Saucy Asian
3801 17th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States
Service: The worker was a bit short with us but did offer to give us an extra popsicle since the one we wanted was out of stock after we paid.Atmosphere: The place is small and cute and clean. The door is left open so people come and go and you can definitely people watch if you're into that.Food: The katsu was honestly all breading and no meat. It was so thin that it felt like I was just eating crisp with nothing else. While I liked the crisp, I would've enjoyed some juicy pork meat inside as well. The sauce was good and the rice was good as well. My friend got the bibimbap and she would give it a 7.5/10. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing, the spicy pork in it was really good though! The watermelon popsicle was very cute but taste wise was mid. The shark popsicle was fire and I would definitely get that one again.

This restaurant serves Authentic South Asian food. The food was great. Service was fast. Affordable prices considering its location in San Francisco downtown. Cleaner compared to Shalimar restaurant across the road.

My husband and I are visiting San Francisco for the first time and we looked up Zabiha halal Asian places to eat around us, and found pakwan restaurant closeby. Thai Time Restaurant
315 8th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States
Thai Time is now our new favorite low-key Thai restaurant, replacing King of Thai Noodle/Kings Thai Cuisine #1 in the Inner Richmond. we opted to try something new on Saturday evening at 9pm and found this place open and packed. The restaurant is very small, best for groups of 2 or 4. Tables turned fast and the servers were very attentive to let us know approximately how soon our table would be ready. A large menu is available by the door for perusing while you wait outside, along with a park bench. The food here was amazing. We ordered the Green Curry Duck (Sliced boneless roasted duck in spicy green curry with bamboo shoots, Japanese eggplant, zucchini, and basil), which was delicious! The duck was roasted and then cooked in the green curry, adding so much flavor. We also got the Hor Mok Talay (Sautéed prawns, calamari, scallops, mussels, crab claw, and coconut meat with red thick curry sauce on steamed cabbage and basil). This dish was amazing simply because of the presentation. The curry was served in a coconut shell and they didnt skimp on the seafood! If you get this, dont forget to use the spoon to scoop the coconut flesh inside because it was HELLA GOOD. (Yes, I busted out hella because its really hella good.)We noticed a lot of tables had some kind of fried appetizer roll, but figured we had enough food for two, so we missed out. Hot Thai tea was $1.50, with unlimited refills. The bathroom is a bit hard to get to and very cramped. Youll have to go through their tiny alleyway kitchen to the very back where there is a door. Street parking was plentiful at 9pm on a Saturday as always.I cant say how much we loved this place. Just go try it because its HELLA GOOD.

Blue Whale Restaurant & Lounge
2033 Union St, San Francisco, CA 94123, United States
Typical Asian fusion in that it would taste best in original cuisine style. Signature duck salad is really odd flavor and not nearly worth the price. Seafood soup noodles pretty bland flavor. Just doesn’t hit the excellence it would in a true Asian restaurant. The patio is lovely but the inside is so noisy you can’t hear at your own table. I love elevated Asian, but weary of mediocre fusion.

OSHA staff like atypical rude restaurant owners from asian continent. i am sorry over and over again. Even when I asked for boss because asking for food politely and getting such disrespect is why people go to tenderloin restaurants. For my ratingHomeless friendly 0/5Empathetic staff 0/5Overall atmosphere: 1.25/5Discrimination: 5/5

Sam Wo Restaurant
713 Clay St, San Francisco, CA 94108, United States
Sam Wo Restaurant was a great late-night dining option in Chinatown. We wanted to eat in Chinatown at least once during our visit to San Francisco, and I was not disappointed with our choice to visit Sam Wo. The atmosphere was authentic, the food was delicious, the portions were large and a good value, the service was good.We started off with the Chinese Donuts. They were really similar to fry bread – not really sweet, but a little savory. They were great for dipping, whether in sauce or I would imagine soup. We also ordered the Fried Spring Roll appetizer, which was delicious. Stuffed to the bursting with cabbage and a very nice tangy dipping sauce. The order was a good size for 2-3 people. For our main dishes, I chose the Sweet & Sour Chicken, while my significant other ordered the Duck Chow Mein. While both dishes were delicious, the Sweet & Sour Chicken really stole the show. The Duck Chow Mein was nice, and the noodles were cooked well. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was perfectly done, not soggy at all with the breading, and the vegetables cooked just as much as you'd want them, but no more. The sauce was fantastic and addicting. Writing this makes me wish I was able to have some more now!I would recommend visiting Sam Wo, and I would definitely visit again. Between the delicious food and the affordability, it was a good spot for dinner. I'll be dreaming about that Sweet & Sour Chicken for a while.

