Emerald Garden Restaurant
2301 Artesia Blvd #1, Redondo Beach, CA 90278, United States
We had a bad experience and are trying to resolve it directly with the restaurant but because they won't respond to us in person or on the phone…We placed an order for delivery and we're told it would be there in 40 minutes. After more than an hour we called to check on the ETA and we're told the driver would be right there. At an hour twenty - still no delivery so we called again and we're again told that the driver would be right there. 10 minutes later we tried calling back and there was no answer. Tried several times - nobody would answer the phone. We gave up - ordered, and went and picked up Mexican food.Almost 2 hours later to the minute, the delivery driver for Emerald Garden came to our door. I explained it had been 2 hours and that we'd gotten other food. I asked what he would've done? He said he got stuck in traffic and had to make another delivery and walked off immediately. We live 5 minutes from the restaurant - with bad traffic 8 minutes. Had they told us on the phone when we called that their delivery driver was slammed - we would have happily picked it up.We've eaten here and had deliveries several times before and generally been happy. We really don't want them to lose business (other than ours) over this. But they're refusing to talk to us or refund us for food we didn't get.Disappointing. We realize times are tough for restaurants and are sympathetic to a fault. This could have been so easily resolved.
Jay Bharat, Artesia
18701 Pioneer Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
Jay Bharat is a village-style Gujarati diner that is vegetarian friendly. Gujarati cuisine is primarily vegetarian due to influences from religious customs. There is an abundance of Gujarati restaurants in Little India, but what makes Jay Bharat special is the consistency of their over the past 2 decades. Ordering one of JBs thali is the way to experience a full Gujarati meal, which is one of the most exotic types in Indian cuisine.Since I wanted to try other Gujarati restaurants on the Pioneer strip afterwards, I ordered the rotla shak. Its somewhat like a partial thali minus rice, with 2 choices of shak, rotla (millet bread), gur, garlic chutney, and buttermilk. Shak is a term used for Gujarati vegetarian curries. You can pick from a list of 5 seasonal shaks.Undhiyu is usually on the shak lineup in the winter and spring. Its a very traditional mixed vegetable stew from south Gujarat that is sweet, salty, spicy, and chewy. It contains an exotic mixture of potato cubes, beans, green plantain, green peas, and eggplant, all cooked in coconut and spices. What impressed me most about the gravy was the balance between spicy and subtle sweetness. Also notable for the undhiyu is the varying texture of the vegetables - crunchy green peas like nuts in the same bite as softened vegetables. Its an acquired taste and Im not sure if everyone will enjoy it.Another shak that I recommend is the red chori. This is the same azuki beans used in Japanese desserts, but Indians cook it with spices in a curry. Red chori is wholesome, high in protein, and its nutty flavor is apparent when served in a light tomato curry. Perfect to complement with rotli or similar bread.Out of all the Gujarati restaurants Ive tried in Little India, Jay Bharat is one of my favorites. I am a fan of their casual setting and the fact that tips are optional. Service was reasonable for a diner. Servers were attentive but did not know the menu well enough. I was served buttermilk and papad which are really only included in thalis.
Panda Express
1689 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
Was there on 05/04/2019 @ 4:21PMOrder #126603The worst customer service experience. I payed for a milk tea boba and the cashier Karina M., then walked over to the second counter where the manager Kiki was standing to request a fresh boba milk drink. The manage with a displeased expression and irrate voice yelled at Karina and told her to give me a milk tea that was already on the counter. I automatically refused that drink because it looked watered down and like it was sitting there all day ( seriously who wants to drink a watered down milk tea). I then walked over to Kiki the so called manager and she yelled at me stating she had just brought that drink out. I automatically told her that since Im a paying customer that she make a fresh drink and again she said she had just made the drink. Its sad that as a paying client I was treated this way as I did not want to spend my hard earned money on some watered down drink... instead of apologizing to me Kiki had the nerve to scream and say her name and state she was the manager. I reminded her of her terrible customer service and that I am the customer !!

