omakase. Had all the classics, but obviously the highlights of uni, salmon, otoro, shrimp and Hamachi which were excellent. For $60, really a great option for the quality of fish youre getting with solid seasonings. Definitely recommend.30 piece sashimi. Also excellent quality fish with a good variety and honestly great price point as well.Oysters were also fresh and super tasty.Chawanmushi. RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. Umami, sweet, creamy. Perfect. Highly recommend.Double Toro roll. A great balance with excellent fish. A great starter to share. Definitely recommended.DRINKS:Spicy girl. A great drink if youre okay with a little kick. Sweet and spicy with a hint of rice. Definitely one of my favorite drinks. They have a couple more drinks that were great, so definitely worth trying a few!Overall a great experience. The biggest thing is that it feels like family when youre here. Everyone is friendly and helps you tailor your experience to you. Excellent food, and great drinks, with an awesome staff. Highly recommend. Cant go wrong with anything you order(so far). I will be back often.
