Panda Express
1740 Airline Hwy, Hollister, CA 95023, United States
My wife and I ordered online tonight from the Panda Express in Hollister. Got the confirmation text stating that our order would be ready for pick-up at 7:10 PM. I arrived at approximately 7:05 and went up to the register area to check for our order. There were 9 other customers already waiting to pick up orders and more arrived as I waited. I could see that there were 8 employees working. It took almost 5 minutes before an employee came to the register and I was told our order was not ready and she turned and walked away. Several orders were placed on the shelves and a couple of them were picked up. I am accustomed to having to wait on our orders, however, tonight (7/21/22) I waited for 25 minutes. I tried to get the attention of an employee, however they just ignored me and many other customers still waiting for their orders to pick up. I finally decided to check the orders on the shelves myself and found it on the next to bottom shelf. Have no idea how long it had been sitting there! But wait! The bad experience continues... I did make it known to the woman I believe was the manager on duty, she was the only one wearing a black jacket, that I had waited over 20 minutes waiting, and that my order had been on the shelf! I loudly expressed that they suck! Not my best behavior I admit, but I was pretty upset at that point. I get home with our order, which was partially filled incorrectly. Again, another disappointment! I try to go to the Panda Express Feedback web page only to discover that I wasnt given the receipt, I only got the Grill Ticket. The Grill Ticket does not provide a store number or the 22 digit survey code, and does not show what we paid. This is very poor service and management. The management is responsible in every respect. The young people who are working there are trying hard, but management has failed to be aware of what is going on in the store and direct personnel as needed. Open your eyes!!! When you have 9 plus customers waiting to pick up orders and orders sitting on the shelves, you need to find out why! Perhaps the manager on duty does not possess the ability to manage properly? ?
Happy Caf

Highly disappointed with the food. We ordered combo fried rice, which had two-three shrimp, chewy beef & chicken pieces and severely lacked in flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was ok, the onions and peppers were not sautéed for long so they were still pretty crunch and my husband unfortunately bit into cold pieces of chicken. He ordered the deluxe won ton soup, which the broth was flavorful but the wontons itself were horrifically over done and mushy. Lastly, he ordered the dragons nest which the noodles he mentioned tasted like they were just heated up and thrown into the to go box. They weren't crunchy or thin, they were simply the lo mein noodles. Overpriced for such lack of flavor.
TAP Thai Cuisine

If you want pricey mall Thai food from middle America, please do visit. Didnt expect this from a west coast asian restaurant. Super salty food, pretty sure they are using instant preparations as opposed to being from scratch. Id be surprised if the chef has ever been to Thailand.Oh and forgot, the portions are more appropriate for lunch at the mall.
Noodle City

2 stars not because the food is horrible, but because the staff are incompetent. We ordered two bowls of noodles and one sample platter which includes 2 spring rolls, 2 egg rolls, and 4 shrimp rolls. The menu says its $1 extra for the traditional lettuce condiments for the egg rolls (which comes free in every single pho restaurant except this one). The waitress repeated the order then reminded us of the $1 extra charge for the condiments. Few minutes later she brings out spring rolls only along with the condiments for the egg rolls. When we contested the order, she denied we ordered the sample platter (after having repeated the order to us just a few minutes ago). Why would we pay the extra dollar for egg roll condiments if we really just ordered spring rolls? After denying her mistake, she hastily left and later retrieved the rest of the order with no apologies. When the bill came, there was an extra slip stapled to our bill for another dollar on top of the original bill. Now theyre charging us $2 for the condiments. When we contested the bill, our waitress didnt bother to come. Instead the head waiter came and told us it was $2 for the egg roll condiments. So to cut the story short, he basically told us the menu is wrong and his waitress doesnt know what shes talking about, and so the extra charge stands...as an after thought. Obviously this bad review isnt about the $1 extra charge. Its about principle and courtesy, which the entire waiting staff lacks. Oh, and short term memory. First and last visit to this establishment.
Saigon Noodle House

