Fortune Cookies Restaurant Los Alamitos
12235 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
This place has the worst service and their food is inconsistent. My husband and I used to order from here quite a bit, but we found that the quality of the food was diminishing as time went by. We made an order tonight in an attempt to salvage any hope we had for their food. The delivery guy arrived with our container of food spilled all over inside the paper bag. We also ordered three sides of rice but only received two. I called them to let them know that our food spilled all over the bag and that they forgot one order of rice. They said they would send somebody right over with a replacement as well as my rice. The delivery guy came again, handed us the bag, and literally ran away. When I opened the bag, there were six containers of rice and no replacement for my entree! I called again and tried to be understanding. I told them I didnt want their six packages of rice, just my entree replacement. They said they would send somebody again right away. A few minutes later I got a phone call stating that their kitchen had closed, and they could not cook or send the replacement order.I then asked for a refund. They refused to credit my credit card back but offered cash back. They wanted me to go back into the store to go pick up my refund. I refused because this was a delivery order. At that point they said there was nothing they could do but give me a store credit. The manager was in the background instructing the gal on the phone of what to say. Not once did that manager attempt to speak to me or apologize for the inconvenience.I then told them that they not only lost my business but they lost tonights sale as well. I disputed the credit card charge and will never do business with them again.

Thai on Main
117 Main St, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
What a disappointment! The food was edible, but better fare and more flavorful can be had for half the price at any Asian buffet. The calamari was pre-frozen, not fresh. The soups and main dishes (chicken and beef) bland, this after asking for spicy. I love Thai food, previous reviews were favorable. I can only imagine that these were from folks who do not know Asian cuisine, and in particular Thai which generally is a delicious blend of spices and coconut, full of flavor and exciting to the palate. We chose this restaurant hoping to find a Thai restaurant close to where we live in Seal Beach, but now know we must travel a little further to find the tastes and preparation we have come to expect in Thai cuisine. I would not recommend....this is a place that survives because it is in a tourist destination where the transients are most likely just looking for a quick eat.. I stand by the review.

Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
12430 Seal Beach Blvd Suite A, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
We picked up dinner here last night and we will never go back again. I ordered chicken with broccoli. My companion ordered chicken with vegetables. There were at least 5 people behind the counter and the kitchen seemed very busy. Mostly orders called in for pick-up, I suspect, because there werent that many of us waiting in their dining room. We waited almost 1/2 an hour. Ok. They were busy. When we finally got our food, we paid them and left a tip. And that was the best part of our dinner. Instead of receiving my chicken and broccoli, I too was served chicken with vegetables. So both orders should have been the same, right? Wrong. My companions meal was swimming in soy sauce, and besides the fact that her boneless chicken had bones in it, it was tough as nails and inedible. We ended up throwing it away and I made her a couple eggs. My chicken dish had no soy sauce and the chicken was prepared differently. It was tough and very chewy but at least it was edible. I called the restaurant to tell them what happened. Their phone rang 22 times before someone answered and I was immediately put on hold for over 9 minutes. I finally hung up.Terrible food, terrible customer service. Dont go here.

Rocharin Thai Bistro
600 CA-1 #108, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
The food here is top notch. No issues with the food. 4/5The service however is absolutely horrible. This restaurant closes at 10 pm. We called in at 9.15 pm informing them that we are on our way there and asked if we could dine in.The person who answered the call told us that we could come in as long as we place our order before 9.30 as the kitchen would close. He was courteous and we obliged. We informed him what we would like.We reached the restaurant at 9.31 pm. We were rudely seated by waitress who totally lost her mind when we merely walked past the table she was pointing at.While I was away at the restroom, she had the audacity to inform my wife This time I am giving you the food. Next time come in before 9.30 if you want to dine in despite us having called in.My wife who was shocked walked to the other waitress and informed her to pack our dinner to go. I think thats when the first waitress realized she screwed up and asked the others working there to do damage control. But it was too late. The other patrons who were seated next to us was applauded by the treatment and started munching down their food faster. If the owner of this establishment is reading this- how on earth can you employ such an obnoxious person ? This is just such a poor experience that it offsets the wonderful food you serve. Please fix this attitude. If she did not want us to dine in she couldve politely informed us to take out or dinner. There was no need to speak to us the way she did.Im utterly disappointed by the service. Its a real pity considering how good the food is.

