Saigon Restaurant
4455 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Restaurant is in the older part of San Diego on El Cajon Blvd that has Asian stores.Food is hot, portions are large, the pho soup is not skimpy on meat, basil and beansprouts are fresh and plentiful. The spring rolls are large enough that one serving of two rolls is good appetizer for two people. There may be a longer wait time, about 15-20 minutes for food during lunch or dinner so order a nice drink. The womens restroom is rather rundown and there is only one stall.Homeless people were camping outside in the alley beside the restaurant but a wire fence has been built to block access into the parking lot for the restaurant.Prices are about $2 less than buying the same thing in the fancier restaurants in Hillcrest.
Hoi Hu Restaurant
4660 El Cajon Blvd Suite 102, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Good dishes from the central region of Vietnam. They are known for their spicy beef noodles but I still prefer that dish from Mien Trung restaurant. They do have a little more extensive menu which is good for big groups so everyone can pick their favorite. The service is okay but that is for most Asian restaurants.
Maxims Seafood Restaurant
4616 El Cajon Blvd #4426, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Restaurant service party dish rather then individuals dish... my mistake to think I could take the whole rice dish at one, unless you have big appetizers then there is no problem for youRestaurant have a classic Asian restaurant interior (also they should try to make the restroom brighter). Recommend for family party dine in but not Recommend for business meetings, unless its a party business hospitality showing meetings
Finest Thai
354 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021, United States
Wow, this place has changed a lot during the pandemic. I usually do takeout, so eating in was a bit of a change since the last time I ate in - was a couple years ago....and its been a while since my last takeout..All flimsy/cheap paper plates (put your hand under them), utensils, cups, and napkins. The whole thing screams cheap. The food quality has taken a bit of a hit to. Ok to good. Avoid fried foods, as they are over cooked. Pad Thai was heavy...not sure what they did..but only passable.Service is nearly self serve. Need anything, you will need to go to the counter to ask. For example, they will bring the food, but no plates at the same time.............We just recently found this place, and really liked it. Good value for the quantity and price of the food. Service was very good, but only one server (Monday evening, we were one of two tables while we were there).Food came very quickly.Im not a spice person, wife is. They offer to include the spices on the side if you like, and they have a scale for the food of 0-10, where 3 is a medium. My only complaint was the wigheads/golden shrimp (different names at different places) but the shrimp wrapped in noodles as a app. They were just a tad small, but then you get 5, probably need one more size up. My issue is more about the balance of flavor, and less about value.
Panda Express
190 Magnolia Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020, United States
Worst customer service I ever had here. I have no idea whats wrong with the staffs attitudes here today on 12/10/2021 around 4:40pm but I didnt feel like I was treated as a customer today. I have never had an issue with Panda before in my life and order with the same terminology Panda uses when ordering. I only ordered 2 plates and 1 plate has 3 items. 2 entrees and 1 side. Both plates had the same items except one had orange chicken and the other was broccoli with beef. I told the young teenage looking girl what each container will have and only stared at me.....she asked if its half and half and I said yes. She stared at me again. I asked did you hear me? She said yes in a rude voice. Idk why she kept staring at me when she already knew the items in both containers and even wrote them down.....there was no other question like is that all or anything so idk what the confusion was. She gave up and this older asian woman came and stepped in with a worse attitude. I got flustered and sighed and said the exact same orders nothing new. They were both half and half on the items I said yes to and just regular plates. She too kept staring blankly and so I felt like I kept repeating myself endlessly with no reason. But thats how you order you state the object like if its a bowl or a plate. Thats why I said 2 plates........they both get 3 items...just different portions....so idk whats wrong. I agreed to half and half on my items I told them on and they just acted as if I was speaking nonsense or a different language.....we finally came to a conclusion and got rung up correctly. So idk what happened....and why they made a scene over the menu thats very simple. Idk if they dont understand what a yes means to a half and half and if they know its 3 items idk.....it was weird and felt like they didnt want us there. Idk why there was confusion when the receipt was perfectly fine too.......
Panda Express

This location on Broadway/Graves in El Cajon is our favorite Panda Express. Parkway Plaza location is excellent, also, but we dont go to the Mall very often. This location is very handy for us to get to, and their food is so good. We like the Teriaki chicken. Theirs is juicy and tender without too much blackening or charring. Their Shrimp and Steak dishes are good, also, but we try to not eat sweet or gravy like sauces. We get our chicken with no sauce, also. The flavor is great without it! Their servers are always happy, attentive, genuinely nice, and helpful. You can sample any item in case youd like to try something new. The place is kept clean and the employees seem to care about each other, and their customers! We stop in almost every week or more.