A surprisingly nice Asian food find in Goleta. A nice well rounded menu, very affordable and extremely great tasting food. From appetizer to dessert, every dish is delicious and memorable. They, unfortunately, do not have an easy way to order online for delivery or pickup. The only options are dine-in or ordering at the restaurant.
Uniboil Phresh Teas Co.
5599 Hollister Ave unit b, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
First time visiting and even really trying a hot pot focused restaurant. Did not disappoint. Broth was excellent and I loved that you could add in all numbers of extras. I got two eggs and udon noodles with lamb. Even just having lamb on the menu impressed me. The flame went out on my hot pot without me noticing so I had to get it relit and took a while for my eggs to cook but overall it was excellent. Would be nice if they were able to serve some beer or sake with this great food. Ill be going back, love to see Asian food getting a foothold in Santa Barbara.
Choppa Poke
7000 Hollister Ave #102, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
This place used to be amazing. I would honestly go here multiple times a week! I would also schedule lunch meetings here and tell all of my friends to go there. The owners and employees did everything possible to take care of you.Recently this restaurant changed owners and names(from pokeme to choppapoke). It has now turned into a place that although I enjoy the food I would rather avoid this place altogether.1. The prices were raised significantly. When this place opened you could get a large 5 scoop bowl for $10 now a large is $15 with only 4 scoops.2. The employees rush you to make decisions and scold you for asking for more. Today I asked for extra cucumbers and the employee says that really is too much.3. The owners and employees are constantly screaming at each other in Chinese. Which is slightly uncomfortable (and I speak Chinese which I dont think the employees knew haha)4. This tables are not cleaned very often. I went in at 3pm and we found one table that was not coated in masago. So in summary the food is good, but it may not be worth the effort and cost to get it. This review honestly makes me sad to give because I have loved this place for soooo long.

When I first noticed that SB Fish Market not only an outpost, but also a restaurant in Goleta, I was stoked! Now I no longer have to drive to the marina, look for parking and wait in a line of tourists for the same delicious, fresh seafood. The inside of the store had a plethora of products: canned items (fancy caviar, pickles, olives, etc), condiments and sauces (including many Asian-specific items), cold beverages, freshly prepared to-go items (seaweed salad, uni, slaws, sashimi and more). If youre in a hurry while on a lunch break, grab a drink, bag of chips and a prepackaged meal, and youre on your way! There is also a glass display stuffed with local and non-local seafood selections. Fish fillets, Channel Island Uni, shrimp, crab, oysters, scallops, clams, squid and everything in between! I encourage you to buy any and all things that are marked as local. Support our local, hardworking seafarers! Now on to the restaurant:I wish I could give 5 stars but theyre new and have some hiccups to work out. There are two lines (though it is not clear): one for the restaurant and another for the fish counter. Unfortunately the space is small so they end up running into one another. Staff was very friendly, patient and willing to answer questions. The outdoor patio has many tables yet limited space. Everyone is squeezed together like canned sardines. The staff who delivers the food can barely fit in between the tables and chairs. As for our food:It could have been better... And I suppose I should have ordered the Fish n Chips that looked spectacular. My partner ordered the Tuna Melt which didnt have cheese--a bit odd to be considered a melt. We also thought it would have been better with a slice of tomato. The tuna definitely was fresh and not from a can, so that was pleasant surprise. I had the Oregon Bay Shrimp Rolls which were decent but very plain in flavor. Luckily there was a bottle of mayonnaise so I made the shrimp into a little shrimp salad and then it was much better. Perhaps they should season the shrimp better. The brioche bread was nicely grilled, however, the Caesar Salad wedge was underwhelming. All in all, Unid to check this place out! I hope to give the restaurant another try after some time.

Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Barbara Goleta
6350 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, United States
One-liner: Poor Service Negates the Positives of this HotelLocation: Near Santa Barbara Airport. Good for those arriving through that airport and need a place close-by with accessibility to the airportParking: Self-parking around the facility. Daily parking fee, even though there was plenty of parking. I did not notice any security that is paid to help watch over the cars too.View: Not much. Surrounded on three sides with factories. My particularly view was of a trash bin for a commercial building. One side facing the main road with a view of some trees that help hide the airport facilities. The rooms facing the courtyard is probably the best view.Overall Room: Layout is not as good as other Residence Inns that have the bedroom and living room divided by a door. It is much smaller than most Residence Inns. I did appreciate the small details such as providing a small salt and pepper shaker for cooking. One time I visited a Residence Inn near San Diego and they did not provide salt and pepper.Kitchen: Refrigerator with freezer. Stove that was electric. Enough plates and utensils and bowls for 3-4 people. Strainer and mixing bowl provided with cap.Bathroom: big and easily accessible. Clean.Bed: I reserved a room with a king size bed. It was on the firm side but comfortableAmenities: Gym, small pool with Jacuzzi, oversized lawn chess board, very mini mini-golf, ping-pong table, two outdoor gas grills.Service: The biggest failure of the whole stay. I was informed there would be a water issue during my stay about 1-2 days prior to my trip. This was for my wedding anniversary and I wanted it to be nice but to find a hotel last minute right before the trip was not possible so I decided to keep my reservation. I thought it would not be so bad but I later found it that there would be no water from 10pm-6am. That meant toilet use was limited to at most 1-2 flushes overnight. I thought I could survive but I realized quickly that I could not wash my hands when I used the bathroom overnight. They did provide complimentary 2 regular size water bottle for the inconvenience, but that does not easily solve the sanitary issue. I brought up the issue with the hotel staff and at most they were dismissive about my concern. That is what caused me to give a 2 star rating, when it could have been a 4-5 star rating. I did not expect 1-2 star, motel level, service from such an overall nice facility.