Koi Japanese Cuisine
600 CA-1 #100, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
WORST SUSHI RESTAURANT EVER!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! From start to finish this place should not be in business. We got old menus with old prices and got a huge surprise when we got the bill that had more expensive menu items. On the menu we got the price for Salmon Nigiri was $7.50 and the bill charged $8.50 and rainbow cali roll on the old menu we got was $18 an they charged us $19. The service was like we never got any. The sushi chef didnt understand our order and gave us both a cali roll and a rainbow cali roll, when we only ordered a rainbow cali roll, so they could overcharge us. We told the sushi chef we only ordered the rainbow cali roll and not the cali roll and he rudely pulled the plate from my hand and took the cali roll off as he rolled his eyes. The owner was also rude and didnt care he served outdated menus and we didnt get a water refill for 20 minutes and had horrible customer service. On top of all this the food was overpriced and disgusting. The salmon nigiri had no flavor and was not buttery at all. Same thing with the cali rainbow roll. We couldnt even order more food because we had no server!!!!!! Save yourself the time and money because after I left here I had to go home and make dinner.

Spaghettini
3005 Old Ranch Pkwy, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
After deciding to go somewhere else for our anniversary dinner that had a 1 hour wait, we drove down the street a bit farther and agreed on Spaghettini. It has been over 25 years since we have eaten here, and its right down the street! We were greeted by a cheerful gal that took our names and told us it would be a 5-10 minute wait. Perfect! We went to the bar a grabbed a drink. Lets just say they were fabulous. I started with a Lemon Drop Martini and the hubs got a Moscow Mule. They were a bit pricey but hey, its our 20+1 Anniversary (I needed a 20th do-over since we were locked down last year). We were seated outside on a makeshift patio that I have to say they did a tremendous job on. Who would have thought we were going to make outside dining available in parking lots and where ever else they can cram them into. It was beautifully decorated with heaters, lights, plants, flowers. Just nicely done.We started with the Ahi tower. It was to die for! Make sure you add avocado because I think it made it even better. The mustard aiolo and the toasted baguette were yummy. It was time for another cocktail so I switched it up to the Sitting Pretty (sticking with Vodka). I LOVED it. It was like the Lemon Drop but with a hint of sweetness instead of the sour. Hubby got a Porcupine. It was really spicy! Serrano infused tequila, lime, citrus agave with basil and cucumber. He loved it!Ok, time for the meal. I decided to go big with the seafood pasta. I was afraid it might be too much seafood but it was delicious. I devoured every last bite like it was my last meal!Hubby ordered the tomahawk cider brined pork chop. I am not one to order pork chops but I had a bite and need to consider changing my orders up a bit. It was super juicy and cooked to perfect. The potatoes were amazing and forget about the broccoli because god forbid he eat a green vegetable.Sorry but there was no room for dessert but we enjoyed a fabulous 21st anniversary dinner. They also had a band starting at 7pm. parking was $7 for valet but we found plenty of room to park ourselves. We will definitely return, sooner than 25 years from now! Thanks for the great experience, excellent customer service and fabulous ambiance.

The Crema Cafe
322 Main St, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
I was a little disappointed in my weekend visiton Sunday to Crema Cafe in Seal Beach. Normally during weekdays you walk in right away at the counter get your coffee (which is good) and your breakfast is served at your table. In weekends I discovered they have a hostess and serve at the table. When I walked in no one was at the hostess counter to seat me so I walked in. One cashier told me I had to wait for the hostess but when I looked out and pointed that no one was there the other cashier said I could take a seat since they werent crowded. After a minute a hostess came over and asked me for my order but since a hostess hadnt seated me I was never given a menu. I knew what I wanted however and ordered the scrambled eggs and a coffee.I asked for a paper cup and the hostess obliged bringing me a coffee in a paper cup. When I took off the lid there was something floating like a piece of paper or plastic that might have come off or a blade of grass. I took the coffee to the cashier and got a new cup but no one was free to pay attention to me so I could let them know.I think Crema should have two review categories, one for weekends when they Run hostess and table service and another for weekdays when they run counter service. Just seems like a different place with slightly lower service than on a weekday. Ill continue to visit on weekdays but be aware its just different on weekends.New opening December 2017:Still same food. But the counter staff had trouble with taking the order so they are still learning. The new layout opens up the whole interior. Tables ar set aside for Service but with the open plan sone people from coffee bar would sit at the tables. Kind of frustrating for people waiting on a table I could see. Things are a little slow here but it's a beach town vibe so that's to be expected.

