Genkai Sushi Asian Cuisine & Bar
605 Mangrove Ave #180, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Some of the food was good, and Im told its not normally like this, but on a really quiet Thursday night our server was pretty inattentive, we had to get up to ask for things like silverware and napkins, then the ultimate ruiner for me was biting into a piece of tempura broccoli and finding it was rotten inside. Since we had ordered two dishes that had it, my girlfriend gave me hers to try, which also turned out to be only slightly less rotten. Its hard to imagine that started out rotten and was battered anyway, which suggests theyre storing food far too long after prep, which is also scary. The remainder of my night was spent nauseated by the taste of this rancid broccoli over and over again, which I couldnt seem to mask.I dont think Im willing to give them another shot for a while.
Rice Bowl
2804 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95973, United States
We had the Walnut Chicken, cream cheese wontons and fried rice. The chicken was very tasty but honestly very greasy. The fried rice was not good, I was hoping it was all a fluke. But the clincher was how little sauce they gave us on the Walnut chicken, they barely give you any sauce. We were hoping it was just a fluke and an off night. Then we ordered take out a few days later and got home to discover that there was barely enough sauce to even lightly coat some of the chicken. Not cool! So I called Rice Bowl and was argued with by the person answering the phone saying that there was no way we could have received it like that, with barely any sauce. This person (guy) even went to talk to the kitchen manager and came back and confirmed that we were wrong. He said theres no way that could have happened. Hmmm-interesting. Then he says it must have evaporated in the box since it was so hot when they put it in. Were very sad to say we wont be eating there again and will find another Chinese restaurant. We just moved here from out of state 2 weeks ago and had already eaten there twice. Sorry guys - can anyone recommend a clean and good Chinese/Asian restaurant in Chico? We found a great one in Willits.
Kwando Buffet
740 Mangrove Ave, Chico, CA 95926, United States
This is a great restaurant the only places I have had better asian food is in Toronto, Canada or San Francisco. And you can only get better sushi at Japanese blossom or big tuna, both of witch are in chico. And all the reviews about service are wrong they are fast and will refill your drinks. And the hibachi grill is amazing.

Surprisingly good menu. Should definitely try their BAOs. Restaurant is like a modernized Asian noodle eatery. Alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks available.
Japanese Blossoms
2995 Esplanade #104, Chico, CA 95973, United States
I dont know why, but I feel relaxed when I go the Blossoms. Something about the vibes in the rant. Good-enough food. The most delicious hot tea Ive had at any Asian restaurant. I like the decor. They would do well to look at the menu of Mobo Sushi in Santa Cruz, CA in order to find and create a more extensive and creative selection of vegetarian sushi. Jena was one of the best waitresses Ive every experienced. Thanks. UPDATE: Sadly, I had a non-excellent experience at Blossoms in February of 2017. Heres the letter I sent to the owner in February of 2017, still unanswered as of May 2017: OwnerJapanese Blossoms2995 EsplanadeChico, CA 95973My wife and I have eaten at your restaurant at least 10 times and enjoyed each visit excepting last night when the brown rice was uncooked (hard as tiny pieces of unchewed bubblegum) and my avocado-cucumber sushi was disappointing because the amount of avocado in each piece was about as big and thick as a postage stamp:Plus we sent my wife’s veggie-disk order back after having requested the sauce on the side but receiving the disk with the sauce on the ingredients.I had posted a 4-star rating for you on yelp initially, but…Please respond. (Never got a response even though I sent two paper letters.)7/11/2018: I never returned to this restaurant.Sincerely,Clayton L. Olson
Ph C & C
3211 Cohasset Rd # 110, Chico, CA 95973, United States
Ive been coming here since they opened. Food is always consistently good. Always met with a smile and quick service. Never disappointed. Sometimes during dinner rush as the restauraunt grows incresingly more and more popular it can be at times distractingly crowded. But the crowds are easy to avoid with a little pre-planning. Since this establishments first opening, other Pho restaurants have sprung up in various places, and a lot of the already existing asian food restaraunts have started serving Pho. I like Pho C&C because they serve a whole Vietnamese menu, not just the popular soup phenomenon. Grilled chicken or beef with char broiled shrimp over vermacelli noodles is one of my all time favorites.
Pho Bonsa