Moo BBQ
11746 South St, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
A lot of MOOs died for my BBQMOO BBQ is an AYCE Korean BBQ where you help yourself, save for the meat. Side dishes, soup & other accoutrement are laid out buffet-style. Need rice paper? Go get it! Want soondubu? Pick up the ladle! Ive been to this restaurant in its prior iterations, so I was anticipating how MOO BBQ would differ from what came before.$14.99/lunch (3 meat items at a time)-Quite a few protein choices are on the lunch menu. Unfortunately, tongue is not included. Unstifled by that circumstance, I went for my usual - beef belly, squid & large intestine. All the meat were fresh & there wasnt a long wait for them to be brought out. On my second order of large intestine, I was told MOO BBQ was out of it. However, about 5 minutes later, the staff brought out a plate of large intestine & said this was the last one. Im not sure if they were telling the truth or just being stingy with the large intestine, but I was happy cutting up theoffal into bite sized pieces, awaiting the fatty goodness which endears me to large intestine. Trust me, give it a try if you havent already. Good stuff! The side dishes offer a little something for everyone. I mainly stuck to the various kimchi, raw skate banchan, soondubu, miso soup & pumpkin porridge. I was reticent about trying the pumpkin porridge, as I thought it would be too sweet. It wasnt! It had the perfect balance of sweet & reminded me of mashed sweet potato with almond/coconut milk, which I eat almost everyday. For the sweet tooth, there are various fruit, a soft serve machine offering vanilla, chocolate & swirl and sikhye (Korean rice beverage). The sikhye provided a refreshing sweet end to a fatty, heavy lunch.Service was good. Our grill was offered to be changed twice. The staff were on the ready with refills, meat requests & clearing empty plates. Plentiful seating, with booths all around the buffet area. Several flatscreen TVs had sports channels on, while KPOP kept my toes tapping and head bobbing while I showed off my grillmaster skills. A second floor is available to reserve for parties & other large gatherings.Parking is in a private lot, on the sides & rear of the restaurant.I MOO-ved in, and I didnt want to leave! W/o the long lines, the wait for food (other than the meat) & comfy booths, MOO BBQ has found a new fan. The meat quality & selections were good & varied, respectively, and service was top notch. I enjoy getting food on my own, as opposed to waiting for someone to bring it out to me, and having the option of chugging all the sikhye I wanted are reasons why MOO BBQ will see me again. Oh, yes! Ill be back, and MOO better have their large intestine stocked up, as I will ravage their supply like a walker from the Walking Dead.Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Original Thai Artesia
11861 Artesia Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
I will never eat at this place ever again.I ordered Pad se Ew here with mango and sticky rice from Doordash. They decided to substitute my mango with sticky rice for Thai custard with sticky rice (looks like yellow slop - see photos) without calling and notifying me. I called the restaurant to tell them they should call and tell their customers if they do not have an item in stock (mango) and to not substitute the item in case they dont want it. The lady said I couldnt find your contact number and I said it is done online and through Doordash which has instructions and numbers on there. She preceeded to say well you can call Doordash in the middle of me telling her that for future customers she should inform them of any changes to their orders not just change the order. Then she goes thanks for your business and hangs up!RUDE customer service! The food is not all that great and the way you treat your customers is unprofessional. I do not recommend anyone to do business here.
Udupi Palace
18635 Pioneer Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
I recently visited Udupi restaurant in Artesia and wanted to share my experience. Overall, I would rate it 3 stars.Firstly, I must commend the restaurant for their delicious Chole bhature. The combination of spicy chickpea curry and fluffy bhature bread was simply mouth-watering. The flavors were authentic and reminded me of the street-side stalls in India. The portion size was generous, and it was definitely the highlight of my meal.On the other hand, I found the average/dry paper dosa to be disappointing. The dosa lacked the crispy texture that I expected, and it seemed like it had been sitting out for too long. The flavor was also quite bland. I believe they could significantly improve this dish by making it fresher and more flavorful. When it came to the kids dosa, it was decent but nothing extraordinary. The dosa itself was thin and crispy, appealing to children who prefer a lighter taste. However, I was expecting it to be served with some sort of accompaniment or filling to make it more exciting for the kids. It felt a bit plain and lacking in that aspect. In terms of service, the staff was friendly and attentive. They took our orders promptly and were helpful in explaining the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to dine.Overall, my experience at Udupi restaurant in Artesia was a mix of positives and negatives. While their Chole bhature was outstanding, the average/dry paper dosa and kids dosa did not live up to my expectations. I would recommend this place if youre specifically looking for great Chole bhature, but for other South Indian dishes, there might be better options available in the area.
Boiling Point
18001 Pioneer Blvd C, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
Delicious Asian style soups. They have variety of tasty soups that are best fit for your taste buds. Awesome customer service. Plenty of parkings. You can also collect stamps to earn 1 free hot pot and 1 free drink. Long wait on the weekend. Overall, an uncommon fast food restaurant.
Bonchon
17901 Pioneer Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
I will give a zero star. No minus star. I put in the order online @11:50 am. I was done with my schedule, so I call the store to expedite the order a little. The lady told me that no order was made with my name, even though I received confirmation of order. So I went to the store and then they told me that they just got the order . So I waited a few minutes later Tamia the lady who works there told me they were out of bone less wings that I ordered. Amazing ! Never again ! After I picked up my order I went home . I was very upset and found out they shorted me 4 drum sticks . My order was 10 drum sticks they gave only 6. Unbelievable !
