Thep Lela Thai Restaurant
615 Strawberry Village, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
Prices were okay for Bay area tourist prices. One plate consisting of 2-3 sliced stir fried eggplant with soy sauce-based seasoning what are two fried eggs in a couple of slivers of bell pepper was $19 we added prawns for extra refresh the rest of the prawns were Frozen stir fried. Dinner plate was four slices of chicken supposably barbecued.. I didnt see any barbecue Marks but there was some Thai BBQ sauce in a both and splashed across the romaine lettuce underneath$20. Three Chinese yam dumplings with yellow curry$13. The food was edible. This is a very Americanized version of Thai. A little better than fast food. Waitress made a pretence of being very patient because we wanted to look over the menu a minute more and wanted to start with water. Precision ordered an appetizer. You could tell she was upset she might have to come back again dinner order. Wasnt she kind of have to come back to pick up the appetizer plate? Fortunately a male waiter intermittently spelled her off. Spoke with a number of the customers all were tourist. No locals. On a Friday night this says a lot since there is nice housing all the way around this complex.

I went on a first date at this establishment last week. I drove about an hour to get to the restaurant, and IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH the drive! Parking was ample, right outside the restaurant. We didnt realize they accepted reservations, so we were walk-ins. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated on what was obviously a very busy Friday, and we were pleased at the short wait time. Staff is super friendly and engaging. Very knowledgeable about the menu. We sat at the sushi bar and had a few enjoyable and informative conversations with one of the sushi masters who had been making sushi for over 20 years. Our food was simply divine! I had the salmon mustard salad.....which was TO DIE FOR! We also had the Lion King roll.....PHENOMENAL! We ordered more, and everything that we shoved into our hungry mugs was DELECTABLE! You will be truly thrilled after a visit to this restaurant. You will leave wanting to come back for more!

This is a great addition to the mid to low range restaurants in terms of pricing in Mill Valley for a very very long time. Its a clean place well run and has many entrees for Asian street food and it has ample free parking just in front which Im sure the whole town knows about now but still great place to go check it out in a nice bar to sit at

Lams Kitchen

Lams kitchen is our absolute favorite restaurant in Mill Valley. Mae is the sweetest person ever and you can taste the love and kindness in the food. Im a vegetarian and she is always so helpful in either altering a dish to fit my needs or recommending a different one that she thinks I will like. Her husband, the chef, never disappoints as Ive never not liked something from his kitchen. Im pretty sure Ive tried just about everything vegetarian on the menu at this point and its all delicious. My boyfriend, Bobby, is not a vegetarian. He always orders the orange chicken or the general Tsos chicken and the chow mein. Mae will also recommend things for him as well if he needs a change. Seriously, best Chinese food in the area. Go here if youd like good food, a friendly atmosphere, and to support a small business as its just Mae and her husband.

Good Earth Natural Foods

This place is ridiculous. Ive never been so offended. I was sent by my girlfriend to pick up some important supplements for her as shes pregnant, which in and of itself is a daunting task for someone that doesnt know his way around those types of things. I finally hunted down what she was looking for (I think!), and this lady swoops in and grabs my basket off the ground and tells me its in the way, and that she could keep it up front for me. Well, Besides the fact that I was lugging my skateboard around as well, which is why I set the basket down, keeping my basket up front basically defeats the purpose of having a basket. She was super aggressive about it as she thrust it at me as I fumbled with my phone, my skateboard, and the basket. I let it go. No big deal. Then I decided I should get something to eat as we had a long drive ahead of us. As a side note, my girlfriend is extremely picky as far as what she can and will eat. So I took my time looking around and making sure to read the ingredients of everything, for one, because there was so many good looking options, and second, because I was in no hurry. I kid you not, this lady proceeds to follow me around the entire store, peeking around corners and pretending to converse with her coworkers just to keep an eye on me. It got to the point where Id mess with them and go a certain direction to see if I was just imagining it, and sure enough, there were literally 4 or 5 employees literally ON me as if Im trying to steal something. The final straw was when one of them walked by me and literally pointed at me and said him?. I asked why they felt the need to follow me and the stupid lady tried tried play it off like she wasnt profiling me. I immediately dropped everything and walked out. I refuse to spend my money at a business that treats people this way. I felt extremely profiled and disrespected. They lost out on a couple hundred dollar purchase and a return customer. It was unbelievable. I went to safeway and was in and out without a problem. This place is a joke. I wish I could give negative stars. Especially to the husky lady that seemed to be in charge. She should be reprimanded, big time. If you shop here, better make it quick! Or youll be followed around the entire store while youre trying to figure out what tf to have for lunch. Jesus Christ!

