Mission Asian Market
3320 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92058, United States
I am giving this place 5 stars for being one of the few Filipino restaurants & Asian markets in North County San Diego. The food is prepared hot and fresh every day. Items sell out fast so get there early if you can. Lumpia could be better and seating is very limited. Lots of esssential Filipino supplies on the grocery side of the store. Service has always been very friendly each time I have visited.

Ordered the Ladd Nah and the Wontons. I didnt mind that there was some confusion over the order because the staff was friendly and afterall it was a call in order. Things happen right? The restaurant is beautifully decorated and within walking distance to the beach -hence the 2 stars. The food was beyond awful. The wontons were not crispy and tasted a bit odd. I thought that it was because they were made with the origninal (incorrect) order. The Ladd Nah on the menu was described as pan fried flat noodles topped with brocolli and a garlic gravy so I was a bit surprised when I was handed a container of what appeared to be soup. When I arrived at my destination I opened the container (will post pictures if I can) it looked like soup - a lot of watery soup with a few pieces of broccoli, sliced green beans, a few carrots, and bean srpouts. There was no seasoning. It was very bland so much that even adding salt was useless. The noodles (contained in a separate box) were slick, greasy, overcooked, bland, and stuck together. I thought it I put them in the soup like container it would be much better. Sadly, it was worse. The layer of oil, soup like mixture, and bland vegetables were a very bad combination. I dont know what they cooked it in, but it was beyond bad. I wasted 23.60 (25 if you count the 1.40 tip). Its a wonderful place to sit and people watch or enjoy the sunshine but a horrible place to eat. Maybe they were having an off day but I wont be back.
Sublime Tap House
121 N Cleveland St, Oceanside, CA 92054, United States
As locals, we have been excited to try this place and were supremely disappointed by the whole experience. We both also came from food/restaurant backgrounds so are usually very forgiving with places. To start, this is essentially glorified counter service/to-go food, but at sit down restaurant prices. Maybe it works for lunch, but at dinner, you sit at a table, scan a QR code and place your entire order. No one comes to talk to you and you have to engage to ask any questions. We were looking for a relaxing dinner, but due to the pace of everything we felt rushed the entire time, though the place was virtually empty. All the food came out shockingly fast and pretty much at the same time. The food was on plastic (dare I say microwave safe) plates or even in to-go boxes, and utensils were to-go style plastic in individually wrapped plastic (albeit compostable). There was a light breeze and the fact that the plates and boxes were so flimsy, we had to make sure nothing blew off the table and eventually we lost some lumpia (probably the only thing we thought was good) to the breeze. The food was just okay. We are fans of all sorts of Asian food and have travelled and experienced it all over the world. Spicy didnt mean spicy and the dumplings were flavorless. Honestly. As some have said before, the picture when you order has three times more dumplings pictured than what you get so the price is insane for 4 or 5 dumplings for $13 dollars. Save yourself some money and go to a Trader Joes for way better pot stickers at a quarter of the price. Broth came out cold and everything tasted one dimensional (meaning salty fish sauce flavor). Also, I am sensitive to chemical MSG (not the real msg that is found in real fish and soy sauces) and had the worst reaction Ive had in a long time.Lastly was the price. I get this place is in a pricey location, but for the product, there are so many better options right next door and around the corners that we really dont plan to give this a second chance. We usually dont pan places like this, but really dont want people to come here without forewarning about the food quality and experience. I really hope this place can pivot and find a way to offer value, but for our experience, it may be hard to do without a real change to the business model.
Teri Cafe - Oceanside II
3809 Plaza Dr #101, Oceanside, CA 92056, United States
This is one of those whole in a wall type of restaurants. Great sushi, great ramen, great fried rice. Its not often that you find a restaurant that has good sushi and other Asian food. It is rather either or, but not at Teris.I had the the pork cutlet and found it flavorful. The portion was huge and I did not dinner after having lunch at Teris. The only negative thing I can think of is the water. Either the ice or the water had the typical chlorine flavor.
Love Boat Sushi Oceanside

I have an unpleasant experience at this Sushi Restaurant in. Oceanside. we have a dinner on New year day 2024 at this sushi place. A young white male waiter told us to wait for 10 min. He said no table available when there were 5 table available? So we just waited. After 6 min a white family customers arrived and he seated them right away with out letting them wait. Being an Asian I feel unwanted at this sushi restaurant. Is this how a white sushi waiter treat Asian customers?
Panda Express