Old Ranch Country Club
3901 Lampson Ave, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
When looking into wedding venues, my husband and I had such a hard time finding the right place until we got referred to the amazing and talented Ebi Irajpanah at Old Ranch Country Club. From meeting him, we explained to him our vision on what we wanted our wedding to look like. He was able to accommodate the specific date we wanted June 26, which we were thrilled about. From our first interaction with him, we knew we were in good hands, we knew we would be able to trust him in helping us plan our wedding night.Through our interactions I was able to tell Ebi is very detail orientated, knowledgeable, reliable, passionate and available to help or talk about any aspect of the wedding at any time I needed him. Ebi went above and beyond in helping me and my husband plan our magical/dream wedding. Our vendors, family and friends raved about how beautiful everything was put together. And I can not thank Ebi enough for bringing it all together. If it wasnt for his help or guidance we wouldnt have been able to find all the vendors that we had.The day of the wedding, Ebi made sure our vendors arrived on time, set up on time and made sure our timeline from ceremony to reception was on time. He greeted us with the biggest smile on his face and was so excited to show us the set up. We were truly amazed by it all. He also made sure our bridal and groom room was ready for us to be comfortable in. He was by our side the entire night and made sure everything was perfect, which it was.Planning a wedding can be a bit stressful especially during covid and we were a bit concerned with the covid rules and regulations because we wanted both an indoor and outdoor wedding with 200+ people. Ebi communicated with us every single week if there were any changes in their tiers from the governors and county with how many people we were able to have. He gave us hope in knowing we would be able to accommodate why we originally wanted for our guest count. The location was absolutely stunning, our ceremony was right in front of the gazebo followed by our cocktail hour on top of the Terrance with our reception being indoors. We really liked how we were able to use different spaces to make it look different. We had the glass doors open which made it very elegant as well.Thank you so much Ebi for everything you did!

The Abbey

Our first visit here was a Friday night date night for dinner. I woulda thought this place would be slammed for dinner at 6 p.m. We were very fortunate and found a table immediately.Of course we had the Asian nachos with chicken. Washed down with a Hoegarden on tap. My Petite Red Headed Passion Flower split the Chicken Caprese sandwich with sweet tater fries.Service was very timely, our server was on top of it. Not overbearing. The host was engaging and and had some suggestions for our future visit. Food was delicious and our request to split the sandwich was rewarded with two plates with generous servings. We probably could have made a meal out of the Asian Nachos. I enjoyed picking through the selection of draft beers (although I am scratching my head over the IPA rage thing plaguing selections all over the planet) I cant wait to go back to try the wood fired pizza that has beer in the dough. The fish and chips look awesome too!Great local vibe, cant wait to take my best girl back!

Sushi Ryokan
1013 Pacific Coast Hwy, Seal Beach, CA 90740, United States
We arrived here at approximately 230pm on a Thursday afternoon. It was not too busy and we were seated right away.We were able to make their happy hour and enjoyed reduced pricing on a generous happy hour menu.Or meal started with their seasoned edamame. It was DELICIOUS! Ive had other seasoned edamame that I thought was good, but this one was even better and with a nice kick. Yum!We enjoyed it with sake and a beer.We tried different sushi rolls. All delicious and fairly priced.I would have liked a little more attentiveness. It took a bit of time to get the ginger and wasabi for our meal. They didnt bring it at the beginning as normal. And it also took us a bit to get our check. However since it was my first time, for all I know it could have just been an off day for them. Even with that, when they were serving us, they were nice and not rude so, I still give them high stars.Oh!! And if youre celebrating a birthday, they turn on the disco lights and sing happy birthday. It wasnt ours, but you can bet we sang along!! How fun!!!Honestly, the service wasnt a deal breaker. Id still go back again for the food and the happy hour pricing. I trust the service will be great the next time.