Buckeye Roadhouse

TL:DR Just say NOExpensive but not a lot of food... Understandable in what looks like is supposed to be a high end restaurant. But shouldnt the food be awesome? Maybe people just pay for the look. Its a pretty restaurant, Ill give them that. This is my first time ever being here.My steak was decent but I prefer the Texas Roadhouse version... and even Outback, Ive had better but you know, they could have had a bad day. The potatoes were interesting but nothing to shout about. The green sauce they put on top of the steak had very little flavor so I dont know why that was there. It didnt go with the steak IMO.We had the shrimp and calamari appetizer. The shrimp were small and the calamari was rubber bands. Bad deal... For the price and the look of this place, that should have been perfect, imo! The sauce, however, was interesting. It was like a tomatillo something sauce... it was also green and they should put THAT with the steak as thats how I found the steak to taste better.I cant speak for the other dishes but hubs said the burger was very meh. It was NOT wagyu quality. He said hes had better at habit and they dont even have wagyu... My daughter had the fish and she said it was OK. So no one had a spectacular WOW dish. Now for the service: When we came in, they asked if we had a reservation. I said no. There was an older couple behind, leaning (kind of) against the wall behind the computer station. Maybe he was the owner because the two young people looked a little stressed. I said, we can go somewhere else, I dont want to impose. The older gentleman said no, its OK, well just move stuff around. The young people were doing something on the computer and a few mins later, the young lady took us upstairs to the top floor.Im not sure what they moved around because it wasnt very busy when we got there but still, I was grateful they let us in. We started with a super awesome waiter who was attentive and nice. He was a tall, average weight Hispanic male. There was another Hispanic male who brought us our appetizer and bread, he was very nice also.UNFORTUNATELY, our waiter had to leave as we were in the middle of dinner. The person who replaced him, a heavy set Hispanic male. He sounded pleasant but I never saw him back on our floor until he dropped off our dessert menus. That was after someone came by and took our plates, brushed the table from crumbs without saying a word. Ive never had that happen at any upscale restaurant. They will usually ask permission first. At the very least he could have said excuse me.Now, the dinner menu. NO prices on the desserts, only on the wines. Thats weird... are they free? That cant be right. We sat for 10 mins, not a soul was nearby. Then the young lady who sat us came by with a tablet and was (Im guessing?) counting tables or people or something. She was tip tapping on it but I dont know exactly what was on the tablet. I asked her over and then asked if the desserts were free to which she said no. Then we said that was fine, we were fine with getting our check then. We explained that we had been left stranded for 10 mins. She apologised then went to find our waiter who came over, took our menus, dumped the check (not placed it, dumped it) and was hurrying off before my husband grabbed his attention to take the card he was ALREADY holding in his hand raised so the waiter could see it as he dropped off the check.Again, this guy never said a word. Not an Im sorry. Not an I didnt see you holding the card. Nothing. He just took the card and the check, left us stranded another 5 mins. Came back. This man must be a mute. He never said a word. I dont know if he cant speak English, if hes rude, if hes mute, or special needs. But that soured our dinner. The icing on the cake? It was my birthday dinner. Hurrah... Yeah, were not coming back to this place. Go to outback, save yourself serious $$$. Go to the Texas Roadhouse if youre up that way. This place? Unless you like pretty buildings, its a pass.

By my opinion, one of the best, Asian Chinese restaurant I have ever had in the bay area. Super up-to-date at the same time extremely authentic. And very affordable for the high-quality material they provide.

Le Marais Bakery

Very rude service. We got handed hot coffee cups while being expected to order at the same time. It confused me and I obviously had to hold the line behind me to go drop coffees on my table before I could order. The lady at the register started acting very rude asking if I'm bothered by anything and while I as ordering items in English she made sure to ask those in French to show that I'm not naming them correctly. After I went to my table I've noticed that the hot coffee to others were delivered to the table by the barista, and they were not handed the coffee like we did. Strange treatment. If the process is inefficient, all the cashier had to do is to be nice and polite, as the frustration was with the process and not with her personally, but she escalated it further by being extremely rude afterwards. Don't be in customer service if you can't be polite regardless of the situation

In-N-Out Burger
798 Redwood Hwy, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States
16 an 330pm. Im from the east coast. Ive always heard about In-N-Out, but never really knew what it was until I got here. Definitely has a nice appearance, and a 1950s appeal. Restaurant was very clean and well-kept, the crew looked very well organized, the food looks incredible. But I have to say, looks can be deceiving! I suppose once youve had five guys, it kind of ruins it for all the other fast food Burger joints! But what was really disappointing about In-N-Out was the fries. They say they are fresh, but it sure doesnt taste so. They look so pale and have kind of a spongy texture. Not a nice crispy fry experience like at McDonalds or Five guys. In fact after we left In-N-Out, my wife made us go to the the McDonalds down the street so she could get her fry-fix. She dumped the In-N-Out fries in the trash after the first few bites. We wont be back. California can keep In-N-Out on the west coast, please.... ?

Person who helped me was super pretentious and rude. Scoffed their way through helping me, seemingly annoyed at my lack of knowledge of French patisserie. I couldn't read the writing on the glass case for some things and had to ask what they were. At first I didn't even notice the dry-erase marker writing on the glass case cause it was dark writing and my eyes shot past it. I want to say that I was very kind through the entire interaction as well, not being tense or agitated at all. They also grabbed all of my ready-to-eat food with bare hands with rings on. Anyone who has a food handlers card knows that it is against health code (due to being a huge sanitation issue that can get people sick) to handle ready-to-eat food with bare hands. Also the same reason for wearing rings while handing food. Rings spread bacteria from the bathroom!Lots of cafes have tongs for baristas to use to grab stuff out of pastry cases, ultimately just good practice to take a sec and throw gloves on first! It's also rrreeeaaalllyyy expensive while being underwhelming. I'll probably just go to Daily Donuts the next time I want to get treats for my family as the environment is much sweeter and inviting.Honestly most other bakerys in town are a good alternative based on my experience today. I say Daily Donuts in particular because it's owned by POC and all of their staff is incredibly friendly. I feel better supporting a marginalized group over a pretentious one.Overall just bummed I'm out $30 for this.
