Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water., which was Chicken with Hot Sauce.For lunch I had the White meat chicken, green bell peppers and red chilies in an aromatic soy-based sauce.Overall, the staff Friendly waiter, and the Chinese Restaurant was quick clean service. great for a fast lunch or a slow one.

I recently dined at Golden Dragon Restaurant on Broadway in Los Angeles, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfying. The food lacked freshness and arrived cold, failing to capture the authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine. While the servers were friendly, they struggled to understand instructions and were not as attentive as one would expect.On the positive side, the restaurant itself was clean, albeit a bit outdated. The restroom facilities were well-maintained and hygienic. For those driving, valet parking is available, and there is also street parking with meters nearby.Overall, while the restaurant has some redeeming qualities, such as cleanliness and friendly staff, the quality of the food and service could certainly be improved to enhance the dining experience.Not happy but you can always try while youre in L.A

Its always heartbreaking to write about a place you used to love- it used to be one of those places you told all your friends and fam about...... took out-of-towners to, to show off how awesome your neighborhood is, how upscale and yum the local hot spots are.And it used to be my go to place to celebrate special occasions.No Mas.Id like to blame it on Covid - but the truth is, as far back as 2018, there were already signs that the Ownership had either sold, or sold-out. There used to be 3 owners... now only one of the original remains, Joseph - and he seems to no longer enjoy his guests nor his own place. Rude might be a word to describe how is now is even with his most loyal customers.This also describes several of the hosts who sound downright unhappy to be taking your to go orders - no warm smile when you arrive to pick up your food - in fact, they may just absent-mindedly POINT AT YOUR BAG as if actually GREETING a paying customer who keeps them employed were too much of a strain.This past year, delivery orders have been wrong. If you call to describe the problem, they might work with you on a resolution - or they might argue with you that you are wrong (!)And actually DINING IN on most nights is a downright depressing experience. The decor has not been freshened or updated since a few years after it opened (back in 1990- 34 years ago), and the waitstaff are mostly silent, solemn, and disinterested. They recently lost their Head Chef to a new venture downtown, and it also shows.And all those things you USED to get with your entrees - a bowl of rice, jasmine tea, ice water...? GONE. Unless you want to pay for your rice ($4.00!!! For 2 scoops of white rice that costs them maybe 30 cents).OH - and all the things you would EXPECT for a single-entree dinner that costs $40+ at a nice Chinese Restaurant (chopsticks, plum sauce, spice mustard, napkins, crunchy noodles...?)FORGET IT. UNLESS YOU OUTRIGHT ASK - theyll send you home with your entree WITH NO CHOPSTICKS. Cause being stingy I guess helps keep them afloat, maybe. Or they just dont care enough to offer and ask you if youd like any of the items youd hope for from a classy restaurant.Parking still requires valet (though the restaurant itself is not that busy, a very popular sushi restaurant a few doors down now takes up all the street parking and back parking lots).My last order was a few days ago. I called the owner by name, was friendly, asked how he was. I was cut off with What do you want to order? I ordered. Realized Id forgotten to request chopsticks, call back - he hollers in Chinese to the staff to add chopsticks and then - HANGS UP ON ME. No, No problem, well add those, or even a Good bye. Just CLICK.Seriously? This after 34 years of loyal patronage?Do yourself a favor - go to the sushi restaurant up the street, or call any one of the 3 dozen other Chinese restaurants in Sherman Oaks who might actually treat you like your patronage matters. The food is fine - but at exhoribitant prices and sub-par service - not worth it anymore.Thank you.

Ive never written a restaurant review. Not enough time or passion. Golden Tree changed that. My first visit was 11/20/2021. I stumbled upon it by briefly reading other reviews. This restaurant had the best Chinese food Ive ever eaten - and Ive had my share of Chinese food, including in New York City and San Francisco. The quality of the food is insanely good. Golden Tree has now replaced San Franciscos Hunans Home as the best Chinese restaurant I have experienced. Dont expect much tacky Chinese ambience, except for the waving kitty. But the food easily distracts from the austere environs. Oh yes - the service was incredible as well. I will have no hesitation driving for an hour or so to go dine there again.

So I was in Chinatown with family and someone was handing out menus on the street. We asked the guy handing out the menu about the restaurant. He said they were new and had only been open a couple of weeks. So we walked around for a while and when it was time to eat we decided to give this place a try. The restaurant is designed in a modern style. It is very clean. So we ordered. We ordered Shrimp Rolls, Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chiken, and The Hot and Sour Soup.I wanted fried shrimp. It’s a staple with my family and they suggested the shrimp rolls, which are essentially shrimp rolled ip in a pastry dough or maybe wonton wrapper, but let me say this, Delicious. They were served in a mason jar with sauce on the side. The only thing they didn’t have was hot mustard, but it’s ok. They were still really good.This was the opening to the rest of the dinner, the rice was great, Kung pao mmmm, lo mein was great and the soup was good.I live in LA and my family and I eat Chinese on a regular basis. There isn’t a lot of good Chinese food in Los Angeles proper and we usually go to West Hollywood to the Kung Pao Bistro or the the Inland Empire to the China Point or if we are feeling like we want true hardcore Chinese food we head to Alhambra to Chengdu.Well the East Garden is now on my list of favorite spots. Plus it’s like 1/2 mike from my house. The waiters were very attentive, the place was clean, the food was fresh and delicious. There is a big parking lot in front or you can park across the street in the big lot on Hill St.Turns out the guy handing out the menus is the owner. You need to try this place it will be on your list of favorite restaurnts, overall.

Beware with their prices as they are bait and switch to lure the customer and then later on you find out youre being charged more! The Better Business Bureau really needs to investigate this place!!The food quality has became terrible compared to a few years ago and they overprice you on all their dishes about $3 to $5 more now with smaller portions too! They also skimp or purposely do not add the certain meats or vegetables in the soups or dishes like they used to while they think its ok to still overprice me!! If Im going to be charged more I believe I should atleast receive the same portion from a few years ago. The lunch special is considered worthless and overpriced now. For the same price I now go to Panda on Westwood blvd. where I can get a 3 item combo with fried rice and chowmein for cheaper and with more satisfying food! They dont give you utensils either unless you ask and if you ask they give you attitude!! They also dont give you a full itemized receipt because they fear you will catch them overcharging you! They also try to overcharge you the same price as if I were buying shrimp fried rice! Regular white rice should be complimentary even if they just give you a little to get by considering they add more for the pricing for their entree items and also that they think theyre being clever adding a built in tip as well! Remember, always ask for a full itemized receipt and make sure its in English as well!!!