Emmys Restaurant
1923 Ocean Ave, San Francisco, CA 94127, United States
It really hurts to finally write this review. My family and I have been going to Emmy’s while they were still on Monterey Blvd when I was still a kid over 20 years ago! However, Emmy’s has been declining specially the last three years. The prices keep going up but the portions are smaller and the flavors are more bland perhaps to cater to the non-Asian customers.I would order wor wonton soup, and they didn’t use to have bochoy in them so I was getting charged $1 extra to add them. That was fine except they never put enough broth. I was lucky to get even two tablespoons of broth! I had to ask for more broth each time! Finally, bochoy just became a staple of the wor wonton soup. Today, the woman on the phone said she would add broth but she didn’t say she would charge me $3.50 for a tiny amount of broth that really should’ve been part of the SOUP I ordered. In other Asian restaurants, they put the soups in two containers to make sure there are plenty of broth and other ingredients. I was also never charged by Emmy’s before for extra broth!I used to order oysters with ginger & green onion but I stopped when they only put 3 oysters last time. Two prior orders only had 4-5 oysters. When I first ordered the dish there were always 6+.The deep fried flounder that we used to order almost all the time was ordered less often the last six months. The price kept getting higher but the fish kept getting smaller. The very last time I ordered, I paid for two hot and sour soups but they only delivered one.Today was the final straw. The woman was talking in Chinese to others while she was on the phone with me. She also did not say I was getting charged for the extra broth. When the driver called to clarify the price, she said she charged me $3.50 for the extra broth which I used to get for free. My calculations also indicated, she actually charged me $5. Then, I actually had to add salt and pepper just so I could taste something! Bland, bland, bland!Ma po tofu is supposed to be spicy! Description even indicated spicy. It was blander than bland. My mom who thinks a little bit of pepper is spicy thinks this is bland! I had to add pepper and hot sauce! The driver is an older gentleman who actually understands customer service when clearly his female boss does not.In the last few years, I would order by calling them directly or used platforms like Eat24, Grub Hub, and Amazon when they have promotions.20+ years of Emmy’s but higher prices, less portions, overcharges, no broth soups, bland foods, and management failures, I will have to order elsewhere. I’ve had better Chinese food in recent years but loyalty and the deep fried flounder were the only reasons I still ordered there.Loyalty finally ends today.

Golden Horse Restaurant
1060 Hyde St, San Francisco, CA 94109, United States
Low prices with big portions are all I have to say. This is a good place to get all kinds of seafood. The menu has a lot of options to choose from and provides a lot of choices with different categories. They do takeout orders for this restaurant with friendly staff helping us. Food was pretty quick, a good place to get amazing Asian food.

Thai Satay Restaurant & Bar
265 Grand Ave, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States
Absolutely horrible. They poisoned me even after I called ahead and asked if they were comfortable preparing a meal for somebody with celiac disease who cannot eat gluten. When I arrived and was greeted I was very thorough and let them know exactly what my allergies were and they assured me that they take care of gluten free meals all the time so I felt comfortable and trusted them but five minutes after taking my first bite I became violently ill and barely made it back to my hotel and now I have been violently ill for hours. And when I asked them if it was definitely gluten-free they said yes but I was already having the symptoms of a gluten attack and they eventually admitted that the tofu in my meal was deep-fried and cross-contaminated because they use the same fryer for everything but the waitress lied to me in the beginning and said that it was all 100% gluten-free so now I have to go to the hospital and miss the entire rest of the conference that I paid over $1500 to attend. thanks Thai satay.