So, I don't normally try to eat fast food. I also don't typically give reviews for fast food chains as a personal rule.BUT… There is an exception to every rule and this experience was Exceptional!!No one typically expects much when going to grab a quick hot meal to go unless you're looking down at the menu, not up. ;-) LOL! And I am guilty of not expecting anything at this time.I was actually in my husband's large house robe and my slippers with hard soles. It was about 9 or 10 o'clock at night and I was cold, Hungry, and tired. I looked like a female version of The Dude if there are any Big Lebowski fans out there, you will get the reference. :-)When we walked in, there was almost nothing left. About half an hour until they closed and they were cleaning the entire kitchen. Vent fans, wiped cabinets and counters. Disinfecting and scrubbing until it shined. I have a lot of type A, neat-freaks in the family and I have also worked in fast food (many years ago) so their eye for detail and collective effort involved was by far and away an impressive display of dedication and raising the bar for quality of service to customers. Two other gentlemen walked in after us and also made their separate orders. Then they sat down to wait. We continued to stand by the counter. There was no other customers besides us four. So no need to move or feel pressed to get out of the way as they fired up the wok and made fresh batches of orange chicken and chow mein for us all.It smelled good. They were training a new hire. She's never worked in a customer facing position before. Maybe it was her first job, she was so young and sweet and definitely green to the service industry. One of the gentlemen was sitting at a table, the other standing against the far wall. She said “Sir?” a few times to grab his attention, but he was absorbed in whatever was in his phone at the time. We all turned to look at him as the girl at the counter nervously tried to figure out how she should get his attention. The situation was interesting because the girls behind the counter were Mexican, my husband, myself and the man sitting at the table are all pale, and the man at the far wall was a POC. I watched and waited to see how she would handle the situation, as did the other older ladies who had been training her. She looks to them for help, her eyes kind of doe-like in fright and uncertainty, they offer no help. With a look given back that said “well, what are you going to do?”She said Sir one more time in futile attempt and then said, “Umm… Excuse me? Dude in the Hat?” And it was loud and strong enough to be heard by everyone.“Huh?” He turns to look. And we all looked at her. And my immediate reaction was to Laugh Out Loud!!!It was so funny!! She was brave and uncertain but she did it. It was unconventional, but it worked! And the ladies and kitchen staff all laughed, as did the gentleman against the far wall and the “dude in the hat”. Can't get more SoCal than that experience right there. The food was hot, fresh, not a long wait and the atmosphere was wonderful. The people that work here truly care for each other, their work, their customers and are an excellent example of a successful family owned chain restaurant.I took a few pictures because I'm a mother of a former Radys Children's Hospital patient (he made it! Yay!) and a previous guest at the charitable Ronald McDonald House adjacent to the hospital. I saw the one they had hung humbly to the side wall about the funds raised for Radys Children's Hospital here in San Diego. It definitely gave me the feels and pulled on my personal heart strings. They saved my boy's foot and his life from a terrible fungus. The cleanliness of the place was also worth noting. In a time of rapid spread of dangerous viruses, the helpful tip from a local that says “it's okay, you can eat here.” Really helps others feel secure in their choices, I think. So this place is good folks! Feel free to indulge in the fast, friendly, fresh and clean food served at this Panda Express location. It was a lot of fun!

Himalayan Bistro Oceanside
4225 Oceanside Blvd suite w, Oceanside, CA 92056, United States
We are Oceanside locals and have been patiently waiting for a Himalayan restaurant to open in our town.Theyve only been open for 6 days but theyve left a great impression on us. The service was fantastic and the food was full of spices and flavors which are hard to find around here.We ordered a goat curry (not pictured), garlic Naan, butter Naan, Chicken Momo, and Lamb Sekuwa, a himilayan specialty. My wife asked for the goat curry to be spicy and she was not disappointed. She told me when shes craving goat curry this will be her new go-to place. The spices inside the curry was a perfect blend. Sometimes when ordering curries it tastes like it was just the curry powder. Not this place. You can tell some love was put into it.I ordered the lamb. I believe it had been marinating due to the skewer holes gone right through the middle along with the intense flavors for such an unassuming piece of meat. I loved it and so did my daughter. It was cooked perfectly; not overcooked or undercooked. The slightly caramelized bed of onions it was sitting on had such epic flavors which embodied the entire plate. I added a squirt of lemon which came with the plate and it definitely set it over the top in the best way possible. My wife and I shared a plate of chicken momo, a favorite of ours when going to Himalayan food. There was a home made sauce in the middle which went great with it. It was so delicious we put it on our Naan bread too! We asked for some of the sauce to go because of how delicious and unique it was.The two Naan breads were standard for Naan weve had in the past. Tasty and meant to compliment the main courses. We got to meet the head cheff and, I am assuming, owner. He was very friendly and we learned he has been cooking professionally for over two decades. You can definitely tell because each dish was plated beautifully and the flavors were epic.We are happy this place opened up in Oceanside and I hope it gets more customers as word grows. They deserve it.The prices are very pre-inflation.Once Oceaside approves their beer and wine license, we will definitely be regulars here. Nothing beats a Taj Mahal beer with Himilayan food
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors

The food was too Americanized to be an asian restaurant. I go because of the convenience.
Panda Express
47 Douglas Dr, Oceanside, CA 92054, United States
The five star review is in comparison to other Panda express restaurants:Panda Express is a known quantity, I am assuming you are familiar with tbeir entrees and what they are about. They offer quality fast food with an Asian twist. They are affordable and get the food out fast, so they are usually situated in a strip mall or other high traffic area. As such there is almost never adequate parking and or you need to fight traffic to get there. This one is located atvtge corner of Douglas and SR 76, so getting there is super easy and convenient, and there is tons of parking. If you just want to grab something fast (fast being the operant term here) you can get there, in, and out in a snap. I would rather drive past a panda express that I have to fight traffic to and from and circle the lot for parking. That said, I have eaten here several times and they are fast, friendly and efficient. All that said there was one experience there that endeared this restaurant to me. I stopped in after work one day hoping I could convince my wife to join me for a light supper. I sat down and told the waitress when she asked if I needed any help that I was waiting on a response from my wife and would only be dining if she chose to join me. I was fairly sure she would. They were kind and I was not rushed in any way, they even brought me water. They were kind and courteous even when they were not sure I was planning on eating there.