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pho Bonsa and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The decision to visit this restaurant was influenced by the excellent rating it has on Google, and I can confidently say that it truly lived up to its reputation. My fiancée and I opted for the Pho Dac Biet, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the combination of meats and noodles was perfectly balanced. The attention to detail in each component of the dish showcased the culinary expertise of the kitchen.Beyond the delicious food, the service at Pho Bonsa was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and well taken care of.The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall positive experience. The atmosphere was cozy, and the decor created a warm and inviting space. Its evident that the team at Pho Bonsa takes pride in providing not just a meal but a memorable dining experience.I highly recommend Pho Bonsa to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Vietnamese cuisine in Chico, CA. Whether youre a fan of pho or exploring Vietnamese dishes for the first time, Pho Bonsa is sure to leave you with a satisfied palate and a desire to return for more.
Ojiya Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar
2477 Forest Ave, Chico, CA 95928, United States
Overall had a horrible experience here. We came after my niece and nephew graduated. The food was way below average. The server seemed as if she wasn't interested in her job. The manager was rude after we were the ones with the horrible experience. We ordered chicken and shrimp hibachi combos with fried rice and it came with soup and salad. This was before the hibachi experience was happening since we arrived as soon as they opened. The soup is usually my favorite part but this soup was nasty and it didn't smell pleasant; I'm not sure if it was the dishes or the soup but it doesn't matter considering the restaurant didn't smell the best. I'm in no way being biased about this it smelled somewhat like a dirty wet mop. The fried rice was way over seasoned overly salted and peppered. The chicken was a straight disappointment, along with the shrimp and we all spit it out. When we told the manager she caught an attitude and took all of our plates. She proceeded to hand us a check for a salad, a rice, and the tenders my nephew had. I feel as though at least the rice should've been compensated considering we already had a horrible experience. The manager got increasingly rude asking about the second half of the payment more than once and circling the table more than I can count while glaring at us. Before we left we decided to use their restroom and was met with a roach. Overall a horrible experience and I'd never recommend this place.
Panda Express
2443 Cohasset Rd, Chico, CA 95926, United States
Fresh Chinese food. Panda express is dine in or take out. Even drive thru. Clean and fresh eatery. A fast Chinese food with todays theme of ultra fresh healthy cusine. Always busy. About any hour of the day. The food is precooked before you order, but made up in small batches and fresh up hot. Near cooked to order. I have yet to receive any servings less than fresh up. The typical mainstays are on the menu, like, fried rice and chow mein.Broccoli Beef, mushroom chicken. As well as some unique dishes that are Panda Express exclusive. Everything is finely seasoned. Not saying sparse on flavor. But perfection to the intended taste. Few places serve chow me in that I would eat or enjoy. However they make great chow mein. Not over cooked soggy noodles soaked in gravy. And unlike many Chinese restaurants, nothing is overly greasy.Although this is a fast food drive thru type place, When in the mood for chinese food I would prefer Panda Express over most Chinese restaurants just about anywhere. San Francisco China Town included. That may sound cringy I know. You be your own judge and try it. Pricing is reasonable so you have not much to loose if you dont agree. And that is my honest acessment. There is indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating for fair weather days.

I called ahead to place a order because I work 10 min away and was craving Japanese food. I only have a 30 min lunch break. When I called I asked first off Can you make a Chicken bowl without rice? They said yeah of course we can we just do all veggies and chicken I said perfect Ill take the Chicken bowl with the extra veggies and can I add extra chicken with sauce on the side please they again said Yes of course but for an extra charge I stated No problem Ill pay extra when I got to the reasturant the food was ready in a togo bag she read my order back Chicken bowl extra veggies and chicken sauce on the side I paid 1.75 extra for the Chicken and 1.00 extra for the Veggies. I get back to work to find 1.No extra chicken or veggies (my coworker had the same amount of both in her bowl) and RICE which was the whole reason for the extra meat and veggies. Worst part is I called and explained the situation to the girl who took my order. The manager came on the phone and said we made it the way it was put into the computer we didnt mess up please how did you not mess up when I asked for no rice? Not even a appologie only bring the food back and we can replace. I am on a timed lunch break at work that doesnt happen in the real world so basically Im out 10 dollars for a meal I couldnt hardly even eat. I will never go to this establishment again not because the food is poor quality but becaue there customer service skills are lacking.