Ordered online. Went to pick it up. Asked the girl for my order. She handed me my order. The bag has 3 knots in it and tape around the knot. I asked her is there teriyaki sauce in the order as well as soy sauce and fortune cookies. The girl said yes. I replied are you sure. Again she said yes. Thank you. Goodbye. So I drive all the way home to sit down and eat my dinner with my wife. Open the order and guess what. No teriyaki sauce for my teriyaki chicken, no soy sauce and no fortune cookies. So I tell my wife go ahead and eat without me. Im going back to get all 3 things that were not in my order. So I get back to panda express. I see the manager helping a customer and I tell her I would like to speak with her on the side. While Im waiting I see the girl that ensured me that everything was in my order. She is going on her break and looking like she was about to have lunch. So I say to her, you told me everything was in the bag. I drove all the way home and it wasnt. She says to me. Oh they usually put it in there. I asked you twice and you assured me it was. She rolled her eyes at me. She could care less. She was more concerned about her break and her food then mine. So finally the manager comes over and I explain myself again. She acted as if I wanted a refund or free food. NO LADY. I WANT THE 3 THINGS I WAS TOLD TWICE WERE IN THE BAG. AND I WOULD LIKE A APOLOGIE FOR RUINING MY DINNER, WASTING MY TIME. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS SAME LOCATION HAS MADE A MISTAKE. LAST TIME THEY LEFT OUT SOME FOOD AND I DIDNT WANT TO GO BACK. THERE WILL NOT BE A THIRD TIME. I will take my business elsewhere. The rice was terrible and the chowmein was dry.
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors

My food was delicious and I was happy however I went with a friend who has a gluten allergy and told the cashier this when she ordered. She asked them to tell the cook so that there wouldnt be any cross contamination. The cashier went and told the manager instead who then came over and talked to my friend. She again explained to the manager that she has a gluten allergy and would become very ill if there was any cross contamination and again, asked them to notify the cook of this. From there she could see that nobody ever went and spoke with the cook (open kitchen) and then watched as the cook picked up my ingredients (which contained gluten) and then handled hers without ever changing his gloves.
Pho King
4658 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I ordered chicken pho through DoorDash as a pickup order. My order was ready to go when I arrived, however my first impression was that the restaurant was in chaos. There were storage boxes strewn throughout the dining room floor, and they seemed to be understaffed. This also translated into the quality of the food.My chicken pho had the most strange odor, almost like dirty socks. The shrimp spring rolls also emitted an unpleasant aroma, definitely did not seem fresh. I had one taste of each item, then proceeded to throw the food away. It was inedible.I heard so many suggestions to try this pho, but was very disappointed with the food.
Yi Sushi
2650 Jamacha Road #139, El Cajon, CA 92019, United States
This place is awesome. I ordered through door dash. I got the Teriyaki Chicken bowl, Pork Gyoza, and the Yi Maki for 2 which includes a Dragon roll, Shrimp tempura, rainbow roll and a sake roll. The teriyaki chicken bowl has broccoli, mushrooms, and carrots in it. The veggies were cooked perfectly, even the mushrooms (which is hard to come by). They include a LOT of chicken. It was well cooked and tasted great. The rice was absolutely perfect sticky rice. It wasn't over cooked at all. So yummy! The pork gyoza is the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5. They were overcooked and they included the tiniest amount of sauce. It honestly looked like someone put a teaspoon of sauce in and then forgot to fill it the rest of the way. The flavor was also underwhelming. The rolls OMG, they were so yummy. The presentation was an extra bonus. They put it in a tray that has a small well in the center for soy sauce and they arrange the sushi so that it's not just a random mess. They put real effort into it even though it was just being delivered. It's not important when sushi taste good but it was a pleasant surprise. They give you plenty of wasabi for those who like it and included white pickled ginger. The Dragon roll was tasty. It was the least exciting of the rolls ordered, but it was still enjoyable. It has eel and cucumber inside, but there wasn't very much eel. There was plenty of beautiful and perfectly ripe avocado on top.The shrimp tempura was great. The shrimp was cooked well and perfectly crispy. They put some kind of spring lettuce inside that I was weary of it not tasting good or being limp and slimy, but it was crisp and actually was great in the roll. The rainbow roll was awesome and they give you great large pieces of fish on top. There was 2 kinds of tuna, yellow tail and salmon. My favorite was the sake roll. It has spicy salmon and avocado inside and it's topped with generous slices of salmon on top. It wasn't too spicy, just right. I like a lot of spice, and compensate with wasabi, but those who like medium+ spice will not be disappointed. Even someone who likes mild will still enjoy it, IMO. There was so much salmon inside and out. It was amazing.Usually less expensive sushi places will skimp on the fish and it's mostly just a ball of rice. Not this place! You will NOT be disappointed.
